3921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: August 08, 2014, 10:26:18 PM
I made a Mooncoin chart some time ago.

Essentially, we are still in the hyperinflationary phase at the beginning of the chart. With some 137 billion Moons issued, about 1/3rd of the total Mooncoins have been issued with a steep issue continuing until we reach 200 billion Moons. After that, the rate of issue declines significantly.

Please note that you are looking at a chart for 21.7 years. Reaching the first 200 billion Mooncoins takes about 1 year.

Each set of 25,000 blocks takes about 26 days. There are about 350,400 blocks processed annually.
Please keep this in mind when looking at the following inflation projections.

The inflation rate is measured as the total coins issued in one set of 25,000 blocks compared to the total coins minted after that set. Inflation starts at 100%/25k blocks but soon goes to 1% after one year. After 375,000 blocks (with about 200 billion Moons issued) - after 1 year of Mooncoin - the inflation rate per block is about 0.3%/25k blocks That adds up to an annual inflation of about 4.2%. No big deal.

A closer look at the inflation rate per 25k blocks. With 425,000 blocks, a total of 205 billion Moons will have been issued. The inflation rate then is the above-mentioned annual inflation rate of about 4.2%.

The time of investing in Mooncoin is NOW  Cool

Moons for this analysis are welcome  Grin

200k block is approaching but I understand we will have a temporary extra amount of Moons issued because of the Apollo aniversary?
Could lead to some extra dumping of Moons on the exchanges.

Fresh minutes from the BCB:

1) No QE, despite pressure on bitcoin exchange rate to most currencies.

2) The benchmark interest rate is set to float, in fact there is no benchmark interest rate.

3) The BCB foreign currency reserves, which consist of a bucket of foreign currencies the world trades with over the borders, stays at zero.

4) The president declared that the dual responsibilities of the BCB, low inflation and low involuntary unemployment, have been abolished.

5) The president has resigned, as there is nothing more to do.

True freedom.
3925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hyperbitcoinization on: July 27, 2014, 03:59:20 PM
Hyperbitcoinization - the idea that the end game is not the flattening out like the top of an S, but rather a final explotion that finishes off all fiat at once, due to a speculative attack on the part of investors.

Nice writing. Good site.

They mischaracterized Thier's Law.

And Greshams Law is the generally accept principle "bad money drives out good".  There are exceptions however in extreme cases

Gresham's law sees to situations where bad money "must" be accepted, not in voluntary situations. Otherwise, the recipient would just refuse bad money.

This long time of sideways has got me scratching my head. Paging Masterluc!

Just wait another 6 months to understand the meaning of slowly grinding lower.

Ouch. Slow grind to retest the $340 low?

No one knows but I meant to paint a picture of a really 'long time' of no action (sideways or slowly decreasing). I favour that scenario.

In order for that some new horrible news would have to happen. If not, there is absolutely no reason to think we will stay at these relatively low levels for long.

I have seen a lot of positive news and MSM articles on Bitcoin and it did not impact price notably or consistently. There's no hype and that - in the long run - is good.

It's better for Bitcoin to rally due to increased use than because of hype (although hype is a necessary part).

This technology is still in its infancy. I can fully identify with Masterluc's earlier idea of an extended period of 'no price action'. Meaning more than one year at least. I have been through the slow grind after the 2011 bubble. Not very exciting but with an important resolution in the end  Roll Eyes
