3921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Wants Your Opinion on: September 08, 2021, 06:42:08 AM
CZ only tweeted and he's not asking our opinion. It's YOU who is asking. Change the misleading title.
I bet the poster just wanted to make the topic captivating enough to get people to read it without realising it's needless doing so. It's called sensational journalism. Going by Musk's own tweet, he has a positive mindset already that it's just a matter of time before other countries join in the fray –"Just the beginning" as he says. For CZ, reading into that tweet of his, I see a man who is satisfied with the fact that there's motion in place already towards adoption.

My opinion on this is simply that Bitcoin, and by extension the entire crypto sector, is better off in the current post Bitcoin halving year than it was in 2017. One can only but imagine the tremendous spike (not the dip we're currently experiencing) had El Salvador been India, Japan or the US. For me, no leap is a small one. There's always a start point for anything and we should also remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, after all.
3922  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 07, 2021, 09:54:21 PM
We needed a diversion!
I bet no one thought of it happening today; Bitcoin shedding off around $6k in less than 24hrs is unbelievably terrible.
3923  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 07, 2021, 09:44:40 PM
I wonder if Im going to panic sell and lose all my money, again... I feel like I got this Roll Eyes. But just in case, maybe some HODL motivation meme gifs? Much appreciated. Thanks. Grin
... Lemme go in search of one for you. But whatever happens before I get back, don't sell off! It's a bear trap!

😆😆

Now, I think you will value your account a lot more and take a more careful approach to the design of your posts. I am glad that the forum has not lost such a participant as you. Welcome back.
So true! Thank you, bro. You're part of the reason I'm still here. I appreciate your input.
3926  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal for Pokapoka124 on: September 07, 2021, 09:52:46 AM
By the way, Mpamaegbu, you will surely be reading this topic, I would like to say that the reading was fun. And especially I got acquainted with many sayings that you often use, it is sometimes useful in our life. The proverb that if you do not know a person, do not judge, but first get to know him, as never before, fits the case with Mpamaegbu. Smiley
Your comment here means a lot to me because I don't see you as someone who is given to flattery, having come across some of your posts in the past. Thanks for perusing my posts. Like I said earlier, that debacle unmasked my solitary status on the forum. I don't know whether to be happy for it or not, anyway 🤔.

Honestly, I think the forum would need to review its policy on punishment for plagiarism. I do think that a warning should be there for first offenders before the ultimate strike. I'm moved to tears for the user Pokapoka124. I know what it feels like to be faced with such damnable situation, having just come out of ban myself for something I ordinarily wouldn't have thought of doing. I mean, plagiarism is as bad as theft (no, strike that out.)...as armed robbery. It's intellectual "thievery" permit the use of that expression.

But the truth remains that someone might indulge in plagiarism without even knowing it. It may not be a slip like in my case but complete lack of knowledge of it. Most newbies are caught up with this, especially those who stumble on this forum without anyone holding their hands to show them where and where to read on the forum. Yes, I know the sticky threads are there but most newbies (even veteran members) don't have that patience of thorough reading. They just scan through. That isn't in anyway an excuse to justify plagiarism, though.

@airfinex and I have been having chats after my case was resolved yesterday. There were certain stuff that could even constitute plagiarism that they brought to my awareness and I'm trying to convince them to open a thread for teaching on plagiarism. It should be an interactive thread, not a sticky like we already have, so that samples could be taken and thrashed for members to know. I hope they take up that challenge or someone else does. BTT should be a forum of support and strength to all and not one that unjustifiably seeks to victimize.

Pokapoka124, is a very active and valuable member of this community and an asset to our Nigeria Local Board, All board discussion welcomed. I almost teared up while going through that thread I have running on African Proverbs in Pidgin and seeing his posts and knowing he's banned and can't comment there ATM. @lovesmayfamilis, I'm sure you read some of his posts there too.

I ain't an emotional person but surprisingly this got to me. Please, mods temper justice with mercy on Pokapoka. This community still needs him.

3930  Economy / Reputation / My ban; concerns and gratitude on: September 06, 2021, 06:26:27 PM
I'm short of words, frankly speaking (writing, actually as is the case). I really don't know how to begin my show of gratitude to the community and all those who were directly involved in my account getting unbanned.

However, I have to commence somewhere. In no particular order, my immense gratitude goes to Hilariousandco for waging into the matter speedily. The Pharmacist and Suchmoon who kept making candid suggestions without bias on what could've gone wrong or missed. Ratimov, CryptopreneurBrainboss for showing up when it mattered most. Frengki_cisco, UserU who had to chase me to telegram to make sure I was okay. My homeboys Charles-Tim, GeorgeJohn, Upgrade00, Engineer Igehhh (funny dude with the who dey breeeeeet congratulatory message!), Smartvirus, una too much! You now know that blood is thicker than water right 😏. Bestchange for granting me that privilege to hop in immediately.

I'm a solitary kind of person (not a recluse though) when I choose to be. And most times I choose to as my way of avoiding issues with people. While that debacle that inadvertently brought my moniker to public glare lasted, a lot of things ran through my mind. Chief among them was what would become of African Proverbs in Pidgin where we share home grown but internationally relevant nuggets and the Nigeria Local Board, All board discussion welcomed which is now home to most of us Nigerians on the forum, far detached from the stress and tales of horror at home. Yes, our dear country is going through a lot at the moment. That thread has kept a lot of us looking forward to this forum daily as respite. I'm optimistic that one day, theymos in his magnanimity will grant us that local board we seek.

I also want to thank airfinex who pointed that problematic post out and made me realize I could do better. I bare them no grudges. He's the reason for my unexpected popularity 😆 outside my local board (so to say). I'm sure going forward we shall become buddies as I know in my heart. For those whose names skipped me for a mention, do pardon me. It's not done on purpose.

Going forward, I will like to encourage the community to build a castle of friendship, rather than a wall of antagonism. The best we can do as humans is to create a purpose to intentionally accommodate others who mean well but may share different views from ours. I ain't talking of scammers and fraudsters here. From my recent experience I have come to realize that there are some who get punished for unintentional slips or no slips at all but who couldn't find the appropriate way to defend the allegations against them. It's usually a single accused against the community and oh mine, the questions come in torrents.

While maintaining that plagiarism should be frown at and punished, I sincerely wish the other dude, Pokapoka, gets a relief. He's someone who has shown cause to be useful to the community and has immensely developed their ability to learn and also help others. I know he's highly devastated at the moment.

Let me speedily end this here by saying I'm now more determined to be a better and more focused forum member with that experience as a feather in my cap.

One love all 😘

Edited – Oh mine! How did I skip LoyceV who whitelisted my appeal account within minutes it was mentioned to them. Thank you a great deal, LoyceV.

1hr TF

4hr TF

It would seem that there's much room up there than down for Bitcoin to find a place, both on the 1hr and 4hr TFs. I don't even see any resistance up as it were right now.
Bitcoin spikes above $50k today. It actually got to $50,476 before retracing to $50,100+. That was the kind of scenario I perceived when I made the quoted post on August 29th. It's playing out now. There are some who project it could get way into $60k once it breaks into the $50k range. Only time will tell how that will work out in days to come. I'm still bullish on Bitcoin.
3933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New to Launchpads advice on: September 04, 2021, 07:09:28 PM
First, I think you will do well avoiding posting in a row like you just did. You can merge your comments or quotes by editing your earlier post to accommodate the second one.

Give us a idea on what are stringest measures of qualifications required? Do you have to be a accredited investor status or angel investors who are professional investors?

Im just a retail investor.
Besides the KYC thing, there's also the tiers for allocation rounds to be met ranging from Bronze to Diamond categories. All that I find herculean for average investors to meet up with.

Can you shed some light on which projects altcoins where cheaper in the public market in compared to the private sales held on BSCpad?
For want of space I will leave you with one recent one. In the pic, the top one is the price that token was sold on BSCPAD while the second one is the current price on Coingecko. What that means is that at the current price one can have 10 of the same token for $0.64 while it sold on the pad for way more at 8.33 tokens for 1 BUSD (BTW, 1 BUSD is an equivalent of $1). At a point, Fanadise even went down to $0.04 after listing.

3934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT a Future of Crypto? on: September 04, 2021, 05:36:51 PM
As we all know that, Non Fungible Token (NFT) is very hot topic these days. But, I want to know what's the future of NFT and is it the good investment for future?
Yes, I think NFT tokens are great to invest in at the moment. It's the part of cryptocurrency that celebrities are embracing speedily with some of them getting their stuff on it in order to make more money and stamp their presence on their fans the more. My only worry is for the trend not to be highjacked by unscrupulous devs and turned into scam enterprise as in what we had seen in the past with raves of the moments like ICOs, lending coins and others. These things start well until fraudsters come into it and muddle the water. So, while you're investing; choose wisely.
3935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crytpo coin/tokens??? on: September 04, 2021, 11:50:32 AM
Well, I can say it is good if you know how to jump in and jump out the market at the right time.
The only way one succeeds with this jump in and jump out strategy of yours is if one were a creator of a group that gives out signals. Otherwise one would continue to lose cash attempting to aim entry and exit points. What most pump and dump groups do is that the person who calls the shot or provides the signals buys first before telling the group to buy or sell off. By so doing, they would be in massive gain immediately the group members begin to buy in. It's a simple trick. Those who don't sell off immediately the call is made become the ultimate losers as they will be buying the dump ignorantly. The best way to buy new coins is to check for projects with utility, and not hype. Hype comes and goes but utility and standard remain, even if project runs into a hitch those with utility normally bounce back.
3936  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: September 04, 2021, 08:48:32 AM
Thank you @examplens for bringing my attention to that. I wouldn't have known if not for your post here. But here is What actually happened.
3937  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: September 04, 2021, 08:18:19 AM
Honestly, I thought I put a link at the end and can't really explain how that skipped me. That thread was closed almost immediately it started and I never went back to it until when this issue came up, perhaps I would've observed I didn't put a link there if it were open and people were posting there. It's an honest slip. I never intended to plagiarize that write-up or anyone's work as I have given references to write-ups/comments I lift or put them in quotes. I even put out links to the two short articles I cited in threads I started before and after this thread in question was made. I wouldn't intentionally leave out referencing a lengthy article that was obviously not mine. It's a slip, frankly. There's nothing I stand to gain doing otherwise.
3938  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Once a man, twice a child on: September 04, 2021, 03:53:03 AM
I find it difficult to describe the cycle of life from nothing – appears – no longer exists, this for me is a spiritual context in religion, especially Muslims because it is mandated in life lessons and planted so that we respect people who are old, especially to both parents,  should be more, take care of him like he took care of you when you were little.
The truth about life is that there's a spiritual angle to it. Man was first created as a spirit being, according to the Bible in Genesis 1: 26–27 where the soul was imparted into him before he was later made a mortal being from dust as we have in the same Genesis but 2:7.

For me, I have come to associate the same vulnerability I see in children with what happens to everyone at old age and that makes me more sympathetic to them. As children, one wouldn't know what to expect or do but as an very old adult one would know what to do but won't be able to do them. That's kind of frustrating, I bet. It's really sad that someone who is active as we all are now will at some point in the future depend on others for strength and directions. That's the part I detest about growing old.
3939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New to Launchpads advice on: September 04, 2021, 02:33:00 AM
But for me coinlist is the best researcher for top projects.
Oh, for real? I will take a look at that; now that someone on the top echelon vouched for it. I thought BSCpad was the most credible, may be I mistakenly assumed that because I based its reputation on what Binance as an exchange has achieved.

It's not easy to get into Launchpad's private sell. some launchpads require to buy their tokens by tier to determine how much allocation they can get.
That's true. I once tried getting on the BSCPAD when I discovered at what ridiculously low rates investors were buying unlisted tokens compared to when they finally get listed. The ROI was tempting and I was highly tempted to give it a try, even though I had vowed not to buy into any project until it's listed on the market. I gave up the idea once I saw the stringent measures for qualification. However, I have discovered lately that such ROIs may not be there any more as I have bought some tokens mentioned on the BSCPAD recently cheaper than their prices were during private sales.
