3921  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New miner. on: September 08, 2014, 12:55:21 PM
Yes it is the Block Erupter Cube. I can not configure it to work with the client. What can you advise?

Start with the Dogie guide first:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=352658

Follow everything step by step.  Go through that entire thread first, as the answer to the question might be answered already by someone within the thread.

If you still can't figure it out after reading every page in that thread, then post here for assistance.

How to make the client for OS saw a miner on a network or USB

Just when you try to contact him on port COM5 get an error.

Which device did you end up getting, the Block Erupter Cube?

I know there's some sort of language barrier, but you still have to be specific if you're asking for help in these forums.
3923  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Ready to mine, what do you think of my setup/safety? on: September 05, 2014, 07:32:03 PM
No problem with your technical setup per se, just as the others said, I'd put electrical tape on the paperclip jumper.

Personally, I'd put it in a room that I wouldn't have company in, like a storage closet, shed, basement, garage etc.

Living type rooms could be spell disaster if you have guests that knock over the table, kids that play with the PSU or Ant, or pets that like to jump on furniture.

Anyways good luck with your mini mine!   Grin
3924  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TuringStations Razor Bitcoin Miner (The worlds first 7 TH miner) shipping now on: September 05, 2014, 07:22:59 PM
And WTF are all those connectors for? [...] Looks like an old server.
Just dropping this here: As pointed out by 'Needs Investigating' in the first-linked article, it's a RAID Storage Controller; http://www.sansdigital.com/accuraid/ar424ir.html

Screenshot of the page from where TuringStations lifted an image and claim it's their Bitcoin miner:

Well it might not hash any coins for you, but it sure will serve a mean ass virtual machine!   Cool

I see these servers all the time racked and stacked.
3925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook on: September 05, 2014, 07:14:04 PM
I believe Bitcoin will have a larger impact than Facebook when all is said and done: economically, sociopolitically, philanthropically etc...just that we're still several years from seeing this come to fruition.  When it does reach mass network effect, Bitcoin can be used for elections and the voting process, used for large scale charitable movements, used for large scale fundraising for a grass roots cause, used as a global payment and money transmitter and remitter.  There's some signs of this happening, but not quite the scale I'm talking about.

Facebook is global, is the largest multinational social media website, is on practically every PC, MAC, phone, tablet, and portable device.

Bitcoin can and I believe will get there, but to dethrone Facebook, will take a truly global revolution in the way everyone sees it.  Someone mentions Facebook, you already know what that person is talking about.  "Oh that's the site where you see everyone's vacation pictures".  "Everyone shares their favorite pages and likes and dislikes and pokes with imaginary gifts, before going on their virtual farm".  "Everyone at school is on it, we see their spring break pics all the time."  "Aww, isn't that cutest baby ever, look at the video of her crawl!"

Bitcoin still isn't common speak, still isn't on that level where a 9 or 10 year old can describe pretty much what it's all about.  If we get there, it'll be once we have soccer mom's talking about their Bitcoin savings, several Mom and Pop stores selling everything in the store in Bitcoin, and the immigrant worker working hard sending money back home to Central America, South America, Europe, Asia etc in Bitcoin....we still have a ways to go.
3926  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 05, 2014, 06:31:29 PM
Glad I got to see that handiwork, Debitme.  It's as unprofessional and childish as I have imagined.

Instead of provoking the very customers that fueled your scummy operation, why don't you make sure your worthless no ROI X-3's don't burst into flames like vampires in daylight?

Next thing you know, someone's house catches on fire or worse severe injury occurs.

Try and do worse than BA when it comes to incompetence and negligence, you can't!
3927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with one full bitcoin? on: September 05, 2014, 02:17:42 PM
What do you do with one full Bitcoin?  Why you HODL on to it and never let it go!  You hold it and squeeze and kiss it good night and never let it out of your sight.

My precious.....

At least that's what I do with my shiny babies...
3928  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 05, 2014, 02:12:56 PM
HAHA they blocked my IP address, and now when I try to go to their website, I get a page that says...
"Asshole Detected!"

They actually took the time to create a webpage that directs certain blocked people to that calls them assholes.  This has reached a new level of funny, I will definitely be TOR'ing around this in about 2 seconds and defaming/spamming their emails once again.

Could you post an imgur to that page image?

Would like to see it for my own entertainment purposes.   Tongue

Sometimes you just have to laugh at the epic level of incompetence and negligence of this scam operation.
3929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you store >100 Bitcoins? on: September 05, 2014, 01:54:33 PM
5 x 20 BTC paper wallets, into a bank safety deposit box that only me and my significant other have access to.

5 x 20 BTC wallet.dats on 5 USB sticks in my home safe that only me and my significant other know the combination.

Done.   Cool
3930  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the best profitable hardware to buy right now besides butterflylabs? on: September 04, 2014, 05:47:38 PM
Any recommendations? I have a $10,000 budget.

I cannot believe you're a full member in the Bitcointalk forum with 238 activity, and you dare mention Butterflylabs like they're a legit company.

How much did you buy this forum account for?

3931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new,looking to start mining. on: September 04, 2014, 02:18:21 PM
I am not so experienced, but as far i know BTC mining at home is almost dead. So think about BTC trading buying and hodling instead of mining.

Fixed that for you.   Grin

And there endeth the lesson.
3932  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: September 04, 2014, 02:06:42 PM
Congrats Logical on your pending ROI!   Cheesy

Threads like yours should actually be stickied so all newbies and newcomers to the mining scene can actually see how difficult it is to mine at home for ROI or profit, nevermind those industrial sized mining operations.

Great service you're doing for the community with your behind the scenes blog like study.
3933  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 04, 2014, 01:47:42 PM
Funny... I had 419 pages available, and now, 417 ! Someone is deleting posts !

Question, who is still expecting to get a compensation from BA ? It is just for statistical purposes...

Yes, they deleted a bunch of posts including mine.

Their scam knows no end, they have no moral compass.  Just lying, thieving conniving greedy bastards of an operation that shitted on the very customers that funded their long con.

Can't believe they have the gall to continue operations with their purported Scrypt Miner in May of 2015, after the X-1 and X-3 debacles.

In the end, I hope they get their comeuppance soon, it'll happen, I'm sure.  They'll get theirs somehow.
3934  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-E Down??? Please confirm on: September 03, 2014, 09:15:31 PM
I'm currently getting an "Error 502 Bad Gateway" on BTC-e.com.

Hopefully any customer coins they have are stored securely somehow.
3935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core Developer says Bitcoin Too Fragile and in its Infancy on: September 03, 2014, 06:11:15 PM
Watched the video, not sure where he said anything negative about Bitcoin.

He's merely talking from a developers perspective, and cites the "Malleability issue" when Mt. Gox lost all those coins.

Basically talking code problems when a technology is just 5 years in.
3936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who controls the Bitcoin software? on: September 03, 2014, 05:47:49 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized, you're basically your own bank.

You're in charge of the type of wallet(hot or cold), the backups, the failsafes, the transaction fees when sending to another party.

That's one of the beauties of it.  It gives the power to the people, not a central bank.
3937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost .2164 btc learn from my mistake on: September 03, 2014, 05:43:42 PM
Could happen when writing and signing a check fast or doing a bill pay online also.

Proofreading errors and typos happen from time to time when human intervention is involved.  Not just in Bitcoin transactions.

Moral of the story, double check anything involving money, it's not just isolated to BTC.

3938  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i get some free Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2014, 05:39:22 PM
I'm also looking for free money. If you have any, please give it to me. I also take dollars and Euros, if that makes it easier.

I'm a Platinum and Diamonds guy myself.  Fine, I'll take Gold too!

Anyone got a few carats to spare?   Cry
3939  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Cheap HI-Power equipment on: September 03, 2014, 03:20:14 PM
If you have free and infinite power, get a bunch of Antminer S1s and overclock each and everyone of them.

Some users are selling for dirt cheap, in some cases just giving them away.  If you could get 100 of them and with cheap server PSU's for like $75 per Ant S1, you'd probably be in the green by late October/early November (equipment costs only).

Cooling costs is a whole other discussion.
3940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie starting his BTC hobby. on: September 03, 2014, 03:01:31 PM
For Now if you don't have not enough money for the investation, you have to think twice if you want to invest your money into bitcoin mining as CEO.IX or PBmining.com. it because of the fluctuating price of bitcoin, so you can not predict how much profit will be earned, maybe that should be calculated first is how long it would return on investment

Actually, I wouldn't recommend any cloudmining at the moment, as none will return a profit or ROI.  If you absolutely must, at least pick one with a reasonable price tag.  Know going in that you won't profit probably, but at least you're getting decent bang for your buck:

Buy a few hashes, accrue some coin, but if you truly want to gain the most Bitcoin with the least effort and time, just buy it at an exchange.
