3921  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system and Pareto principle on: June 02, 2020, 09:37:19 AM
Total earned merits by top 20 merit earners: 595288

The top 20 merit earners have earned 87.8% of total earned merits on the forum.
Top-20 or top 20% mate?
Is it because the top 20% created 80% of posts? Since it's usually related to the work done and post count is one of the easiest metrics available.
3922  Economy / Economics / Re: India's new financial package is a national laughing stock - what do you think? on: June 02, 2020, 08:54:48 AM
The MoF must be having a terrible headache at the moment lol. I think whatever they can do is limited since we are dealing with a severe economic shutdown. I have this idea about letting people free as before, but instead of giving incentives to boost the demand, the money can be used to guarantee 100% medical treatment if someone becomes infected. So get out and work! Don't be afraid! And even if you get sick because of it, we will give you free treatment.
3923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: June 02, 2020, 08:34:05 AM
I am not already good at strategy. But at least it's a resource to help you decide which game I can win.
Actually, my thread is about the gameplay, not about the "earn money online" stuff since popular mainstream slots game are "centralized," have high HE, and no way you can verify the fairness. However, if you "won't cry if you lose your gambling budget," then you can taste these games.

Even better, if someone can deploy provably fair slots that have much fun and animations, there are many marvelous slots listed on OP that they can "copy."
3924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life soundtrack for Gamblers? on: June 02, 2020, 08:12:46 AM
There are lots of cheap license music if you search "royalty-free music" on Google. Alternatively, you could also create loops of house music. For me, I'd just pick music that I like and match with the video since customer's preference differs widely about it.
3925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino searches at "all time high" during lockdown on: June 02, 2020, 07:37:50 AM
Yea, but they will likely get search results of mainstream casinos, and not the provably fair one. Then they will get raped with "centralized" high HE games.
Perhaps at the moment, casino operators should boost the campaign about provably fair to the mainstream people.

@Cnut237

In the same article you propose:
Quote
There are, however, potentially major challenges for anyone wanting to mine such an asteroid. How do you get it back to Earth through the atmosphere and land it without destroying the planet? Who do you sell it to in space if you can’t get it back to Earth?
Source: https://physicsworld.com/a/the-asteroid-trillionaires/

Going there and then mine all the metals is one issue, and then transport it to the earth is another issue. So much risk involved there hence I'm not sure if private companies can bear all those risks.

I've heard some compelling arguments about Columbus was funded by the government i.e., The Kingdom of Spain, therefore this kind of project might (only) be possible with the government's money.
3927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ICO without crypto currencies on: June 01, 2020, 06:55:09 AM
Id like to ask what are the requirements of registering an ICO?
It depends on your jurisdiction, but IMO you won't need ICO for your project.

Let's say my project won't produce any crypto currency, but needs some voluntarily developers instead of investors who whould be interested in using the created platform for themselves instead of getting any money profit.
It's basically an open-source project.

If it's possible will it be okay to make the number of tokens equivalent to the number of developers participating in the project's development and to give one token to one developer?
Yes, but that is not needed. The token will be worthless just like karma, merit, etc.
If the project can be useful then the devs will be benefit from it anyway, it adds good experience on their resume.

And will such an ICO protect the project's idea of being stoled and used by other people or there's no such a protection and it will be necessary to get some kind of patent?
MIT License? Anyway, before you continue, you should ask yourself if this project will focus on earning profits (commercial) or not.
3928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why has Bcash failed at becoming digital cash? on: June 01, 2020, 06:28:54 AM
But BCH ranked 2nd from the same article you propose, so "nobody" is an exaggeration. I think it's more about the user base since BTC still ranked 1% with over 95% tx (according to the same article). Without onboarding the mainstream people, the market share won't change much since we already have our own favorite coin(s).
3929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Bitcointalk on: June 01, 2020, 06:19:26 AM
The criticism must be passed by a newbie or anyone and with any rank. Because criticism from others is very important to make us aware and become even better in the future.
Thumbs up!
It doesn't matter what rank, age, or social status. Anyone or any idea can be criticized. The problem is how you tell/phrase it so that the meaning can be appropriately delivered.
In the real world, constructive criticism is always valued.
3930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vietnam bursts an illegal casino who used to handle bets worth $3 billions on: June 01, 2020, 06:10:19 AM
Was there anything preventing the guy from registering his casino?
Because it's illegal in Vietnam and you can not run Casino legally. Same here in my local and last year, so called Casino Emperor Somrat was busted for that.
Yep, from various sources, gambling (generally) illegal there.
It doesn't make sense when they have so many revenues and didn't bother to get some license. The reason is simple, it's illegal.
3931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: June 01, 2020, 06:02:20 AM
Bump!

Removed:
* KingMaker (96.65% - Med/High)

Added:
* Tomb of Nefertiti (96.19% - Med/High): great animation/gameplay.
3932  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Impact Of Commercial Space Exploration on: May 31, 2020, 05:05:12 PM
It's nice to see how humans already capable of such things. However, I still think the project is not promising from an economic point of view. I mean, if it's about tourism, even if we ignore the price, I don't think people will like the experience since they cannot wear flip-flops and drink coconut there. They are more likely to get more stress than relief.

If it's about exploring and then gathering valuable metals, there are many unexplored places on earth. It will still be more feasible to dig here if you calculate the costs.
3933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Analyst: "Covid-19 Could Spur More States to Legalize Online Casino" on: May 31, 2020, 04:48:18 PM
Well, as predicted, the government desperately needs money in this situation. As I said, sports bets seem to be the focus, so we can expect more states will legalize it. Online casinos, however, still in a gray area because it will cause lots of gambling problems if they are not careful. Games like slots, casino hold 'em, blackjack, etc., are highly addicting.
3934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Meme-worthy slots winning reactions (with poll) on: May 30, 2020, 06:15:34 PM
^lol yeah I like videos that still "pure" as well just like the girl.
If you notice, all streamers on OP now become famous. I mean, look at what JugiPelaa. His current setup is expensive.
Anyway, look what I found:

Bonus:

This guy seems to have lots of LOL potential. Perhaps Roo*** should sponsor this guy to ease his pain Grin
I told you here that "buying feature" is risky, so better be prepare.

Win or lose, we love the reactions, since we've been there.
3935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mmorpg, Bitcoin, and Gambling on: May 30, 2020, 04:11:56 AM
But most of MMORPG game really strict about "Real Money Trading", some of them even banned every people who selling an item, gold or anything to the real money. The developer wants to prevent all players to become an PAID PLAYER, went the new user will be greatly wrecked against the paid player. But even with that's rules we still have some player who doing an RMT on MMORPG game.
Yeah that's why "I'm afraid the operator will need some license if the game involves real money"
Instead of playing catch game with the item/account sellers and paid players, it's better to create a system that accommodates them.
A system that doesn't incentivize multi-account since users play with their money at stake (not the casino one, lol).
3936  Economy / Economics / Re: If Recession Kicks In, How Will Bitcoin Perform? on: May 30, 2020, 03:56:09 AM
Will Bitcoin go down with the global market?
High probability, yes.

In a recession, inflation tends to fall, and if (for example) the US inflation rate becomes lower than the BTC emission rate, USD would likely appreciate against BTC.

Perhaps what you were looking for is about hyperinflation?
3937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson vs Holyfield Charity Fight on: May 29, 2020, 12:27:45 PM
This is much better than the YouTubers' fight!
Well even if both are unfit for a serious match, at least we can see the peek-a-boo and the mighty headbutt one more time. That said, I hope both will fight clean if it's going to happen.
I'd pick Holyfield since he still trains and his body not as deteriorate as Tyson.
3938  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US Moving Away from Capitalism and Free Market? on: May 29, 2020, 08:51:31 AM
Quote
inflation
Is the expansion of the monetary base.
According to Bitcointalk school of economics?

Neither the Austrian nor the mainstream said that inflation is solely about printing money.

The Austrian view is about the system as a whole, about the price changes due to the money supply changes, while the mainstream says that it is correct in the long run. Still, both said it's about price changes.

Without acknowledging such a simple term, people cannot learn more about inflation in mainstream (real-world) economics, e.g., core inflation, demand-pull, cost-push, wage push, etc. https://www.economicshelp.org/blog/2656/inflation/different-types-of-inflation/

So when people see the price increases inflation even after seasonality adjustment, it is not necessarily because of central banks playing with the money supply. Remember M v / Y = P, even if v and Y are pretty stable, it still can change (in the short run) due to various reasons.
https://www.economicshelp.org/macroeconomics/inflation/monetarist-theory-inflation/

Is it possible to achieve a price balance in the market through aggregate supply and aggregate demand?
Did you mean equilibrium? Well, in macroeconomics, when you plot AD and SRAS, you will get the equilibrium point. But this is not about one single price or price discovery like in microeconomics.

If it's about market equilibrium, then read about "Notes on equilibrium."
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/equilibrium.asp

If the free market system does not fail, of course, state intervention will not be used as a way to accelerate economic balance, which ends in a red carpet leading to the second world war.
The problem is the free market (laissez-faire) was never fully implemented, not even before the great depression. Like you said, maybe it is just a utopia since humans are bad, so the idea of the (humane) self-interest is irrational.

Anyway,

There are still lots of beers here. Anyone else cares to join the discussion? lol
3939  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io — 💜A brief guide on investing in USDT 💜 on: May 28, 2020, 07:34:46 AM
^Relax mate, people know the risk and they still put their money on USDT. It's their decision and they are free to do whatever they want with their money. If you feel so irritated then when your prediction comes true, go ahead and say "I told you but you didn't listen."
3940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All hope is lost?? on: May 28, 2020, 07:24:38 AM
is this the end of the road for me?
Yes if it's solely about your 10 ETH.

Or I still have hope?
No if it's only about your 10 ETH

How can I recover?
Take this as a learning experience, move on, and keep working smart to earn more money ethically. Everyone makes mistakes.
I advise you not to do speculative trade since it's risky. You might not be able to get away if you go too deep in debt.
