3901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: December 08, 2020, 03:12:13 PM

it will be a game where Messi and Ronaldo will try to play to please the audience watching at home because the two teams have already moved to another stage.
No great expectation it would be another overhyped boring 0:0 match as the greatest of all time (Messi) meets the best of all time(Cr7). Both teams have already qualified to the next round just a battle of who goes top of the table
I don't have a clue yet I am feeling excited. It's an absolute pleasure watching these two greats play against each other. They both are living legends, we should enjoy then when they're here. Indeed we're very lucky that we got chance to watch two legends meet again after a long break.

Me, too, but I remember first match disappointed me, and today it is many premises that this match won't be as good as we're expecting, too.  So I'd rather watch other match.
To be on safer side I will rather bet on both team to score than to pick one of them wining today's match, Barca lost to Cadiz last weekend while Juventus won their last match but I can't use those matches as a yardstick to pick a winner in today's match, the match can be dicey however Its going to be an entertaining and an explosive match having two outstanding players in person of Messi and Ronaldo playing against each other.
3902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Different opinions about bitcoin on: December 08, 2020, 06:32:50 AM
Bitcoin has similarities to gambling but not alike I think. For example, investing in Bitcoin is like gambling. Because Bitcoin is a volatile cryptocurrency and you can't predict exactly when its price is going to go to the moon. You just try to choose the right time to buy BTC and wait for making profit.
Bitcoin is not gambling though due to the nature of its price movement and volatility an investor can make huge profits within a shortest period of time also an investor can also loss a lot in that given period however when equipped with vast knowledge and charting techniques based on price action a trader or an investor can have an edge over the market as in making profits consistently although some losses will also be incurred above all profit taken will outweigh total losses while capitalizing on the market sentiments i.e when the market is bullish buying low and selling high.
3903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Map of Bitcoin Legality on: December 07, 2020, 04:45:42 PM
A proverb says "Slow and steady win a race" based on the map above even though it might not be an updated one nevertheless the map have made a disclosure the growing numbers of adoption of bitcoin various countries slowly and steadily , I read from this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5297498.0   how Taihuttu family traveled to 40 countries spending only Bitcoin, this really shows the growing acceptability and adoption of bitcoin globally, I believed in few years to come bitcoin will grow in leap and bound going by  it soaring popularity.
3904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mind Blown Gambling Facts on: December 07, 2020, 10:05:48 AM
A gambler named Archie Karas went to Las Vegas with $50, gambled it up to $40 million over the next two years, only to lose it all in three weeks. Source

How about this one? Who thought that winning is gambling is not possible, damn, small capital to $40 million, must be a gifted gambler, I wonder if there are many of them in the planet.

Though it's possible, but we should not think that this would happen to us, winning in gambling is not just for everyone.
In fact, winning is only for few people while casinos always makes money at the end of the day.

Losing your sacrifices and efforts to earn a $40 million in two years and lose it in just  three weeks was so terrified. In gambling it will surely have a 50/50 chances of probability of winning and losing but it doesn't mean that we win once we will become a winner in our every game. And i guess earning that huge amount of profit in two in gambling doesn't define you already as a good gambler. There are some missing piece of our past experience that we should to look back to be able to become good.

This is also a sign of impulsive or addicted gambling else why when you have made millions and would bet so much that you end up losing like 40 million unless made 1000+millions and lose out 40 million then that is fine, else it is simple thing like I would just play say 5% of the total win amount and rest could be used for my remaining life and other stuff.

This is quite a touching story the state of addiction of such a gambler is highly unimaginable and unspeakable, how lucky he is winning such a whooping huge amount of money while losing it again while gambling blindly without caution, the aftermath of losing such a huge amount of money is going to affect him emotionally and psychologically till the end of his life.
The best bet was that he should have walked away after winning and call it a quit in gambling while investing massively in any profitable business instead gambling lavishly again in a bid to win huge sum of money, this is indeed a big lesson to any new lucky winner to quit once hit jackpot.
3905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **family survives 40 countries living only on Bitcoins** on: December 07, 2020, 08:13:27 AM
Kudos to Taihuttu family for taking such a bold step in propagating the message of Bitcoin across 40 countries, at the same time spending, transacting with Bitcoin, of course their contribution to spreading of good news about bitcoin and bringing it into more limelight with their voyage is quite remarkable such adventure was taken by a single family who summoned courage and risk to embarked on such a journey is very appreciated, this will increase more adoptions across those countries visited by them.
3906  Economy / Speculation / Re: Heavy BTC resistance at $20k on: December 07, 2020, 06:00:27 AM

It's possible in long run but currently this week it's not the resistance is very strong compare to support . I expect a price dump in the first day of this week it may recover back again with good condition to break those wall before 20k price  but right now expect a dump that will happen in he next more hours or days. I am just waiting and setting my orders so I can grab some grab cheaper BTC price.
Btc is struggling to break it's ATH record, whenever it's about to reach it and break the resistance it somehow fall in price, so it will be better to really take those time to accumulate again btc cause who knows in multiple attempts to break the resistance and break the record thru more adoption in the future it will create again it higher ATH. We just need to wait and monitor it throughly.
Its very obvious that the resistance at $20K is a very strong one, the price attempted thrice to break that zone but unsuccessful,  be as it may the bulls are very much in the market once that resistance is broken we are definitely in for another ATH whose value might not be accurately predicted, meanwhile I hope the present bullish sentiment of Bitcoin is sustained so as to enjoy a profitable 2021 market and more adoptions by many organizations.
3907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dead? on: December 07, 2020, 04:24:36 AM
ICOs are still alive, but the numbers have decreased considerably this year. Because they can't compete with IEO and DeFi,
Besides, based on my observations, the current ICO is no longer profitable. Even 95% scams, but there are still bounty hunters
who are interested in promoting ICOs. But with the bullrun later this year, there is a possibility that in 2021 the ICO trend will
repeat itself. Because many investors want ICOs to rise again like in 2017.
And also a lot of negative stigma on ICOs because of the many scam projects. In terms of security, ICOs are also far behind IEOs, and investors certainly don't want to risk their money to fundraising structures whose security is weak or even uncertain.
The new hype is DeFis which currently in Vogue while ICOs and IEOs will soon be phase out as they are no longer popular and profitable again probably due scammers having a field day in their projects or due to the bearish market conditions however as  cryptos market turned bullish I was  also expecting a resurgence of ICOs in the market just like that of 2017,  however nothing has really changed with ICOs, I believed a shift to DeFis by investors was responsible for it
3908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using a lower bitcoin denomination(bits/sats/millibits): Which side are you on? on: December 07, 2020, 03:35:59 AM
My preferred lower choice of  bitcoin denomination is bits, as a forex trader my broker adopted that denomination as a alternative source of trading thus allowing me to calculate my lot sizes and risk to be taken before taking any trade, while I used https://bitsusd.com/  to quickly glance through bits values in USD, e.g I used 525 bits equivalent to 10USD per trade, bits values has been very helpful in calculating my risk to reward ratio while trading based on amount of pips used as stop loss as well as numbers of pips to be taken as profits.

~

Selfish reasons, Arsenal beat Spurs and Sheffield beat Leicester please.   Smiley   thanks.

Good luck all.

Spurs are very easy to win vs arsenal, my reason spurs have son heung min he is like an asian dragon ready to fly in field her movements were shining, arsenal must keep son heung tighter and also Kane he is always swift to break through defens.
Arsenal shouldn't be written off in today's match, despite the fact that the team had been struggling in the league, the players knew what is at stake now that Arteta is under pressure and might face a sack, the team might spring a surprise today of course soccer pundits had not given them any chances against Tottenham, if Kane and Son attacking prowess can be curtail by the arsenal defenders the outcome of the match might favor arsenal.
3910  Economy / Speculation / Re: Seems like the bullrun is over this year! on: December 06, 2020, 08:05:56 AM
You are too hasty in expecting to a making profits after investing in cryptos in few days having forgot that investment in Bitcoin is a long term project while the overall market conditions now is very bullish you ought to have waited for a minor pullback before buying not just buying at peak, beside its not advisable to use your daughter's fund for investment bearing in mind that you will have to wait for months or years to make decent profit of your investment.
3911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Follow a trading process. on: December 06, 2020, 05:35:12 AM
Your advice in the OP only applies to newbies, because senior traders must have followed the trading process. Actually,
following the trading process requires patience, because the success of everyone in trading takes quite a long time.
For that newbie, when trading don't expect instant results, because no success in trading is generated in a short time.
Everything needs a process, so just follow the process. Then success will be obtained.

For process be it newbie or expert they still have to get it right. Even the expert trader will and should follow it unless those who have good money and ready for the downside risk too. Stop loss is a must else it would not take much time where you capital gets wiped out easily. Not getting too greedy at times else it can have reverse effect and profit can easily turn into losses.

True word by the OP, I actually lost a lot of trade when I started my trading journey, I didn't follow the process, I was actually after profits I kept on switching from one strategy to another without due process which culminated to streak of losses, until I stick to a particular strategy tweak and perfect it to suit my trading style, that was when I started making profits although I recorded some little losses however I am satisfied with the profits.
3912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: December 06, 2020, 03:09:57 AM
Am a Manchester United fan, but am predicting 2020/2021 premier league title might actually goes to Liverpool again, it will definitely been a tight season for both Liverpool and man City but am seeing it going bck to Liverpool again.
Not sure because the current standings look very attractive Chelsea 22, Tottenham 21, Liverpool 21, Manchester United 19, Manchester City 18. Man City came up late too late but the points are even very close to getting back to the top of the standings, so I think Man City will still be strong candidates for the title this season. Anyway, this season is going to look really interesting because we have the 5 big EPL teams back on top of the table and I'm really looking forward to a moment like this happening.
I agree with you and i think that its very hard to determinate who will be the leader of the premier leageu this year...many clubes are in a good situation and this year will be a promesing year for every premier leageu fan
The EPL will be too close to call, its absolutely not possible to predict the winner now going by the present  form of contenders,  with matches with many more matches to be played, what is going to separate the winning team from other teams is consistentcy in winning many EPL, kudos to Man Utd for picking form lately and winning last couples of matches I hope they continue with their winning runs so as to mount pressure on other top teams, there is no room for complacency now for any of the title contenders.
3913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: IF ONLY BOUNTIES WILL KEEP THEIR PROMISES. on: December 05, 2020, 05:23:26 PM
IF only hunters would have known better that all promises made BEFORE Bounties kick off are fake, Lies and depict.
IF only hunters know that they are working just to promote projects that investors will dump on them and then comes back to blame the hunters that they are responsible.
IF only hunters would have known that the even the Bounty manger could be deceived.
IF only hunters would has known that they are wasting Huge time working on a project that willl later change the entire business structure including social media channels just to dismiss anything that have to do with them.
IF only hunters would has known all are empty promises between them, BM and project developers.
IF ONLY hunters would has known that 90% of the bounties they participated will Not consider them talk more of payment.
IF only hunters would have known that some of the bounties they are campaigning for Now was a dead project that declined payments hoping that they have made huge achievements but get dumped by investors only for them to run back to the same markets that made them famous.

IF ONLY they know some of these FACTS about the projects they campaigned and many more to come....
If bounty hunters become united, professional and start boycotting bad managers and fake projects, i still believe that bounty hunting can still become a proper multi billion dollar industry that can employ thousands and thousands of people all around the world and i am quite sure this industry will grow big in coming years.
Who will unite bounty hunters? who will regulate bounty campaigns? this is a forum where the mod will try to prevent scams however when it comes to bounty campaigns its the prerogative of hunters to decide whether to promote a project or not however I can't blame them because in 2018 there are many successful ICOs that enabled hunters to earn decent rewards even newbies that participated in social media campaigns received reasonable reward however in the aftermath of the bearish market a lot of projects turned scam after promising fictitious and bogus rewards to participants .
Many hunters now participate in campaigns bearing in mind that the outcome may be successful or not that is why they are engaged in many projects.
3914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: December 05, 2020, 12:24:24 PM
Chelsea vs Leeds.
A battle of two good offensive teams and a huge advantage to Chelsea attack considering how dangerous they are and how easily it would be for them to penetrate any offensive team.we all saw what happened to Sevilla on Tuesday how expossed they were because they needed a win to secure top spot

chelsea being the top score team with 22 goals and Mendy with the highest clean sheets (5) I see another goal feast for the blues.

My prediction.
Chelsea 3:0 Leeds
I am truly impressed by Mendy's excellent record of clean sheets on goal despite joining the party a little late. Before his arrival, Chelsea looked pretty average and it's amazing how just a goalkeeper can turn things around for a club. That being said, I think Chelsea will comfortably win the match. Leeds United's defense is so leaky and Bamford has not been scoring lately.
I believed the arrival of Mendy had addressed the goalkeeping problems of Chelsea occasion by  Kepa consistent conceding of goals bearing any unforeseen circumstances like injury to key players Chelsea  will be EPL title contender this season, their present attackers are in a sprinkling form lately Giroud  reestablishment of his form is a big plus to the blues,  their match against Leeds United should be a convincing win for them.
3915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mobile wallet is more important on: December 05, 2020, 10:35:02 AM
Yes mobile wallet just make things more easier, I've turned away from many new projects because they don't build mobile wallet, not everyone owns a computer but everyone owns a smartphone, I'm wondering what our developers are thinking this days, infact mobile wallets should always comes first
The ease in use of mobile wallet makes transactions easy and swift however developers who had not build their mobile wallets are probably taking their time to fix it vulnerability we all aware of surging cases of hackers gaining access to the vulnerable wallets, exchanges e.t.c and stealing coins, there maybe some bugs that might not easily detected in course of using the wallet where hackers can capitalize and gain easy access to the wallet, I believed its every plan to introduce mobile wallet after the PC version however it must be well perfected and free from any bug before releasing it online.
3916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin? on: December 05, 2020, 09:06:41 AM
No I don't, but yeah this is correct.

Bitcoin: The title.
bitcoin: The unit.
BTC: ISO code.
₿: The symbol.

That's the least grammatically issues we have on this forum, though...  Tongue
Thanks for clearing it for us who got confused about it.
For me it didn't matter because when we right Bitcoin with capital or just lower case we automatically understand it here in the forum,
So I didn't pay too much attention to it.
I also never bothered about the clear differences between those terms because I never knew there is a clear difference in using them although the message I am conveying with those term without paying attention to them will clearly be understood by my readers however its a good thing the OP made clarity of those terms and I will be cautious of how I am going to use them in my articles, post e.t.c.
I also know a lot of people don't really pay attention it but its a good thing and its high time we began to made clear use of them appropriately in the forum and in other write-ups.
3917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be Fair I think bitcoin will go highest highs and then will collapse on: December 03, 2020, 04:43:49 AM
To be Fair and honest

Btc will go highest high and then will collapse!
Becouse bitcoin dont have much of utility its expensive to exchange in to fiat currency.
Slow confirmations.

But there is solution: xrp is solution Low fees and Fast transactions.

I give maximum life time for btc 2 years then it will collapse, reason is simple expensive fees and slow confirmations.

It will be fair if you can tell us the highest high you are talking about and the level of the crash you forsee. It is not good to thrash a thing because you feel the need to make a post. If we view it closely by the way, 2 years is enough for anyone to expect a correction. And if it eventually happens it is nothing bad because nothing goes up forever.
In the aftermath of the last collapse of bitcoin after attaining ATH in 2017 shoud have been used to justify your theory or speculation however despite the odd bitcoin rally up again even in this period of pandemic remained unscathed thus I don't believe in any speculative analysis of 2 years life span of bitcoin, meanwhile scalability issues of bitcoin will be well addressed and solved thus facilitating faster processing of transactions and improved Lightning Network will also take care huge fees paid on transactions thus all those theories put forward by you wouldn't hold water.
3918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: December 03, 2020, 02:16:41 AM
Something that makes the match even more interesting is when they keep scoring goals in the final minutes of the match and these results make Group H keep fighting until the end, because there are 3 teams with the same points and that's very interesting.

Yeah, today PSG can keep 3 points from MU and this results makes them on the top of table. I think PSG now more safe to go to the next round since they are showing their consistant performance. For MU, I can't predict them. But in paper, they just need to keep 1 points to qualified to the next round, so maybe easy for them to get it.
PSG chances of qualifying in that group is very bright while unpredictable Man Utd will slog it out with RB Leipzig, prior to the commencement of matches in this group soccer pundits and analyst tiiped PSG and Man Utd to qualify in the group unfortunately MU was faltered and lost crucial matches they are expected to win , if not careful they will be relegated to Europa league.
3919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest threat to Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2020, 01:41:17 PM
Everybody looks so happy and optimistic about Bitcoin bull rally, everything is going fine for the crypto king and many expect it to last forever including myself. Do you really think so? I'm not talking about some corrective retracement, which is healthy for the market too.
What do you think can be the biggest threat for Bitcoin in current situation? In my opinion it can be only some sudden governments shift in regulations and laws to ban Bitcoin (which I don't really think may happen), otherwise there are basically no obstacles or threats.
The biggest problem for bitcoin may be that the government will simply ban its use once and for all and all crypto exchanges will be outlawed. Of course, some advanced States that understand the value of bitcoin will leave it as a secondary tool, but in most cases, a complete ban will first lead to a decrease in the cost, and then to a complete zeroing of the price of bitcoin.
As it is now I don't think any government ban or restrictions will have any impact  or threat to Bitcoin again, so many past threats, clampdowns and restrictions has no impact at all, in the past it usually from Asian countries despite that Bitcoin has continue to wax stronger and grows leap and bound, these two features decentralized r and anonymous transactions had even make Bitcoin unique and standalone among the digital currencies.
3920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO scams vs DeFi scams on: December 02, 2020, 05:09:16 AM
After scammers ruin ICO in 2018 and onecoin and bitconnet became the biggest ICO fraud cases I thought things will atleast adjust for the better, things looked more promising when IEO took over and became more popular thanks to binance and other top exchanges performance but 2020 is very different, DeFi became a thing and once again scammers have the freedom to operate, something very identical to ICO freedom. All in the name of Decentralized and DEX, Uniswap for example, scammers are now roaming free...

1. They find uniswap as better haven to sell clone tokens
2. Even hacks are happening around DeFi projects almost every month now.

why is DeFi platforms more easier to hack? Or are developers the real culprits hacking their platforms themselves? DeFi failure will forever be a stain in crypto history

There are still vulnerable code that's not yet discovered and some features are still having backdoor. The defi platforms are not a perfect platform and i believe it's still experimental platform that needs a lot of upgrade.
that's why there are lots of defi platforms were getting hacked these days. They lack of regular audit. BTW even audit will not solve this problem.
Then after the upgrading of the vulnerable codes and fixing of loop holes that warranted hacking the system how will they bring back trust to the project? the ugly experience of investors must have dented the image of those Defi projects invariably many investors will shun them just like the days of ICOs later IEOs its will be difficult to redeem their images and reputations
having flooded the cryptos market with hackable and scam projects.
