You sabi how e dey be wen dem back pikin (piggy back, if na oyibo language) and e go just dey play for d back wey im dey na.

It seems that the US wants to use the Taliban against China, Russia and Iran
Well, your operative word there is "seems" and that bears a mark of uncertainty. It's an opinion without basic fact to back it up. It's the same way most people have opinion that the ongoing Corona virus (Covid19) is an experiment gone wrong in China, and not a natural epidemic. We can only haphazard a guess but can't be truly sure what the US had in mind for leaving Afghanistan at the time it did. I know and believe a lot of human slaughtering is going on there right now as that's almost the pattern of execution for Islamic terrorists. Talibans are terrorists.
3945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The life span of bitcoin is till infinity on: September 02, 2021, 04:42:11 PM
When i flashbacks far 2013 and 2014, within that range far back i remember how people were castigating bitcoin as a means of extortion of money, and also a means of scamming peoples money, but today everyone is interested to invest in cryptocurrency and more especially in bitcoin,
You know what? I actually put the below post on one of my social media handles today before I accidentally bumped on your thread now.

It's great that Bitcoin is gradually winning the war of attrition against it which was occasioned either by ignorance or outright mischief to destroy it. However, I do not think that Bitcoin will be an infinite thing. May be something will cause it to cave in or get abandoned or replaced by another. Nevertheless, one thing I know that will be infinite is the blockchain technology which is the main engine of the entire cryptocurrency trend. The transparency and ease of the blockchain have made it almost the darling of many industries and as such, I don't think it will be easily discarded. The blockchain will outlive Bitcoin for sure.
3946  Other / Meta / Re: The signature campaign “syndrome” on: September 02, 2021, 02:05:07 PM
I observe a form of prejudice. I'll actually take a closer look to a post made by a high-quality signature campaign participant rather than a newbie.
I believe this prejudice cuts across. I do that too, though I get disappointed on a few occasions where participants of reputable campaigns don't live up to expectations by the standard of posts they make. It's worse for me once a poster is promoting a fraudulent enterprise, I don't bother to read them even if they were once people I read and enjoyed their posts. I don't read comments because those who wrote them have enough merits. No, that will be getting deceived because I know giving merit is subjective and doesn't in most cases reveal in truth the quality of post(s). Besides, having enough merit could even come from merit trading.
3947  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] My DeFi Pet Site Phishing - Beware!! on: September 02, 2021, 08:28:13 AM
I have consistently maintained that people shouldn't try to reap where they don't sow. A lot of people do that and they end up getting scammed most times. One of the easiest tricks by scammers is to lure people with the giveaway stuff or bonus and those who have that mindset of "there is free cash on air" will scamper for it and abandon commonsense which would alert them that something fishy was happening.

However, when an unauthorized site asks you to input a seed phrase means they are going to scam you.
People still won't heed to this advice until they fall victim. It's sad how someone will pull the wool on others and they don't realize it before hand until they get scammed.

And all authorized sites should be a bookmark in your browser to avoid phishing attempts.
Spot on! I don't even manually type in a site address for the first time if I don't go through the original link from its social media handle. Thereafter, I save it on homepage on my phone.

Bitconnect, finally in the news. Those around in 2017 will remember that lending coin that wrecked many, so to say.

3951  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Chart]Yearly, Monthly & Weekly Overview Of The Unofficial Nigeria Local Board on: September 01, 2021, 02:19:41 PM
Nicely done @igehhh! I suggest that you add that post to Request for Nigeria local board as an extra argument. Who knows, it might help.

Thinking of it, one other thing that might be used as an argument for getting local board is maybe a pie chart or something similar to show ranks of currently active members for let's say this year or last 12 months, just to show that it's not some newbies writing there (that have tendencies going afk), but long term high ranking members too. Something like I did here.
Honestly, I admire you for your support to our noble cause in getting a local board. I've followed you a while, your objective suggestions are extremely helpful to us in this struggle.

Well from my observation it has been users already established on the forum that always visit the board we get less of new comers on the board, which to some extent it isn't encouraging
Newcomers' inability to visit the local hangout could be as a result of their lack of knowledge that such a thread exists rather than that they're avoiding it, so I believe. I know the local hangout will get more visibility once a board is approved for it and a lot of Nigerians on the forum will be able to connect with their comrades and compatriots.
3952  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Local Board, All board discussion welcomed. {No Official Language} on: September 01, 2021, 07:16:44 AM

Una see as the matta be there too. Those na local boards of three different countries – 1. France, 2. India and 3. Italy. The green lines show how many sub-boards dem get each. Some many pass the orda. But all of dem get something wey dey keep dem going. I nor even know how happy I go feel anyday wey I wake up come here to find out sey wey don join dat league. What a day it would be! Make I speak small grammar.

Boss una boy dey here make una no forget  ur boy ooh Naija we gather dey oooh
Well, e good as you rush edit the opata wey you yarn here because as I receive d notification from forum bot na im I come burst enta here so, e nor sweet me for belle wetin you first write. But good sey you later reorganize yoursef. First thing first, make you even use format from OP take introduce yoursef as dem teach us to do here. BTW, welcome to d hood.

On the local board stuff, the major thing na make dem give us the same rights wey dem give oda local boards. If dem place us on d same pattern with oda local boards nothing really spoil. Wetin matta most na make dem even give us the board first. Any addition from owa suggestions here to dem go be jara. Na so I see am. Una weldone.
3954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Can XRP Achieve $5? on: August 31, 2021, 03:07:13 PM
For now 5$ is not achievable to happen in the future based in my own assessment only.
Why would you think that $5 isn't achievable for XRP in the near future? For all we know, this is crypto where volatility is the order of the day. It could even do that $5 before the end of this year. Remember that when it did $3+ a few years ago no one expected it. It just rose from cents and spiked up to that level before relapsing to cents again. With the current rally it's having, anything is possible for XRP upward this time again.

In the current cryptocurrency market, XRP is one of the most popular coins. Its popularity is increasing at a rapid rate on a daily basis. Its price is now low, but I believe it will rise in the near future.
For me, XRP is one of the top alts that I haven't come around buying. I don't hodl any unit of XRP and I'm proud not hodling it. XRP has been disappointing in many ways and I know it's because of its huge supply that its price hasn't done well on the charts. Supply plays a great role in determining price and demand and this works against XRP. Though XRP has had great news and media presence for years but those haven't reflected in its price.

It's not unusual. Rather it's desperation that makes people apply to ranks lower than theirs.
3958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins on: August 29, 2021, 10:38:24 PM
I'm baghodling a few of these dead tokens. May be for the fun of it because I know some of them can't get up running again. Chief among these dead tokens I hodl is ONZ. I got the token as reward. The token was created almost the same time ONT was too. While ONT made much impact and went ahead to record an ATH of $10+, ONZ struggled within cents before it fizzled away. It was same with Bitcoinwhite which later got renamed to Bitwhite and then to Algar (as if what held it down had anything to do with its name) before it finally vanished. I still don't know why I'm still keeping these tokens' wallets. Perhaps, expecting a miracle?

I took part in a project called Viuly, some years back. The concept was good but the funding became a problem I think. It was to become a crypto-backed version of youtube. They were unable to get the website started and then the project was asking for donations and then abandoned.
I think that's the idea Fortube leveraged on and it's relatively doing well in the market.
3959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gas Fee Of BNB Is Increasing on: August 29, 2021, 09:13:32 PM
All eyes are on the BNB due to the increase in Ethereum's gas fee. Thinking about the beginning, it can be understood that the BNB's gas free is increasing day by day. Although I don't know the exact reason behind it, the curiosity is there.
It's not far from the basic economics of demand getting higher and that calls for price adjustment of goods and services. That's my understanding of what is happening. This same scenario cuts across all sectors of human endeavour. Seeing that many projects have abandoned the ETH ERC for BSC, it kind of pushes demand over to BSC and less traffic on ETH. That also explains why gas fee for ETH is dropping too. What ETH loses, BSC gains.
3960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jack of all crypto, master of none on: August 29, 2021, 06:02:02 PM
so I had no choice but to read the contents, and I couldn't agree more with COOLCRYPTOVATOR that we lose something to learn something
That's for me is what I call "learning from experience". We either learn from "knowledge" or from "experience". Learning from knowledge doesn't cost us anything except our time to leaf through books by reading what others have passed through while learning from "experience" is our bitter experience of what happens to us. So, it's pay attention or learn from lack of it. I think learning from experience is an indelible way of learning as one never forgets in a hurry the lessons therein. Again, despite how I like trading I don't go close to Futures or Leverage trading. At least, not yet. It's scary a thing to do if one doesn't have a grasp of it.
