3941  Economy / Economics / Re: What's happening in Canada ? on: February 17, 2022, 12:22:27 PM
Canadians are now scared and no longer have a good trust in the banking system, this will lead to a whole lot down that ends pulling out their Fiat and buying Bitcoin.
This will be the first step to full bitcoin adoption in Canada!

It all depending on the bitcoin law in Canada. If the government has not encouraged the hodling of bitcoin it won't give them such choice. But the problem don't need to escalate because it is only about the few sector of the economy that is affected and should be resolved with the government and the truck drivers. Anyway the incident has brought Canada in the news lately.
3942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lowest withdrawal fee for ETH? on: February 17, 2022, 11:30:25 AM
The issue of the high cost of gas from ETH annoyed me, I didn't expect gas costs to continue to increase and I couldn't withdraw a lot of tokens, I've tried almost all platforms but the result is that gas costs are always expensive.

If your altcoins are erc20 then you don't have choice that you won't use Ethereum for your transaction because they are under the Ethereum blockchain. The fees of Ethereum has increased making transaction in the blockchain discouraging for many investors.
3943  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a way to actually get to know the real price of Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2022, 11:10:15 PM
Yes of course there are various sites to see the real value of Bitcoin. You can go to any site and see the price of Bitcoin Coinbase, Coingako binance Exchange for you to see the price of Bitcoin Etc. You can see the price of Bitcoin from the site.
You will never get the right price for Bitcoin because the price of Bitcoin is completely decentralized. Bitcoin prices vary slightly on different exchanges. However, you can visit different exchange sites and find out the exact price.

I'm doubting if exchanges set price of bitcoin. Everything about bitcoin is decentralised and no direct manipulation of bitcoin. What I think is that demand and supply are two major factors that can change price. Exchanges will not be able to manipulate the bitcoin price, if they do it means exchanges should have prices that is far different from each other.
3944  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada to freeze Freedom Convoy Protestors bank accounts... on: February 16, 2022, 04:29:21 PM
So they are breaking the law by blocking the roads.
They are hurting businesses that need to have vehicles pass, and the government should do nothing?

On a better arrangement protesters I think make their intention to protest against certain issue known to the government and it is the responsibility of the government to secure and ensure that the protest is not violent and to secure protesters and the environment. Usually though where you see peaceful protest going south means the protest was hijacked by hoodlums and even highered anti to the protest (by the government) just to blackmail the protesters, converners and purpose of protest. These are politics that government use to run down the face of protest. They can pay people to join the protest and distablize the movement.
3945  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The best countries tax wise for Bitcoin on: February 16, 2022, 03:49:16 PM
~snip

So you're just avoiding taxes, which could land you in trouble unlike in the countries mentioned above where you can do this legally!
It's a yes and a no, in the eyes of the law, we are poor and minimum wage earners, they don't investigate you even if you buy stuff with crypto, they're too corrupt for their own good so us people that fade in the background get away with it. And the taxes for most Filipinos are already paid when we buy our products and we have a high income rate that considers you as tax exempted anyways.

@Obito don't you think that you have not bought certain product that is involving large number or fraction of bitcoin and that is why the government has not noticed it. I think so because you are spending very minimal amount of bitcoin and they may think you have that through faucet  Grin

But the point is you have gone unnoticed because you spending just little , if you spend big amount you can see things can change and you don't evade again.
3946  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada to freeze Freedom Convoy Protestors bank accounts... on: February 16, 2022, 03:12:16 PM
I don't get to understand the reason that government will condescend to freezing protestants accounts because they are carrying out a responsibility that is under the law. Canadian government have caged human right voice by this action, when a protest is peaceful then why don't they hear the people's voice. The people have the power and should be respected.

This freezing of account is becoming a new trend with government in this modern era, this happened in Nigeria during the #EndSars protest where bitcoin accounts with exchanges to banks were blocked and that was the beginning of bitcoin account ban with the bank, this is unfortunate.
3947  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin failed to fulfill the purpose it was created for ? on: February 15, 2022, 09:58:45 PM

2. Stay free from govt control.
What Satoshi aimed was an open source decentralized money that has a transparent ledger.
[/quote]

That is same thing too. Satoshi aim is not defeated open source is transparent yet the real physical identity is not revealed and that is the freedom or free from government control. The mode of transaction is decrete based on individual wallet. It is an asset that it value is not undermined and can increase based on speculation and real market interaction of demand and supply.
3948  Economy / Economics / Re: Just my own thoughts on: February 15, 2022, 05:34:34 PM
.

Then they are going to argue their coins are better because they have the ability to get back  the funds that are stolen by hackers and scammers and this will attract people to those conis, but for people like us that know the truth we will not be interested in their coins, so this changes nothing at all.

No government won't have to argue that their coin or fiat is better because the two are both different and on different functions or purpose. You can't compare both. Bitcoin being an asset can be used as exchange too , you can hodl bitcoin for longer time with hope to get multiple in your hodling investment. Bitcoin is about decentralised system that can't be monitored or stopped, the freedom of which you the user should protect himself, you are having and taking charge of yourself by keeping your security code safe, that is freedom.

Just wondered if there is a way of avoiding paying tax on your bitcoin gains here in the Sunny UK. Grin
^ {Just don't} "," {pay your taxes and live a free* life} > That means, pay your taxes.. and you won't go to jail.

*the question about the how free the life out of the jail really is, is a topic for another conversation.

Hope now it's clear Smiley

Sure clearer to me. You don't pay tax, you may get caught and if luck is out of you , you get charged at the court and you will be asked why evading civil responsibility ? Hahaha  Grin

Is clear that being in jail is a big deprivation of your freedom and fundamental human right of freedom of association and more as penalty. Pay your tax up to date.  Roll Eyes Shocked
3950  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin from the economic perspective on: February 15, 2022, 02:27:50 PM
Decentralization and cryptography is for many still just a fantasy movie. Blockchain is King and bitcoin is simply a store of value.

These are same technology ensuring the success of decentralisation. Cryptography the technology and encryption of codes that embedded in blockchain obviously is the reason that the government not able to understand the identity behind transaction except where KYC is taken maybe in exchange and that is why KYC defies decentralisation  in it common sense.
3951  Economy / Economics / Re: Economics on: February 14, 2022, 07:28:54 PM
They will use their own traditional money "online" believing it might enhance their economy, their respective countries individually. Don't forget the centralization.

Unfortunately the enhancement is not really what this is and the economy development or boost is the primary aim. The anti btc countries are at the front of this agenda because this is far different with the purpose of bitcoin. The traditional money is merely within the locality and don't have any decentralised feature. Btc isn't  centralised so fiat is only taking care of the centralised system, the struggle is not for bitcoin as it already has a place that no country will put down.
3952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc and future value on: February 12, 2022, 11:18:50 PM

It means with 40k btc you have purache power 40k x 40k=? A lot lambos a lot lands a lot mansions.

This is making for laugher really. If that happens to be rich is just by the way but I don't believe that to happen. The most of it is that the value in the coin will not change. No matter the volatility and market volume but the number will keep to staying in that number that you have and not reduce. Example 0.002 of bitcoin will remain as 0.002 and 0.01 will stay that way no matter the time but the price can be changing.

3953  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If Crypto derivatives is banned UK, does that mean it's also illegal for traders on: February 12, 2022, 09:35:13 PM
If Crypto derivatives is banned in UK, does that mean it's also illegal for traders to trade it in other exchanges that are located in other countries?

Well I will think IMO that it could also be a ban for traders as such because what makes it ban will make it ban for traders. It is jurisdiction based , ban is to discourage it. It may have some restrictions though but can still be going on through other means like P2P.  When it is flagged as ban , it because illegal but maybe you will have solution from your email response.
3954  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where comes and how exchanges gets the bitcoins that I buy? on: February 12, 2022, 07:58:00 PM
When you buy bitcoin on an exchange, you actually buy bitcoin from other users, not the exchange itself.
This may not be a true picture of the whole scenario as we know that exchanges also provide liquidity when starting up and use bots to trade and interact with real traders for buy or sell transactions. It's a general expectation for people to get skeptical depositing their funds into new exchanges until they begin to notice increase in trading volume on the exchange.

I think to further this exchanges can operate like banks or they are already doing that. The banks trade in different ways including taking money from client and loaning it to another for profit. Banks take money from many means including fixed deposit and free the money up for another person. So likewise exchanges , I think when they stake coins they are also probably doing some business under that.
3955  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: February 12, 2022, 07:35:46 PM
Bitcoin is very weak in the higher time frames ( daily & weekly). Slowly and steadily, bitcoin may break the 40k important level. Also on minor bitcoin dump, we see massive dump in the altcoins.

I wonder if we are about to move in the bear market ? What is the hope of bull market in the current circumstances ?

The challenges are still the fear gripping the market yet. The recovery has to be slow because investors not jumping in yet and few we are buying still dumping this is why the rate of volatility is yet slow. Last week was waking up for recovery but dropped a little during the end of the week. Higher time or the way low time operate is depending on sentiment.
3956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON - Finals. on: February 12, 2022, 02:51:03 PM

The game wasn't fair and not in our favour when super eagles played 10 players against 11 player and ended the game with 0-1 isn't really bad.
Alex was one of the top player that Nigeria depended on as a midfielder but unintentionally got a red card in the first 6 minutes of the game and the whole player became off balanced.

Being a man down shouldn't be a good reason that players will get discouraged. On that game yes that the officiating didn't favour Nigeria but the players didn't come to the party themselves coupled with the choices of the coach. He brought in sodiq late in the match and we saw his impact. Some other strong attackers like Odion Ighalo was there but wasn't introduced. Team playing a man down is a time to fight harder, example Comoros played a man down against Cameroon but fought more until they got defeated eventually.
3957  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rapper wins 1,3M$ on: February 12, 2022, 02:05:15 PM
Whether the story is true or not, I have seen people betting hugely on bets, and they don't seem to stop. He's not the first person to bet with such an amount and he won't be the last. What's making it a big deal is it because it's a celebrity that took such a risk.
I wouldn't mind betting with such an amount if the situation of sure betting arise.

Perhaps as a celebrity he has the public at his call. I think this will get his name in the the media for sometime. This is a hype for him but despite that he made a huge bet really. Of course he has the money and it won't matter to him if the money didn't yield any result. I have watched drake do many give away to his fans a lot of times.
3958  Economy / Economics / Re: agriculture and bitcoin on: February 11, 2022, 11:39:27 PM
I think the Op is asking question based on if there are crypto tokens specific for agriculture but I know that is not relating to bitcoin. If Op is talking about bitcoin itself, no. Bitcoin can not help your country or agriculture except you invest in it and wait for profit where you can cash out and take your money to invest in agriculture like buying land for cultivation, seeds and what else relating to agriculture. In the past some projects related to agriculture through ICO but  ICO didn't survive.
3959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 11, 2022, 05:06:47 PM
The reason people bet in multiple is to increase the winning potential and nothing more. That is the reason and they understand the risk that the chances of all the games being successful is narrow but that does not stop them to complain, regret and cry (especially when it is big potential) when they lose it  Grin
The aspect of single bet is people don't go often with it because the odd is small and they will need increase in stake for the potential to be substantial but the risk is still there no one is guaranteed.
3960  Economy / Economics / Re: Your opinion on side jobs on: February 11, 2022, 01:09:23 PM
General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?

A side job IMO is not really meaning that it is a lesser paying job from one originally known with. The main job is usually the one everyone knows you are doing but the side job is known by few, maybe close colleagues. It is more of diversification to me but whether called side or not doesn't matter and these days it has been the one more sustaining because it gives you time and you still earn from it. The main job is the one taking most of your time and might pay you little .

So I think what is called as side job is not really a side job but another job in diversification. When we diversify, we say is side job but sometimes proceeds from it is not small, it can be higher or measure up to main job. There are many main job considered as side jobs for others and some side jobs known for others as main jobs.
