where o where is the missing hash gone ....mmpool we would like to know...lmao this blocks has had more shares then any other and as brutal a cdf as i have had considering it has reduced 2 times since we went thru 2 diff changes and no block like i said im 5 btc in on rentals and cant really afford more and we are 25 th/s under our regular number which has been 100-110 today between 60-80 my hash is back to reporting as normal 4.0-4.2 but would like to know why phillips is showing so far under as westhash only charges for accepted shares

For now no one rent big on west or nice and run it here without really checking

My btc lost is small  maybe 0.03 or 0.032   but a 50th or a 100th rental would be more coins.

This error is the fault of either nice hash or  west hash or mmpool  or that both are getting  ddos'd    watch your rental's people.
Not sure it this is occurring with other rentals.

it just got so bad I ended the order.  I was getting almost 0 for 5th

see screen shots

38724  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Review of Avalon-4.1 on: March 12, 2015, 03:05:48 AM
I have been doing deep under clocks with my pair of avalon's

while hash rate is much lower with these underclocks I am getting down to .4 watts

this setting is giving me .4 watts a gh .   I need a day of testing, but if I stay consistent I am buying a 3rd unit.   Will post in a bit.

38725  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: March 12, 2015, 02:55:29 AM
Whoops, wasn't asking for advice on the power settings. BTW if you select any of the "Basic" settings, it auto puts those super high wattage figures in. Anyways, I'm happy with my current power to hashrate figures so not going to muck with those.

My pictures were intended to point out that I had the extranonce setting on 2 and was still seeing cgminer4.7.0 in contrast to what the previous poster mentioned. Trying to get that issue resolved.
As you have, plus adding #xnsub to the end of the URL and a restart worked for me on all miners.  i.e.
Code:
stratum+tcp://stratum.westhash.com:3334#xnsub

I have used this config and It doesnt seem to work in westhash.

Also, my miner has this config:

CGMINER Version : NA

what does that mean?

I cant enable extranonce.subscribe

you need cgminer 4.8 see below.  what is your firmware version?

I just got back from a meeting

my fixed 5th at westhash is 4 hours in and reads active speed 5.3648th

at mmpool.org i read

38727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Question? Voltage Drop? on: March 12, 2015, 02:00:31 AM
Unless your using 100-200 feet of extension cords, you should have very little voltage drop.A 3-6 foot cord will have negligible voltage drop.

A little "boost" may be ok,depending on the device's sensitivity.

Just keep a close eye on em & measure (volt, wattage, temp & performance) for a period of time to be sure your not harming them  Wink

What kind of cable are you using?  I see VERY noticeable voltage drops with even 24-36 inches.  That is with 16AWG Copper.

And I have never seen a 100 foot PCI-E cable before, from what I know I do not even think 12V is usable if you tried a 100 foot PCI-E cable.

you guys are talking ac and dc.

@ op what psu do you have that is adjustable dc?

this would be good to use with antminer s-5's

good news it is ramping up

it should get to  4.7-5.1th

I will post back with more screen shots

phillip are you using nicehash or westhash? i use westhash now consistently and have not had any recent issues i will state tho I have not rented hash in last 2 days have almost 5 btc in rentals on this block  Cry Cry Cry Cry

I use both this was with nice hash.  I will try with west hash.  It was allowing my inhouse at 4th but dropped that after an hour.

what I do not understand is on my end I kept mining so it looked like 4th was hashing away on the pool enbd it just declined from the 4th to 1th and I switched off my inhouse. I have a usb stick runnng at 4 gh just fine right now.   I can also say many pools are being attacked right now  not just this one.

here are current screenshots 9 hours fixed just started

38731  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's more lucrative - mining or high rank signature campaign? on: March 11, 2015, 08:46:13 PM
with the right signature campaign, you can get much more than mining at the moment

with a senior in rank(you don't need hero, since they share the same rate) you can earn 1-2 bitcoin a month easily, maybe even more, so a block in less than a year

with mining unless you run a big farm and very cheap electricity and you also made roi or at least 1/2 of roi, you can't match that

there are not many signature campaigns at the 2 btc a month mark that can be signed up for as of today.  Used to be
38732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Affiliate Network - Bonus Coins? on: March 11, 2015, 08:30:09 PM
I just started mining with BitAffNet, and was hoping someone could answer a question in regards to the Bonus coins; Doge and NMC.  For the bonus coins (Doge and NMC) payment address do I need to use Cryptsy, or will Coinbase accept them?  Thanks

I use to mine at GHash so I just use a wallet address at CEX.IO and trade them for BTC when there is enough.

you need to do something like this.  I have a tiny account with vircurex.com it collects dofe and nmc and dev and ioc coins from a few pools I build it all up trade to btc and withdraw
38733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: March 11, 2015, 07:32:03 PM
marketing is everything  Cool

yep  and if they opened at 439 and dropped to 419 we would all be happy.  Or certainly less annoyed.  meanwhile people are buying them.
38734  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's more lucrative - mining or high rank signature campaign? on: March 11, 2015, 06:26:28 PM
So, this isn't a self serving question, just curiosity.

What's going to get you to 25 BTC faster, mining or dedication to a signature campaign with a high rank (Sr Member or Hero)?

Maybe the better question is how long does it take for a miner to get their first block reward (of 25 BTC)? I can figure out the breakeven on the sig campaigns.

Based on your timing guess, how much equipment investment is required?

I have earned about 4 coins in a year with signature campaign. I post like mad I did this before I ever signed up for a campaign .

I do not think 4 coins a year is easy but 3 via signature can be done.

As for mining.  Much harder to figure. But lets say you grabbed the sp-tech 15 miner farm for 5500usd.

Lets say you run 10 at 1200gh and sold 5 for 450 usd each.

All of the above is possible but not likely.  this would mean the 10 you mine with cost you  3250 usd .  toss in 5 good psu's and you are 4000 out of pocket.

you started jan 1 .  so you mined for  72 days so far.

your power = 10 x 600 x 24 a day that is 144 kwatts or 14.40 a day at 10 cents make it 15 bucks a day in 71 days you spent  1065 + 4000 = 5065

what did you earn? hash rate was about 44.4 for those 71 days and 12th earns .1358 btc x 71 = 9.6418 btc x 293 usd = 2825 usd against 5065 spent  so you are losing  2240 usd. next 71 days you spend the same 1065 on power   you are 3305 in the hole

lets say diff is slow grow and you get 9 coins lets say that coins go to 300 that us 2700.  so 142 days into this year you are 3305-2700 or 605 in the hole.

71 more days 1065 for power  so 605 + 1065 = 1670 in the hole earn 8 coins slow diff grow coins go up a little bit to 325  8 x 325 = 2600

so 2600 - 1670 =  930 ahead 213 days into 2015   which at 325 a coin = 2.861 coins at july 31st 2015.

I just switched an avalon 4.1  to your pool to see if it picks it up
it picked up my in house avalon my inhouse sp20e's

so that is 1.4 + 1.3 + 1.3 = 4.0th  but no results for the nice hash.  I am ending the fixed contract since I can see wasting more of it.

thank goodness it was not a 200th purchase my lost hash power was under .03btc

I started at 0.049882 ended at 0.00721903 which means I spent 0.04266297   my dgm grew from .287 to .305 a gain of  0.018  With the amount of hash purchased 5th for fixed I should have grown  .045 not 0.018  so the vanished has was around 0.027 btc in dgm.

right now you are at 47-51th  I think I lot of rented hash is going poof right now.  I did switch 4 machines  onto your pool  . a double avalon 4.1 at 1.4 th and 2 sp20e's at 1.3th each these  all show working on my end.

on your end they are up to .9th but I realize they need time to charge up.

still a problem no credit for nicehash rental

this was a small rental but most has been not credited on your end.

I lost  maybe 0.02 or 0.03 btc

I am letting it continue in the hopes you could trouble shoot it.

it is a fixed order and has about 3 hours left.  if it does not credit total loss would be about 0.03 to 0.04 btc

your pools hash rate is really low about 45 - 50 th   i think there is an issue of some kind.

38738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 11, 2015, 03:24:47 PM
I'd avoid anything built by Technobit, Rockerbox or not. Those guys sorta have a history of screwing customers.

I'm hoping more third parties will get back into the game of building miners off mainstream manufacturers' chips. I'm working on a home-friendly design with Bitmain chips, talked to Spondoolies about chip sourcing but their per-chip power requirements don't really fit with the topology I'm looking at. Maybe next time.

let me know if you have one for testing.  would love to tinker with it.

38740  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [27th Feb] on: March 11, 2015, 02:37:06 PM
There is certainly a 'fiduciary' responsibility for anyone posting hardware reviews and guides etc to warn consumers of bad deals but this guide in particular is not concerned with that aspect and never has. It is primarily concerned with telling you what hardware is "good" although it lags significantly behind the consumers in what really is value for money given how long it takes to see ratings adjusted to the reality of the marketplace.

Currently there are no such ROI hardware deals available to the average small user and there will never be a time when that is possible ever again.

If you want to use that methodology, why does your guide have a thumbs up section at all? Surely all those companies (according to you) sell at a loss to the consumer and so should all be thumbs down?

And while you and I have had our fights on line  many companies do sell at high prices.  Many items do not have hope to make a profit.

As for bick saying  no current deal will profit for a small investor.

I actually think that at 469 shipped to the usa a s-5 will earn that back by nov, dec 2015 in a 10 cent a kwatt home with a psu on hand.
