3921  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cryptocurrency sites that earn you interest on: March 04, 2020, 09:12:26 AM
What defi are you referring to? The original Ethereum Defi or some other one? I read some defi could warn you upto 7-8% every three/few months. I wouldn't encourage anyone to invest in the centralized ones though. (I wonder if decentralized ones exist atall).
Have you tried Ethereum-based decentralized exchanges? I or 2 have interesting incentives and are fairly decentralized. One of the DEXes let you earn from wallet you are fully in control of. That interests me the most, but I haven't really looked into it.
3922  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Proof of Work algorithm in the public chain. on: March 04, 2020, 08:36:30 AM
Sounds like typical hybrid solutions(proof of work + proof of stake). Both the current PoS and PoW consensus mechanism are not really good for decentralization. We probably could however have some kind of sustainable and decentralized PoW or use decentralized trust combined with our decentralized unique IDs. And you could just remove the consensus from PoS and let the people use it for just staking, helping decentralized networks, etc.
3923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Could Be The Key To World Peace on: March 04, 2020, 08:14:46 AM
Exactly. Governments can actually be part of crypto though.
I think it will help make government  more responsible, less corrupt, less wasteful, more honest etc. I believe there are lots of people in governments that want to be good/honest but can't, due to the current order.
I doubt cryptocurrency will bring world peace though. True World peace can only be achieved under the universal Kingship of the coming True MESSIAH.

"He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore." — Isaiah 2:4

3924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all projects are bad on: March 03, 2020, 01:48:45 PM
Well, I guess not adhering to basic crypto standards is why they find it hard to convince investors especially in difficult times. Developers will need to show investors that their project is technically sound, decentralized, viable, safe, transparent etc in order to convince them.  Hopefully, this standards will be improved, adopted by decentralized community and coded into decentralized crowdfunding platforms to make building crypto-friendly things easier for developers who don't know or understand the purpose of crypto
3925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Collective DEX Volume is Starting to Outperform Some Major Exchanges on: March 03, 2020, 01:24:25 PM
That's good to know. Unfortunately what is lacking at the moment is a ranking system to help investors determine the real/fake decentralized exchanges.
I would likely put in substantial amounts of money in the most decentralized, secure and easy-to-use ones. And the most decentralized ones have to be working constantly to become fully decentralized..if they haven't already
3926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you gamble in a league with serious allegations of collusion? on: March 03, 2020, 10:52:39 AM
There are a lot of rumors in the past about bad things in every team, every time I heard it it is so annoying up to the point that it doesn't matter to me anymore.

All I want to do is just bet on that team no matter what. There might be a player that is hated by the people, or a scandal happened, what matters is that that team is the team I support and no matter what, I will bet on them. The money is not affecting them nonetheless so I think it doesn't matter at all whether I bet or not on them.

For me it doesnt matter as long as it can caused me harm particularly in my money. Also that kind of transaction in gambling is sometimes happen, and no one care about it because they only mind the result of their betting. So if you have problem to that kind of gamble then you should find another games, which satisfy you.

I guess this is about fixing matches and other related sports corruption.
Well, it matter. I believe rules are made for good reasons. If people think the reason is no longer relevant, citizens should come together and agree on a new rule.
If such rules never had any good purpose (like what it's trying to prevent is harmless/good/safe), maybe was passed based on emotions, incorrect information or biases(afterall humans are not very good at being perfect), then you should still not go about encouraging people to break it.  Whether you experiment with it in secluded places, like your home, is upto you. If you truely believe it is harmless and/or good, then let the community know about your experiment, and understand it... They will then likely decide to change it  in a way that really safe for them.
3927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local bookie with high limits for fixed etc on: March 03, 2020, 08:58:44 AM
"Fixed games" is the red flag which gave you away op. Don't waste your time people. This guy is probably a scammer who is looking for gullible newbies and is trying to entice them with high limit local bookie bullshit.

If high limits and no-ban is what you are seeking, there are plenty of books out there like Pinnacle and asian books like SBOBet etc which get the job done and charge low margin on your bets.

Oh, I thought the "fixed games" he's talking about is some sort of bet fixing for customers. He's referring to match fixing that is probably illegally everywhere?
So he/she is basically looking for fixed matches around the world to profit from?
3928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you tried explaining provable fairness to old-school gamblers? on: March 03, 2020, 08:02:01 AM
From the little understanding of Provable fair, I think it involves Transparency and data reliability. One of the simplest ways to create a provable fair-like solution in physical world is through open source development of hardware/software, community participation in a casino, transparency etc. Am trying to understand the best analogy for the provable fair mechanism in Crypto-based gambling.. The analogy will best explain things to your friends and probably help them appreciate its importance.

An example of provable fairness in physical world is probably voters holding copies of election results rather than trusting the election officials not to change the results

3929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Not An Organization on: March 03, 2020, 07:35:33 AM
Bitcoin is probably like the internet, (though internet is fairly centralized).

Bitcoin is not owned by anyone or better still, it is community owned. I think its principles would prevent it from being run like how communist societies run/ran things.

It's just a very different model...a far better model in my opinion.
You can build decentralized applications/things and the profits still goes to you and co-owner, but the profits should be used in such a way that it does not affect Bitcoin or its principles. Profit sharing with your community is also important, for the good of the "owner" and his/her community
3930  Other / Off-topic / Try not to discard your old computers, phones and other important gadgets on: March 03, 2020, 06:03:09 AM
My advice to people especially those in crypto world:  your used gadgets should be gathered together, (probably wrapped with something that can shield them from EMP & other potential harms) and stored somewhere safe in a decentralized manner. You could store them in such a way that you can occasionally back them up with important data from computers, phones or gadgets  you use on daily basis

Time will come when they will be very valuable to decentralized world.

*You could always sell some or give them away especially if you have excess in your backup.
3931  Other / Off-topic / Who is afraid of rules? (lawlessness in "decentralized" communities) on: March 03, 2020, 05:29:46 AM
Let me tell you what will happen after building decentralized systems/applications without rules to regulated how they are used...    "adults" from governments will create the rules when things become chaotic, sanity will return, people will praise the "adults", they will eventually hand cryptocurrency over to governments and justify it.

One of the most important thing missing in decentralized world is rules. Appropriate rules (which includes decentralization/Blockchain friendly rules) should be created by most communities through decentralized concensus to avoid hostile takeover like we are experiencing

3932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when everybody buys the bottom ??? on: March 01, 2020, 12:49:49 PM
If you're referring to Storiqa by STQ then it's not need to ask about it.
It shit / SCAM project since day one, YEAH i invested in it too when i was noob.

Another important golden rule about that bullshit of " buying the dip, buy it while so cheap, bla bla ba ", that doesn't mean it will go up again, not necessarily.

STQ is a dead coin since day one unfortunately, no team, nothing ... just plain bullshit scam project.

I haven't heard about the storiqa coin before, but my guess is that it died because it's not really useful or safe/decentralized. If it is useful and safe, demands will be continous. Price increases should be driven mostly by real demands and not by price manipulations or faking demands. Not a good idea to invest in coin with little to no use case.
3933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My thoughts about privacy coins on: March 01, 2020, 12:01:03 PM
This is just my own personal thoughts about privacy coins, we called XMR and others the best privacy coins and we still send them to exchange to trade, once you trade for other coins you are trackable, how is this an anonymous? No it's not, I think for coins like Monero to maintain their privacy they should have their own ways of converting into other coins without any third parties

There you have it, here is another for developers who are out of idea for new use cases, how about a privacy coin with inbuilt swap on their very own blockchain without involvement of centralized exchanges.

The bolded will be via decentralized exchanges.

Well,  the mistake was probably allowed because developers were interested in adoption and price growth. I honestly would not be comfortable seeing a project I am involved in listed on centralized exchanges for safety reasons. I will encourage the project users to use DEXes more, and probably will never encourage centralized ones unless maybe they are very safe and Crypto-friendly
3934  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: March 01, 2020, 10:46:37 AM
You actually did not give strong reasons why cryptocurrency can't replace fiat currency. Cryptocurrency can actually/theoretically do most things fiat currencies can do, but I doubt typical fiat currencies can safely do most things cryptocurrency can do with losing their centralization. Besides, government can run their fiats on Blockchain or other real decentralized system.

Crypto could actually work better in rural areas than fiat, even without relying too much on internet. But I believe safe/crypto-friendly worldwide rural internet coverage is a possibility in the future
3935  Economy / Economics / Re: I have Good news for bitcoiners on: March 01, 2020, 09:50:27 AM
Price could actually skyrocket if things are allowed to move naturally (and the coin has to useful & safe for people) ...it could dump as well but not as much as overall increase in price.

I actually prefer a gentle ride.. maybe $20,000 this year (depending on demands) and 25-30,000 next year. On a bad period in between both years, we move to $15-10,000.

And if supply/demand is too much, we get the excess coins locked or release automatically and decentrally.
3936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin is used in direct value. on: March 01, 2020, 08:33:53 AM
I think one of the solutions to this is decentralized usage. You don't prevent people from centralized usage though... you only inform them about the long-term consequences.
Whatever necessary societal law that needs to be adhered to, should be transfered to or built in a real decentralized system.
I believe Decentralizion/Blockchain should regulate centralized authorities and not the other way around.

We could have decentralized marketplace, Insurances, real estate, etc without breaking the government laws that govern them.
3937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to get lucky ;) on: March 01, 2020, 07:56:18 AM
I once saw a nice tip on how to get lucky "often" when playing luck-based games like lottery. I think it involves buying tickets together with your group and sharing the prize when the group wins. This is probably a good way to reduce/share risk with you fellow members while increasing your group chances of winning. I think that is probably one of the easiest ways to win more in many luck-based games
3938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Post a gambling site by: Newbie. on: March 01, 2020, 07:40:40 AM
We'll probably need lots of moderators for newbie abuses, and other abuse to be reduced.
I would prefer a situation where many more moderators are picked based on their consistently accurate reports and negligible mistakes. Their activities should probably be transparent... but their real forum names could be cloaked with some random names...so other members/mods don't judge based on their popularity on the forum. This way would be useful because any forum member can also go through their reports and rate their accuracy with either "up, down or neutral votes" (with evidences). You will need to cloak the voters too so they don't vote in fear.
This will help make moderation alot faster.

Lest I forget, we will need to have a clear and precised forum rules (which should be numbered) to help moderators act based on that. If someone is moderating outside of the rules, they will need to be suspended or something.
3939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have an idea in percentage how big gambling industry's contribution? on: March 01, 2020, 07:08:33 AM
In entire crypto market? At least on this forum, we are having more number of gambling campaigns against any other services. But, that does not guarantee that people are converting their fiats for gambling purposes or new people are entering into crypto space for the reason of gambling.

Do you have any track of a famous gambling house started accepting crypto payments in recent times? I mean if we see any such thing then we can assume houses are trying to expand their business by covering crypto people.

In my observation, I do see big number of gamblers online in most gambling sites compared what I have seen some 2 years back. It means more people are gambling than the past years. Also, I have read on this forum that many people had entered into this forum after realizing the benefits of gambling with cryptos like after many bitter experiences with fiat based gambling. It means gambling helps people to adopt cryptos for its own reasons.
In my own perception, I thing the contribution of gambling industry is about 60% because based on my experience it seem many gambler right now is interested and increase even more day by day. Also many players want to enter in gambling world because they want to take the opportunity to win and get earn.

Not sure it's up to 60%, unless you are including cryptocurrency trading as part of gambling. The biggest contributors is most likely trading... lot of big money flow to that area. I believe when crypto is properly decentralized, lots of other things will add to the contribution. Contributions from typical/risky gambling would be less than others of things are handled properly within decentralized communities.
3940  Other / Off-topic / Ideological Fanaticism on: March 01, 2020, 06:29:11 AM
We hold strongly to certain ideologies that we are willing to die for them. What if an ideology you are willing to die for turns out to wrong, harmful, dangerous  or not sustainable long-term?

I strongly believe that the only right , non-harmful, safe, sustainable, ideology is genuine love & respect for our CREATOR, humans/animals, and nature.  With genuine love, respect, and law, you can easily solve lots of complicated problems
