I guess I was really just unlucky this time. So many bets and was able to hit the number just 6 times. I am still happy to be a part of this Gosu event.
This Gosu event truly proves "Don't gamble with more than you can afford to lose - ever! " since it bounds us to play within our limits and that's actually a good thing.
And yeah, I would like to mention that before starting the Gosu event I was just at Level 3 but now I am at Level 8  Cool
Wagered around $5000 and I guess that should have been the case with everyone. LOL. It was fun guys. Thanks @efialtis and @Csmiami

3902  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 07, 2021, 09:37:07 AM
I've finally persuaded wetsuit to take a serious look at LN. It came from a discussion we had recently about our dust problem (229 BTC that's too expensive to consolidate).

First, we'll add Lightning Network deposits and after that's been running for a while we'll start charging a very small fee for sub 30,000 deposits via the blockchain to pay for the consolidation.

Wow, now that's some good progress Freebitco.in is making. Also, how about adding internal transfers as well.
That way users who trust each other can deposit their tokens in a single transaction and then doing free internal transfer to themselves.
I don't know how it would benefit freebitco.in but it would certainly benefit it's users and eventually increase the userbase as well.

Internal transfer between the freebitco accounts will really help and in some cases may save transactions fee. If you have brothers, sisters or wife having freebitco account, then due to free internal transfer, they can move their earnings in one account and withdraw it once saving multiple tx fees. Lets hope this feature is built soon.

We will not enable internal transfers because we can't prove we paid them. That's the great thing about the blockchain if there is a dispute between 2 users, one claiming the other one didn't pay them and the other blaming us I can show them the transaction ID.

Well implementing internal transfers is completely up to you. You are running freebitco.in since many years and hence you will be the better judge here.
But I would like to ask that even if users do internal transfers you guys will be able to track them internally through your database right ?
Internal transfers doesn't really have to go through the blockchain. It can simply be implemented just on the database level and tracking each transfer with a consequent transaction id.

3904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man arrested in Germany keeps $60 Million dollars in Bitcoin from the police on: February 06, 2021, 04:59:20 PM
His biggest problem when he gets out of jail will be how to explain to some bad guys that he forgot his password - and I'm sure many will be interested in talking to him a little bit. I believe they have very convincing methods to extract the truth, whatever the truth may be.

Well the fraudster could simply lie to the bad guys that he already said the password to the police and he no longer has access to the bitcoins.
He could simply move his bitcoins to a new address before lying to the bad guys about it.
Then run away to another country where nobody would know him and then enjoy the rest of his life with the $60 million.
Sounds like a movie  Grin

Quote
What is not very clear to me is this part of the article :

The fraudster had been sentenced to more than two years in jail for covertly installing software on other computers to harness their power to mine or produce bitcoin.

Well, most people know that mining BTC with ordinary computers does not make sense for at least 7 or more years in the past - so the question is how did he manage to mine even 1700 BTC in that way?

That's what I was thinking. Probably it's a made up article but why would anybody such a thing
3905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was left behind with btc market. on: February 06, 2021, 04:51:39 PM
I am posting this because I was surprised how bitcoin market price move. I can't hardly believe that after some time of inactivity in the forum and cryptocurrency there has been a huge changes happen. A drastic bullish trend of bitcoin and other altcoins tha are bullish too like ethereum. I was gonne thought that cryptocurrency could pop like a bubble and everything will go back to the bottom.

Another thing that I also check @coinmarketcap.com is a coin at the top of the listed crypto of coinmarketcap.com btc in the coinmarketcap.com. It has a rank 0 in it highest of all in the market. What could really be happening of thia crypto and why it was being posted in top. There is a  high chance that it can grow for more knowing it is listed at the top.

Hmmpp..I am interested to know what could happen to bitcoin. There are really great surprises ahead and that could be mean that btc could go in just a short period of time having 100K $ per btc. It would be possible and we all know of that.

I was really left behind after all this pandemic has cause so much in all of us in financial aspects. If I could have some spare money I gonna love to invest in a coin eyeing on the crypto listed on top of btc in coinmarketcap.com. What exchange could it be bought? I need to get an idea about this crypto. I am also planning to buy bitcoin. Good Luck to me!

The coin you are referring to is WallStreetBets (WSB) and this is nothing but a meme coin (not a real cryptocurrency). So don't even think of buying this because you won't be able to.

Yes you are late to notice bitcoin rally up so quick and high. But it's never too late to invest in bitcoin.
If you truly believe in bitcoin then you can buy it at whatever the current price is because it has the potential to break the $100k barrier.
I believe bitcoin will even cross $500k within one decade. If you think the same then the current price is still a good price to enter again.  Smiley
3906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transactions can be reversed if . . .! on: February 06, 2021, 04:35:20 PM

That explanation is amazing. More facts are cleared with this however few more gained in the process.

Like, you said they would do this in secrete chain and then publish the proof of work later on to claim the 100 BTC example.

So its more or less illegal way to do so ?

I mean if they claim by your procedure then they would end up stealing the bitcoins from broadcaster. On the other hand receiving party would never receive the bitcoins!!

But what happens to recipient end since bitcoin address was entered but they never reached the address.

Is it a flaw in the blockchain code ?
Is it really a reversal or stealing ?

It's not a flaw in the blockchain code. It is how it is designed to be. Bitcoin is decentralized and 51% means more than half of the miners consider it to be true.
Now if the attacker has the 51% hashing power as an individual, that's something which shouldn't have happened at first place.
For bitcoin to be truly decentralized, one entity should never have more than 51% hashing power at all.

On the other hand receiving party would never receive the bitcoins!!
The other party would initially receive the bitcoin. As the honest chain built up more and more blocks, they would see the transaction which sends them bitcoin receive 1, then 2, then 3, and so on confirmations. If a 51% attacker then published a longer chain which did not include that transaction, then that transaction (and the bitcoin in the recipient's wallet) would simply disappear.[/quote]

Would the transactions simply disappear from our wallets or be marked as invalid transactions ?
I think the transactions should be marked as invalid ones, not sure though.
3907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a math model worth that predicts BTC's next ATH with incredible accuracy on: February 06, 2021, 04:15:04 PM
Like all such models, it is worth absolutely nothing minus the value of the time it takes someone to realise that fact. Anyone interested in your model should ask you to pay them to examine your model, or else they're getting ripped off. Undecided

Haha  Grin That was hillarious.

I partly agree, but didn't the Winklevoss twins do something similar with Zuckerberg and their idea for Facebook, we all know what happened. People routinely exploit inventors because of their oftentimes need for affirmation, as they normally don't fit in with the general population. This naivet is often exploited. Ok thanks for your input.

Tell me one thing, what's the use of such model even if it exists (although it doesn't). Assuming that the model would predict the ATH 99% accurately (well that's funny too  Grin )
wouldn't it make the traders aware and then they will just start selling their coins right before the ATH. Hence a big sell would occur right before the predicted ATH.
Hence the ATH the model predicted would fail to be accurate. Hence it's just a waste of time.

It's like time travelling to the past and changing something which eventually changes all the course of events from that point till date.

Hello Csmiami, as they mention 6730 and the decimals do not matter, I am interpreting that it works, but you are the manager if you say that it does not work, no problem.

I repeat it is a matter of interpretation if it does not work it is fine.  Smiley

Hi pawanjain, nice to meet you.

I think we have a manager in this fun roll hunt and he is in charge of showing, saying, correcting, etc.

It is good to cross messages with you, good things that these types of contests leave in other type profit...

Hi buddy,

Yes we do have a manager but we are the gosu community where we tend to help each other in whatever way possible. Good to see you around.

Also for decimal part :

Some more clarification:

- 0673 / 6730 / 06.73 / 67.30 are GOSU number hits (decimals don't matter)
This means we can hit either of the above four numbers. In your case the number you hit was 0.0673 which is invalid I believe.

No. 25% is the increase of the interest on the BTC balance. Normally you get a daily interest corresponding to an annual interest rate which is 4.08%. If you keep 500000 FUN after one year the annual interest rate will be 5.10% (because 4.08x1.25=5.10).

This isn't one of the big selling points unless you intend to keep a good amount of BTC for several years on the site. With compounded growth it could grow to be a nice amount if you're willing to wait.

Today, I got my third 5000 sat prize in less than two months from the wheel of fortune. I'm still hesitant about trading my BTC for some lower top 100 altcoin, but if you do the math you are practically guaranteed to earn it all back within a relatively short time period.

Third 5000 prize is really good achievement for you because in recent I never have any big prize from this site mostly going with 50 RP Lottery Tickets and Satoshies but you done good job nearly 5$ prizes not bad at all your luck is high so you can do some more good for you right now. Grin Smiley Wink

Yes you are right. It's great to get such odds recently. The last time I got 5000 Satoshis was more than 4 weeks ago.
Wait a minute, I just made a meme for this right now. LOL  Grin Grin This is exactly what's happening right now.

3911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin FreeFloat Supply on: February 05, 2021, 05:10:43 PM
With their methodology calculations it is showing much lower supply with around 14 million Bitcoins, and they believe almost 4 million is gone, and It's not like I am surprised with this but I would like to see how exactly did they calculate this but they don't provide any explanation about this, but they probably excluded all coins that was not moved in several years.

But that's definitely not the right way to calculate the total supply. Assuming many old timers would have just stored their wallet just like that.
Many would have stored it as collectibles. Many would have stored it in a secure place where they can access it only in emergency cases.
These coins would not have been moved yet should be counted in the circulating supply.
Them, not mentioning the method to calculate their freefloat tells us why we should not be believing them for the number of circulating supply.
There's no correct method proven to find the actual number of bitcoin circulating supply.
3912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: February 05, 2021, 04:25:45 PM
Signature campaigns right now are paying on a dollar-based unlike before which was paid on a BTC-based whatever the price of bitcoin was. Even the mighty Chipmixer campaign failed to continue paying their participants on a BTC-based payment and had to go through a $ based payment which is still the highest payment campaign up until now.
For us, who got paid 50-80$ worth of bitcoin, it's better for us to hold unto it until the price has increase but it's sometimes fun to gamble our earnings with what we advertising on our signature space. However, I haven't gamble my earnings for a long time now as for me it's sometimes a hassle depositing and withdrawing funds especially that most gambling sites has a minimum amount required to withdraw on. Also, the fees is a factor as gambling 50-80$ and a fee of 1-10$ is too much for just that amount.

It's definitely better to hold bitcoins at such times. I am still holding my earnings from a few months ago and can almost see it double in price  Grin
Chipmixer was paying too much according to the price of bitcoin until recently it slashed it prices. It was quite expected though.
They decreased the price to more than 70% of what was getting paid which was a turn off for many.

Gambling these days feels like goosebumps when we see the bet amount in fiat equivalent price. I never see the fiat equivalent until I have stopped gambling for that particular day  Grin

Fun token is now worth about 4 cents, and the project's Funfair  market capitalization is almost $300m.  These are very good results.
I should also note that the company recently launched a new campaign here at BTT, which is planned to last 4 weeks and the number of participants, BTT users is 100. I don't remember such large-scale signature campaigns in BTT.  This has not happened for a long time.
All this suggests that devs are active and not in vain occupy the honorable third place in the world ranking.  Let's wish them to rise to second place Smiley

Well I got to know about the FUN tokens and how it gained more than 100% of it's price in just a few days. I thought of joining the hype and bought some tokens at the price of 146 sats from an exchange.
Later, the price fell down and went below 120 sats. I sold the tokens for BTC and since bitcoin increased in price recently the loss was recovered when paired with USD.
It was just an experiment. Although I have lesser sats now, I am not sad with the losses. I played the multiply BTC at freebitco.in and gained some sats back.
3915  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Almost lost all of my coins in an exchange last week on: February 04, 2021, 04:42:53 PM
Damn, that's quite an experience. Personally I haven't faced such a situation in crypto. I have faced it on Social media though (getting a social media account hacked and then successfully retrieving it back).

There are a few things to talk about here. Reading the comments I got to know that the exchange you are talking about is Binance.
It's a well reputed exchange with a lot of fake phishing websites. May be you clicked some phishing website which you don't even remember.
It happens with the best of us. May be it was an insider job(though the probability is low, it can still happen)
May be someone had access to your devices which were earlier used to login to binance.
May be someone who knows you had planned to hack you

The reason might be anything. Unless you are an active trader it is always advised to store your coins in a custodial wallet rather than an exchange.
3916  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1BTC Reaching 1million Still Unrealistic on: February 04, 2021, 04:14:24 PM
I stumbled on a post on this platform about 1 sat being $1, but am gonna do a simple calculation if 1sat was equal $0.01...

I just want to do some mathes, if you don't like mathematics, stop reading already...  Grin

Currently the total wealth in the world is sitting at $360trillion, cool....
It won't make sense if the total number of BTC that will ever be takes more than 8% of that number, let's do the math already
If 1BTC is worth $1,000,000

Therefore 21,000,000BTC will equal
 21,000,000 1,000,000 = $21,000,000,000,000

Thats what $21trillion, almost 8% of all the wealth in the world??

Wealth measures the value of all the assets of worth owned by a person, community, company, or country. Wealth is determined by taking the total market value of all physical and intangible assets owned, then subtracting all debts.

So if BTC takes all 8% to itself, what about real estate and all the other sectors??
P.S I didn't do economics anyways, and by the way how do I add pictures on my post??

That's quite possible if you look at it's historic data and no, it is not even so unrealistic as you are calling it to be.
Bitcoin has been rising at a good pace and it is the trust that people have on bitcoin which is giving it it's value.
Unlike USD bitcoin is not so inflationary. The feds are printing millions of dollars every year out of thin air causing inflationary spikes destroying the economy.
I believe anything can happen because people have already started realizing this fact and how revolutionary bitcoin is.
Bitcoin reaching $1,000,000 will definitely happen in a few decades or may be soon.

The register/login page design is really bad. Why does the page design has the theme of a chart and that too such a low resolution background ? What are candlesticks doing on a gambling site ?
The site looks absolute clone to bustabit just with the exception that this one looks really bad. There's arrow buttons to increase/decrease betting odds but no arrows for increasing/decreasing bet amount.
Also there should be buttons such as 2X and /2 for doubling and dividing the amount. One thing that is also missing is the Provably Fair. Almost all gambling sites have this system these days.
All in all, this site has so many thing to improvise.
3919  Local / India / Re: Updates on crypto ban bill on: February 03, 2021, 07:56:25 AM
Cryptocurrencies won't be banned so easily guys. A large number of population in India is holding crytocurrencies worth crores of amount in INR.
So the government wouldn't just announce a blanket ban on cryptocurrencies and even if they would (which is highly unlikely) they would definitely give time for traders to sell their cryptocurrencies.
But still, most of the Indian people who hold cryptocurrencies are in favor to enable regulation instead of a ban.

On a question about "Does the Govt know many businesses use it?", the MoS for Finance is like, "Well, No bitch!!" Roll Eyes In my opinion, the bigger exchanges and businesses should be ready to hire the good lawyers and pay them well to take this through the courts on its technical merits like the last time. Pinning hopes on this Govt (Sorry Modi Lovers) is like having a hard-on for the black widow spider. I am all for not panicking and hoping for the best but till someone from inside the ruling party mumbles support, the crypto community should be prepared for the worst.

WazirX CEO Nischal Chetty mentioned in an interview on Youtube that the bill will probably not be presented to the Parliament at all.
Even if the bill is presented the standing committee will ask the Indian entrepreneurs to point their views on the bill and then get their inputs before finalizing a decision.
He also said, if something like this happens then they are ready with their advocates to talk towards regulation of cryptocurrencies.
