3941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What hatred do people have for Bitcoin? on: August 06, 2021, 03:21:37 PM
It depends what the "agenda" is....

A financial consultant or Broker with old school Fiat education will most probably "hate" Bitcoin, because he or she make their money from a system that put barrier to entry for the average Joe on the street. (They charge "fees" for handling other people's money and you have to produce certain documents to operate in this field)

Now, what happened now.... a new technology (currency/commodity) are introduced that are not regulated and people are given the "power" to handle their own trading..without a barrier to entry and without the requirement to have "superior" knowledge on the subject. (You simply register on an exchange and you start trading Crypto currencies)

These butt hurt sub-redits are full of Fiat financial advisors and brokers and people who missed the "early" days when Bitcoin was cheap or people who invested in scams (where Crypto currencies was used as a payment) and these people got burnt! (Now suddenly... Crypto currencies are evil or Ponzi schemes)  Grin Grin Grin Grin
3942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing acceptance level - Cryptocurrency on: August 06, 2021, 12:45:05 PM
OP, have not answered any questions about the photo that he posted, so I reckon he used the tuk tuk and paid with Fiat currency.  Huh It will be interesting to know if this is a common thing in India or if this is the exception. (Anyone in India???)

I see in Venezuela .. they use the Lightning Network.. so I hope they are doing the same with these Tuk Tuk operators. (Easy and instant transactions)  ...These guys mostly live from hand to mouth, so they are using Bitcoin in the way it was supposed to be used. (Currency)  Grin

Thank you OP, please give us more information. (India regulations and what wallet do they use)  Huh

Can I ask why the "Wheel of Fortune" feature was implemented via email only and not a built-in feature on one of the drop down menus on Freebitcoi.in? Is it in any way possible to link that feature to your account to enable that for users that get that?

The link in the email just take you to that Url that runs the wheel.... so why not just put that option on the drop down menu for the people that qualify for this?

Freebitco.in is literally giving free prizes for every accounts through WoF so they need to get something back from it. By exclusively sending it only through email, they are encouraging people to enable their email subscriptions so it allow freebitco.in to send promotional emails. This benefits freebitco.in instead of just getting nothing from it by implementing it as a built-in feature in the site

You give your email address when you signup for the site .. so there is no reason for them to get people to signup for the wheel, just to get their email addresses. So they have your email address to use as a marketing tool or to send notifications.

They will not lose anything by adding it to the drop down menu.... it will only be an additional feature that will be added to the site. The users that did not "signup" for this via their email, will have that feature ..blocked.  Wink

#Steve is normally a great guys, so I see no reason why he would withhold your VIP bonus from you. Do you have any other Alt accounts that might have flagged a red flag on their system? Some high rollers might use Alt accounts to misuse the VIP bonus system and that might be why Steve are blocking your bonus payouts?

Can you contact the online Support and then screenshot their response? They have logs of all the things that happens on that site, so they might give you a reason why Steve are not paying your bonus.  Wink
3946  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin atms on: August 05, 2021, 04:34:54 PM
They can be good and bad.... depending on how they are used and where they are placed. I have seen some of these Bitcoin ATM's that are charging VERY high fees ...and this is killing any potential for adoption... because new people get the shock of their lives when they convert BTC/FIAT or visa versa and they see how much are charged for fees.

The fees for ATM's cannot be the same for 3rd world countries and 1st world countries. Also, if you place a ATM in a area where there are almost nobody that accepts Bitcoin as a payment option, then it will fail.  Angry
3947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies price and their effect on gambling industry on: August 05, 2021, 09:56:29 AM
I want to say that it is almost the same as people giving their opinion on "How good specific slots are" ... Roll Eyes  So, when it paid out a lot to that person..the person will say it is a excellent Slot.... but if he got a losing streak on the Slot... he will say it is awful.

The same goes for this .... when you deposited when the price of Crypto was low... people will love Crypto, but when it drops... people will hate it. (The price are recovering slowly now, so most people who deposited when it was low... will be very happy..because their balance will increase)  Tongue
3948  Other / Archival / Re: The impact of Musk & Saylor's Tweets on Prices & Investor Sentiment on: August 05, 2021, 08:46:00 AM
I think these charts are not accurate at all..... The Elon Musk tweet about the "Bitcoin using too much energy" was followed by a Whale Dump to sabotage a fellow Whale.... and it basically triggered a downward spiral to $30k+.... it was not his tweet that caused that.  Roll Eyes

The thing is.... A single tweet or event is not necessarily the primary cause for a Spike or a Drop in the price... other things might have a bigger impact and people only find out about it later.... or they might never know about it.  Wink
3949  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Website with copy & paste rebuttals to common critiques regarding Bitcoin on: August 04, 2021, 01:32:26 PM
Hey, great work.... why has nobody thought of this before?

I also get sick of people saying the same nonsense over and over again, so it is nice to have a one stop website where all the prepared answers are posted... I will surely add this to my favorite websites and just use it when it is needed.  Roll Eyes

I will add an additional myth.... "Bitcoin is Slow" .... then add to the answer that people should be using the Lightning Network.. if they want "fast" transactions. (I see you added the Lightning Network as payment option for donations)  Wink

Once again... job well done.  Grin
3950  Economy / Economics / Re: Libertarians built a Bitcoin economy in a small town, feds shut it down on: August 04, 2021, 11:36:59 AM
Libertarians are building pipe dreams of having their own small sovereign land and their own reserve currency.... but we saw what happened to previous attempts to do this, the governments step in with violence and they stomp it out. Example :

https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-libertarian-nirvana-at-sea-runs-into-a-stubborn-opponent-the-thai-navy-11556466473

Imagine if they get this right.... who will pay the taxes for their salaries? ...Who will pay for the weapons and the people that are used to keep them in power?

It is all about power and money.... and libertarian sovereignty is a threat to that, so I cannot see how they will be able to pull that off.. on land or on sea...  Roll Eyes

-snip-
Nothing suprise ~XD

Relax Gaming & Ygradasil is one of the providers who has a good payout but is also really unpredictable, until now can't really estimate average hit scatter comparing Play N Go & Pragmatic. BTW, how much your bankrol? IMO minimum bankroll for 0.4$ maybe more than 250$ while more than 200-300 spin can't hit anything try to move on other game. That's just one of my rules experience playing slot. Grin

Does the third party provider really matter? I am not an insider in the gambling industry, so I do not know how this work.. but from my research I have done, it seems as though the RTP for these games are negotiated between the casino and the third party Slot provider and that it can be altered at any time? (It is not a fixed RTP) <=== Feel free to correct me, if I am wrong about this.

Also, your Client / Server Seed determine the outcome of each bet and every bet is unique... so you cannot say that there are some "Big Brother" or "Algorithm" that are monitoring your play and then determine when you have to receive a big win.  Roll Eyes

Each Slot is also different .... because the RTP is configured for individual games and not for all games under one Service provider. Most of these games offer around 96% RTP, which is the industry average.

Atlantis also have "medium variance" so the volatility is toned down a little .... making it a more pleasurable experience.  Wink
3952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As of today, Google ads for Bitcoin are no longer banned. on: August 04, 2021, 05:34:27 AM
The reason why they "banned" Crypto currency advertising was because they received so many complaints about ICO scams that happened during the ICO Boom period. That ban and followed by others on large Social media platforms, effectively stopped those scams from destroying the Crypto currency scene.

I have read that "screening" will be done on Crypto based applicants that wants to advertise on Google and they will only allow reputable and well known companies (KYC applicants) to advertise on their platforms.  Wink

These two games are probably going to bankrupt me..... Why oh why..... did you have to add Atlantis Megaways, when I am already addicted to Atlantean GigariseRoll Eyes

It just sucks that the minimum bet on "Atlantis Megaways" is $0.40 and not $0.20 like on "Atlantean Gigarise".... because it is highly addictive and it can turn into a budget killer ...if you degen on it, like I do!!

Oh well.... when the budget is gone, both Stake and I loose ..because they need us to wager for them to profit.. right.  Wink
3954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you protect your Bitcoin from market volatility? on: August 03, 2021, 03:53:29 PM
I once was a fan of using USDT to avoid too much volatility. There was a time when I preferred to trade BTC:USDT more than any other pairs. However, it was really hard to catch the perfect timing. I even ended up having more USDT than BTC in my exchange wallet. Converting BTC to USDT with the hope that you could buy back at a cheaper price could only get you stuck, but playing BTC with altcoins is even worse. The unpredictability of Bitcoin's price made me chose to HODL and avoid confronting volatility on a daily basis.

Yea, I also tried that strategy .... by switching to USDT when all sighs show that there are going to be a big drop (recovery) in the Bitcoin price.. but that can be costly, if you cannot turn your USDT into BTC in time to catch the "Boom" (Sometimes this can happen in a few hours and if you are not quick enough, you miss it)

Exchanges also charge a lot of fees for the BTC:USDT and then again for the USDT:BTC switch ... so the price jump must cover those fees too, to make it profitable.  Sad  The best strategy will always be to HODL and to hope for the best, if your primary goal is profits.  Roll Eyes

The link in the email just take you to that Url that runs the wheel.... so why not just put that option on the drop down menu for the people that qualify for this?

I created a separate web mail account just for services like Freebitco.in and it is not my main email account, so I have to login to that account.. just to run that Url... (I did this to reduce spam on my main email account that I use for friend/family and work)  Tongue
3956  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a speculative asset or as currency on: August 03, 2021, 07:56:04 AM
It's a bit annoying but I still believe that it is a combination of both speculative asset and currency, because I believe that it can do the work of those two, I mean Laszlo has used bitcoin for two pizzas right so I don't think that we can't discount the fact that it can be used like a currency entirely.

Why should this be annoying to you if this is standard practice with all other Fiat currencies? Let's take the US Dollar (Currency) as an example...

When you withdraw US Dollars from a ATM, you use those dollar bills as a currency, because you give those Dollar bills as a payment option for goods and services. (The same thing apply to Bitcoin when you pay with bitcoins for the same products or services)

Now, the same Dollars can be traded for other currencies, which is Foreign Exchange (forex or FX) trading ..... and with Bitcoin, people trade for Alt coins or Fiat currencies on a Crypto currency exchange. (Commodities)  Wink

There is no difference... and no reason to be annoyed. The Governments just define Bitcoin as a asset or a commodity, because they do not want competition for their reserve (local) currency.  Wink
3957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin mining isn’t a waste of energy? on: August 03, 2021, 05:40:21 AM
The thing is.... What is a waste ..in people's perception?

Is energy wasted when a person use that energy to play video games that requires a massive GPU and that person is playing that game for hours every day?

Is energy wasted when 1000's of households sit in front of a huge Plasma or Led Television that are linked to a powerful surround sound system and they watch movies and series for hours and hours?

What if that GPU can be used to generate income by mining Alt coins and selling them or if the same GPU can be used to process transactions for an alternative currency?  (Blockchain) <== This puts food on the table and it runs a payment system...

In your opinion.... given the information above, what would you define as a waste?
3958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Keys stuck on my email... Help on: August 02, 2021, 11:37:05 AM
Why would people want to store their "Private key" on a public server, even if all mail are encrypted? Protonmail is very secure, but I still do not trust any centralized platform with my Private key.

Where did you get your private key from? (Did you create Paper wallets or did you extract it from a web wallet?) If it was a desktop or web wallet, then it might have generated "Seed" words that you can use to recover the wallet and then extract the Private keys?

Good luck....  Wink
3959  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com - Makes things difficult to send BTC, am I the only one? on: August 02, 2021, 09:13:43 AM
I stopped using it ...because it was too buggy with the 2FA and some other things. I remember when we still used the Blockchain.info back in the day and people were saying that the number generator was faulty or too predictable. https://tradeblock.com/blog/javascript-random-number-flaw-leads-to-bitcoin-thefts/

It is safe to shift over to something like Electrum, if you are having issues with Blockchain.com ...just make sure you use the latest version of Electrum.  Wink  (previous versions also had some flaws that left vulnerabilities that can be exploited)  Roll Eyes
3960  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: August 02, 2021, 05:40:13 AM
The question should be... when does the epidemic end.. and if it will end? This virus has mutated several times already and it can mute a lot more. We know the vaccines does not stop people from getting the virus and it is still just as dangerous as it was before the vaccines was introduced.

What happens when this virus "merge" with other dangerous viruses like Ebola or Marburg or even the Hantavirus? This thing can still wipe out the majority of humans on this planet.

There is an obsession with "Money" and the "Economy" ....but we should focus all our attention on saving the human race.  Roll Eyes
