3901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going up again. on: May 11, 2019, 11:46:33 PM
Bitcoin's growth continues and its pace so far exceeds all expectations. On the one hand, it’s very cool, but doubts do not leave me that someone very big rigidly manipulates the market. This year we will jump up and down more than once.

It will happen. Such big rises in short time don't come without people taking profits. I did that and smart people were slowly selling into the bullish trend. The worst thing that you can do as an investor is buy now after the price has moved by 2000 dollars in a matter of days.

I know that we are in a reversed trend and people are going crazy but it's better to take it slow instead of buying into the FOMO and regretting it later.
3902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dont be dumb gamblers on: May 11, 2019, 11:21:06 PM
I don't get why people would choose to play on some new shady sites instead of choosing one of many well known casinos with trusted reviews and active staff? Those who do are probably new not only to gambling but also to cryptocurrencies and fall victim to scams like cloud mining clients and people who buy trading tips from youtubers Wink

It's not about not being a stupid gambler. The key is to not be stupid in life. If you are stupid online you will sooner or later lose money buying into a scam and it doesn't have to be a casino.
3903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which factors influence your decision of choosing an online crypto casino? on: May 11, 2019, 09:51:40 PM
In order of importance
1. Reputation
2. History of big wins and bonuses
3. Freebies of any kind like signature campaigns faucets giveaways that allow me to play without making a deposit
4. Community and responsiveness of the owners
5. Fast and cheap withdrawals
6. Referral programs
3904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: May 11, 2019, 09:47:09 PM
I keep my coins offline. I use exchanges only when I want to trade and I never send all my money to a single one and I never use a single transaction to do it. I use safe passwords and more than 1 copy of my wallet in a safe place. I don't tell people around me that I trade cryptocurrencies. The less people know about it the better.
3905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ponzi / Pyramid Scheme / Bubble on: May 11, 2019, 09:27:03 PM
It has been a year since I made this post, but I thought that it deserved a bump given the recent activity in the Bitcoin space.

It's a nice thread that will help people understand the definitions.

I'm not sure there is a big differences with ponzi and piramid scheme.
Both of them earn their rewards thanks to the newcomers.

Enlight me if I'm wrong but I think it's the same thing.

Ponzi scheme is an American thing. In Europe we don't use this name and instead use pyramid scheme and mlm to describe this. Ponzi scheme was repeated by another proud American Madoff who did the same thing. There were no levels in his system just him on top stealing from everyone and lying to everyone.
3906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The "Church"(call it whatever you want) of Bitcoin on: May 11, 2019, 09:18:02 PM
I like the idea and hope somebody will find the courage to at least try to register the church of bitcoin. We had a flying spaghetti monster church so why not the church of satoshi or something like that.

Aren't you worried that if they prove that satoshi was really the CIA or NSA or worse a group of Indian hackers it will all be a shock to your believers?
3907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index on: May 11, 2019, 09:08:55 PM
The only thing I find interesting is how close we are to what the index was showing in early 2018 when the price was returning to above 10 thousand dollars after the first wave of sales. It was the time where Tom Lee was telling us that it's only a small correction and we'll be back above 20 thousand in no time Cheesy

Besides that the index has no point because it shows low points every time bitcoin drops by a lot and high points every time it goes up for a while so it's showing the obvious.
3908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Article: BTC bubbles repeat, but much higher ? on: May 10, 2019, 10:00:25 PM
We are now returning to the mean which is at 6200 dollars. If we do it it will be the beginning of the real bull market. People are waiting for it and if you see it you can go all in. I'm sure that if we go to 6500 or somewhere near that we'll start a crazy exponential rise that won't stop until it goes past 20 thousand dollars. We'll have to wait until the halving for that but it will happen.

It is hardly worth agreeing with you. Most likely, Bitcoin will continue to grow at a not very fast pace, and even if it overcomes the mark of $ 6500 in the near future, we will most likely not see a very sharp rise in the cryptocurrency market in the future. This year, we are unlikely to see Bitcoin growth to $ 20,000 under any circumstances. For such growth will take much more time.
Are you ready to repeat it? We went past 6500 on bitfinex. 2 days ago many people including me thought that it will be hard without a correction and here we are.
Look how much can happen in 2 days. With bitcoin almost anything is possible and I wouldn't cross out the possibility of it going to 10 thousand this year.
We are back in a bull trend for the first time since 2017 it's confirmed now.
3909  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Hackers Are Shuffling Binance’s Stolen Bitcoin on: May 10, 2019, 09:53:29 PM

I think some exchanges have notified CZ already that they will block those addresses, but I don't know if he has discussed this to some known mixers to block it as well. But it's going to be difficult to get their cooperation though. Anyways, there are a lot of blockchain forensics right now and I'm sure their hands are full trying to track everything down to the smallest amounts and where it goes.

They could do it. There were cases of exchanges blocking stolen cryptos before.
If hackers are smart they will buy monero or zcash to better hide the coins instead of trying to mix them. While CZ is doing his talking hackers could be talking with some shady exchanges like yobit to help them launder if for a hefty fee.
3910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum goes to the top! on: May 10, 2019, 09:49:12 PM
I bought mine at 120 dollars this year so I'm holding some cheapest ETH you could get. I missed the opportunity to buy at 90 but you can't have everything I'm still happy with what I got.

If Bitcoin keeps going up ETH should follow but with some smart contract competition this year it's going to be much harder for ETH to go close to 1000 dollars even if BTC reaches its ATH from 2017.
3911  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-10] Ban Bitcoin! Urges Congressman After Realizing It Can Disempower US on: May 10, 2019, 08:52:59 PM
This congressman shows the attitude of US government. If we can't buy it, threaten it, take it by force, we'll try to destroy it.

He won't get the majority to support it. This idea is too controversial. What about the politicians who take donations in Bitcoin? The Trump administration is not against cryptocurrencies. Banning it would be against the ideas of capitalism that Trump and his followers worship.
3912  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance #safu fund on: May 10, 2019, 08:35:56 PM
Yeah, your funds are SAFU!!!
Sleep easy, CZ says all the money are SAFU!

You realize this comes from a guy that was denying the FSA has ordered them to cease operation in Japan and at the same time, he was packing his stuff to Malta while claiming on twitter everything was SAFU?

Yeah, keep believing an exchange that runs from a country in which it can't obey the rules to protect is customers funds to an offshore paradise is the safest place to keep your money and is exempt from going bankrupt by a theft  Grin

More importantly it comes from a guy that was telling people that they have unscheduled maintenance going on and funds are safu while his staff was running around in panic looking for missing millions of dollars in BTC. I wouldn't trust anything he says!

They should hire someone to run PR because the CEO has no idea how to do it but he's too proud to admit it.
3913  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $6K, BUY OR SELL on: May 10, 2019, 08:16:17 PM
with BTC crossing $6k dollar this month, which most persons didn't see coming this soon. will you advice an investor to buy more or sell at the current price?

Personally, I don't advice anyone. My personal opinion is to buy alts because since now we see only the bitcoin price being increased and not any of the alts follow this raise.
Buying alts will probably give more profits in the future that buying bitcoins.

They will as long as Bitcoin continues up. Altcoins are lagging behind as always but if there's a big correction on bitcoin the altcoin boom will not happen. I agree that altcoins will show bigger gains than Bitcoin in the coming weeks if Bitcoin delivers but they won't move if it goes back to 5000 which is still possible.

I sold my tradable stash of Bitcoins before 6000 and kept only altcoins so I'll be waiting for a correction.
3914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins do you think will outperform btc in the upcoming crypto summer? on: May 10, 2019, 07:58:10 PM
With the way it's beginning to look I don't think any altcoins will outperform BTC this Summer. If we enter another exponential we won't stop below 20 thousand dollars again just like the last time when we approached 1000 and went through like it was nothing.

I thought we wouldn't break 6000 especially with everybody saying that strong support acts as strong resistance if it gets broken and here we go.
3915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After Binance have been compromised. on: May 09, 2019, 10:45:33 PM
The hack at Binance is a big blow to the crypto industry since most people like myself believed that Binance exchange was secured and could not be hacked. Yeah and i also think it's high time we really look in the development of Decentralized Exchanges.

It's not a big blow and the price is showing it by going up instead of down. It's a big blow to Binance but crypto remains unaffected. There's a chance the money is lost and there was no hack but an attempt to move the coins to a segwit address. If this is true Bitcoin became even more scarce and more valuable.

Decentralized exchanges aren't popular yet but they will be. The risk is too high and even the biggest exchanges can be hacked there's no safe way to exchange if this includes giving away your keys.
3916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to sell off your crypto investment on: May 09, 2019, 09:58:13 PM
You don't know now and you will never know. The perfect time usually lasts for hours sometimes for days in a bull market lasting for months.

If I told you that I will run 10 km straight starting now and you have to pick the exact moment of me passing 8th km without knowing my speed and endurance would you be able to do it? Finding a perfect moment to sell is just as difficult.
3917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now that bitcoin has crossed $6100, what are your thoughts? on: May 09, 2019, 09:38:40 PM
I can't believe we went this far. I bought some bitcoin below 4000 dollars and sold when we hit 5600. The charts were showing we should go down from there and we did but then we went up again and I still had some of my cheap coins from before so I sold another batch at 5800 and my last one today at 6050.
I'm betting on bitcoin not going back above 6300 without a correction and I will buy back again there. We are overbought for weeks now and I'm out of bitcoins Sad
3918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance was hacked=> Everyone should be wary of your wallet and trade on Binance on: May 09, 2019, 09:20:17 PM
I really trust binance will stand to this trial that have befallen them.
I believe there won't be any glitch trading on this exchange despite the hack.

There already was a big enough glitch. CZ admitted that they were unaware of the exploit and were caught by surprise. What makes you think there will never be any surprises? What makes you think their margin of error is endless? If they lose enough money they will file for bankruptcy and you won't be able to withdraw your money.

Some people really need to lose money to learn something but it's too late by then.
3919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spain – busted - Crypto ATMs used to launder narco money on a large scale on: May 09, 2019, 09:04:50 PM
That’s introduces another debate: Is Russia considered Europe ? (total/partial)

Google tells me they are in Europe, the books say the same.....my heart tells me they are no far away enough Tongue, but that's another story.

I always thought they are in both. Most of Russia is in Asia but their Capital is in Europe so there's no straight answer to that. The best one would be they are located on the Eurasian continent and and lie partially in Asia and Europe. It's officially called a transcontinental country.

I see nothing bad for Bitcoin in this news. They were using a number of things to launder money like credit cards, fake IDs and sim cards. They also had bank accounts. Let's not blame Bitcoin for what people are doing with it.
3920  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance hacked AND proven to be wash trading on: May 09, 2019, 08:51:53 PM
And here's my I told you so. Yesterday I posted about happy Craig and today we had the biggest SV pump since April. It won't last long. Craig will soon call out someone or brag in a tweet to make people dump again.

Anyway in light of the recent theories I'm more of a believer in the "binance lost money and are afraid to admit it"
