3961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trust wallet rocks on: February 25, 2020, 01:44:50 PM
I used to be so obsessed with coinomi wallet because it support many altcoins, maybe because I find it more better than myether and copay and later I decide to try trust wallet, I was surprised that right after importing my private key all my altcoins are ready for me including every single ERC20 tokens I own, Trust wallet get rid of adding tokens manually and in fact it shows every price of the tokens that are listed and trading, now I can't stop loving the wallet, way better than coinomi now

Will probably check it out later.
Though i am not sure it's a good idea to store too much on such wallet, assuming it's not decentralized wallet and not used on a safe mobile device. It's probably better to use the wallet for storing coins(few coins especially) you want to spend short term
3962  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people still smoke cigarettes? on: February 25, 2020, 01:12:17 PM
Probably addiction... just like most of us living on earth are addicted to one thing or the other. Unfortunately smoking things like cigarettes has more disadvantages than advantages to many/most people. The addiction and the possible health challenges are not good things. I guess those that are addicted could start reducing the amount they smoke a day, eat/live more healthy, deal with the root cause of the addiction, until they finally quite smoking.
3963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you borrow money as your bankroll if you trust your skills in gambling? on: February 25, 2020, 10:14:45 AM
Well, it depends on people. I am not good at borrowing money (especially outside of my family) whether I am sure of making profit or not.
I will probably lend though, if you are truely very skilled in the game, and not taking big risk. I don't think it's a good idea to lend to people who are not sure of "winning".
3964  Other / Off-topic / Re: What good deed did you do today? on: February 25, 2020, 09:30:39 AM
I don't think it's a good idea to go around telling others about people you've helped, or the good deeds you have done for others. It's more blessed to help and keep it quiet especially if your intention isn't to get praises from people. Besides, the person you help may not be pleased seeing you publizing how you help him/her out a "miserable life".
If people insist you prove your aids to others, you probably could show them, but it's still more moral to keep the identity of those you helped private unless they permit you to publicize them.

Well, I am not sure if i've helped someone today in any way. I did things today I believe would be helpful to other, whether they try the things and they help them or not, I don't know.

Can this free credit pe exchanged into any coin ? or is it simply a test token with no monetary value ?
Will give it a try a bit later and come back with some feedback.

Do you intend to withdraw? I guess such bonus are meant to be used on the platform and not to convert and withdraw. I haven't visited the site yet to know for sure. It couldn't load on my lightweight browser. I usually check things out on the light one before viewing on the main browsers
3966  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ideals of Blockchain: Suggestions on things to consider when ranking a Blockchain project on: February 25, 2020, 05:56:45 AM
To carry everyone in a community along, project ideas/concepts should be well explained in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. I wrote about this here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5225425.msg53827701#msg53827701

It should be explained in summary and detailed.
And you will probably need to do the explaining under each standard or rule.
Example: Under rule 1, 2 & 3 (Decentralization, Transparency, Anonymity):

* Decentralization
[you explain how your project is decentralized - in summary & detail]

* Transparency
[you explain how your project is transparent... in summary & detail]

* Anonymity
[you explain how your project is privacy-friendly...in summary & detail]

Raters and the community members then go through your explanations and rate accordingly.
It has to be explained with proofs.
3967  Other / Off-topic / Ideals of Blockchain: Suggestions on things to consider when ranking a Blockchain project on: February 25, 2020, 05:29:47 AM
It is important to understand why Blockchain was invented. Read Bitcoin whitepaper or go through how Bitcoin was run in its early days to to understand what he/they want:

With that in mind, one can conclude that the most core features desired by the inventor/inventors are standards/principles/rules listed below

Principles/rules/standards of Blockchain or decentralization:

Rule 1. Decentralization
Rule 2. Transparency,
Rule 3. Anonymity/Privacy,
Rule 4. Permissionless/Trustless usage
Rule 5. Censorship resistant
Rule 6. Immutablity,
Rule 7. Use of deflationary currency
Rule 8. Secure usage or security
Rule 9. Reputation
Rule 10. Open source
* others include: usefulness, viablity etc

These standards should be seriously taken into account when building a Blockchain/Decentralized projects. No cutting of corners!
Communities and developers need to ensure that any additional feature to a decentralized system do not violate those vital principles or rules .

Rating or Ranking of decentralized applications becomes easy when the 10 rules are rigorously followed.

If I want to build an identity application and I'll need to build it based on the above standard otherwise my project will be poorly rated and deemed unsafe, no matter how nice it works.

Rating my Identity Project (example).
Assuming I am building one and the project is called "SafeID",  some qualfied & skillful "raters" will go through the project and rate it in this manner:

✳Project Name: SafeID.
1. Decentralization: 80%
2. Transparency: 70%
3. Anonymity/Privacy: 80%
4. Permissionless/Trustless usage: 68%
5. Censorship resistant: 50%
6. Immutablity: 80%
7. Use of deflationary currency: 70%
8. secure usage or security: 75%
9. Reputation: 50%
10. Open source: 85%
* others include: usefulness, viability etc
Total score: 70.8% (80+70+80+68+50+80+70+75+50+85 = 708/10). *And it passd the vital standard* 45—50% should probably the safe zone.

Now, this rating process must not be abuse. The skilled raters have to be transparent with their ratings to allow the communities to challenge and score their rating. I think this will be well handled in this manner:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224322.msg53800187#msg53800187

If you don't like a feature in the above standards, like immutablity, you can simply add a feature that let community regulators/moderators or users hide an immutable data from a decentralized network. One of my favorite ways to hide data (image for example) is to get a moderators permanently break the image into tiny pieces if it breaks a community rule but the owner of the image should still be able to view it with his keys. If the data is actually too risky for a society, the owner could be arrested and the keys seized. Such data should be labeled (in its broken/hidden/blurred form) though, so that nodes can choose not to run them
3968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A new way for doing automatic investment plan - BTC AIP on: February 23, 2020, 04:51:06 PM
How does this really work? Is the feature inbuilt on the exchanges or is it possible to invest on the exchanges without depositing funds on them? Or do people need to invest through you to enable you invest for them on the exchanges? You need to be more transparent..
3969  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stop the world recession that is soon coming. on: February 23, 2020, 03:30:33 PM
You could tackle the situation with real crypto if there isn't going to be resistance and violence.
I prefer living sustainably with nature (mixed with some modernity) in a decentralized manner. People need to reduce their dependance on central system. The current system is built in such a way that if the center is bad, everyone suffers it. Or if the center collapses, everyone collapses. Not a good thing to do when there are better alternatives that can be good for people, animals, environments etc
3970  Other / Off-topic / Re: What time do you go to bed? on: February 23, 2020, 01:00:56 PM
Probably dangerous to the health of most people? And only few people are immune to the danger? I have seen the sleep research in the past, I think I believed it and it worked for me(I guess). But thesedays I don't even take the sleeping thing into account like before but I feel fine. Maybe because I rest or take a nap once in a while during the day
3971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CCT Bilboard post thoughts? on: February 23, 2020, 12:43:47 PM
Sounds like an interesting place to have discussions about multiple crypto projects as a community. I guess you will need to include the voting feature for debating and voting on better projects out of many unfiltered picks by members. Members will need to make sure that everyone votes for quality though.
3972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Destroying Bitcoin with a single question on: February 23, 2020, 10:40:23 AM
If you buy all the fiat currency in the world, what stops a bank from illegally printing more fiat to meet a high demand? And this printing could end up devaluing the currency if manipulating the price overwhelms the authority. This can't happen (or easily happen) with real cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.

You probably don't understand Bitcoin yet. It solves alot of problems bedeviling fiat currencies. If I buy a land for two Bitcoin, the seller gets the two Bitcoin and keep it in his wallet. That is way better than handing the money to a bank. Your money don't get devalued, you control the fund, and you enjoy other important features of Bitcoin.
As people continue building more useful things on Bitcoin(hopefully quicker) it will be more useful, and work better than fiat and traditional stocks. Bitcoin can be programmed for many useful purposes. It can be programmed for insurance, real-estate, online marketplace, food reserve and for pretty much "anything".
3973  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries and their own cryptocurrency! on: February 23, 2020, 09:48:23 AM
The Venezuelan government launches Petro in order to improve the economic situation that the country is going through. But it has not been successful due to many factors including lack of trust. Merchants have not joined President Maduro's call for adoption.

The price of Petro is at $ 60. In the authorized exchange plataforms for its commercialization, users say that its price is below between 30 and 40%.

More detail about Petro in this article.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/es.cointelegraph.com/news/how-to-buy-petro/amp

I guess it's about people not trusting a centralized power rather than the trustless feature of real cryptocurrency.
In my opinion, a cryptocurrency could work well anywhere if it's built on basic crypto principles like transparency, immutablity, censorship resistant, trustless/permissionless transaction, privacy/anonymity, deflationary currency(& stablecoin)... plus things like security, usefulness, etc. There may be serious problems in future if you don't prioritize on those principles
3974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For those who wears a signature of gamble service campaigns on: February 23, 2020, 08:36:05 AM
I prefer not to say how I spend mine.
If automated betting is available, I will probably put in some amount of money and time in trying my luck in luck-based games. I will likely spend more time on skill based games that interest.
3975  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for investors for a Gambling Project on: February 23, 2020, 07:58:25 AM
I guess it will be hard to find serious investors in this manner. There are things you'll need to have or consider having to be taken seriously. Those things will help convince people who wish to invest that your idea is viable and not too risky to them and your customers.
3976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know what games have the best odds. on: February 23, 2020, 07:43:00 AM
Exactly. It's good to reflect on your game when you aren't doing well, otherwise you would keep making thesame mistakes, losing more money and suppressing the resulting feelings with fun.... then you become addicted especially if don't have a happy life outside of the casino.
3977  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple Ways To Live A Happy Life on: February 23, 2020, 07:21:03 AM
I think unexpected & unfortunate events could crash the happiness obtained in the manners you described... unless  you supressed things with drugs. Depending on drugs without having solutions to the unexpected events means you won't achieve much. But depending on your true CREATOR (the CREATOR of everything that exists) will certainly keep you happy, safe and on the right path until your allotted time to leave this world comes.
3978  Economy / Economics / Re: In the past where taxes were honoured ~ on: February 23, 2020, 06:56:13 AM
In the current system this might be problematic as it essentially rewards big spenders and big blowouts of money...

The people buying the roads may not have been so thrilled with the concept either as they probably only did internal servers from within the government. Atm rich people are pretty well known for their work so I doubt it'd do much for them other than be a burden. Also the richest person probably just found ways to try to hide their wealth too or give a small amount to the second richest to stick them with the liability.

I guess roads could just be concessioned to people who can maintain them, build new ones, etc. The road will still be owned by the community.   Question is, how do you make maintaining & repairing of a road profitable to the people you hand it over to without over burdening the community while trying to make it profitable? One of the ways to do this is probably to concession some part of the lands around the road to them... so that they can make good use of lands and earn extra profit from them.
3979  Economy / Economics / Re: In the past where taxes were honoured ~ on: February 23, 2020, 06:33:18 AM
I honestly will be glad to pay more if I have lots of extra money. But it's OK to get everyone to pay their taxes. It's probably not OK to force taxes on people who don't deserve to be taxed.. . like people who don't use things that a society places tax on. I am not sure if it's OK to tax someone who doesn't depend on a society to survive. He/she can choose to donate to the society, and such donations should be rewarded in some ways... maybe with some kind of ratings.
3980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Projects Below Top 100 Coinmarketcap? on: February 21, 2020, 03:46:00 PM

I've been trying to do some research on some of the lower cap projects out there, and a few of them caught my interest. ARK, seems to be a pretty well funded project with a total of 3000 BTC in dev funds, constant developments, but lack of marketing and overall use case has hurt them a lot I believe.

BTW, if you buy $1,000 worth of ARK, make sure to choose your delegate and vote.  It will generate at least one ARK a day for you. Smiley   Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) is the best form of "mining". Wink

NEO is a quasi-DPOS that it generate GAS while sitting in approved wallet.

Is this the project: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ark/
Earnings one coin a day on a thousand dollar fund isn't that much. Besides, the coin could dump and your staking reward will probably be drastically reduced. It's quite risky to invest in any kind of project
