3861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling company that did hit the jackpot during the pandemic. on: April 07, 2021, 01:08:42 PM
The online gambling casino witnessed huge customer growth in this pandemic period as many saw rise of about 30% this season which is quite impressive. The main reason is that people want to indulge in something entertaining or say want to earn money through different forms. That's why the profits of the house edge grow at fast rate.Same is the case with Bet365 and this is why Denise Coatse is highest paid CEO of any UK company with annual salary of $423 million paycheck which is huge.We can estimate the amount of profits they have made during this lockdown. We can find clues from Self exclusion scheme where gambling addicts are enrolled to prohibit them to gamble for certain period of time. The percentage for such schemes have drastically increased during this lockdown. Some have lost badly but gambling industry has certainly made good amount of profits.
3862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 652 Ukrainian officials declare holding a total of 46,351 BTC on: April 07, 2021, 12:09:33 PM
This is quite impressive that the politicians are holdings such huge amount in Bitcoins. But the main point is due to rise in prices everyone wants a share in profit and moreover politicians have funds available with them that can invest even at high prices to hold for the long term.We have heard many instances before Ukraine has come up with crypto related news related to holdings and bitcoin mining using nuclear power plant of the country.

19 year old Ukrainian politician holding $24 million in Monero

So we can't say who is holding btc from how long because everyday we came across news where Bitcoin adoption is witnessed.
3863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The self exclusion scheme, anyone have any experience regarding that ? on: April 06, 2021, 04:04:49 PM
Here is one quote from the article mentioned by OP which depicts some reasons for such surges:

Quote
Matt Blanks, a project manager at Peer Aid, a scheme that helps people who are addicted to gambling, began betting aged 11. He lost more than £700,000 and tried to take his own life.

See I have not personally experienced self exclusion scheme because I am not gambling addict at this time. Most people grew interest in online casinos and gambling during lockdown as we have seen casino and Exchanges audience have increased at fast pace. But a coin has always two side this rise has lead to people becoming gambling addict and trying to loose more than they afford in hope of winning huge amounts due to greed. They are opting for such schemes which allow user to block gambling whenever they try to enter the casino or place the bet until a specified period of time which is justified move and people are opting it according to their own wish.It is good option for people to avoid becoming addict as when the chain is broken it's hard to grow such habits easily.
3864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: donate with Bitcoin on: April 06, 2021, 01:13:58 PM
Dorsey is big Bitcoin supporter and he is also running Bitcoin node as mentioned by him in one of his tweet.Recently he auctioned his first tweet which was sold for $2.5 million and all the money was donated to Charity group which is really interesting and appreciable move on his part.Governments should also recognise these types of news instead of bringing only illicit activities associated with Bitcoin into limelight. The NFT owner might not be able to use tweet in effective way but it became a cause for some progressive work in underdeveloped regions of Africa. So we need to promote such causes and this will eventually help Bitcoin adoption at mass scale.
3865  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: April 06, 2021, 12:44:24 PM
Congrats to BohdiTV with the six figure win on Sweet Bonanza today!

This is huge win on the part of player but still he managed or we can say he risked his amount and deserve rewards for that particular bet. This six figure win with base bet of $45k is far good from other casinos and Rollbit being transperent about their betting arrangements.Big congratulations to him on this win. Moreover Rollbit are new to the forum and listening to the suggestions of every member and most importantly working on them to implement them on casino site.Transaprency is present on third party games as said by them they pay directly for win to the rollbit players from their funds and pay third party fees for the bet.Keep working in the same manner and you will definitely gain a good reputation in the market.
3866  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you had 4,000.00 USD, what would you invest in? on: April 05, 2021, 05:21:12 PM
Investing $4000 is risky if you don't afford to loose that much in this highly volatile market of Cryptocurrencies. So I would suggest not to put all your eggs in one basket and portfolio diversification is key factor in trading but you should choose wisely different coins that have future ahead with growing demand and development.I would not suggest you to invest in any shitcoins in the market and you can have a look at the past graphs of coins and have regular follow up of their technical leads before investing. Some of the top coins of CMC like Bitcoin,ETH,Litecoin,DOT will eventually give you profits in the long run so you could definitely invest in them.Rest decide your own future.
3867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs everywhere ! on: April 05, 2021, 03:39:59 PM
By participating in several quizzes and amas i was able to get a considerable number of informations about many new crypto projects but the thing that maked me really wondered is that almost all of them adopt nft's...do you think guys this normal and in your opinion why nft's get all this huge attention from crypto developers?
If you closely witness the NFT market you could see it is diluting and trend is becoming not so hyped these days.It was normal pump for the market and after NFT being sold in millions of dollar the market was flooded with different types of Non fungible Tokens ranging from digital artworks, gaming, song collection, tweet and some other categories. At this time there are more sellers than buyer which is why demand is becoming less but still it is high for some major companies who are publicly trading digital artworks for NFT as people have trust on them and they have some quality materials with them. But slowly this trend will came down the hill to normal market conditions.
3868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Atari Set to Launch Cryptocurrency Casino Featuring Atari-themed Games and NFTs on: April 05, 2021, 03:24:36 PM
It seems Atari has procured this gambling license for a record 7.5 million dollars in the last financial period.

https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2020/08/13/2077631/0/en/Annual-Financial-Results-2019-2020-Atari-delivers-another-financial-year-of-profitable-growth.html

So I assume that they won't be planning a very simple crypto casino here considering the amount of licensing fees they have paid. It's definitely good to see known brands are jumping into the crypto gambling bandwagon. Hopefully such known entrants will increase the overall reputation of this market.
Seriously they have spend huge amount as license fees but they might not be planning a simple casino because they have deep pockets being the favourite gaming house for every 90's kid.We all have played their games and still remember them and now following the crypto gambling trend they are also entering this market with NFT announcement as additional package. It would be really interesting to watch which games they have included in the site and what crypto pairs they are allowing to use to deposit. They can provide tough competition to other casinos in the market if they develop user friendly interface and provide some unique gambling experience.
3869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Your Bitcoin Wallet Be Hacked? How Can You Secure It? on: April 05, 2021, 03:05:57 PM
There are many people in 2021 that have decided Bitcoin is the future - and they aren't wrong either!

One question a lot of people are asking is whether your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked or not - well, can it? And is there a way to secure these funds? https://4king.com/can-your-bitcoin-wallet-be-hacked-how-to-secure-your-funds/
Hackers are always trying to find a way to hack into your online wallets and have access to your funds but if you have proper backup and knowledge of how to secure your funds in wallet you are less liable to be hacked. You can use hardware wallet like Trezor which almost zero probability of hacking and your funds are secure. You can follow some following steps to avoid getting hacked :

1) Don't share your private keys with any other person asking you for keys

2)Avoid clicking on phisshy and scammy links or emails which can install malware in your software and you loose access to your wallet and funds.

So our security is our prime responsibility and we can't rely on any third party for such things.

3871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Marvel featuring Bitcoin!!😀 on: April 04, 2021, 12:24:25 PM
However, this is good news, as it will most definitely act as a stepping stone for bitcoin's recognition in various parts of the world.

It's advantageous to be included in a film with millions of viewers and it will result in widespread adoption because they are already aware of it. Take note that Marvel has a ton of fans, including myself, and bitcoin's widespread usability in the public is a big accomplishment and might even influence the price of btc.
It might not have short term price effect on Bitcoin but with Marvel once again mentioning Bitcoin in their series is definitely a good and positive sign of it's adoption.Marvel has huge fan base with average 62% of Americans being Marvel Fan and earning billion of dollars in form of revenue. This types of short scenes by such reputed production houses will have impact on Bitcoins growth in future.Who knows they start using Bitcoin in more wider term in their super Hero films and comics in the long run.

do you have Bug on your account? because This shows in mine

There are another account that ranks second that differs from your screenshot.

But anyway I think that's just a Bug and nothing to worry.
<snip>
It's a leaderboard. Expect that it is subject to change every time set by the Rollbit. Probably every minute? I'm not sure, but there is no bug there. Since those users on the leaderboard wagers, their wagered amount on that board will increase.

I might say that this is really nice promotion from Rollbit Smiley How long does this daily competition will lasts?
Yes it is live leaderboard of Rollbit casino and players changes every second according to the bets placed by them. They have two separate leader boards one for all bets and other for the gamblers who have placed high bets.So you can check both of them. There is no particular bug in the site and you will see different names every time you open the rollbit site on your browser. They have set the script which changes leader board with every bet placed similar to Roobet total number of bets placed changes every milisecond. So it's the case with every casino.

I am creating this thread to spread some awareness among the newbies related to crypto scams which are becoming very popular these days.Scammers and hackers are fooling people to get their funds in different ways and people who have no knowledge of crypto market ends up losing thier money to them easily.

Table Of Contents:

1.What is cryptocurrency scam
2.Types of crypto scams
3. Some crypto scams in history
4. Tips to avoid them

What is Cryptocurrency Scam

As it is clear from the name "scam" that something is phisshy is going around.Whenever a hacker or scammer ask users to deposit money on fake address or if people get hacked and they lost their money to fake sites or persons it is called scam. For example: You saw an advertisement claiming that you can double your coins and when you click on the link and deposit the funds over there you cannot trace them and you just became a victim of crypto scam. These types of scams are similar to normal ones in fiat but only thing is that it's tricky to judge crypto scams as they are more technical and people have less knowledge of them so they lost their funds. These types of things contribute to such scams

Watch out for anyone who:

-guarantees that you’ll make money
-promises big payouts that will double your money in a short time
-promises free money in dollars or cryptocurrency
-makes claims about their company that are not clear

Types of Crypto Scams

With growing crypto market and btc and other altcoins becoming popular the number of scams are aslo arising day by day due to profits associated with them.Hackers are finding new ways to fool people and get funds from them without their knowledge. Here we will discuss some of them briefly. Some of the scams are mentioned below:

(1)Social Media Scam

They are one of the new scams which are becoming popular these days and under this scam hackers gained access of twitter backend to hack the Twitter accounts of celebrities to and then ask for crypto donations from people to a fake address. They also tweets like "double your coins" and people who are greedy and have no knowledge of this sends funds to them which cannot be recover afterwards.

(2)Cryptojacking

Cryptojacking is when scammers use your computer or smartphone’s processing power to “mine” cryptocurrency for their own benefit, and without your permission. Scammers can put malicious code onto your device simply by your visiting a website. Then they can help themselves to your device’s processor without you knowing.
If you notice that your device is slower than usual, burns through battery power quickly, or crashes, your device might have been cryptojacked.

(3)Mining Scams

Cloud mining allows regular investors without expensive hardware to mine cryptocurrencies. There are many fake pools who will just promise high returns and in the end you will not get any return in the end and get scammed easily. The only one profiting from this will be miners not you.You rent your server space at fixed rate but you will not get any interest over them if it is fake so choose wisely.

(4)Fake crypto Exchanges

Another major types of scam in which many users fall unintentionally is presence of fake crypto exchanges which deposit users funds on thier own address and when the user base increases and they have huge funds they just vanish.Back in 2017, a South Korean fake exchange was operating under the name of BitKRK. While it looked legit and presented itself as a part of the crypto trading community, it swindled investors and buyers out of millions of dollars before it was intercepted by the South Korean financial authorities.

(5)Ponzi Schemes

Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors. A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scam which generates returns for earlier investors with money taken from later investors. This is similar to a pyramid scheme in that both are based on using new investors' funds to pay the earlier backers. The hackers never invest their money and people loose funds at rapid pace and when the customer grows and they can't cope up they collapse and scams are open to the public. These types of ponzi schemes have become very common in crypto world and you need to avoid such schemes.

Some crypto Scams in history

1) OneCoin:To start it off it was never a cryptocurrency (means it got no blockchain) however for years to this day it is promoted as a cryptocurrency with great success. According to unofficial sources they’ve scammed more than $19.4b out of OneCoin users. Official sources are talking about $4.9b, however, the officials are working with leaked papers that have the data from 2014 to 2017, not including the boom in 2018 and 2019.

2)Bitconnect:Everyone in crypto space knows Bitconnect. When you think of a cryptocurrency scam you instantly think of a Bitconnect. It was released in 2016 as a so-called lending platform a proper Ponzi-scheme. During the time it runs, it was promoted by huge YouTubers that were earning money through ref links. CryptoNick, Trevon James, and Craig Grant were actively promoting it. They scammed around $3M combined from their communities.

3)Pincoin and iFan:Pincoin and iFan where tho ICOs run by the same company Modern Tech. The companies were offering 48% of a profit for investors just after a month and full investment recovery after 4 months. Modern Tech was accused by several reports as being a Ponzi scheme. The founders were able to steal as much as $660M. There were many protests organized by the victims of a scam outside of their office in Vietnam.

How to avoid them

1) Never give anyone remote access to your machine. This effectively gives the scammer full access to your computer, online financial accounts, and digital life.

2)Do not reveal your 2FA security codes or password to someone in any respect.

3)Do not fall for screenshot, phisshy email asking you to deposit funds over a particular address in order to double your coins immediately (which is definitely a scam) as there is no legit site for this work.

4)Do a proper research before investing, about the exchange,ICO and check for grammatical errors in the links like fake sites don't have https or SSL certificate so have a look for it.

5) Don't be greedy in this digital and decentralised market because it will lead you to loss of funds directly.

6)Become experience and have knowledge of the market before investing blindly in any of the project.

3874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the institutional coin on: April 03, 2021, 03:59:44 PM
I see bitcoin becoming an institutional coin in the nearest future. institutions are beginning to buy bitcoins in billions of dollars. this will automatically reduce the amount of bitcoin in circulation thereby forcing up bitcoin price.
The major institutions are investing huge funds into the Bitcoin market due to their billions of dollars funds and yes they are taking advantage of this by gaining huge profits but we need to understand that even after such huge investments they are getting tiny share of the total supply due to price increase in btc and circulation in market shrinking.Retail investors are also slowing moving and growing into the market and funds moving into market cap. This image illustrates that retail investors are slowing taking over the market and in long run both will play hand to hand.

3875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm wondering who trades with paid signals? on: April 03, 2021, 03:11:49 PM
Good afternoon to all traders. I have 6 years of experience as a trader, and here I have a question for everyone

Are there people here who want to join a team of traders and receive tone signals?
Traders generally don't follow these types of telegram signal groups these days because of increasing frauds day by day and it's really hard to tell which one is legit and which one is not.You need to provide your history charts of trading and profits margin and your user experience who gained under you guidance and that's the only way people will beleive you and subscribe to your paid service. Moreover what coins you suggest will also be a considering factor for the people because most of the times these groups promote shitcoins in the market as they are scammers and paid promoters for such coins who get their share easily.Proof of legitimacy is key factor if you are providing services in this highly volatile market.
3876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should loot boxes be banned in videogames? on: April 03, 2021, 02:35:56 PM
A recent study is showing that during the pandemic addiction to loot packs has grown, with 24% of those participating in a survey feeling they are addicted to them, do you think they should be banned for young people? Obviously most games rely on a random element when it comes to make their mechanics work, but when you can use real money to buy those loot boxes without really knowing what you are going to get you are crossing a line and it seems to me this should be considered gambling, what do you think?

https://news.sky.com/story/children-addicted-to-video-game-loot-packs-in-lockdown-gambling-support-groups-warn-12262946
Yes people are becoming addict to videogames and they are spending their real and hard earned money to buy various items from custom boxes in the game which they don't what they will get.Just in order to get upgradations and costumes or skins they spend large amount of funds just to purchase coupons in game from which they will not get any benefit.I have heard some cases where child gamers have spend lakhs in game on these stupid loot boxes without the parents permission. But who knows a professional gamer is just selling his in game costumes or anything obtained from loot boxes in the form of NFT ? But at this time only company is benefitting from these types of promotional loot boxes and gaining huge profits from gamers. So we need to stop such kind of schemes.

There's a lot of good options on this site to funds your account and they keep on adding new options like LTC is coming and hopefully they'll add more cheaper tokens like DOGE because ETH and BTC are too expensive for me, Rollbit is growing and its good that hey have a good daily rewards as well. Looking forward for more updates, and when I get my funds I'm sure start using this platform.
like me who are still patiently waiting for the developer to add other Altcoin options for deposits...
BTC and ETH fees are already above $ 5 and it certainly makes me who are small capital players reluctant to make deposits. btw, there is also a feature that makes me curious about it is 'exchange', what is it used for?
At current they are dealing only in top and most trusted coins like bitcoin and ETH as crypto deposit but I agree with you that fees are quite high.Eth is relatively witnessing much higher gas and network congestion which can be a issue but if we you withdraw one big amount instead of cashing out your small winnings you will pay less fees automatically. They are also planning to add LTC which could possibly cater to fees problem and promote the casino to more users with advanced gaming and crypto trading experience.Just waiting for more development by the casino which they are showing in good manner.
3878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Marvel featuring Bitcoin!!😀 on: April 03, 2021, 01:07:29 PM
The Marvel Cinematic Universe or so called Marvles studio famous for it's superhero films and series has just promoted Bitcoin in their style in one of the episode of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" premiered on Disney plus.It is text message which is Bitcoin bounty.

Quote
Power Broker, being the newest episode showed one of the characters receiving a text message that reads: Selby Dead.1k Bitcoin bounty for her killers.1000 Bitcoins is equivalent to $58.8 million. The message was received 24 minutes into the episode

It was really surprising and good news being both Marvel fan and Bitcoin enthusiast as Bitcoin is becoming quite a great topic these days and everyone is showing their willingness to adopt to the most advanced digital and decentralised monetary system.Any Marvel fan here is aslo excited from this?

We have been witnessing some huge surge this year and prices have went high to $60k this time and after market correction we are once again touching $59k mark with some institutional and retail investments at mass level. This is showing signs of btc becoming mainstream and adoption at large scale. So now the main point is bearish trend may come but in the long run we will see only bull market as we have seen in the past.2017 crash was extreme situation which is not possible due to back up by market investors and adoption by major institutions funds will keep on flowing in the market. So just HOLD.
3880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie finding his way around crypto investment on: April 02, 2021, 01:25:55 PM
I keep feeling hesitated and crypto keeps growing, enough is enough, I'm new to this space and I'm looking into investing in altcoins, I have 1200$ in USDT right now and I can only take risk with 200$, I'm looking into vechain and harmony, looking forward to hear from people on here, are these two altcoins worth the risk? Can vechain hit 1$ in weeks??
You need to take some extra Risk if you are expecting profits more than your risk as you want to invest $200 in altcoins and expecting growth of funds with 1000% in short span of time. You can put your investments in some stable and good coins and take out some portion to invest in Bitcoin also which will give you immense returns.Vechain is good project but at this time it is already trading at $0.09 and grown 800-900% already this year and can witness correction or drop anytime soon and this might lead you to panic selling.See this chart of CMC below

Moreover more than 800 nodes have voted to reduce the VechainThor's Base gas Price as it will be next step to determine the future of Vechain. You can surely invest in it if you want to Hold it for long term as we can see $1 most probably by year end if same pace continue. But don't depend too much on alts.
