But from a business perspective, you're telling it correctly. If there's no way for them to profit and get some returns out of their expenses and capital for supporting the team and staying in the league then they're not willing to spend that much.
Indeed, the idea of staying just for the sake of playing the game is not justifiable in terms of money involvement, the fact that they will spend a lot of money during their stay without or only expecting a small amount of return that is something that the visiting team needs to take a closer look, though we don't know what might be the deal between them and PBA. An offshore/guest team can handle the finances as they're known to have a stronger currency than us. They've got a budget and it's a lot for them to have its mainstay in the PBA for so long so, I'm sure that they can really do that.

Let's say for argument's sake that they can finance an extended period of stay here in the Philippines to play for PBA, do you think that the expense will justify the profit they can make from playing here? It is good for a single conference because the experience they get from playing here is invaluable. But for longer periods it is not justifiable anymore. They will be bleeding money with very little return. That is not good for business.
