3961  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason we pay taxes and why we should on: July 22, 2018, 10:49:22 PM
We have to pay taxes but it mustn't be a reason of feeding goverment.
There are reasons in reality:
1. Health care - yeah, this must be free. Sometimes we don't need meds but others need and they don't have money, our health and productivity is important to keep good economic in country.
2. Goverment security - it's sad but there always exists chance of war, in a world of piece we wouldn't have need of soldiers (it takes a lot of money from budget, especially in USA). But in our reality we need security...
3. Education - it's the best investment anyone can make in life but I would not make them free for everyone. It must be free only for them who wants to study (marks are indicator of it).
4. Pension - not everyone have children, so some people need money to live on their own even when they get old.
There are still a lot of reasons and I also included why not to pay in this post where I talk about education and military.

I'm pretty sure many of these accounts are owned by spammers, waiting to be needed to run a spambot. I would be in favour of banning all accounts with 0 posts a month after creation.

Hi, I am a University student in Hong Kong. I am studying economics. Now, I am doing my honor project which is about the relationship between bitcoin price and Internet variables. The data of Forum Statistics is very useful for my project. Can provide the daily data? Thx
What data do you need exactly?
This sounds like an interesting subject that deserves it's own thread to publish your findings from start to end. If you create one, please PM me the link. I may be able to help you with some of your data requirements.
No, why ban all accounts after 1 month inactivity? That's not fair to my mind because sometimes we register to ask just one thing (usually around mining) and then we are in silent for some time. To my mind six month is adequate.
John_BAKA
I think you don't need any forum's SMF (CMS) statistics for your project, old topics and public statistic is enough.
How about the daily new posts, new topics and page views. They seems look like useful.

Here it is:

If you are looking for them, then I suggest you to choose some sections because for example bitcoin discussion is very spammed. Also it will be better if you often visit cointelegraph.
3963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: India to legalize gambling and sports betting on: July 19, 2018, 11:34:45 PM
Yes, there are benefitd which it can bring to goverment but this is a country where there are a lot of peoples and almost all of them are very poor. Goverment has to focus on more major tasks rather than this. When there are poor people, their hope of becoming rich quickly is gambling. So this will cause fatal problems, at least it's my mind and many times proven in poor countries, casinos become top here everytime.
If they want it for tourists, then what about to make them open in very famous places for only non local citizens?
3964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are ASICS usable outside of Mining? on: July 19, 2018, 11:07:58 PM
What else can Miners like ASICS do beside mining Cryptocurrencies? Can they be combined globally to serve as Super Computers, used for other complex calculations, for stimulations, as extra computer processors etc.
Why aren't Miners using them for some of these purposes instead of dumping them after Mining Crypto.

Guess ASICS would become cheap if they can be used for other purposes?
Have heared from some people that ASIC can be used for complex calculations but as far as I know it's aimed for only one operation and that's mining. If they would be combined globally to create super computer, then imagine Bitfury and Bitmain, they would do many crazy things, imagine how fast you would crack any password and etc.
Yes, for other purposes they may become cheap, it all depends how valuable that "purpose" is. GPUs were cheap, yeah? But when it could profit some people a lot in mining, they become very valuable, so can say the same about asics.
And as it was already mentioned, heat is it's best side too. If you live in cold countries or anywhere in winter, you can have good heat system which can save your budget and even give profit.
3965  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen to banks? on: July 19, 2018, 10:45:24 PM
Many says that banks would become obsolete if cryptocurrency would take over the world in the future, but i guess not. Here are some of my assumptions on what would be the situation of banks in the future with cryptocurrency.

1. INVESTMENT
Banks will take an advantage to cryptocurrency using it as their main source of investment. They say, if you cant beat them, join them and bank owners  would do everything to fit into new society of financing to find clients on the new generation and still earn from them. Instead of UITFs or mutual funds, they would go for crypto investments.

2. CURRENCY
Or perhaps i would say a dollar account. As far as i know, banks offers a local currency account and a dollar account which can be used for international transactions such as shipment or travel. On the cryptocurrency era, there would be a local currency, dollar , and cryptocurrency account which probably an electronic account. Dollar wouldnt be a big hit that time because crypto can function the same and more effecient to do.

3. LOANS
Who can say that you can only loan fiat on banks? When the time comes, bank can offer crytpocurrency loans which can be used as an investment, business or buying something on cryptocurrency market. Im sure all items can be purchased using crypto that time including cars and real estates. So getting some cryptoloan wouldnt be a problem.

4. SAVINGS
ofcourse, the most wanted of them all. Who.doesnt want any security for their treasured cryptocirrency earnings? Banks which has the main function of keeping your money secured would offer crypto savings which produces interest over time. Preventing scams and hackers that we all afraid of.

As you see, banks would rather adopt than being extinct. Its like those businesses who innovates when society changes. If cryptocurrency overpower the economy, they should go with the flow to survive
C'mon man, what do you say, ohh. Bank and bitcoin loans? Are you joking? It's very ,very risky, this action has potential to bankrupt bank or do opposite but risks are so high, it even doesn't worths to try for one day. Why do you all adore bitcoin? It's popularity isn't only being a currency, it's a new payment method and to be fair it's more valuable here.
Also without those list, banks already accept bitcoin services. There is no need to turn into bitcoin system.
It's very curious what you say, just imagine relationship of FED and USA banks on bitcoin.
3966  Economy / Services / Re: need US address to recieve product and reship on: July 19, 2018, 10:06:58 PM
Don't know him. Don't know if he have that service.

But in other sub forum people use him for USA shipment all the time

thanks for the info
Yes, this man is amazing, he helped me a lot times, but seems last time he is busy (at least for me). Don't know if he'll accept to ship card on your adress because I highly think he will have one but if he can, he will do his best to help you.
Also as far as I know, for some money, zazarb and Darkstar can do the same thing (I messaged them one year ago but my plans have changed, if I remember correctly, both of them are from USA).
3967  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: IS THE 'BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION' COMING FOR SCIENCE? on: July 19, 2018, 09:22:12 PM
I thought it would be something amazing when I saw Science and Blockchain but I have to agree Vod.
Also you mentioned Russian Scientists and I want to say something: the best they did was exploring and developing of nootropics, they really did amazing job with this lab experiments.
To my mind it would be great if science and blockchain would be used this way: patenting of new discoveries (like chemicals and etc), selling of some scientific lectures and a lot, for example storing research chemical testing datas on blockchain...
3968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does holding long term can be worthy despite of unpredictable market? on: July 19, 2018, 08:59:52 PM
There are a lot of people who talk about holding, even net word comes here "HODL". It doesn't worth always and I can give you a bright example. Let's take Zcash, it's very popular coin. If you see statistics on coinmarketcup, you'll clearly see that from the very begining it's price was nearly 5000$, then it started to fall, then we had some rises but as you see this coin has never reached even 1000$ chart. How long do we have to wait? Maybe years and years and it's still doubtful if this coin ever go over 1000$ nothing to talk about 4000$.
3969  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is not the rise you are looking for on: July 19, 2018, 07:37:22 PM
As we hope it to rise, always looking any rise like a saver but instead they seem like to a trap.
Just look at one month ago what happened from any graphic, from 7200 to 9200 it was a wild process it just rised too fast then everybody believed it is real and jumped, left with a bag in lap ,it came back to 6ks. So calculate well it s the same guy again moving, it will rise then another rise then a big fall. if it rises too steep that means it not natural, if its not natural grace yourself  Kiss

Just wait for the price to increase if you are disappointed today, if you think that you are losing more profit each day then just do not look at the price in the market and wait for it to grow again because the volatility of the market is just natural.

Yes, you're right. Never expect too much on what you invest. Investing in crypto is like a gamble, you don't know whether you will win or loose in the end. So better to invest only what you can afford to lose. As we all know, bitcoin price is unpredictable. We are not sure if it  will continuously increase or not. For now, preferably HODLing is the best option while waiting for the price to reach at its peak.
Rise isn't bad as you say, it doesn't means bitcoin will fall soon and fall will be worse, even if it happens, that's the passion of trading. Also investing in crypto is really like a gamble but with this logic investing in USD/EURO/GBP is like a gamble too, why not? These currencies sometimes fall a little, sometimes rise, it's gamble but here risks are very, very low, can say the same about profit. That's why bitcoin is very risky, the more you invest, 100x more you profit or you'll end up loosing everythinf if you are nervous and can't wait.
3970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH mining Windows 10 with 3 GB NVIDIA still possible? on: July 19, 2018, 07:12:03 PM
Well, as I see everyone suggested you to use Linux but seems no one mentioned that 3GB Vram can be a problem in future. Memory requirements for ETH mining are actually increasing as time passes. If you want short term mining and then plan to sell them, yeah mine but personally I suggest you to sell it, wait a little bit and then buy good gpu (nvidia plans to launch new gpu as far as I know).

thanks FortuneJack, I have received JACKMATE World Cup frenzy prize  Grin

Damn luck you got in there, Just wondering this have you even receive the PS4 yet or just the 1 btc prize?

I only received 1 BTC in my FJ account, because Im not luck in goal bundle.
Wow, top winner is our forum member (not a newbie too). Congrats, btw this contest was really a pleasure for all players, just saw statistics and seems you have 20 score frenzy, others - 15. You are still lucky, especially if you hold and price doubles...
What I want to know is following: have you also played on other gambling websites? If yes, I highly think we can see you on others list.
3972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC vs ZEN vs KMD invest long term on: July 18, 2018, 10:49:22 PM
Hey guys!
What do you think is the best investment for more then one year? Litecoin, Zencash or Komodo? Thanks for your answers! 🙂

Best regards Eisenkopf89
Is litecoin different from bitcoin? Almost NO, it had different scrypt for mining and now even it's cracked by bitmain, thry made asic litecoin miner. This coin isn't something different, innovative, also it's price usually follows bitcoin's price (when btc rises, lite rises too).
I never had interest in those coins so can't say much...
Don't blame but for me ether is best for future purposes.

Bitsler, I heard that you are having issues with your Burst wallet. If you didnt upgrade to the latest Burst reference software then you need to contact the developers for assistance in case you didnt know about the news about the hard fork.

The upgrade is necessary for the upgrade going to the Dymaxion.
Really? Do they have issues? I guess they know whom to contact because burst was the first altcoin (among not popular altcoins) which was added on Bitsler because a lot of people were sending requests and if I amn't wrong developers contacted them too (don't know if it's true).

Usually second account is allowed to let users have second wallet where they store currency.
3975  Economy / Economics / Re: Government regulation on cryptocurrency, GOOD or BAD? on: July 18, 2018, 04:46:00 PM
I came to a realization that government had stepped in already in some countries who are accepted and acknowledge cryptocurrency existence. In fact they made a regulations that has made some negative and positve reactions over the implementation of cryptocurrency regulations like doing KYC (Knoy Your Client) on local exchanges, Registering ICO projects to the government agency concerns and etc which purpose is to prevent illegal or abuse in the use of cryptocurrency from money laundering, funding terrorist groups and etc. Well can you say about this regulations, GOOD or BAD?
If you want to be an official exchanger, then you have to agree some regulations but still it doesn't matters because you can always exchange your bitcoins without leaking your identity. Just tell me which bitcoin mixer uses KYC? Lol, no one because you may know what's their mission + no one will register official exchanger or otherwise they will have no customer. Now even built in exchange/mixers are on market. Regulations can't stop dark market, it can only control white, legal market and that's ok.
3976  Economy / Speculation / Re: Please share your prediction about this recent pause of growth rate !! on: July 17, 2018, 11:58:37 PM
Just tell me, why do we need bitcoin's price higher than 6000$ or even more than 600$? Is it used so massively that this price isn't enough for circulation? And mining is still profitable too. The time we have to expect rise is halving, yeah, number of block reward will reduce and for this current price won't be enogh for good profit. Otherwise to my mind there is no reason for rise and this pause of growth rate is absolutely adequate.
3977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Become Mainstream In The Next 10 Years? on: July 17, 2018, 11:37:09 PM
What I can't understand here is that how will bitcoin become major payment way in next 10 year? As you see, when price was nearly 20K, transactions got stucked and fees were skyrocketed. So from this we can say that current bitcoin isn't for massive use and if you remember, that's the reason why there was a fork of bitcoin and we got bitcoin cash. Not bitcoin but alts like ethereum has high chance of it or we have to change something in bitcoin as time goes.
3978  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where is best trading tutorial? on: July 17, 2018, 11:02:21 PM
Read man, read! Just tell me what kind of tutorial are you looking for? How to use bitrex? Or How to profitable trade? If you are looking for this last one, then books are your best "tutorials". Also remember that despite the fact that you read a lot, have skills and etc, luck is your best friend while trading. Non knowledge can help you in trading if you aren't lucky because statistics doesn't guarantee right choice with analyze, sometimes something may happen unexpectedly.
3979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NO ONE SELLS BUT HODL? on: July 17, 2018, 08:49:26 PM
OP as you see everyone suggest to hold or hodl as you say but why? It's like be a billionare and don't even spend one cent and live like a very poor. Economic needs money to be used widely, invested, spent, sometimes holded, combination of all them. It seems people don't hodl and bitcoin is widely used, just see statistics of bitcoin mixers, for example on bitmixer.io as owner claimed, 1 million bitcoin was mixed yearly. There are 10x more people who don't mix bitcoins. But despite that fact, just save some of them, who knows what will happen in future, just save small amount like you save money for bad days.
3980  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What methods to use to promote the project? on: July 17, 2018, 07:39:22 PM
Well, Facebook advertising is now an option again, so I would definitely look into that.
You can just run the campaigns yourself, it isn't that difficult.

AFAIK Goodle still doesn't allow cryptocurrency-related advertising, so don't think that's an option.
Somehow I can still see crypto/bitcoin related advertisements from google ads. Maybe they'll soon stop those ads...
OP to be fair it would be more helpful to ask that question on internet marketing forums but since I have some experience in it, I'll try to answer.
This forum is number 1 in it's niche, so advertisement here means you directly send message to almost all people interested in crypto and blockchain technologies, also you can run signature campaign. For example good signature campaign can bring you great success like Qtum did once, now they are top in coinmarketcup.
Another way is real life advertisement like meetings, invite people and let them know about your project, if something is good, people spread it widely to their friends, then these friends to their friends and etc.
