3961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 10, 2015, 09:30:50 PM
So I finally got my long awaited bonus miner a week or two before easter only to find out that it was a PoS. The fans were not strong enough to do very much of anything, but I had the miners in a warehouse at 12 degrees celsius (don't know what that is in fahrenheit or zargons) so they should have been fine. But no, 4 out of 5 cubes overheated and turned off sections. So I was planning to get some new fans, some cooling pads for the power regulators and put some new cooling paste on the chips, but until then I would just run them heavily underclocked.

However during the easter holidays the whole miner just dropped off the grid. When I came to the site all the PSUs were running, so no major power failure like I saw on the Jupiter I have. Eventually I disconnected all the miners from the controller board and the board started flashing its lights at startup. I was hopeful. But the router never found the controller/Neptune. I suspect it might be the beagle (I have never seen such a scruffy beagle in my life, it looks like it had a lobotomy), but I don't know.

Does anyone have any ideas? If it can be fixed, what fans should I get?

You sure there is no plastic cover between the ASIC chip and the heatsink?

nope its not a consumer product.
yoi su[pposed to be tech shavvy.

I haven't opened the miner. There were no instructions with it. Is this an issue?

What the F kind of answer is that (in bold)? And you're moaning about me not being tech savvy when you can't even quote properly in a forum?

Had a dream last night that the price was $252, I was sort of disappointed because I sold a few coins on bitquick and was ready to buy back in on another dip.

That is a surprisingly modest dream coming from you.

got in with 370 btc last week at 230, this week we should be going over 250s Tongue , btc isnt pumping , its undervalued and smart money is buying it up Cool
Its not undervalued. Its rightly valued atm.  Don't expect the price to move upward in the coming 2-3 months, just hope that the dumpers wont dominate the market again.

sorry bro, but i fully expect the price to move upward in the coming 2-3months, we are at a very crucial period, http://www.coindesk.com/swedens-nasdaq-exchange-approves-bitcoin-based-etn/   is one of many reasons. With regulation so near they are stocking up. Once regulated the biggest changes will be in exchanges and coin storage as both will now be fully insured against theft etc. Exchanges will have to comply with the new rules which will mean full id of all users, in return for giving the id you will feel safe knowing your coins are insured. Banks will offer services based on btc and will make it easier and safer for the avergae joe to buy/hold and trade as long as tax is paid.

http://www.coindesk.com/nasdaq-bitcoin-marketplace-noble/   heres another

Most of the coins flowing into XBT Providers ETN will be from KnC Miners stash. This is just a way for KnC to get a pretty penny for their mined coins. I wouldn't expect this to move the market.

Even so... if XBT Provider gets 10mil€ (still small number) in first month this could turn around the whole market. I doubt KNC will simply sell all their coins sub 300$. KNC will probably help them buying on OTC markets.

Everyone from EU will be able to buy XBT shares... So there could be some huge money flow into it.

Idk. As I understand there is not much securing these ETNs other than the trust you might have in the company holding the assets, and that's a KnC company. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. But I hope you are right.

xbt is just one of many new ventures we will be seeing, also winkles and others working hard to make btc mainstream. we went to $1000 with just silk rd, gox and a few other small fish. Now we have microsoft, dell, virgin, goldman s, nasdaq and much much more, we are defo going up all these guys are waiting for is regulation as its them that have pressed for it most.

Also miners....btc reward halfs in around 12-15 months.

Now you're talking! I agree wholeheartedly!

At some point in the not so distant future these weekend shenanigans are going to be less important. The big money is going to flow almost exclusively during weekdays. I can't wait.

That is mean!

I lol'd though.

People are idiots. That's the only thing holding us back. We went to $1000+ two years ago, when Bitcoin was wobbling on a knifes edge and the leading star was a retarded frenchman who moved to Tokyo just to make the abbreviation of his stupid exchange make sense. Now, there is a whole industry backing it up. Every bank, insurance company, and financial institution are looking at ways to implement Bitcoin or blockchain technology and somehow a market cap of roughly a couple of billions is thought to be reasonable. If this doesn't go sky high rather immediately I will lose all faith in humanity. Maybe we should send some coins to Elon Musk. WS likes to pump his shit into orbit.

Shaking out weak hands ....

Been a while since I saw this old chessnut, reminds me how much I miss Shroomskit who'd probably say something along the lines of: "yeah right, we've been shaking out the weak hands for 14 months now".

But with a lot more venom.

Oh, is Shroomy really gone for good? I just realized that I kind of miss him. He was a rare example of the bull-turning-bear-turning-bull-turning-bear-turning-2-btc-into-1-btc-turning-bear-turning-bull breed.

Did he get banned or decide to stop posting? He was here for ages so there must be some reason he stopped posting. This thread seems much quieter than it used to without him.

Well, that was the bottom. I picked up a shitload of super cheap coins. Thanks to you idiots selling at the very bottom.
Thanks for playing.

This account has been abused enough. I'm gonna change the pass so the others can't access it anymore and log out.

I might be back on my real username. Who knows. Bye.

This really rustles my jimmies. Someone tell me why we need BTC-E again?  Undecided

Everyone needs a sketchy Russian exchange for one reason or the other.

Bitcoin needs russians. Lots of them.
3970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2015, 09:34:04 AM
I wouldn't be overly shocked to see it correct back into the $230's before the $250's again.

Hell of a good past few days!

OKcoin futures trading a few dollars over market  :o

There was our $230's dip.

I think we break through $250 next push.

?????

Ok, 239.6 on BTC-E.

Cutting it close. The best way to cut it.

And 89% again. If it progresses like this we might get an announcement on the Frontier release within the next two months.

Today 91% Wink

Now 94%!! Wink

Aaaaand 95%

Among the remaining stuff is "Documentation", which should be a breeze when everything else is inn place.

By contributing you mean that he toots his own horn 15 times day. As a troll it's no problem to contribute in the same manner, often I do - even in a so exaggerated way that people (with an iq above 50) can recognize some irony.

Yeah, you're real big on irony

.... am I the only one whose mind is boggled by their ability to ignore what they said two days ago and still claim that what they are doing makes sense? It's like a populist party. Of course they were right all along. They have called every possible movement there is.

Waves on a chart tend to play themselves out in patterns (impulse, corrective) and adhere to fibonacci levels as EW dictates, but they are driven more by volume, trader psychology and supply/demand than by a predetermined set of rules. EW tries to quantify this behavior but I find it best to keep an eye on their possibilities while analyzing volume and trends and where they're likely to begin and end.

It's just one of many tools to use. Plenty of methods will help reduce risk and point one in a direction of high probability trades. At the end of the day though, good trading comes down to money management than anything else.

But yeah, on a basic level it's mind-boggling to sift through the plethora of EW charts. One of them has to be close, therefore EW works. This reasoning can suck in newbs IMO and give them a false sense of security.

Our pro-trader,basscleff. Mumbles about trading all days, and is nearly always wrong. Why don't you join the Trading game, where you can show your godlike skills to all the EW-noobs!?  Roll Eyes

I guess. It's just that every time I see this flock of seagulls turn on a dime I start thinking of Thomas Kuhns "paradigm shifts" and the structure of science. These guys seems to be stuck in a paradigm that's in a heap of trouble. However it's not exactly natural science, so Kuhn doesn't apply.
3979  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2015, 08:00:51 PM
can't he just replace with a cheaper offer?

Yeah that'd be the obvious thing to do. TBH the Finex interface when managing loans is confusing so that gives you an idea of who is shorting: noobs.

So, assuming we just had a double bottom of around ~$215ish; could we hit that resistance level again for a triple bottom? Is that realistic at all?  I just can't see us breaking out above $260 until the bit-license stuff comes out. Even if we start getting momentum; I think marketmakers could just use the new licensing standards to either push price down or push it up depending their own personal timeline concerning market manipulation. Have I just had my hopes of a new trend crushed to many time? I'm thinking $350 ~ July? W/ lots of stuff having been onramped by then (gemini,winki,etc,etc...)? But for now I just see sideways until June at least and just staying between 200-300 channel trend. Thoughts?

EW guys are calling a top at $260 then a retest of range lows. Watch us blow past it just to prove them wrong. We might get a pullback there (profit taking, new shorts) but if we stabilize and go above they'll revise their counts.

If you have a short open you should have closed $10 ago. Hoping the market comes back to you is not a strategy, it is gambling.

I feel bad that the bears just disappear when bitcoin moves up 20 dollars.

I haven't seen tarmi or NHJT since they promised us double digit coins!

But you dont refer to me, not? My hearth always goes out to you, but at the moment Im temporaly banned for posting fucking animals here - mods told me it were spam and off-topic. You believe it?! Spam and off-topic in the Wall Observer!!

For now, the Dump3er is long, but will dump (WITH STYLE) very soon when this small correction has finished and we return our travel to the double digits!

Cheers!
