Look, it's the fault of the city council for not making sure that police policy is properly expounded. Police have, in the past, simply done what is reasonably right. Since there is FBI training involved these days, police are trained to do what is wrong. Now, it is up to the city council to familiarize themselves with what is going on, including police policy, and what police policy really should be, and then fire the whole police department if necessary, and restart a new one with the correct policies in place.

The people need to do something about the city council in ways that are peaceful and legal.

Consciousness doesn't create anything. God, Who is NOT humankind, created. Consciousness simply makes what God created available for use.

39463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing bitcoins illegal? on: October 12, 2014, 03:41:21 PM
Stealing anything is illegal, even bitcoins, if: 1) there is a law; 2) if someone makes a valid claim against someone who stole the bitcoins.

Stealing anything is wrong. Maybe it is not illegal. But it is wrong. The things that make it illegal are as listed in the first paragraph above, and repeated here:
1. If there is a law against it;
2. If someone makes a valid claim that someone else has stolen his bitcoins, thereby depriving him of his property unlawfully.

39465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen Proposes Bitcoin Hard Fork to Address Network Scalability on: October 11, 2014, 09:04:48 PM
I remain sceptical on any block size increase, because it promotes centralization of nodes. If Gavin's plan is implemented there will be progressively less full nodes being able or willing to participate in the network because bandwidth and storage requirements are too demanding. A non-conditional yearly 50% increase is a very bold figure. It's not even clear if technology will be able keep up with this rate longer term.

If block size increases really can't be circumvented through other measures, they should not be done in a static irreversible step-by-step increase (comparable to coin issuance) but instead in a dynamic way that allows for increases and decreases based on previous usage (comparable to difficulty adjustment). Doing it that way would allow systemic self-regulation, always providing as much bandwidth as necessary but not (much) more than needed. So some healthy competition between transactions (size, fees) remains in place and resources (bandwidth, storage) are much more likely of being used responsibly and not being wasted.

Yes. And maybe an exponential moving average of previous usage.

How would something like this affect the 50% miner centralization control of Bitcoin?

39466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin changing my ideology from socialism to libertarianism! What about you? on: October 11, 2014, 08:50:54 PM

Poverty affects children more than any other age group here in America. We have tremendous wealth here yet we let innocent children go hungry, particularly in the south, where fundamentalist thinking and religion are strongest. What does that say about capitalism?

And 50 million people died of starvation under Mao's communism.
What does that say about the alternatives to capitalism?

Will you please just give it a rest dude?

Call me when you've figured out "the next paradigm"
that will end world hunger and save the world.

Aw, let him talk. He hasn't even mentioned the 50 to 55 million American children who have died through abortion, as a result of the moral poverty and/or the physical poverty of their parents and others associated with each specific situation.

If you are not a particle, you might as well be, with regard to Almighty God. Almighty means something way beyond anything that we can understand, there is so much power involved. The only reason we have any strength at all is, the Almighty has had pity on us and gives us strength.

Your choice but, don't downplay God. You WANT His love. Just think what the Almighty will do for you at the right time... if you only acknowledge Him, and at least sincerely attempt to obey His commands. Don't throw it away. Of course, your choice.

You are a particle

...that owes people money...

If you are in the States, or most of the countries that have/use the modern banking system, it is impossible to pay a debt with money. Why? There isn't any lawful money in the system or available. Pay with an IOU, and charge it to the banking system via the IRS. If your payment isn't accepted, standard UCC law says that the debt is discharged. After all, only ignoramuses loan something to people without getting something else as collateral, or expecting to get the loaned thing back.

39469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin changing my ideology from socialism to libertarianism! What about you? on: October 11, 2014, 02:01:17 AM
Probably the simplest way of stating libertarianism is something like this. In pure libertarianism, everyone is free to think anything and do anything they want as long as:
1. they do not harm anyone else;
2. they do not damage the property of anyone else;
3. they DO fulfill all contractual obligations.

The U.S. government is set up this way at its core. The reason you don't see it exercised is that people don't know that the government is set up this way. If they know, they don't understand how to exercise their rights. The reason they don't know and understand is, government has eliminated this kind of training from the schools.

The training is coming back.

What if you don't pay your income taxes. If you have a contract with government to pay income taxes, then you should pay them. If the IRS comes after you, if they take you to court, require that the harmed or damaged person comes and takes the stand and shows the harm or damage, proves that the harm or damage was caused by you, and verifies/validates under oath the amount of payment you owe. If there is no damage, where is the contract, with YOU actually named in the contract, where they state ALL the points and particulars of how much you owe. You can do this.

The IRS is not a person who can be harmed or damaged. But if you file a 1040 return, you have told them that you owe. Otherwise, you probably don't.

If they persist in bothering you, file a court claim against them for whatever reasonable amount they are damaging you when they bother you.

If you want to understand the way things are set up, look for Bill Thornton on Youtube. Search his name along with the words "common law." There's a lot of listening time in some of his videos, but it is well worth it. After all, any kind of worthwhile training doesn't happen overnight.

At the same time, Youtube search on "Karl Lentz common law." Karl Lentz is a tough guy from New York who has turned this whole common law thing into a science. It'll take some time to learn, and you don't want to provoke government until you are ready, but you don't have to simply sit around and take it either.

We need to reactivate our knowledge and understanding and usage of common law before the whole world gets turned into civil (social) law.

If you act with Bitcoin, and government tries to stop you, or the banks cut you off, you have been damaged. They owe you!

Hey, government people all over the free world WANT Bitcoin. Bitcoin will give them a whole lot more freedom to operate covertly than fiat does, They simply don't know how to take down the banks and bankers without disrupting their respective governments, any more than the rest of the people do. It's expected they would cheer.

39472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Fans Don’t Believe in Bad News on: October 10, 2014, 09:30:55 PM
Some of the things Bitcoin fans know:

The price of the dollar is artificially propped up.

The prices of Bitcoin, gold and silver are artificially kept low.

Something that many Bitcoin fans know:

The American people (and people of other countries, as well) are somewhat afraid of their government. The main two things that keep them in fear are: 1) they don't know how to integrate Bitcoin into serious buying and selling in the face of IRS constraints in taxation; 2) they don't know how to fight the government courts and win when the IRS comes after them.

The way that the American people will overcome their fear, crash the $dollar, and start using Bitcoin in a big way:

When Americans wake up to this stuff, fiat will crash, Bitcoin will become king, the people will have their freedom back.

What I got out of it recently was that He died so that no one else would have to necessarily die like He did for Man to change the lives around us  in as meaningful a way as He was written to do, i.e. because He died(/lived)for us, we too now know how to be/live/die like Jesus. I haven't read the Book of John yet but I was told that Jesus's true mission is explained therein.

The final answers are in the Revelation. But watch out! It is literal and figurative mixed. You have to watch for the hints when it is changing from one to the other.

The simple jist of the Revelation is, this universe is going to be destroyed in a lake of fire. All evil will be destroyed therein, as well. While it doesn't say it at all clearly, the lake of fire is God "melting" down everything in this universe so that He can get His "energy" back out of it.

There will be a new Heavens and a new Earth. No evil will be allowed to enter. The saved will be there with God forever, in joy and glory.

All the rest of the Bible has to do with the method to get to the new Heavens and the new Earth. There are examples of how people and circumstances will try to hinder you. There are examples of how you can bring other people to be saved so that you stand a chance of receiving "extra" glory in the new Place. God's Spirit actually comes into your heart more firmly as you study the Bible.

Odds are there will only be randomish profit taking until fiat really collapses. And that will happen in a day or less. So we won't see the big Btc hike coming until it is on top of us.
