3881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: buying monero on getmonero.org and then transfering it to a hard wallet on: May 06, 2021, 02:56:34 PM
@jakesun64, this isn't appropriate for this forum board. This discussion board is dedicated to Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related topics. Your altcoin-related question doesn't fit that description.
You should move your thread to Altcoin Discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0

...the SEC is also in constant motion monitoring possible money laundering, although casinos have nothing to do with it, some may see it as the perfect platform to manipulate large amounts of money, they see it as ideal, I know that KYC is something that nobody likes, but because others damage the site making some movements using the platform can look bad, it is already very difficult to remain anonymous, very few guarantee this.

As Roobet is not available in the U.S. anyway, the SEC doesn't have jurisdiction in this matter.

Thank you for bringing this article to our attention. This supports my argument that Roobet may not have a legal justification for requesting my personal information as I am an EU citizen.

European Union

The key pieces of legislation that guides AML and KYC compliance for EU online casino users are the EU 4th Money Laundering Directive and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (Malta).

These two directives outline pretty similar AML policies to the USA and UK but are a little more lenient on KYC. According to EU law, KYC procedures aren’t triggered until players deposit over 2000 EUR into an online casino account.

General Data Protection Regulation Article 5(1)(c) states that personal data shall be "adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed." So, personal data that is excessive or unnecessary cannot be collected and processed. So all they should ask for is my age (to confirm that I am of legal age) and my country of residence (which they can determine anyway via my IP address). Everything else is excessive, IMHO.
3883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether (ETH) Surges to Over $ 3.2K on: May 04, 2021, 03:42:38 PM
On this level, it would be very interesting to see how the market will react.
If the price keeps going down, then it might be a good opportunity to buy more ETH. The market is probably testing the resistance on the right hand side at $ 3,200. The drop must be caused by trading volumes. If this will continue, the price might retest the level $ 2,200.

I'm curious if room service is available in a hotel like this. Is it possible to have room service without having actual... rooms?  Grin

Fun fact : majority of Roobet's player dont come from this forum so as I have said. Feel free to comply or find another site instead of debating this pointless stuff all over again

Fun fact: the majority of members on bitcointalk are opposed to KYC, and if that isn't obvious to you, you might be on the wrong forum.
Feel free to comply or do whatever the heck you want with your personal information, instead of lecturing other forum members what they should or shouldn't discuss here.

It is pretty evident that fans of Roobet like you and some others have no issues with the KYC requirements, but the truth is that there will always be people who have issues with these requirements due to the crypto anonymity factor.

Goddamn right! This is a crypto space, and in my opinion, KYC contradicts crypto's principles.
3886  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: May 03, 2021, 08:43:05 PM
Its not an issue. Its a compliance

It is not, at least not in the full sense of the term. You cannot enforce one regulation while disregarding others, especially those regulating the individual's right to privacy and the protection of personal data.

Its a simple matter, if you dont want to comply with this then leave the site and find another place to play which doesnt require any KYC. I doubt that whatever you say or write will affect Roobet's decision to apply level 1 KYC for everyone unless you are one of their high roller then you might have a shot in convincing them to drop the KYC requirement

Well, we can certainly hope that with enough community pressure, we can collectively influence at least some of their decisions. This is a public forum after all.

What's more, since they are still promoted as a casino where we can play anonymously, I believe we have the right to discuss it in this thread.
3887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla and market manipulation crime on: May 03, 2021, 08:22:45 PM
It is indeed a market manipulation that Elon has done. Not just with bitcoin but also with dogecoin. He never indeed spoke about his dogecoin holding but I assume he must have invested few millions personally in dogecoin and then manipulated the price through his immensely popular twitter handle and booked a good amount of profit.

If the Financial Fraud Investigation Agency starts an investigation around such allegation, he will find that true!

These are all wild guesses. We don't know if Musk really owns DOGE, so it's difficult to say that this is a deliberate market manipulation.
3888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: May 03, 2021, 08:09:58 PM
-snip-

They are just having some fun and they don't want to reveal their identities, choosing crypto related casinos gives them tha privilege but if the house as for KYC the very chance that they'll away from the site and find new place to continue their activities.

That is exactly what happened recently with Roobet casino. They have been one of my favorite crypto casinos so far, but they have recently implemented mandatory KYC verification.

After the closure of YOLOdice, this is the second casino that has disappointed me this year, forcing me to search for a new gambling platform.
3889  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: May 03, 2021, 04:22:22 PM
Is this issue haven't done yet? the KYC thing.

Its not an issue. Its a compliance

It is not, at least not in the full sense of the term. You cannot enforce one regulation while disregarding others, especially those regulating the individual's right to privacy and the protection of personal data.

A quick glance at their Identity Confirmation form reveals a few critical details indicating that Roobet is not in compliance with EU GDPR regulations. Everyone who has worked in this area understands what I mean.

Furthermore, the way they implemented the identity verification prevents us from even reading their Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, which is both amusing and unprofessional, as well as illegitimate. I had to access the website via a new browser in anonymous mode to open them.

@Roobet, failure to comply with the GDPR carries heavy penalties. Just saying.  Wink
3890  Other / Meta / Re: Whats the point of this website? on: May 03, 2021, 11:12:58 AM
I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just wondering how this website differs from others. I never knew Satoshi used this website before, which sounds awesome to me!

There's more to it than that.
Not only did Satoshi use this platform, but he is also its founder.

I am looking for male/female Assistant for mobile phone application.

It's the most ambiguous job description I've ever seen. Could you please be a little more specific? What type of work do you expect from this position?
3892  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dogs or Cats? (Highly off-topic) on: May 03, 2021, 08:01:30 AM
Cats are easier to take care of compared to dogs

That's true. I don't have to worry about taking them for walks, cleaning up after them or taking them to the vet.
Also, your cat doesn't need a crate, a separate sleeping area, a feeding schedule, and all that other stuff a dog requires.

But there is just something about dogs that make me feel good. They can always make me smile, they are loyal and most of all they are friendly. I love being around them and I like to give them attention.

absolutely-positioned was active a few days ago but again decided to ignore this topic.

Anyway, if you still believe there is nothing wrong with providing personal information to various websites and dubious casinos, I would suggest that you read this first: Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

This thread should be sticky at the top of the section.

Btw Ratimov, you have a small mistake in "USEFUL TOOLS". #1 should be Brave and not BrabeWink

U need food Everyday!
Food costs money!
So.... Need to make money.

You can literally grow your own food for free. You can make your own bread. You can choose which crops to plant and take care of yourself.
People have been doing this for thousands of years.
3896  Other / Off-topic / Re: Living alone on Paradise Island on: May 02, 2021, 09:38:28 AM
I have some question for all of you Huh

No, I wouldn't want to live on a desert island by myself. I have a loved one, and I don't want to live the rest of my life apart from her.
So, assuming that the requirements (such as food, drinking water, and shelter) are covered, I'd like a decent laptop, a solar charger, and some kind of satellite connectivity to access the Internet.

I'd probably last a year or two. After that, I'd get bored and want to return to civilization.

3897  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dogs or Cats? (Highly off-topic) on: May 02, 2021, 09:22:18 AM
I'm a dog lover but my cats are free to come and go as they please. When I lived in a house I always had a cat or two hanging around.
Sometimes they'd take up residence in the attic or in my shed.

Trust Wallet is also my preferred choice. It is a multiwallet that supports a variety of cryptocurrencies in addition to USDT and other tokens on the Tron network. What's more, you can create several wallets for the same currency.
3900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: April 29, 2021, 01:41:40 PM
Is that what you think is happening here? Well I don't think so because just imagine if BNB team are not capable or maybe binance exchange team never had great team work everything would have been different for BNB and binance exchange, holding coins is like gambling that is what I believe in

Well, I think history has shown that you are wrong. Holding coins has proven to be the safest option.
