3961  Other / Meta / Re: BITCOIN.ORG: Is being turned into nothing more than an Bitcoin pumping site... on: July 03, 2020, 11:38:57 PM
Doge has lots of asic backing as it merge mines with LTC

Doge is secure
Doge is fast
Doge is very low cost to send
I think of it a 1 usa Penney to 5 dollar bill

I think of LTC as  5 dollar bill to ten $100 dollar bills

BTC I think of a 10 to 30 yr  usa bond valued as 5000 usd or more.

You've put a lot of thought into this!

Doge is about as much of a joke as shrapnel too with 1p (uk) costing more to mint I assume the cent in the US is the same....
I do like how the inflationary purposes of ltc and dogs are well maintained, their chains could potentially be merged at some point too since they're both the same algorithm (I e half a block for ltc and half for doge with a different address/public key type to reduce confusion)...

BTC just being a commodity makes a lot of sense too and ltc can probably easily scale much further.
3962  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a correlation between price and major wallet upgrades? on: July 03, 2020, 11:11:49 PM
Not sure if 3xed means 300%(3x) but Price seems to have been in the same average range in the past 3 months and a huge drop in the last one year from around $150 to just around $50 according to coinmarketcap.

I think I threw an amounbt into it last year in around february-march time and pulled out a decent profit from it (seemed to go from 0.007 to 0.018 from what I remember), the year before when I missed it I watched it go from 0.006 to 0.022 on exchanges... It's a past history I expected to continue into spring this year but I think the whales were busy with the halving.
3963  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [POLL] Would you use a telegram advertising platform? on: July 03, 2020, 11:07:07 PM
Oooo I'm first to vote, I don't see the reasonling behind doing this. You're not going to get very good grossing figures, a lot of people mute the channels or accidentally click muted channels so you won't be able to know very well how many people have used the link.

Also, unless you find channels for things like crypt news, I doubt you'll have people staying in the channels for a long time - if instead it's a bounty/signals or some other channel where people are just there for one thing and only that I can imagine they'd just tune out of the channel and either mute it or leave.

I get annoyed when the leader of the channel tries to advertise their own social media though.
3964  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] BTC [N] PP - 1:1 - Trusted only. on: July 03, 2020, 11:02:59 PM
Could you add the amount of funds you have available and the currency it's in?

Most trades here are euro or dollar but you can find others too, the problem is you have to pay fees to convert between the two in paypal (or I have done in the past)...
3965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN TRUST PROBLEMS: Bitcoin Investers will want to know about this risk... on: July 03, 2020, 10:49:04 PM
I think you should try to ensure people actually do balanced research in cryptocurrency rather than watching one video.

One person on their own is extremely biased, you need a group of people at least with varying ideology and competence to ensure you're emphasising accurate pro's and cons of the technology and coin...
3966  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Many pages hidden within the forum on: July 03, 2020, 10:42:01 PM
There is already a more complete list about this: Hidden pages/ features on the forum

It's a bit of a shame that list isn't stickied though, op and a lot of newbies are quite unlikely to be able to find it until it is but I'm not sure how helpful they are to mention (seclog and modlog are the missing ones as you can find the others from your merit page)..
3967  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a correlation between price and major wallet upgrades? on: July 03, 2020, 10:33:03 PM
I've been looking at litecoin for a few years and it's not bad for stability but I wouldn't try to second guess what it does. If it makes the news that it has an upgrade then you'll probably see some change in the price of the coin but there may be problems with it being privacy based I'm not sure a lot of fiat exchanges like privacy coins... (I might just be thinking of cex though as I've bought dash in binance)...

Ltcs price has 3xed over a few months in the past so that might be likely again, I'll certainly have a look into its health to see how it's doing once it starts to recover a bit...
3968  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency? on: July 03, 2020, 09:35:50 PM
If you need a hedge you're going to have to use cash or precious metals (gold, silver or platinum)...

I don't think bitcoin yet has a reputation not to crash bad... Its probbay better than some stocks but not all, some places like the utilities and commodities should do well I wouldn't put all of my faith in crypto it'd be a bit like buying an airline stock...
3969  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.0 got released on: July 03, 2020, 05:48:04 PM
Great! Looks like I'm going to update my wallet then!

See if I have more success on this lightning release than the 2nd alpha one Grin...
3970  Other / Archival / Re: Code that cannot be posted on the forum on: July 03, 2020, 04:58:43 PM
If the problem isn't the on click stuff, you could send the Ray I'd to Theymos for investigation (that's what I did last time and he. Put a captchha in its place although sometimes this won't be possible if it's something that will interfere with the page).
3971  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IRS seeks info on tracing privacy coins, LN transactions for pilot program on: July 03, 2020, 04:02:46 PM
Actually I think the it's looking into tracking this means law enforcement/communications detectives have probably already looked into it? They probably won't release tools anywhere other than interpol (if that) but it's probably safe to assume it isn't too hard for law enforcement to track something like this, as a difference, they'll have to keep tracking EVERYONE in order to store the required information of whos transacting with whom...
3972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The good the bad and the ugly -bounty weekly report spammers- on: July 03, 2020, 01:22:20 PM
I don't think bounty hunters actually make very much, most coins even with an oco are scam these days, they're just desperate for the cash imo...

I'd encourage members looking at this to merge the learners, the good and the exceptional into one group and just aim for that - everything's a spectrum in society and if you're here for the right reasons (to learn about crypto or join the community to positively contribute to discussion) then you'll do perfectly well here!
3973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Coinomi BUG or ...? on: July 03, 2020, 01:14:52 PM
i run kaspersky + malwarebytes licensed version
my crypto money is safe, nobody accessed my pc
coinomiwas downloaded from official website ....

Different AVs can interfere with each other so I'm not sure keeping both is a great idea and if you have they're probably configured to not look at the same section of disk at once which could cause a problem...

Have you tried running a kaspersky scan? Did you get a community warning when you installed coinomi to say fewer than 50 people installed it (I used to get it and ignore it in electrum). You could try scanning the exe file in both to see if someone's been stupid enough to make a trojan and not a virus but I'd stop running coinomi immediately just in case it's a virus and check there's nothing weird running in the task manager if you can (you can Google the handle of tasks you don't recognise to see if they're created by your os but this might be futile if the malware is able to intercept this information and change it)...

I don't know what official coinomi comes with but it does look like you're being used as a botnet like the others said...
3974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stablecoins on: July 03, 2020, 02:50:26 AM
It'd probably make more sense to allow users the ability to make usdc and/or usdt available from your site. These are then able to be transferred for dollars (at least usdc can definitely be exchanged)...

Exchanges run by matching pairs of trades so you'll get a "maker" and a "taker" your maker essentially lists and offer and your taker accepts it and pays your fee on top.

If I wanted to sell 1btc at $10 000 I'd list it on the order book for that price, if Alice comes to the exchange and decides she wants to by 1btc, where my price is the most optimal in the book, she'll receive ("take") it...

Exchanged don't work with a sole middle man unless you're going to charge a large buffer and prepare to take the impact of a drop or rise. I don't think anyone actually makes money as a middleman on a small exchange space.
3975  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Motivation on: July 03, 2020, 02:40:53 AM
Everyone's going to face complacency all the time it's faster and easier to come to a conclusion before doing research than it is to do something after the action...

No one can research everything but if you're not going to look further into anything that peeks your interest then you're going to have to deal with your regret no matter the outcome. Even if it a coin you like goes to zero if you weren't going to do anything else with the funds you may as well have taken a punt with a few bucks...
3976  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Techemy Capital launches investable DeFi portfolios on TokenSets on: July 03, 2020, 01:52:18 AM
I don't know if this is new or not, there's already a lot of defi products already available and they look to just be offering btc and eth products?

Also do you know how they're going to represent the btc on the ethereum blockchain as I'm not sure a good way to custodially store btc in eth has been done yet?
3977  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the mod of Bitcoin > Project Development? on: July 03, 2020, 01:46:15 AM
Same as what Welsh said but if you're questioning the relevance of a thread you make in the space you might be faster making the thread in that section and then reporting it yourself (instead of pming or wait for someone to suggest you move it).. Also you can ask for general information in meta and you should get a response from a glob or admin to tell you whats best to do/if you can do it...
3978  Economy / Economics / Re: 2010 one Lebanese lira = 0.67 BTC today 1 lira = 1 Satoshi on: July 03, 2020, 01:23:52 AM
I like the comparison of 50 sats being worth a dollar at the ath while it was previously around $0.01/btc back in 2010...

I haven't heard lebinon be seen as a very stable country but still a fairly interesting comparison...

It's worth noting that this trajectory almost definitely won't continue with the same power but a continuation with less power would be pretty impressive, if we break the $100k mark in a few years it'd be an achievement...
3979  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU air safety agency suspends PIA to operate in Europe for 6 month on: July 02, 2020, 03:03:58 AM
To clarify I said "if" I don't want that to be taken as some sort of attack or something...

It's happy where it is but I thought the non certified pilot thing has been a problem for a while (I could be mistaken it could be somewhere else) . And if it has this is potentially a delayed reaction from Europe (I don't think waiting for a pilot to crash a plane is the best course of action) and they're still allowed to fly past/over Europe...
3980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Day Trading: How to Get Started & How to Win on: July 01, 2020, 10:57:46 PM
The article is quite nice and is very detailed/exhaustive but I think there's a lot of information you'd have to cover to get through everything but I think it might be a good starting point for novices to work out what to do with trading...

Without a solid strategy a lot of people seem to lose money more often than they gain and sometimes people end ip with a false positive (in gambling referred to as a "streak") too where they'll inevitably lose. A lot without taking their profits at a good time.
