I voted for Italy, I do not have too many reasons except that I really dislike when a match is decided by the decisions of the referees, the penalty kick that was given to England on overtime against Denmark was ridiculous, there was only a slight contact and it was of the kind that it is allowed all over the field and even after there was a review the decision was upheld, soccer is a contact sport so even if there was a mild contact it was not enough to justify the penalty kick being given to England, so for that reason alone I hope they lose against Italy.
We should just hope for a good match where the better team wins. This is not always the case in tournaments such as this. The technical data and statistics indicate that England should win, but I personally support Italy. And, as you pointed out, let's hope this isn't yet another case when the referee's mistake decides the winner. |
