3961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Something Like This Happen To You on: June 12, 2022, 06:37:34 PM
It was a moment I will never forget. I have continued to play even though I have won in a row in the end I still lost everything. Just like I stopped playing after winning streak and continue it another time. Stupidly I still lost everything. Actually, I realized that it would be difficult to beat the house but I kept doing it over and over again.

Even if the casino did not have an advantage and it would be on your side, then you would lose everything if you bet on all the money you have. Based on your story, that's pretty much what happened. The idea of increasing the bet with the money won and winning more each time is bad because sooner or later you will lose and lose all the money. Bank roll management is needed to avoid this.
I believe if advantage were at the gambler's side he would have won on long term, if using a decent bankroll size and management of this sum, because that way house edge wouldn't exist, it would be player edge instead. However, it's an impossible situation at first place, as there wouldn't be any casinos working with such rules that go against the profitability of their own business.

On long run you can use the best money management possible, but for most gamblers it won't prevent them from losing more than they earn from the games. For a small percentage of players who live from this activity management is a must and makes total difference, though. And to do this efficiently, mind or emotional control plays a big role in a gambler's routine.

1. They do not give you loss back.
Maybe you didn't fulfill the minimum wagering requirements for unlocking the VIP feature in your account which allows you to claim part of your losses back. Personally, I haven't reached this minimum bronze level as well, but I've watched videos on youtube where gamblers claim part of their losses back, so I see it's possible and practicable. You should present more evidences regards your points or ask the casino's support for help before making such accusations publicly at the forum.

AFAIK there is no lossback in Stake because the available feature is cashback, so basically his statement is true. What you can claim under the VIP menu is cashback only, I have never heard that it is possible to claim lossback but perhaps it is possible for whales by contacting VIP host. I'm platinum 2 and I have never received any lossback, but I have claimed lossback many times at the end of my gambling session.
Excuse my ignorance, but I thought lossback was a synonym for cashback. Now I see they are different features. +1 gambling term learned today, thanks!

I remember seeing special events before, like Stake tips a match outcome to gamblers, so for bets up to x dollars on that possible result, gamblers will receive their money back in case of loss, but I didn't imagine this concept could go beyond isolated events.
3963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can i earn a passive income with Altcoins? on: June 11, 2022, 12:48:41 AM
Usually these platforms only pay 12% apy when you fully fulfill their requirements which involve holding a determined amount of native tokens from the company on your portfolio while also receiving interest on this native currency. If you don't accomplish with any requirements, the interest rates may stay up to 8% apy or similar. At least in NEXO that is how it works. Crypto.com I'm not familiar with yet. I have an account there, but didn't invest on the platform.

What I like about NEXO is that you can access the website through desktop and their frequent, fair and accessible promotions they launch from times to times. It's possible to earn some nice extra money by referring active investors to the site.
I have read of the terms for nexo and it's really going to require everyone who wants to earn interest into their platform to hold nexo tokens. It's also based on tier or levels per account based on how many you hold it. I've thought of this platform as a good way to earn passively especially if you've got larger funds. But still, it's an exchange and you don't hold the keys and you should know that risk upon depositing there even if they are guaranteeing that they've got insurance and backed by other legitimate companies.
Yes, and interest rates have been changed recently. The base level (tier 4) was heavily impacted. Now investors with $25,000 invested or more will earn only 1,5% APY. To earn more interest investors are forced to reach higher tier levels accordingly to how much they have held on the platform. Moreover, extra 2% APY when choosing to receive income in NEXO is only available now for Planitum users, which is the tier 1 status of the platform for investors who hold at least 10% of their portfolio in NEXO tokens. These are huge changes which will prejudice users a lot in an attempt to boost NEXO's volume and price at crypto market.

To earn 5% APY, investors have to sacrifice 10% of their funds for NEXO tokens in order to reach Platinum level. That means it can take up to 2 years until they will recover the investment, unless the platform makes another update during this time period, what is likely, taking the volatility of crypto world and how things here change fast in consideration.
3964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots is More Likely to Cause Gambling Problem on: June 10, 2022, 11:34:34 PM
Interactive Controls – Increasing Control

Slot machines are designed for interactive controls.  This makes us feels that we are in control of every action we make thus giving us a sense of certainty ignoring the fact that winning and losing are really uncertain.
Quote
every time you push down on the ‘spin’ button on a physical slot machine or an online slot, you are taking control in a way that your brain views as positive. Each time you press the button, the visual whirlwind of colours and shapes in front of your eyes release Dopamine in your brain.
No matter how many times you push the button, the same thing will happen, the reels on the slot will spin. This simple yet effective feedback loop boosts feelings of control amongst players which encourages them to ignore the uncertainty of winning or losing and play on for longer.
I have the perception slots is one of the gambling games we have lowest control over the gameplay. There isn't much freedom to configure the game as you want. It's different from a dice game, where you can bet from 1 satoshi on, while playing with the odds as you wish. Slots work 100% in function of extra/bonus spins which you can buy for hundreds or thousands of dollars. Without those special spins which boost your rolls with extra multipliers, you just lose money.
In my opinion, the visual aspect is the main reason why people feel so excited and tempted to play these games, added to the huge multiplier bonus, since it looks fascinating  withall those colors, icons and brights alive on your screen.

3966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 30% of billionaires directly or indirectly invest in cryptocurrencies on: June 10, 2022, 10:10:31 PM
That is why I'm not surprised billionaires are accumulating more wealthy each new day, while the average joe is stagnant in his finances or getting poorer. The tool that could help people to decrease the difference between the richest and the poorest, that is cryptocurrency, is in fact helping the richest to get more money, while the ones at the bottom of the pyramid don't even dare to invest in cryptocurrency for different reasons that go from lack of funds to insecurity and lack of knowledge. The only thing I can't say is that people don't invest in crypto for lack of opportunity, because I've never seen before a highly profitable investment disponible for everyone, with very few exceptions, like cryptocurrency.
3967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC goes below 30k after US inflation rate reports on: June 10, 2022, 08:26:47 PM
Inevitably, inflation is going to skyrocket in US and in Europe due to the economical policies adopted by FED and ECB, but for now it's still profitable for big investors to participate these traditional markets, because interest rates are going to increase, what can be really profitable on short run, just like ponzi schemes are for early investors. However, once inflation hits hard and in high intensity, those investors will cashout their profits and come back to crypto market in order to protect their funds by investing on the most reputable cryptocurrencies (mainly bitcoin and ethereum) while speculating part of their funds, as usual, in altcoins. That is the next bull run I'm waiting for.

That is my read of the scenario and that is why I think bitcoin is still dropping with such news. Investors are fleeing for now, but they are going to come back soon.
3968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Human Rights on: June 10, 2022, 07:14:16 PM
In our natural world of existence, people tends to forget the many times you've helped, how you came to the rescue when there was no where else to turn, how you became a glimpse of hope and capitalise on the single wrong you've done. Your flaws always seems to over shadow your good. Although, the operations and functions of bitcoin is far from being the only symbol of hope for humanity but, it surely have its advantages and that shouldn't be over shadowed by the ills individuals get involved with and leveraging it for its anonymity.

Bitcoin has been linked so much to freedom and in many ways, it seems the only way to bring the common man and the first class citizens to an equilibrium. Where no one gets to define what you own or how we you use it. Hence, I see reasons as to why, th various human right activists has to step up to defend the freedom of the system and I am particularly proud that they recognised this fact and did.
It's also part of human nature to be egotistical and negligent with issues which don't affect them directly. That is why governments, politicians and regulators in general are so cold when labeling bitcoin. They have no empathy for those who live in devastated countries by war, economical crisis, scarcity and corrupt leaders. Bitcoin has been helpful and decisive in almost every corners of the world for many people, in almost every continents (with exception of Oceania, I suppose). If those politicians had to live for a time period in a chaotic region of the world, I think they would change or open their minds really fast to bitcoin adoption and integration on the daily life of citizens.
3969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Length of Time Before You Learn All These Gambling Terms Or Jargons on: June 10, 2022, 06:49:22 AM
I'm constantly learning gambling terms all the time, and I must say sometimes it's difficult to understand something people say, because I'm not used to talk to others person to person about gambling, so the only source of information I have is this forum, plus some articles, reviews and videos I watch once in a while. One of the last terms I've learned was the called RTP (return to player) from slot machines. That was a feature I wasn't aware of, but it was really good to learn about it, since now I pay attention to the RTP percentage before choosing a slots game to start playing. Actually, knowledge is never enough and there will be always something new to learn and absorb on this world, doesn't matter if you are a newbie, intermediary or professional.
3970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone explain what is the value of meme coins? on: June 10, 2022, 01:39:47 AM
I am confused that there are meme coins whose prices are sky rocketing but I dont see any real value these meme coins are providing
Meme coins' values are given accordingly to the fun's intensity of the joke. The funnier it is, the more expensive it will be. But be careful, because once the joke becomes too repetitive, it stops being funny, leading the hype to a sudden end. That is when investors start crying and the comedy genre is replaced by drama. 3971  Economy / Economics / Re: Food crisis coming? What's wrong about it? It could be good on: June 10, 2022, 01:13:00 AM
The poorest people on earth make the most babies. Watch the movie "Idiocracy" if you haven't yet. That movie explains this perfectly.

Somebody should do something about it but I feel like it is already too late... What can we do anyway? Erase like 5+ billion people? That would be very good tbh but I don't see it happening. The most intelligent human being on earth, Bill Gates has been doing researches on the subject but he couldn't solve it neither.

If Gates can't fix it, nobody can. Pray for Gates.
A measure to slow down population growth depends on public policies and campaigns to educate people on how they are being prejudiced for having a desorganized household core, not only for themselves as parents, but also for the children who are born there. It just doesn't happen because politicians profit from this miserable lifestyle. More children from uneducated families mean abundant income of easy votes from individuals who question nothing, only ask for food and basic goods, in an eternal cycle of repetition and precariousness.

At same time, everyone else who see this and don't talk openly are in a confort zone which doesn't let them talk freely about this issue, since they are going to be excluded from society and be considered ruthless, heartless, merciless, soulless and so on...

About Bill Gates being all this, I'm not so sure...
3972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when the market is downtrend? on: June 10, 2022, 12:15:05 AM
I experienced downtrend when I bought Bitcoin at an expensive price several times, and the last one was I bought Bitcoin when 2 months ago when the price was more than $ 40k, there was no good choice when the market was red, if selling of course had to lose and this The thing I don't want, it's better to focus on hold and if possible then buying again is a good thing.
I agree with the decision you have taken. To keep holding during bear market is necessary and there is nothing else investors can do for now because panic selling doesn't look a plausible alternative, Hopefully by next year bitcoin will reach above 40,000$ price range again, enabling investors like you to hit ROI and feel more confortable regards the market's conditions.

Personally, during bearish markets I prefer to forget about the market for a while and avoid concentrating too much on prices, because it will be a waste of time, besides being very annoying to see prices stagnant or crashing. During these times investors have a chance to focus on another aspects of their lives, especially to preserve their mental health and welfare.
3973  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: June 09, 2022, 11:53:30 PM
Nice double win today on Stake from Spain and Portugal matches! 1,86 and 1,43 odds, respectively. Although the national teams were favorites, I think the odds looked decent, especially at Spain's match against Switzerland, which is a very defensive team.

The partnership between Stake and Everton has come in a good moment for the club, as It will help Everton to increase its receipt from £ 9,6 million paid by SportPesa from 2017-2020 to £ 10 million that are going to be paid now by Stake for the master sponsorship on the team's uniform. This is the highest sponsorship paid to the club in history. Both parts of the deal seem very satisfied and proud of the partnership.
3974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your opinions about fan tokens? I'm thinking to invest in them on: June 09, 2022, 08:26:47 PM
I'm not familiar with fan tokens, but I like the concept, because they actually have a real purpose to exist and an usage which guarantees benefits to holders, as they can participate in club's decisions, win prizes and discounts in products and services related to the club. It's like becoming a partner or share holder of the club you hold tokens.

On the other hand, I don't see advantages if you aren't a real fan, that is, if you are only looking for profit from the tokens' appreciation and won't enjoy advantages the respective club offers to you.
3975  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin can solve poverty on: June 09, 2022, 07:04:45 PM
Correct, and this is not a theory that we are formulating on our own, this is a historical fact, we have seen this scenario many times in which a government for some reason or another begins to increase the money supply to the point inflation goes out of control.

And things get so bad the only way they see for solving the problem is to keep printing money, but this is only a temporary solution as we know that the more money is printed the more inflation grows, and it gets to the point in which no one wants to hold fiat and some even begin to use barter as a way to exchange among them for goods and services.
I think nothing can solve the poverty issue - the countries which have developed have progressed - those which are left behind will remain behind.
In our country there are so many issues - people are tired and sick of inflation. One thing ends and a new issue is standing with open arms. I see not end to  poverty.
A country can solve the poverty issue since there is a majority of honest, conscious, patriot and educated people in the region, so their ideals and ideas will prevail, overcoming difficulties and challenges that keep the country miserable. That is how rich countries reached the financial level they are right now and it shouldn't be impossible for others, once they follow the same formula.

I can't say about your country specifically, because I don't even know which one it is, but generally poor countries are on this condition because citizens are hostile to each other, try to take advantage of their countrymen (and foreigners), and consequently put people of this same character and behavior at leadership positions. And the minority who have principles and values are put aside from the society, because that is not the majority's lifestyle.

About OP's idea, I think stablecoins can partially help to ease the poverty issue, because with access to a strong fiat currency like dollar for a fair exchange fee price, these people can at least avoid high inflationary local currencies. Before stablecoins, to acquire dollar we had to go physical exchanges houses where the official rates displayed on the TV news and internet weren't respected by the exchanges. Let's say if 1$ was equal to 3 units of my local currency officially, at exchanges I would have to pay 5 units of my currency for 1$. This way only the rich had access to dollar for travelling, touristic reasons, while the average citizens had to stick themselves to national currency only, like a castaway restricted to a tiny island surrounded by sharks (government) which prevented him from going to a closer ship for confort, help and rescue.
3976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tools. Would you like to spend/live without extra data control? on: June 09, 2022, 05:44:32 PM
I believe privacy and anonymity are utopias. You can never achieve 100% of both in this modern world. Bitcoin and another measures mentioned above help decreasing your exposition, but don't prevent you from  being tracked, unless you don't have any IDs and live hidden in the jungle, eating and drinking from the nature.

If you manage a household, you have bills in your name, so you are already being monitored. If you have a job, you aren't anonymous anymore and probably it will be a must to have a decent communication tool, being indispensable to have a whatsapp or telegram account. If you access youtube (I believe nobody with internet access live without youtube) you are being tracked.

The problem is the government is never satisfied with the level of accessibility they have over citizens' lives. They always want more and more, being totally abusive and tyrant at some point. It's regards these levels of privacy and pseudo-anonymity people should worry in maintaining in my opinion.
3977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rakeback and promotions for limited time on: June 09, 2022, 04:57:06 PM
Do you have any strategies to play and increase your profit through rakeback or do you just ignore it? By your experience, have rakeback ever been profitable for you?
As far as I know the rakeback feature to qualify and be active to get the rakeback bonus bet participants must reach the Bronze VIP level, Rakeback can be said to be a passive income feature that is activated by gambling sites at least 10% of the house edge or more, the bet amount is understood.

Question what percentage of users on this forum who bet reach VIP level and who bet at least 1 BTC, I think 1% who earn and are active on Rakeback feature.

Honestly, if you ask me of course I can't answer bonuses or the Rakeback system is profitable or ignoring, because I gambled not to the level of the Rakeback bonus.
It depends on the platform. At freebitco.in, for an example, there is the 'reward point' feature, which is guaranteed to the gambler every 500 satoshis he wagers. During promotional days, RP income increases up to x5, what means you earn 5 RPs for every 500 satoshis wagered. That is a kind of rakeback and you don't have to be a VIP or wager a minimum amount of money on the site to be eligible to participate. It's opened to everyone.

1 RP equals to 1 satoshi and can be converted once you accumulate a minimum of 100,000 RPs on your balance.

Besides RPs, there is also a kind of VIP program, since you have to invest in FUN tokens to acquire the official cashback feature, which varies from 0,005% to 1%, depending how many FUN you hold and for how long. To be part of this program you need at least 5000 FUN (about 0,0015BTC investment) and to have access to top benefits you need 500,000 FUN (0,15BTC investment). Cashback is just one item of the program, though. There are extra benefits for holders.

About Stake's VIP program, I'm trying to make my way towards 10,000$ wagered amount in order to unlock the bronze first tier.

I can't deny these features are really tempting...
3978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments force DEXs to comply with KYC/AML laws? on: June 09, 2022, 05:30:49 AM
Governments will forbid their citizens to access DEXs once the laws relative to this matter pass on the legislative houses. Anyway, I don't think they will go after DEXs and the people operating the exchanges, rather they will go after the citizens of their countries who will keep insisting in using such services without the permission of the regulators. While it's going to be stressing and annoying for many crypto enthusiasts, it's also going to be an opportunity for countries to attract new investors and residents for their territories, by adopting friendly approaches towards crypto and its services. I expect this from countries which have weak economies and want to be developed and independent from the titan nations of the world, but lack financial resources and labor force.
3979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Rakeback and promotions for limited time on: June 08, 2022, 11:07:53 PM
Some casinos give gamblers the opportunity to earn extra satoshis by rewarding them a small percentage of the total sum of money gamblers have wagered on the platform. It's a kind of cashback feature which greatly varifies in values from one casino to another and depending the game (poker offers the highest rakeback percentages I've seen). Besides this feature, from times to times, special promotions with similar rules and benefits to players may appear aiming to raise the popularity of the website, and incentivizing people to spend more time and money at the casino.

Do you take advantage of these features or do you think they don't worth? Do you have any strategies to play and increase your profit through rakeback or do you just ignore it? By your experience, have rakeback ever been profitable for you?

Any personal experiences you can share are appreciated!
3980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 08, 2022, 08:06:15 PM
It could be on basketball, boxing or horse racing, or any kind of sport, after being in a particular sport for many years can you see or tell if a fight or event is fixed, there are upsets but in the back of our mind, there's a possibility that the match or game is fixed.
I don't think that wouldn't be a simple stuff to tell if they're rigged or fixed (whatever you call it), that will be hard tbh. I'm more into basketball but there's no easy way to tell it unless you know it for yourself from the people who might arrange these kind of things. I guess our mind can be tricky especially if we are betting someone to win yet we lost but you saw a simple mistake either from the referee/s or from the player, you'll think it's fixed.
If you are a watchful person, I believe you can suspect the behavior and expressions of players, coaches and support team, but it's impossible to be assured without further investigations and evidence which must come from someone who is inside the industry, and not from a random spectator. In every sports there are cases of suspicious results people didn't accept by nowadays, although they can't prove anything with certainty at same time.

What gamblers can do is to avoid minor leagues in order to decrease the chance of betting in a fixed match and being "scammed".
