Whatever you do, don't buy those USB stick miners if you're trying to get a small amount of Bitcoin.  Even if it's $20-$30, the speed of those sticks will never ever produce $20-$30 of BTC you could've just bought from a seller or an exchange.

If you literally just need 0.013 BTC, just buy it from LocalBitcoins, Coinbase, or any reputable Bitcoin exchange.

Not sure if this promotion is still valid, or if they stop doing this, but Circle is giving out $10 of Bitcoin for new users.  Worth a shot:

Wow what a bargain:

Quote
Price: $125,000 per Megawatt per month. You can lease the entire facility for $250,000 per month.

NOT!   Angry

Don't think these prices help the little guys with Ant farms.
3943  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: September 03, 2014, 01:42:38 PM
Why do people think it is going to hit 10,000 for sure?  I don't understand where you are coming from...and if you were so sure that Bitcoin was going to be huge, I am guessing you have over 1million BTC....If I knew it would be that big I would have hopped on board when they first came out..

Because it's deflationary and finite.  With any currency or commodity, the rarer it is, the higher in value it will become.

In this case, Bitcoin has multiple properties going for it: it's a cryptocurrency, a protocol, distributed public ledger, etc..

It still has a ways to go, before everybody sees what the fuss is all about.

Finally see the X-3 hashing in action.  Catch it while it's hot!

3945  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: September 03, 2014, 01:08:39 PM
That's a very impressive mining operation Joust!   Shocked

Just out of curiousity, what is your total estimated hashrate for Megamine?
3946  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 03, 2014, 01:02:09 PM
Hello Guyz,

Cool Smiley Some news about the L1 just popped up Smiley

"Our brand new, high-performance L1 will be hashing at 120MH/s
with the market-best pricing of only $599.00 USD per unit with free shipping worldwide"

https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140830074550960Um75pnzg06E3

Sales open today and delivery is only on December that's 3 to 4 months and so its a pure Pre-Order.
These days buying miners are too risky since the ROI marginal for most.
More over the Alt coins are different than Sha256
In bitcoin the profitability can be predicted but it Alt its not that easy.
Hope this Antminer L1 might workout. Also note the below statement by them.
Quote
Moreover, the miner will be able to mine multifarious scrypt based altcoin, of which scrypt length can be 1024, 2048, 4096 (n = 10, 11 or 12).

December?!! Huh

Ugh, gross.  I thought it'd be closer to this month or October at the latest.

Although, it's a good price now, that could all change once KNC Titans finally drop and spikes the whole Scrypt mining hashrate and difficulty.

Disappointed that Bitmain is going the preorder route.
3947  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer s3, ur thoughts and opinions about it on: September 02, 2014, 09:41:01 PM
And for litecoins ?

Don't buy LTC anymore, it unpaired from BTC awhile ago(early June?).  Last I checked it was like sub $5.  Not worth mining any alts really, for the electrical costs.
3948  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer s3, ur thoughts and opinions about it on: September 02, 2014, 09:16:43 PM
You can get an Antminer S3+, just for shits and giggles, just for fun and educational purposes.

You will never ROI and make back the investment in fiat or BTC that you'll put into buying an S3+, PSU, and electrical costs a month.

But for fun, sure go for it.  Get an Ant S3+, a 550 W PSU or higher 80 Bronze rated minimum, either online wallet(Blockchain.info), or software wallet(Bitcoin Core or Armory), internet connection, and join a mining pool like Eligius, BTCGuild or Multipool.

You won't make your money back no matter what, but if you go in with that expectation already, Bitcoin mining can be fun with the tweaking and educational hobby aspect.
3949  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new,looking to start mining. on: September 02, 2014, 09:03:44 PM
Don't spend $3500 on a miner, you'll never recoup that money back in BTC or fiat barring an amazing price spike in the next few months.

Mine for fun instead.  Mine to learn new tech, to play around with hardware/software, and to say to all your friends "I'm Bitcoin mining!"

Here's what you do.  You buy $3000 worth of BTC and sit on it until the eventual price spike to the moon.  The other $500, buy an Antminer S3+ and power supply and go to town tweaking, overclocking, cooling, and find ways to wire and host it without tripping over it in your house.  After about 3-4 months, sell the S3+ and psu for BTC to recoup some of your fun losses.

That's all you need to do, and you'll be happier and healthier of mind.

And then check back on the BTC price by 2016 or so, it'll be worth it!   Cool
3950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How am I saving by sending via Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2014, 08:55:56 PM
If you're based in Canada, why don't you just buy from one of the Canadian exchanges, withdraw BTCs to Blockchain.info wallet, then send to the other party in the Philippines Blockchain.info wallet for pennies?

http://howtobuybitcoins.info/ca.html

If you buy direct from an exchange, depending on the fees, it should potentially be much lower than that premium you paid to that seller on LocalBitcoins.
3951  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: cheap miners? on: September 02, 2014, 07:53:48 PM
At least pretend like you're going to sell some real miners?!   Tongue

Use GH/s not GHz and include a picture of your overpriced fake miners.
3952  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New miner. on: September 02, 2014, 07:26:46 PM
Sounds like you're in it for the fun of it.  No way will you make profit mining, so just do it for hobby.

Just buy BTC, since the fiat price is low now.  For hobby mining, just get something like this, it only consumes 45 Watts:

http://gawminers.com/collections/all-miners/products/1-3-mh-s-the-fury-by-gaw-miners-asic-scrypt-miner-same-day-shipping

Mine a bunch of alts for the fun of it, try overclocking it, mess around with the exchanges a little.

Whatever you do, don't buy any miners thinking you'll profit or ROI from it.
3953  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 02, 2014, 05:40:41 PM
So is it confirmed that you can't trade like CEX.io, I'm still not clear?

You own the hash you purchase until the power costs exceed the miner earnings.  Then what happens? You just lose the hash, or can you trade it in for more, or cash out your hash?

Didn't see the answer to this part anywhere yet.
3954  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 02, 2014, 05:27:28 PM
And another new product for a very good price.  Grin
https://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/minion-3.html

Wow, that's a bargain!   Roll Eyes

At least, they don't have a MOQ of 10 like they did on the X-1s.

Can't even check their own website for typos and obvious errors.
3955  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 02, 2014, 04:54:03 PM
Wow, Bitmain making moves!   Shocked

First, worldwide miner domination with the S1, S2, and S3, now potentially a Scrypt miner and a cloud mining site in Hashnest?!!

Mining for ROI maybe too difficult to non existent, but out of all the companies and manufacturers, at least Bitmain makes it feel like you have an outside chance.

Definitely exciting news.
3956  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 02, 2014, 04:33:24 PM
Unreal.  Not only will you never profit from an X-3, now it poses a potential fire hazard and health risk running it from home.

Speechless, at this level of incompetence.

Payment, though slightly late, was received for this sig campaign.

Removed negative trust, and will post positive trust since he paid all others.

You are the first Sr. Member who joined this campaign. And also you are the first who posted me a negative trust... Well Done...

However I do appreciate you....

Hey, I bet the -6 in Red you saw next to your name after logging in made you sweat a little.  Wouldn't be good for future business I bet.  I'm also the only guy with enough trust to give you that little +1 next to your name you have now, so be nice!   Tongue

You paid out to all members, so no harm no foul.  I'd join your campaign again in the future depending on the payout structure.  Good luck!
