3901  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin physical coins makers still active as of today on: September 28, 2021, 01:05:21 AM
There are plenty more:

CryptoImperator still active and making incredible stuff. Follow here and twitter(?)
Kialara still active, last item was amazing. https://kialara.com/
Finite by design still active (the site is SLOW) https://finitebydesign.net/
The Shibe Mint sells everything as fast as they make it https://shibemint.com/
MrCryptoHodl here and on twitter seems to always put out amazing stuff
Liquidoptions makes the most under rated coins, funded, titanium and always super high quality. Usually makes something every quarter small releases
OgNasty and nasty fans has plenty available.

There are a lot of OGs still around.

I cannot figure out Spectrabit. Not trying to be snobby, but these feel mass produced and mass marketed, and I just do not understand mintage, who they are, the hologram that serves no purpose, etc. I usually feel like these types of coins, while great looking, detract from the value of the collectibles market.

Thanks for those links Steeley.

Kialara wallets are amazing works of art. I'm excited to see what comes out next. The price has gone up quite a bit though, I wish I knew about them when they sold the original ones, they were much cheaper then!

What if a user wants to come back? Whether this is Satoshi or someone else. I hate when email providers deactivate your account and don't allow you to reactivate it and delete all your data. That's silly to me when it literally takes up kbs in their database. I've lost some important information before because of this.

I'm still disappointed with Yahoo about my deleted geocities websites...

I miss those under construction signs and the fire gifs.
3903  Other / Meta / Re: What is the main reason you don't come to this website more often? on: September 28, 2021, 12:14:58 AM
It's a bit difficult to find stuff.

But I like the forum because it reminds me of the forums I used to go back in the days. I wish I came to this one instead in those times Smiley

Forgot to add these from Liquidoptions:

Set of 3 funded coins
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5359384.0
Three nice looking designs with a hologram on the back.
3905  Economy / Collectibles / Bitcoin physical coins makers still active as of today on: September 27, 2021, 02:56:42 AM
In my recent quest to get some nice looking modern physical bitcoins I've found out that most of the makers are long gone.
But there are a few out there that are currently still actively minting new coins, so I wanted to share them with the forum:

SpectraBit: 2021 Holographic Commemorative Bitcoin
https://www.amazon.com/2021-Holographic-Commemorative-Bitcoin/dp/B08TWDZTSH
This is a copper coin with silver cladding and 24k gold plating, designed and minted in the US. It's based on the original casascius design and has a nice looking hologram. It has no bitcoins loaded, or the ability to load them. It's a nice looking commemorative coin.
At the time of writing they still have stock available.

AlpenCoin: The First Swiss "Physical Bitcoin"
https://en.alpencoin.ch/shop
These coins are developed and created in Switzerland. They have nice looking holograms, and beautiful designs. They offer different options to choose from: funded, buyer funded, and DIY kits.
At the time of writing they have ran out of stock, but looks like they're going to continue minting more coins (hopefully!).

Cryptmint: Custom laser engraved QR code
https://www.cryptmint.co/collections/bitcoin/products/customized-silver-physical-bitcoin-wallet
This is an American mint that provides custom made physical coins with a QR code of your public key(or any text you want really) engraved. They give you the option of making your coin in silver or gold plated.
At the time of writing you're still able to make an order.

BitcoinPenny: Commemorative coins
https://bitcoinpenny.com/collections/coins
These are great looking commemorative pennies made in the US. They also have the option for DIY fundable coins with an awesome hologram. They're also planning to release new silver and gold editions.
At the time of writing they have ran out of all the pennies, but looks like they're going to continue minting more soon (hopefully!).

And that's all for now!, if you know of any other awesome bitcoin physical coin that is being minted as of today or in the near future, I would love to hear about it.
3906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK customers can now buy Bitcoin through Paypal on: September 27, 2021, 01:39:09 AM
PayPal doesn't allow you to withdraw your bitcoins though...

If you don't have your bitcoins in your own wallet, then they're not truly yours, as you have to trust the company holding them for you.

I think we're starting to see more and more "fake" bitcoins, where people think they have it, but in reality it's just an IOU.

Probably there might even be a difference in price in the future for "free" bitcoins instead of bitcoins that are trapped in a specific system like PayPal.

3907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difficulty of explaining Bitcoin to people is massive on: September 27, 2021, 01:28:24 AM
Digital scarcity wasn't a thing until 2009, so it's understandable that most people don't get it.

Also, most people don't really know how money works, and also are used to having central banks controlling it.

Bitcoin is truly revolutionary, so it will take some time for most people to get it.

The more I read about Bitcoin, the more I've learned about how money works, and the more I know how money works, the more I see Bitcoin is the future of money.

Yes, the Alpen Coin is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. But unfortunately they just sold out of everything... would be awesome if they do a new Vreneli for 2021. Or any new model really, I would be very interested.

The poster looks really cool, and the other stuff looks nice as well.

Yeah, looks like this is the best place to check out for new stuff, I'll check it regularly, thanks again!
3909  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Alpen Coin - “Switzerland’s first ever physical bitcoin” on: September 24, 2021, 04:44:29 PM
They look great!, but all sold out at the moment unfortunately.

I would love to get a Vreneli 2021, or any other new models.
3910  Economy / Collectibles / Are there currently any new nice collectibles? on: September 24, 2021, 06:26:01 AM
I've been searching for either physical coins, wallets, or anything interesting(not those cheap plastic coins) and looks like there's no current one at the moment. At least everything that I've found has either closed down or sold out.

I'm looking for something like these, but for 2021 and beyond:

  • Casascius coins: These were available from 2011-2013
  • Denarium coins: These were available from 2015-2020
  • Kialara wallets: These are amazing, but all sold out as of today. They might probably release something new so I'm keeping an eye out.

Maybe there is a mint somewhere in the world that creates a Bitcoin special edition, or something like that.

Is there anything like this available for purchase directly from the maker as of today? (not resold on ebay or something like that). Thanks!

3912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What happened to zawawa and gateless gate? on: June 08, 2021, 12:13:10 AM
It used to be a very popular miner but now it's all gone from github, and no new posts from that user here since a couple of years ago.
3913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining on an average pc on: June 08, 2021, 12:05:07 AM
Hello everyone.  Recently I thought about the possibility of mining on a personal pc.  What cryptocurrencies does it make sense / profitable to mine on a mid-range pc?  Will it kill the computer?

Probably not much money to be made, but you can make a couple of dollars worth of Bitcoin a week or two if you sell your hashrate to nicehash, using RandomX for the CPU and KawPow or DaggerHashimoto for GPU.

You can withdraw as little as 0.0001 BTC from NiceHash with lightning.
