3901  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetJA.com | $100,000 EURO 2020 Prize + Free BTC + MultiBet Insurance on: June 19, 2021, 01:32:48 PM
Welcome to the forum. The website loads without issues to me, and it's nice that you don't require KYC at all. And it's good that you have a faucet.
I've compared your odds with those of another sportsbook on a couple of games, and yours are indeed slightly better. However, it doesn't matter if you're actually charging $30 for withdrawal because then those small differences in odds don't make your casino better for gamblers anyway. I've also noticed that the withdrawal fee remark came up a few times in the thread, and yet you're not commenting on that.
3902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is really the value of Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2021, 04:41:56 PM
Many places fix the price in fiat even when accepting Bitcoin because Bitcoin is very volatile, so it's just easier to recalculate the particular sum at the moment of the purchase, but put the price tag in a more stable currency. But the USD doesn't give any value to Bitcoin, of course, it's just a point of reference to assess its purchasing power. Scarcity and demand are crucial when it comes to constituting BTC value, and even though 1 BTC = 1 BTC, I think it matters whether it's 1 BTC you can buy a flat with or 1 BTC you can buy a plane ticket with.
3903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EURO 2020: Do you ready with your bet? on: June 18, 2021, 04:17:42 PM
Are you sure with your choose Ukraine will going on to quarter final? I see not any chance for this country will speak more in EURO 2020 and see many other country potential get good result, I favorite with Italy become candidate to final and can get trophy EURO after last final defeat by Spain. Completed team and many young player give more spirit for Italy to get more and have show how they defeat Turkey 3-0 at first match stage.
I'm not sure, but I just want to support my country, so I've placed my bets a little blindly. Also, it does seem that so far Ukraine has been playing pretty good in Euro 2020, probably better than expected. We lost the match versus the Netherlands, but the 3-2 score is very good IMO. And then yesterday we won against North Macedonia. Also, if you look at the odds for Ukraine vs Austria, the draw has the lowest odds, but Ukraine winning the match has higher odds than Austria winning it. So far, so good.
3904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Lightning Network Solve ALL Scalability Issues? on: June 18, 2021, 03:57:02 PM
I think that even if the LN solved the scalability issues, altcoins would still be popular for trading and as a form of a long-term investment. Moreover, the LN is not exclusively for Bitcoin, so altcoins can also benefit from it. But honestly, I don't think it'll become the mainstream solution that we need because it had years to do so and didn't. Plus, people who open the channels do pay significantly, right? And there are centralization issues due to which some are against it, and then there are many crypto users for whom it's just too difficult to start using the LN.
3905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are all the golden rules of bitcoin predicting? on: June 18, 2021, 03:35:24 PM
I don't really understand this phrase. First come the news, and then the media spread it and the hype it created around some event. So I'd say buy the news, sell the hype because you should buy once something happened that'll make the price rise, and sell when the topic is overhyped and the price is this at its peak. In any case, this is not the rule of predicting, and it's really hard not to miss that moment when people are suddenly starting to buy or sell. It's easier to see the tendency for some time and then make a long-term investment when the price is pretty low for some time but isn't getting lower IMO.
3906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and CO2 emissions (Should we care?) on: June 18, 2021, 03:10:29 PM
I think we should case about the ecology and fighting climate change because the scientific consensus on this topic is crystal clear: climate is changing because of human activities faster than ever before. So being conscious about the energy and resources in general that we are using is important. However, you're right that many things are actually the responsibility of governments and big corporations, and they are out of our direct control. Moreover, even if everyone stopped mining Bitcoin at once, it wouldn't even make a significant impact on climate change because it's only a small part out of many that contribute to this global problem. So focusing on Bitcoin is unfair.
3907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity and Privacy while using Bitcoin. Which one is the right word to use? on: June 18, 2021, 02:28:01 PM
I don't think it's a language problem. At least, in my native language there are also two separate words for privacy and anonymity, so the issue of choosing the proper word persists. If we treat anonymity as merely the lack of identification by name, then Bitcoin can indeed by used anonymously. However, since all transactions are publicly available, it seems weird to call it an anonymous currency, so the term 'pseudonymous' is preferred. As for privacy, Bitcoin allows for some precisely because the transactions are not automatically linked to one's real identity, but it also doesn't seem to be the best word for describing Bitcoin because transactions can be easily traced and observed by anyone.
3908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There's no lottery ticket in Bitcoin, it's a savings account on: June 17, 2021, 06:02:27 PM
Don't buy now with your money and put it all into it to get rich.

Put a little each month, no matter the price. You would want that for your children and grandchildren.

DCA is the solution for not being able to get swindled when China bans bitcoins again.

No matter how long it takes, it will pay off. You won't lose your home or have to move back into your parents' house
When you put money gradually into Bitcoin, you should remember that the price can change drastically, making it invisible that you've put some money into BTC last time or compensating if you don't put it in. It might not pay off, that's the problem. It's always a risk, and investing each month is a pretty significant commitment and requires a lot of trust in BTC. Also, people are often putting some money into savings, intending to use some of this money within a year or two, and with Bitcoin it might turn out that the money isn't there when the person needs it because the bear market can last for years.
3909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most optimistic result of Bitcoin? on: June 17, 2021, 05:37:22 PM
I think the most optimistic outcome for Bitcoin would be to return to its roots, which is to play to the nature of bitcoin as a currency, as the opposite of global fiat currencies, coexisting with global fiat currencies and ready to replace the declining credit of fiat currencies, such as overissued US dollars.
Returning to its roots in terms of purpose is perhaps a good idea, but if terms of the levels of adoption, access to using it as currency and general publicity, it would be the death of Bitcoin.
I think that the most optimistic result would be if Bitcoin gets accepted as payment in supermarkets and cafés, and something is figured out about the fees, so people don't have to pay much for such things. And the number of users would get similar to that of the number of Internet users. But Bitcoin can also remain used for trading or as an investment. It doesn't have to be a choice, Bitcoin can successfully be many things.
3910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much power does Elon still have over the crypto markets? on: June 17, 2021, 05:22:58 PM
I think that his impact is currently lower than, say, a month ago, but there are always people whose opinions matter to many other people in any area, and given how Bitcoin is unregulated in terms of price and supply, it's more susceptible to changes and such people can affect the price significantly. People seek for authoritative figures, so that they can put some responsibility on other people and simply listen to things instead of thinking themselves. I think we should just accept it that Bitcoin is volatile and that media coverage, regardless of whether it's FUD or some real troubles, can trigger major changes of the price. But eventually Bitcoin recovers, so it's not a big deal.
3911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of gambler are you? The numbers guy or let luck lead the way.. on: June 15, 2021, 03:29:46 PM
It really depends on the game. If it's dice or slots, I can try out some 'strategies' occasionally, but I know they won't lead to anything, and it's just based on luck. Strategies can only help manage money (for instance, by decreasing the bet after each loss you can spend less money on gambling), but not make more of it. When it's sports bets, it's a whole different story. Sometimes I just place a bet carelessly, but I usually do some research and try to assess the situation because I really think skills matter in this area. Since you seem to be asking about bets on sports, I'm the numbers person.
3912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any opinions about the "Stopelon" coin? on: June 15, 2021, 03:01:10 PM
When I searched for videos about this coin, the top videos were in Russian. I wouldn't say it's a good sign. These are just projects, capitalizing on the hyped topic of Elon Musk. How can a low-key coin do anything to change what Musk does? And if they just want an evaluation higher than Tesla, it means they just want that power to themselves, basically. Of course, it doesn't mean that one cannot profit short-term from the hype around this coin, but it's a very risky venue and certainly isn't a good long-term investment. The coin is barely traded and can barely be traded, given how it's present only on one or two exchanges. I wouldn't risk buying it.
3913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a legal tender - The next ‘great filter’? on: June 15, 2021, 02:07:12 PM
If the merchants must accept Bitcoin, why is the word in single quotation marks? Or is it to signify that they must do it upon request, not in advance?
And if they must accept BTC as payment if someone wants to pay with BTC, will the necessary infrastructure for safe and fast Bitcoin payments be offered? And how to act till the first confirmation comes through, which might take a while?
Also, does it work in the opposite direction? If an employer decides to pay employees in Bitcoin, must they accept their salary in Bitcoin or can they choose to remain paid in USD?
There are many questions like this that arise, and I'm eager to find out how all this turns out in practice.
As for the predictions about the reaction, I think that there won't be official governmental responses from most countries, and they will largely just observe how it goes.
3914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin, Dogecoin Gain After Musk's Tweets, But Will There Be Another Bull Run? on: June 15, 2021, 01:08:22 PM
Op, do you mean stake coins when you say 'green coins' because they don't use mining? While it's true that they don't require all that energy which crypto mining takes, this comes with a significant setback: those who already have many coins are getting even more coins, thus strengthening the centralization and putting more and more power into the hands of the riches. Unlike that, miners can have small amounts of BTC, so here at least we have different levels of control by different groups.
As for the bull run, we might still see it coming back and it all being just a big correction, but I tend to think that the $40k price is actually the temporary thing, and the bear market is more permanent.
3915  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you investing in crypto currency alone? on: June 13, 2021, 12:12:21 PM
Not many countries have made available stimulus package for its citizens to help soften the economic effects of the pandemic.
With many nations of the world still recovering from the economic realities caused by the pandemic, how will you describe the economic situation in your country at the moment?

I am curious, Apart from your crypto Holdings, what other investments do you have? Or are you investing in crypto alone?
I'm from a developing country, so there were no relief packages from the state here. Luckily, I didn't lose my job and overall my financial situation has been okay throughout the pandemic, but that has not been the case for many other people. Overall, we didn't have a good economy before the pandemic in my country, and now it's even worse than it used to be. The prices for food are rising, and the utility bills are up 35% from last year.
As for investments, I'm only hodling Bitcoin and a bit of altcoins. I'm not interested in traditional investments, and I never was.
3916  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: June 13, 2021, 11:54:13 AM
Thanks for making this list, I think it's pretty useful. I guess nowadays faucets aren't as popular as they used to be, but casinos make up for it by special offers, welcome bonuses and demo modes.
May I ask which things you took into account when deciding these faucets are the best? Is it the amount of money given, the amount of wait time between the claims, or perhaps something else as well? Or does a casino get on the list if it's reputable, and it has a faucet, no matter what the specifics are?
3917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EURO 2020: Do you ready with your bet? on: June 13, 2021, 11:16:45 AM
I'm betting on Ukraine reaching the Quarter Finals and the Semi Finals. Our team isn't great at football, but this year, there's strong morale because with the story about the Ukrainian team outfits and slogans, the whole thing got political. I hope the team will show a decent performance because of feeling like there's a lot to prove to Europe. But I'm not crazy enough to bet on Ukraine winning the whole thing.
On a slightly unrelated note, did you know that the top scorer of Euro 2020 will have their records registered on a blockchain? It's an interesting use case for blockchain, and it'll happen for the first time.
3918  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Bets.io ✅ Bitcoin Casino ❓ 24/7 Customer Support 🎰 Instant Withdrawals on: June 13, 2021, 10:51:41 AM
Welcome to the forum. If you're saying that the payments are 'Lightning fast', keep in mind that it's a bit confusing and prompts a question: do you accepting the payments via the Lightning Network? Or is it just a metaphor?
Also, you're saying the casino's for thrill-seeking players, but your games seem pretty regular for a casino (slots, roulette).
What I do like is that you have a light-mode and a dark-mode version of the website, and the dark-mode seems more appealing to me. But I guess it would be better if your marketing sets clearer expectations.
Good luck!
3919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey is now speaking up on: June 13, 2021, 10:37:10 AM
Like others have mentioned, there's nothing new about Jack Dorsey being pro-crypto. Unlike Elon Musk, Jack has been pro-Bitcoin for years. He owns some, tested the Lightning Network, and has a company that allows crypto trading. But announcing the integration of BTC payments to a social network is good news anyway. Although if it's for Bluesky, it's unclear whether the network itself will be a success, so perhaps an unpopular network accepting crypto payments won't be a big deal. And it seems that it's not so much about Bitcoin as it is about the Lightning Network, so that narrows down the user base as well.
3920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please Relax About the FBI News.. on: June 13, 2021, 10:10:52 AM
I don't know what people are reading if they believe that the FBI hacked Bitcoin and cracked the private keys. When I google 'FBI bitcoin', all I can see from popular media outlets is info about seizing the wallet, and literally the first search result is named "FBI likely exploited sloppy password storage..." by CNBC. By the way, I think it's actually good that they managed to track the money and recover some of it, as it shows that Bitcoin is actually transparent. Here's a quote from The Wall Street Journal article:
Quote
Despite cryptocurrency’s reputation as a hard-to-trace medium of exchange useful to criminals and other groups that operate outside the traditional financial system, crypto experts say it is at times easier to track than hard currencies such as U.S. dollars.
