3901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 11, 2014, 09:31:39 PM
There are different ways of looking at it. I think most will agree that the current price point is important.

Mooincoin?

I won't declare Litecoin dead until it clearly has deviated from its long-term pattern:

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/pair/ltc/btc/btc-e/alltime

That would mean a BTC mania with no corresponding LTC/BTC mania.

It's going to die eventually, the only question is whether or not they get another pump out of it first.

I'd say it's very premature at this time to expect LTC to die.  Not saying price is gonna go up but if it's still maintaining it's overall trend lines then that alone tells me LTC has a long ways to go.  It would be nice to see some things happening along the lines of development.

Since the march of Crypto has only barely started, I expect LTC to remain in the game for a while. I want to see it touch $250  Cool

There will be 40 billion Moons issued in a period of 26 days, with the majority the first 10 days (starting on Wednesday).

Cryptsy orders alone encompass 32 bln Moons down to 1 Litoshi. We will survive  Cool

Litecoin in a death spiral:

Not picking it up before USD 2.
3906  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reggie Middleton uses car analogy to explain that Bitcoin is not a bubble on: August 11, 2014, 05:32:51 PM
Only now I learn that The Reggie Middleton has joined this board. You are definitely on top of all major techno waves out there.

I admit I haven't tried Ultracoin yet but the question I keep asking myself is how real world assets are tied to the concept of Ultracoin. It's easy to exchange one electronic asset (e.g. a Litecoin) for some other electronic assets (e.g. Mooncoins). Lock the assets up and exchange. No trust needed, its all decentralised.

Now enter a USD / EUR swap. I cannot throw 100 dollars into Ultracoin through my CDROM tray. Even electronic dollars cannot be tied to Ultacoin just like that. The same goes for the Euro part of the swap transaction.

Will Ultracoin just tie these 2 promises together: promises to pay fiat?

Obviously, Ultracoin will not lock in the fiat dollars and euros. Can't be done with centralised systems for fiat currency. Presumably there is and will not be  a 'central' point of trust being Reggie's wife's USD and EUR bank accounts to accommodate this swap.

So what remains: locking in the equivalent of USD and EUR in Bitcoins? Then, parties are just exchanging Bitcoins. And how to deal with Bitcoin variations in price in USD vs EUR
EUR) ?

At current prices, I hope there is a buyer willing to soak up an additional $9,000 worth of Moon during the Apollo period. 25 bln Moons in a span of 10 days  Shocked
3910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: August 11, 2014, 07:18:56 AM
Litecoin has some trouble keeping up in USD but it's long from dead. Patience my friend.

Risto, could you please clean this thread from 9/11 WTC conspiracy theories. If you guys really want to discuss this, do so. But not in a freaking TA thread! The only buildings that may be discussed here, is the Mala castle!

Let them stay. The thread has many readers so regard them as "commercials" that you would have to endure while watching TV. The United States is trying hard to foment an actual, hot, war with Russia at present, and the spreading of lies is going so strong. There must be some truth to balance.

No way the US is provoking war. Otherwise a whistleblower would step up and tell all about that dirty little secret  Wink

Deprogramming is hard, and there is no turning back.
3916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 09, 2014, 10:37:07 AM
Not kill, just low prices.
3917  Other / Politics & Society / 9/11 derail: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: August 09, 2014, 08:36:44 AM
I respected Risto's intellect until I realized on this page that he's another of the 9/11 "truther" idiots.
It's not about intellect. It's other cognitive feature, I'm not sure what to call it. Skepticism? Gullibility? Self-deception? It's compatible with any level of intellect, from very high to very low.

Heh. When you respect someones intellect but suddenly lose that respect because you disagree with some conclusions (which were arrived at by a respectable intellect!) you lose that respect? Seems to me this says more about your intellect than his Wink

It's called human nature....

If into my bids: yes.

For the rest: HODL also applies to Moon  Grin
3919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: August 09, 2014, 08:29:17 AM
Is there not also hidden bullish between bottom #1 ($380) and #2 ($400), and regular bullish between #2 and #3 ($340)  Huh

Maybe they counteract each other and we will go sideways forever Cheesy
I think they already worked out

Any downside targets you are willing to share, masterluc? It's looking pretty bearish. Are we in for the full 3-year bear market? Undecided

That would make perfect sense.
3920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: August 09, 2014, 07:23:36 AM
As a bonus chart, about 2 years of coin issue:

Please note that this graph does not take into account the slow period of Moon where coin issue got stuck for a while. Therefore, strictly speaking the x-axis cannot be seen as a gradual movement in time until today's date and the 1 year mark is a bit off. However, that does not harm our analysis.

We are about to enter the phase whereby 25 billion extra coins will be issued (the 'Apollo period'). This will be between blocks 193,000 and 203,000 if I understand it correctly. That will be about 10% of the total coin issue in year 1. I'm planning to pick up some Moons during that phase should Moon go to 1 Litoshi during that avalanche. We should reach that phase by the end of August 2014.

Long before year 1 is done, coin issue will have dropped considerably. That's why I think accumulation during the 'Apollo period' is an interesting strategy.

Tx for the donation  Kiss
