3961  Economy / Economics / Re: Merging of bitcoin and banks on: July 22, 2016, 06:28:55 AM
Banks are leveraging ripple to move their money on a "blockchain". Now, it's cool and are they pouring money into this ecosystem.

https://ripple.com/insights/santander-becomes-first-uk-bank-use-ripple-cross-border-payments/

What does this mean? To me nothing, it's simply that old banks are trying to adapt in the best way they can to this change.

But they will never have a strong "blockchain" like the one of bitcoin.

Time will tell.
3962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 06:23:47 AM
It has been a week BTC is trading in a 20$ spread range ($660/680) with several stops on the triple six number.

Also Bitcoin Block Average size looks ok

If I wear a Marlboro Classic shirt that does not mean I endorse smoking.

You are so little minded.

Enough.

If marlboro pays you to advertise for them, and you do, THEN YES.

Are you really trying to say that you've only had one account on betcoin.ag?  And that your ip wasn't blocked due to multiple accounts?  I don't have the time to dig up all the evidence....Just suffice it to say, you seriously lack credibility.

Creating multiple accounts when your accounts have been banned in some way in order to use the chat feature is not "multi accounting".  Multi accounting refers to making multiple accounts in order to play in the same tournament or cash game in order to take advantage of the other players.  If Twitchy has been doing this, that IS a problem and if you could show evidence of that it would go a long way to damage his credibility.

True.  Multi-accounting has ruined lucrative careers....Look up the stoxtrader (Nick Grudzian)/Leatherass (Dusty Schmitt) incident.  It's very serious.  Dusty wasn't even directly involved, yet his career took a huge hit.  Having multiple accounts on a single poker site is against a poker sites terms and conditions, regardless if the bad actor admits to collusion, short stacking, rat-holing, softplay, or multiple entry because it is hard to prove intent.  It was sufficient enough to ruin Dusty's career that multiple accounts were established, even though he wasn't proven to be the culprit; Nick was the Culprit.

It is the responsibility of the site operator to ban multiple accounts to protect the integrity of the game.

This will lead you to the consensus in the poker community on the practice of multi-accounting:   http://www.internettexasholdem.com/poker-forum/general-board/nick-quotstoxtraderquot-grudzian-resigns-over-cheating-61589.html  There's also a link to the 2plus2 thread that detailed the incident.
So yeah, multi-accounting is serious.  You've accused me of it, I've denied it, and then you said you didn't have time to provide any evidence.

In the mean time you've acted as if the piles of evidence I've presented proving Betcoin has been lying simply does not exist.

I provide evidence.

You provide excuses.

You always go around the corner. This is not ping-pong therefore I do not wish to reply you because you are clearly not listening.
You and I have nothing to do together. I go my way you go yours.
That's it
3965  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: July 21, 2016, 06:25:03 AM
Soon? Like you mean soon for 10 years? People have different feeling for timing, for some people 10, 20 years is nothing, for others its eternity. I don`t think we will see this price any time soon, that jump would be just too much in my opinion. That even sound almost impossible, many people can become very rich after this and I don`t know how healthy would be for btc to rise so much in some short period of time. That would be some very big pump, and after big pumps there come big dumps, as we all know.

Soon like this Autumn the earliest and Spring 2017 the latest.

Many people will become incredibly rich but even more people will become incredibly poor.

I'm glad there are a few of us here on the same page. The next 10 years will seem like eons when it comes to financial trials and tribulation.

I have been following the Shemitah preditions after reading about it for the first time on The Dollar Vigilante not long ago. This correlates with what I've been saying about the economy since long before the 2008-2009 financial crisis. There were quite a few people who predicted it, and those same folks are now predicting far worse. It is almost comical that so many of the same people are scoffing at these predictions after the facts have become so clear and so valid. We are truly living in a world full of morons. If you think about it, this debt crisis has been created mostly by individuals with Ivy League educations.
That tells me that either it is on purpose (some power grab, false flag, new world order, etc.), or we humans are truly so stupid we can't learn from our own mistakes. The latter is obviously true, and history repeats itself. As the Shemitah predicts that this happens in 7 year cycles. The more you study this, the more obvious it becomes.

Look at Venezuela, the Weimar Republic, 1998 Russia, or Zimbabwe and you can clearly see it doesn't take anywhere near 10 years for things to seem peachy and suddenly turn to crap.

The giant black hole of debt around the world dwarfs anything we have seen in the history of the world, yet the lemmings can't see anything wrong.
Clearly the EU is on the verge of falling apart. It is because these countries are beginning to understand you can't continually bailout the financially incompetent. All the predictions made after the 1st crisis are coming true.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQzEWeGJLP0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1LCBp0twLE

I give you one more insight about an imminent EU mega crisis if this will not be solved (solutions to these problem are always provisional)

3966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is blockchain? How blockchain work? on: July 21, 2016, 06:21:52 AM
Not a single reference is present into the Bitcoin White paper: it talks about blocks but not about a blockchain.
...

The whitepaper talks about blocks and talks about chains, and never puts the words together.
But Satoshi does talk about the "proof-of-work chain" in the paper, which is the blockchain.

This is my definition of a blockchain:

"A blockchain is a system to ensure validation of data throughout a public untrusted distributed ledger,
which is incentivized and secured through the process of mining."

Yes, true. I was simply referring to the exact term "blockchain". It says what you noticed indeed but the word that today is becoming a huge hype was never mentioned that way inside the paper.

Are you really trying to say that you've only had one account on betcoin.ag?  And that your ip wasn't blocked due to multiple accounts?  I don't have the time to dig up all the evidence....

I've created tons of accounts to use in their chat and forum,
never to cheat other players.

Just suffice it to say, you seriously lack credibility.
I don't need credibility, I have EVIDENCE.

This says a lot. How can someone wearing multiple faces can be trusted?

Whatever Betcoin has done, I think you are no better.

This is really becoming too much. I'll probably leave the campaign because to me the forum is a place to share knowledge and insights.

I'm not here to discuss this.

No worries, I will inform them why they can wear this signature. It will be better if you will do your crusade in other place. Please.
Let me then inform you that, starting end of the month, after all of you guys are being paid by betcoin.ag, I strongly consider leaving negative feedback to everyone who continues to advertise betcoin.ag
I have nothing against any of you participants, that's the reason why I will wait with this till after your payround, but advertising betcoin.ag in their current state should not be anything acceptable on this forum.

You are affected by serious delusions of grandeur my friend.
Your trust will not say anything regarding my reputation.

Defending Betcoin would have much better results imo.  You can't though, because there is no excuse for their behavior.  So instead you attack anyone who tries to hold them accountable.

Betcoin has been caught lying numerous times, have you even looked at the accusations?  Or do you simply choose to be ignorant so you can justify accepting money from them in exchange for putting "Betcoin.ag the most trusted Bitcoin and Litecoin Casino" in your signature?

If you insist on being paid by betcoin to put "Betcoin.ag - the most trusted" in your signature, you should not be trusted.  since every post you make will include a blatant lie.

My point was towards that guy that I simply do not trust (i'm referring to Lutpin).

I am considering to think about my signature. I have not had time to read the whole story. It seems the problem was not of betcoin but the software house did a mess.

If my decision will be to remove my sig I will donate what I am getting to some charity.

My friend, money is just an instrument. It's what you do with it that matters

3970  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: July 20, 2016, 06:48:27 PM
We know that the price is not going to be $5000 soon but it would be nice if it happened soon because I would sell some Bitcoin right away.
I think that we need at least 3 more years before the price can really climb up to that.

Bitcoin has the potential to reach $5000, but this won't happen in a short time as users predicted. Even to reach the price around $700 it had took almost 8years. So to reach $5000 it might take more time.

What charts are you looking at?  Huh

Clear signature spamming posting which is happening everywhere.

Back in the day paper money was backed by gold. Coins were made of copper, silver, and gold. This was true in the USA, Canada, Europe, and much of the world. Now coins are made of aluminum and other cheap metals. They have no more intrinsic value than counterfeit money. You can see the value of fiat currency shrinking around the world as food and essentials get more and more expensive compared to average incomes.
Many on this thread keep saying it will take a certain amount of time for Bitcoin to hit $5k. It has nothing to do with time, and everything to do with economics. Things can change very rapidly, and I would argue that the world is far worse off today than it was in 2008. They can only lower interest rates into the negatives, and printing money this time would cause far more problems than it would solve. It isn't hard to see Bitcoin performing far better in an economic crisis than it did in 2013. Bitcoin didn't exist in 2008.

Again I am with you 100%. I was discussing this with some friends less than a week ago: no one believes me. The say I am too pessimistic, that everything is under control.
I think it's only a matter of time before the big crash will start
3971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is blockchain? How blockchain work? on: July 20, 2016, 06:40:22 PM
Not a single reference is present into the Bitcoin White paper: it talks about blocks but not about a blockchain.

A blockchain is as simple as it seems a BLOCK CHAIN.

Every new block is attached to the preceding block thus creating a blockchain.

Is that difficult? I can't make it easier  Grin

3973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 20, 2016, 06:58:56 AM
Well I have decided to back my team Manchester City to win the Premier League @ $3.50 and I put 1.5k on them. I also like Arsenal @ $7.00 but I put them to finish in the top for @ $1.50 and put $500 on it. These odds are from my countries sports book which I'm happy with. So for a 2k outlay I'll get back 6k if they come in for me.

Manchester United will be the toughest competition under Mourinho, even Man utd big spending for the next season. as recent rumors they almost agree with Paul Pogba
Mourinho have bad performance last season because he has been failed at Chelsea however he still a great manager because several times bring champion league trophy and local league trophy on almost every team he coached and i think even without Mourinho Man Utd will be strong candidate almost on every season because their history when Alex Ferguson was still there

I think Man Utd have lost there winning mentally after Alex Ferguson retired. They haven't achieved much in the years since he retired, a FA Cup and I think they won the Charity Shield which isn't anything special and no Champions League football for last season and now this up and coming season. I think they will be a strong contender but they need to get that winning mentally back.

The English Premier League hierarchy has changed a lot since Ferguson left the circus. EPL is one of the most interesting european competition.
Think of Leicester and you will understand what I mean.

I would prefer if it wasn't created and controlled by the bank of england, plus it's too restrictive in it's use.  A step forward nonetheless.

Let them play with fire: the moment it goes live it will be hacked fairly soon. It will probably miss all the real world security implementation of a BITCOIN like blockchain.

Let them release it. Then we will laugh

All in all its pathetic, a clear reflection of real state of the American Republic... I have too high expectation for the USA... I should really lower them. The golden age is over... And no rebound in sight. I vote for herting as potus and Flynn as veepee... The rests are total jokes...

The golden age is over since a long time. Maybe the Nineties were the last golden years of the US. There so many movies that represent that.
This is what happens when building an economy based on, well, numbers! Numbers not backed by any real thing.

Stock, CDS, derivatives and so on are crap but they are still the very basis of our rotten economy.

If that's the case, long live to BTC

Yes, it's a big freaking joke
3978  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: July 19, 2016, 06:01:32 PM
If we have good increase of the usage of the bitcoin, it will take 3 to 6 years for the bitcoin price to reach $5000.

The world's fiat economy isn't going to last anywhere near 3 to 6 more years.

Venezuela type inflation will be coming to the rest of the world before long. The following article was back in May. Things have gotten much worse.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/28/world/americas/venezuela-crisis-what-next.html?_r=0

Compare the following debt numbers from 2012 to what they have swelled to today. This can't last much longer.

http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/world_debt/world_debt.html

Very interesting and, for your information I suggest you read the following.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-18/failed-coup-sparks-yen-driven-buying-spree-us-stocks

I feel the same as you: there should be a breking point where the equilibrium will be lost. This situation can't lost for long.
I'm afraid when we will reach that point it will be hard for everybody. History says that in those times war come into place.
scary Roll Eyes

In my opinion it is already getting hard for everybody. At least the lower and middle class are having a tough time.

They claim in the USA unemployment is supposedly around 5%, yet you have 96 million people who are not working. That is 1/3 of the able bodied work force. If you can't collect unemployment you are no longer counted. If you lost your manufacturing job and work at a fast food joint, you are no longer counted. Look at any strip mall in rural America and you will see many empty store fronts. In some I have noticed up to 3 payday loan stores in one strip mall! The people who the liberals claim to help got screwed the worst. And there is no end in sight. In my opinion this is one reason we are seeing an escalation in violent crimes. You might notice that 7 to 10 year car loans have been the latest craze. Auto sales skyrocketed in the same way homes did back around 2004 to 2007, and these auto loans are now starting to default. Just Google it.

In reply to the article on the stock buying spree, I was talking about this with a friend this morning. People are trying to move money to safety. The US market is one of the last safe havens, but we must remember that it has been artificially pumped up due to lack of interest you can earn in cash. Those who saved all their lives and expected to earn 6% to 10% on their savings can now earn nothing. In fact banks are talking about negative interest rates. When you have companies like Amazon selling for nearly 400 times earnings, it is a sure sign that something is wrong and a collapse is coming. As you said, equilibrium has already been lost. When it all falls apart, Bitcoin could easily blow through $5k. We could even see multiples of that number. One thing is sure, all of it's detractors have underestimated it's long term performance.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-10/age-cryptocurrency

I could not agree more with what you said before.
I do not live in the United States anymore but I remember when I was there in 2014 I saw something like that in some areas of New Jersey.
What I underlined is something I also firmly believe. Time will tell

Chatter has started on Poloniex!  Remember this is the official information forum...  NOT POLONIEX CHAT ROOM.  Do your own DD and make your own informed decision!

Let them chat on Poloniex.

This coin is getting momentum and I advise once more to avoid any "emotional move" from now on.  Wink

Release only what is rock solid. Let the chattering continue but to not foster it.

Anyway, happy to see price movement on polo.

p.s. I noticed an increased staking activity in my wallet, which I think is completely normal.

Everyone has known since the dawn of time that you can't make money out of something that's too easily copied. Fuck them and their law.

Hell yeah!

Bitcoin works regardless of their laws or approval, to quote Antonopoulos Bitcoin never asked for approval and it never will.

It simply works. Probably, for them, this is very hard to accept.
