3921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $20+Day! Villages in Philippines survive Covid playing Axie Infinity on: November 01, 2020, 10:00:17 PM
The ironic thing behind most scammers is that they have themselves been in desperate situations and know exactly the right things to lure their fellows into over investing themselves.

As they are pretty active in the crypto scene relative to nearby countries, Filipinos are also the targets of a lot of scammers... Ponzi scams, cloud mining scams, doubler scams... On one hand their main wallet, Coins.ph, is a resounding success in terms of crypto use case scenarios as it allows people to buy phone plans, pay bills, cash out to remittance centers and easily send coins to others; on the other hand, it makes it incredibly easy to get scammed and lose much-needed income.

A lot of Filipinos still don't understand how dirty scammers can be when it comes to crypto - I've heard a lot of horror stories of people losing their savings in what should have obviously been a scam - which is why its refreshing to have a legit product providing good income for a change. If you make $20 a day in the Philippines you are pretty much killing it compared to most of the country.

Financial literacy is on the increase, at least as lessons are learned -- the first wave of adopters will have been hit pretty hard by scams compared to future generations to follow, who can learn from the mistakes of those who went first.
3922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $20+Day! Villages in Philippines survive Covid playing Axie Infinity on: November 01, 2020, 01:19:11 AM
It was certainly a godsend to the people who made a good living from it, but I don't think its a trend that would continue to infinity, especially as more and more people found out about it, driving the price of the token they were earning and selling over and over. Demand for the game would have to continue to pick up, which I don't think that it did -- although its certainly an interesting economic model that is likely to continue well into the future.

3924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Collectibles: Topps launches Garbage Pail Kids NFTs on WAX on: October 31, 2020, 04:33:23 AM
Welcome and thanks for bumping my thread! I'd forgotten about it.

Since last time, WAX released another series of Garbage Pail Kids, but these ones are currently selling much cheaper than series 1 as several more copies were minted of each card this time around. I just hold about 20-30 Topps GPK NFTs at the moment, no more WAX to speak of, but I will be paying attention to find out when Topps is slated to start releasing sports cards as NFTs.

I looked for this screenshot for about 5 minutes and gave up

Lackluster expose on fake news.

If this was posted as a Scam Accusation I don't think it would hold up.

Dumped some at $12387. Posting here so I can be laughed at later.

Is this where I go full nocoiner troll or should I wait until $20k?

You missed your chance to dump under $10k in early August. That's how no-coiner trolls are made.
3928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT on: October 27, 2020, 10:02:36 PM
Hi guys,

I tried to access the website with no success.

anybody can help me, I just join in bitcointalk, how to make a announce of my project and new coin?

Thanks sorry any inconvenience.

Howeycoins website is down??  Shocked   Huh

Hey, no it isn't! You scared me for a second! The bonus sale is still ongoing, it ends in 14 days, 22 hours and 26 minutes...

You may want to give the HoweyCoins website a complete read-through for some ideas on how to start your own coin. Then, if you still want to, just create a topic in the Altcoin Announcements section, and voila, you're your own mint, on the road to infinite riches, both monetarily and spiritually.
3929  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Evasion for Alamjob239/Bla2kja2k/acemax/RainbowSky on: October 27, 2020, 09:51:46 PM
Is there something he needs to specifically do to get banned? I would consider his current actions sufficient - though he has been somewhat good the past 2 or 3 days - maybe he saw this thread...

My report remains Unhandled while several others since then have already been marked. That means the mods weren't convinced/satisfied with the evidence presented thus far.

You have to directly link the banned account to the current account. Usually this is done via coin address or social media account posted by the user in a forum post -- or else an on-forum admission that they are the same person.

I've been having the same struggle with a particularly shitty troll (far, far more pointless and vicious than this alamjob guy) for over an entire year. It might be obvious to everyone paying attention that they are absolutely the same person as a banned account but without definitive proof that can be readily spoonfed to the mods, they are unlikely to do anything.

Damn sensor ships... where are the social media regulations that Trump promised. I tried betting on a Trump win and:

This was in response to:

If anyone else trustworthy wants to join in, I'd be up for making the same charity-bet several more times.

Maybe I'm not trustworthy enough. Anyway, I lost fair and square, so sad.

That is very funny -- not often do you see $140 jokes being made around here.

I don't have the confidence you do that Trump has already lost. Too shattered since last time. If we learned anything from 2016, its that nobody really knows what the fuck is going on.
3931  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Avoid auto-buy links, mainly locked or self moderated. Register before dealing on: October 27, 2020, 09:02:35 PM
from when option given from the forum "locked thread" or "self-moderated" is something bad?
instead of tagging people using forum feature, tell the admin to remove it?
or you are acting as people above the administration of this forum and act by yourself because the admin do not care what people do here?
all of us have right to use the options provided from the forum, no matter we are newbies or high ranks. features is created to be used.
and just because many scammers use auto-buy links, other people who use them for fast deals doesn't make them scammers.

They have plenty of legitimate uses which aren't shared by scammers such as yourself. You're not a newbie. You've been getting busted and coming back as a new account for years. Did it ever occur to you that you suck at scamming and perhaps should move on?
3932  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: October 27, 2020, 08:58:25 PM
The debate went well with Joe Biden who is when educated than Trump who is the president of US correctly. Joe Biden mentioned so many amenities he will help the government to achieve in one year if elected as the president of US. Many citizens are changing their minds with Joe Biden talk which are words of politics.
Trump is not educated like Biden but if it comes to richest Trump is more richer than joe Biden. Biden will surely win this debate because of his speech that is touching every body to change their mind to choose him as the next president.

China needs to work on their their pro Biden bots. ^^
3933  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source unapplication - Vlad2Vlad on: October 27, 2020, 12:32:38 PM
Hmm... You're right. I forgot that its # merited + # merited by... throws off my statistics just a little bit. Well I'm too lazy to find what I was actually looking for but I'm certain if I did it wouldn't have much of an impact on the results.

I've really been going out of my way to find different profiles to merit. Vlad doesn't. Nor does he often get merited by people he hasn't already sent merits to.
3934  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: October 27, 2020, 09:58:33 AM
how did you get to activity 1192+ and not know some of these basic things that keep the Forum going?

Because he was gone during the introduction of the flag system and came back only recently.

FWIW @Rux, I believe you that you didn't sell your account.

seljačino Cheesy

Im gonna do EX-Yugoslavia languages

add Ex-Yu

If it was sold, it must have been sold to another Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian.

However, its unfair to assume that it has been sold based on the lack of supporting evidence.

You also didn't really understand how merits work so I don't blame you for that either.

The person who left you your one trusted red tag has passed so there's no chance of removing that tag, unfortunately.

What's worse is if you click on the link to their website or white paper (the first one, the second one is just a .jpg of a fancy white paper cover, lol), you get this message:

So yeah. Complete scam. The thread and OP should probably be nuked. Weird because they put an awful lot of time into developing it, and you busted them right away, LOL.
3936  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: October 27, 2020, 09:09:33 AM
I have also been accused of being part of "Lauda's Gang" on at least a couple of occasions; a good thing that comes from this dissolution is now idiot scammers who get busted can't readily blame being busted on Lauda. I'm sure that they will continue the tradition anyway because they are, after all, pretty dumb, and that's why they are scammers.

Also... now that TECSHARE has unexpectedly taken some sort of lengthy or indefinite hiatus, the Clown Car gang doesn't have a clear motive anymore. So I guess I go back to my default membership in the Hat Gang ("set" of the Wall Observer gang).

3937  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source unapplication - Vlad2Vlad on: October 27, 2020, 08:34:25 AM
Regardless of issues that are potentially subjective, Vlad is extremely odd objectively (statistically) as a merit source.

His actions are far different from every other source that is allotted close to as many source merits per month as he is.

I identified 12 other merit sources that receive roughly within 30 merits +/- of what Vlad gets per month, based on publicly available data. I don't really feel bad about sharing these names as they are all identifiable using DdmrDdmr's Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard (its pretty much considered public knowledge who the sauces are now, right?).*

The Merit/Profile and Circle (total # of profiles merited) stats are taken from BPIP.

Merit SourceMerit/ProfileCircle
bitmover4.8656
BobLawblaw15.5279
cabalism136.0512
CryptopreneurBrainboss4.3709
EFS8.7507
Jet Cash5.4741
joniboini7.6458
mindrust4.8599
nutildah4.7876
paxmao4.7811
philipma19574.4637
Royse7776.2436
Average6.4602
St.Dev.3.2171
High +1 St.Dev.9.6773
Low -1 St.Dev.3.3430
Vlad2Vlad34.3109

Basically what the data says is he's not really trying to find new profiles to send merit to (compared to his peers), instead sending a lot of merits to the same profiles over and over, or else all at once.

Of the 12 peer profiles used to generate the average, only 1 sticks out significantly, and Vlad is more than twice as "bad" as them (as far as "Merit Source Duties" are concerned).

At the end the other thread was taken over by Vlad2Vlad with a huge lot childish answers (of which at least many were deleted) and I fear that this may happen here too.

Yep I was about to mention that thread as well. At the time, I didn't realize he was a merit source and just thought, well he can do what he wants. But to see him using source merits to rank up well-known trolls and potential alt accounts, well now I'm of the opinion that he shouldn't be able to do what he wants. More specifically, he shouldn't be a merit source.

After i told them what happened some of them registered just to state their point, but true, it looks awfully shady   Grin

It does.  Grin

and you gave me another red flag for trying to clear my name?

damn guys, some of you are really hard on me, i don't understand why

thank you for @vod for ruining my account i hope you are happy

tbh im sad to see what you guys did to bitcointalk forum

LOL bro. What are you talking about? Vod didn't give you a red flag, you gave him a red flag! (well, yellow technically). He left you a neutral trust feedback, which is hardly the end of the world. I have no idea if you sold your account or not but you definitely over-reacted here. Not a great way to make friends and influence people.
3939  Other / Meta / Re: How many hours are you connected daily? on: October 27, 2020, 05:54:45 AM
Thanks for updating your poll to include my option.  Cheesy

2-3 hours.

It seems crazy to me when I type it out but its pretty much an unavoidable fact. I'd say I spend far more time reading than writing (as should anybody).

My overall time on the forum has almost doubled in the last 2 years or so... I'll be coming up on 200 days after 8 more days of forum time!

50 days a year = 1,200 hours

1,200 hours / 365 days 3.28 hours per day, sheesh. Guess I voted wrong.

If I average since the beginning of my account, that's 192 of 2,380 days, or 1.93 hours a day. That sounds more sane.

K, just saw Filippone's post and now I feel better about myself. Sorry Filippone but its for a good cause.
3940  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New Way to Scam through Nitrogen Sports [DT Attention Required] on: October 27, 2020, 05:39:36 AM
Good catch. This is a link to a page with malware and should be reported as such. Whoever is behind this has been at it for quite some time. They make their post, it gets reported and deleted, and the account gets banned. Then the cycle is repeated, over and over again. I think somebody started a thread specifically for reporting this problem but I don't remember what it was.

Next time just make a post in this thread:

Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !

and it will be reported and dealt with. Thanks.
