3861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Single pair trading or double pair? on: September 20, 2021, 07:45:03 PM
So I started my trading journey some time ago with a single pair but am considering expanding trading capacity and capital so am wondering, should I continue trading on a single pair but with large capital, or I should trade on double pairs.

Do I need your sincere advice?
If you're already profitable on the single pair I don't see why you should want to seek more capital and sink it there just to expand into more pairs. Why not you allow the account grow slowly but steadily. That way you also get to build your confidence level and have a full mastery of your trading system and plan. No trader is profitable just because they trade many assets or instruments. No, it doesn't work that way. In fact, it misleads and distracts traders who do so, except they already had a firm grip on the system they've. There are traders who only trade Bitcoin and are profitable doing that.
3862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bag holders of SOL? on: September 20, 2021, 04:14:50 PM
hi,

it happened to me before with CHZ, now it seems history repeats and I ended up with a bag of SOL. Grin
What's best in my scenario, still trade it and accumulate more SOL, sell and look for something else or holding it hoping one day i'll reach again $200?

thanks
To baghold means to keep holding tokens/coins that have become worthless in value. Going by that definition, which is a universal truth, it then means your tag on Sol isn't correct. Solana may have dropped in price from >$213 to its current price at $143, it's still a great coin and there's enough room for it to bounce back and even surpass its ATH. Again, if we take cognizance of the fact that it was sold for less than $0.60 less than a year ago we should be able to understand how marvelous Sol is. I encourage those who hodl to still keep hodling. It's just a market correction it's going through ATM. Nothing to panic about here.
3863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIB the new tough competitor to DOGE on: September 20, 2021, 04:00:16 PM
Shiba Inu isn't just a meme coin, I think they just used the meme concept to get a community since that is what is trending now.
I don't think that's the case, that it's tagged a memetoken just because memetokens are trending. No, that's not the case. It's actually what it is – memetoken. Except there's a change of concept and its huge 1 quadrillion is burnt to reduce supply, otherwise it remains a memetoken. What marks it out from other memes is that Shiba has an effective and hardworking team that's making sure technical development is constantly reviewed.

Shiba Inu has developers constantly working in the platform which is why they were able to launch their decentralized exchange, it just need time and volume for the decentralized exchange to catch up although if you are picking interest in this project, you have to be very careful as nobody knows the future of meme like projects.
This is where it surpasses Dogecoin. The constant work on this token has taken it where it's today. There are other community based tokens that later got abandoned by their developers and the projects crashed. I have a lot of them I know and a few that I bought into. It's cash gone down the drain. Seeing the speed at which a lot of exchanges listed Shiba should tell anybody that it's a great project. Remember that Dogecoin only got listed on Binance of recent (last year, I should think) after several years of its existence. But Shiba was an instant hit. While Shiba has a huge supply of 1quadrillion, Dogecoin has an infinite supply. The infiteness in Dogecoin could even get it to over any number above what Shiba has or below it, no one knows this. In all, I will invest on Shiba before Dogecoin if I were faced with a choice to make between both.
3864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: telegram channels of bounty managers ?? on: September 20, 2021, 11:38:39 AM
Keep in mind that many of these bounty groups run only scam bounties, as there's no repercussions. Basically if you complain, they mute you and carry on.
Then again, who does altcoin bounties anymore? 99% of them are scam or not worth it
That observation was what discouraged me from participating anymore in bounties. In the past I gave bounties my time as a way of marketing them by advertising and sharing their updates on social media, and even here through signature campaigns. Regrettably, I realized that most of the managers who managed these projects can't be trusted. What they're after is their payment alone and they don't worry to do anything for bounty hunters when project teams renege on rewards. That's a mark of betrayal for me. Again, most of the bounties end up dead on arrival. So, if OP wants to participate in bounties they should be careful because most of them are scam.
3865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for being in crypto. on: September 20, 2021, 09:53:16 AM
Answer – B. It was B before A came in, and now I can say Both. It was the potentiality of profit to be made by trading or hodling Bitcoin that first drove my curiosity to it  In fact, I likened the Bitcoin idea to trading in the Forex market and that was it for me as someone who already was conversant with FX. I didn't even know there was any web of technicalities involved with Bitcoin until I started studying it. Now I earn both ways – the cash and the knowledge. If not for this forum where I have gained much of the knowledge, I would've fallen for cheap scams which I now smell miles away easily.
3866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you see the true bear market coming? on: September 19, 2021, 07:08:31 PM
On hindsight, and in accordance with experience garnered over the years; I will tell you that next year (2022 ) will be a bear year. Experience has taught me that two years after the post-Bitcoin halving year (that's a year after Bitcoin halving takes place) is always a bearish year. Now back to the OP, I'm going to pick the end of the first quarter of the year – 2022 as when the bears will be unleashed. History has always found a way of replicating itself and I don't see it changing here. At least, not anythime soon.
3867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc $100k prediction by eoy on: September 19, 2021, 06:12:33 PM

I don't think it reaches $60k last month, last month was a hard for for bitcoin but I agree with you, btc have done surprisingly this year. No one ever think it gonna reach reach $60k this year before it went all down again and hovering around $45k and $50k
From data on Coingecko, Bitcoin touched $64,000+ on Apr 14, 2021. You may want to check that out yourself here https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin
3868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I the only one having this feeling?🤔🤔 ( #Bitcoin ) on: September 19, 2021, 03:42:27 PM
If you don't know something's existence, you aren't affected. If I had never heard of Bitcoin, my life would continue normally.
That's absolutely true. We only fear what we know or think exists. This isn't to talk down on Bitcoin at all. I'm a great beneficiary of the creation of Bitcoin but the truth remains that before Bitcoin was created, life went on well. And we didn't even know there was something we missed. Nobody knew the extent that life was going to change with the introduction of a phenomenal like Bitcoin that has now made this paradigm shift all too conspicuous. However, there are some who would tell you that their introduction to Bitcoin wrecked and ruined them and made a mess of their finances. And they won't be wrong saying it. At least the man who sold his belongings and invested in Bitcoin at its ATH in 2017 and panic sold it in 2018/19 won't want to praise Bitcoin. That's a fact.

On the ease of payments and transaction transfer, Bitcoin has really made life more meaningful than it was years ago in comparison. Anyone who disputes this won't be telling themselves the truth.
3869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my first post on: September 19, 2021, 02:15:17 PM
I have read all the rules guiding the forum and spent days getting myself familiar with how things work here, your advice and opinions on how to be a responsible member of bitcointalk are all am seeking.
If you said you read "all the rules guiding the forum and spent days getting myself familiar with how things work here...", and you truly did read them, then I think you should be ok knowing already how things work here; what is frowned at and what is liked. You're likely not going to need any other suggestions. Most of those who will be advising you here may not have even read the said rules you said you've read. Beyond all the pieces of advice you get here, I want you to stick to the pinned rules of the forum. At least, those ones are formal and official and are not getting deleted. Again, whatever you do steer clear off plagiarism.
3870  Other / Meta / Re: Charles-Tim merit source application on: September 19, 2021, 05:36:46 AM
This is a nice suggestion. Although, it is actually more than 10, there are some that were from the same threads which I included as one and also the ones I saw in scam accusation are many which I included as one, and yet there are still many more I have but did not include when I noticed the OP was getting too bulky.
Don't allow the numerosity of posts to merit scare or cause you confusion. I like the fact that you've already merited a lot of them yesterday. That's a good way to start. Ride on, bro. It's in a place of conscience for man to want to do the right thing and it's determination that makes them actually do it. I believe your request comes from that place of conscience and I hope theymos grants you that speedily. Again, I sincerely hope you get in as a merit source to make it a second source in our local board.

3871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Musk is going to hurt the Crypto Industry, sign this petition on: September 18, 2021, 08:58:31 PM
First and foremost, Elon is a human being who has rights to do what he desires to do provided it isn't against the law. Being a wealthy person on earth comes with a lot of privileges and Elon Musk has got that privilege which is his influence. I ain't sure he's coercing anyone to buy the tokens he supports. It's just that people believe and trust his judgment on investments and tend to move in his direction. Trying to petition him will end in futility. It's like petitioning Lionel Messi because Barcelona fans switched support to the new club Messi moved to. It doesn't really make any sense because it falls flat on its face, so to say, just on a first review.
3872  Other / Meta / Re: Charles-Tim merit source application on: September 18, 2021, 05:19:31 AM
There are times I am left with 0 smerits, but recently having more than usual just because of the merits I received today, but the point is there are some quality posts that I will wish to merit but not having enough merits. Also, the main reason I request for this is because I am very active on this forum, I visit this forum frequently and such person will be able to do the work of merit source as I believe people welcome this with the quality posts I have contributed on this forum.
But of course, even merit sources also run out of merits too. I have read some of them complain that way too. No amount of merit is ever enough for merit sources who are active on the forum. You're an active member of this community no doubt (sometimes I wonder if you do even find time outside this forum 🤔). It will be nice to get you on board as a merit source. I hope you get it so you can evenly spread out merit on posts and be a little more generous on quality posts rather than the stable 1 merit you always splash on them 🙄.

3874  Other / Meta / Re: Delete/Merit button on: September 17, 2021, 05:45:18 PM
But I agree with adding a delete button. If a user realizes that he made a wrong or shit post, then he could clear that.
That's the main reason for this thread – the delete button. The merit issue there should just be seen as an addendum.

mellifluously
"My, what a big vocabulary you have," said the wolf.  Lol.  I haven't even seen that word since I studied for the GRE about 20 years ago.
Well, 🤔. It could be, possibly because pharmacists are more concerned about health than high sounding words 😆
3875  Other / Meta / Re: Delete/Merit button on: September 17, 2021, 03:32:01 PM

Well, perhaps you will need to go back to my post and realize that the screenshot I shared was from my profile, not from a random user's. I'm talking about the ease of a poster trying to delete their own posts from their post history without having to go through the stress of opening it in the thread it's posted on before being able to delete it. May be others posting here also missed that view that the shot was from my profile. I don't know why it appears the same way when one also views post history of others. But the sample I shared there is my own post and I'm asking why it doesn't have a delete button like we have when one creates a thread?

In case anyone missed what I'm asking for here, that screenshot captures it well with the circled part in green. I'm asking if it's possible to make every post one makes have that at once from the post history, rather than go to the thread to open and delete it.
3876  Other / Meta / Re: Delete/Merit button on: September 17, 2021, 12:16:52 PM
I used to want a quick merit option like you're suggesting but I've grown to like the merit button where it is. It kinda makes you consider the context when sending merit. For example a short sentence could be or could be not meritorious depending on whether it concisely and precisely answers someone's question, or just adds some useless noise on page 54 of a spam megathread. Same with a 5-paragraph post that may seem merit-worthy on its own, but if it repeats something that's already been said then maybe not.
Precisely, what got me to start this thread was the absence of the "Delete" button but I decided to add "Merit" to it as I thought it wouldn't do any harm in killing two birds with one stone, so to say.

This has been mentioned before and I think it was a design decision by Theymos (didn't comment on that thread).
Please, I will be glad if you could share that link here, bearing in mind I'm referring to the "Delete" button issue. I will like to read how the issue was tackled from the perspectives of other posters.
3877  Other / Meta / Delete/Merit button on: September 17, 2021, 11:49:48 AM
My observation is very simple yet I don't know why it actually escaped the eagle eyes of moderators and administrators or it had been discussed here before. The bottom right side of that uploaded picture shows "Reply", "Quote" and "Notify" buttons and I'm wondering why "Delete" and "Merit" buttons aren't included too so that one can easily and mellifluously carry out those functions without necessarily going through the threads where such posts and comments were made. If there's anyone with the answers, they should kindly equip the community with them.

3878  Other / Meta / Re: How do I add an image to my profile? on: September 17, 2021, 11:21:39 AM
This will perfectly answer your question: Newbie with avatar?
I actually visited that thread and was wowed to discover that at a point in time newbies were allowed to even wear avatars on this forum. BTT must have grown from basic to the complex state it's now. This is sure a long history for BTT. I know more restrictions and twerking will come up in the near future. The twerking is a progressive sign anyway, and a way to record progress and catch up with modernity. I joined this forum pre-merit and all that was needed to rank up was mere posting and its activities, it didn't matter whether one made valuable posts or not. It's a good thing that a mechanism is now in place that checkmates spamming and shitposting, at least to some extent.
3879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The greedy must be poor on: September 17, 2021, 08:41:48 AM
Your use of "Must" in the title topic – The greedy must be poor–, makes it sound like you actually know how it will end, and that's regrettably not true. You think those who bought Bitcoin in 2010 and sold off when it touch $10 will agree with you on that or those who bought in Dec 2020 and sold before May 2021? Definitely, not. Crypto is a highly unpredictable business. It's like biscuits and can break whichever way it pleases. I have been a victim of hodling and the token went to zero. An example is with MB8. I don't know whether to say MB8 scammed or not. The truth is that all the promises from the MB8 team proved to be lies and the project is nothing now to write home about. At a point I had >$3,000 worth which are worth nothing today. It sucks, really. I have also been a beneficiary of hodling certain tokens that gave me great gains. So, it's either way. There's no certitude that one will become poor if one doesn't dispose a coin once it makes profit. It could also make more profit too.
3880  Other / Meta / Re: My post got locked? on: September 17, 2021, 04:51:50 AM
Thanks for the info, I didnt know that gambling threads got locked that frequently.
And now that you've got the answer you sought (and the thread in question has been unlocked now), you may also want to lock this particular thread. Except you await a moderator to lock it up for you 🤔
