Suchmoon & ibminer, have you ever considered translating BPIP in other languages? If you think this is feasible, let me know. I can help you with the translation in Romanian.

3983  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin100 is back and stronger [COVID-19] on: May 26, 2020, 06:43:02 PM
I doubt theymos banned him, as, for what I know, theymos doesn't ban anyone at first sight. Most likely, he is waiting for some time (as we all do), for a proof of ownership from Bruno. And this can't be less than 24h, in my opinion, maybe even more. I believe theymos is giving him (the account) a chance. But if no proof will be provided soon, most likely, the account will be banned or locked.
3984  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin100 is back and stronger [COVID-19] on: May 26, 2020, 10:18:45 AM
I never knew Bruno, as I stated before, but I donated for his cause. Not much, but I wanted to help a man in need.

What I really don't understand, if - let's say - OP is Bruno indeed, how comes he never thanked anyone for donations, after this miracle recovery? Although he didn't knew actually who donated for him, but if OP was Bruno, I believe he would first write in the other topic something like "thank you all for your support! I managed to recover etc.". But this didn't happen.

Alternatively, he could post am image with a note from his departure from the hospital. But this also did not happen...

Deci inca exista solutii anonime, nu trebuie sa intram in panica Smiley

Time passes so fast these days, doesn't it? Smiley
3988  Other / Meta / Re: List of advertising shills. Mods please review and ban as appropriate. on: May 24, 2020, 10:18:41 AM
Oh, I see...maybe this is the reason then. I'll focus on the new ones then. I saw that many of them use the Press board mostly.

However, if any members spot any other shillers but don't have time for reportimg them, just mention the names here and I'll take care of them Smiley Of course, I'll keep looking myself as well. Let's do our best to keep the forum clean!
3989  Other / Meta / Re: List of advertising shills. Mods please review and ban as appropriate. on: May 24, 2020, 06:29:45 AM
I kept working on the saga of the accounts posted here. For some reason, all the reports I made for FXO and Vladdirescu87 were all marked as bad, although all their posts are similar to the ones of the user fourthfunction, which was nuked recently, after I reported his posts. This time I didn't report anymore all the posts of these two users, only a bunch of them.

I really don't understand the basis of how these reports are analyzed. So an user keeps spamming a website in all his posts and he gets nuked and all the reports are good. Another user does the same thing (just the shilled site is different) and his posts are good and the reports are bad.

This is very intriguing. I'll still make reports for the users mentioned here and see what happens. The ones remaining are shitcoinoffering, DimaKHV, Jdebunt, zakoliverz and JessicaVL. I still have 889 unhandled reports from the previous users I reported this week.

3990  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Farm of High Ranking accounts abusing Sig. Campaigns - Ban Evasion. on: May 23, 2020, 05:14:33 PM
Great job, Bitcoin_Arena! As always Smiley I believe you have great skills to become a detective, man! How do you find these guys? I always wondered about that. If you're willing to share some info / tips, maybe more members would involve in such activities and maybe more cheaters would be found. Of course, not in public, as if you would do it like this, the cheaters would also learn how to hide better lol.

I also supported all the flags created by Lauda, but I was sad to see that only I and her supported the flags so far. I encourage all the other members to support all these flags. Otherwise, Bitcoin_Arena's efforts are in vain.

In afara situatiei in care locuiesti in Antarctica, sunt ferm convins ca oriunde te-ai afla, exista un ATM crypto in apropierea ta. Chiar si unul cash-in / cash-out.

Aparatele de tip cash-in / cash-out le poti gasi pe CoinATMRadar.
3992  Other / Meta / Re: List of advertising shills. Mods please review and ban as appropriate. on: May 22, 2020, 10:23:41 AM
Do you know why o_e_l_e_o created this topic?
This topic was created, so you don't have to report all posts made by a certain user.

I understand the reason for the topic but, as you see, it didn't lead to what it was meant for, unfortunately. That's why I took action. Manual action.

Suppose there are only 10 users, each reporting 1500 posts daily. Do you really expect moderators to handle all of these reports?

Yes, it's their job. Nobody placed them in their position by force.

Apart from this, we all claim the forum is spamed a lot. This means action is needed. The action must be taken by reporters and also by mods. One side can't do anything without the other side. Reporters should report and mods should analyze the reports. To say that someone reported too many posts in a given timeframe in a nonsense. If mods can't keep the pace with the reports ratio, maybe more mods are needed...
3993  Other / Meta / Re: What is exactly the functionality of "Report to moderator"? on: May 22, 2020, 09:20:28 AM
Thank you for the details. But do they disappear only on mods side or also on my side?
They'll appear unhandled on your side.

Meanwhile I reached to have more than 300 good reports, meaning I can now see all my reports and all their statuses. From what Welsh said above, I understood that I should still see the reports made a while ago, including my first reports - which are the ones made for goanadupabitcoin and Nea Sandu, which determined the apparition of this topic.

However, now that I have access to see all my reports, these ones are not showing at all. The oldest report I can see is one from April 30th, while the ones for goanadupabitcoin and Nea Sandu were made on April 16th or so. Unless the old unhandled reports disappear also on the reporter's side, what could happen with these reports of mine? Could it be that they were deleted for some reason (action which makes me think even more that the respective two users are protected by Cyrus)?

From all the other members which have unhandled reports made a long time ago: do you still see them in the reports log?
3994  Other / Meta / Re: List of advertising shills. Mods please review and ban as appropriate. on: May 22, 2020, 09:09:41 AM
OK, after reporting 1500 posts in less than 24h I was contacted by a Staff member to stop Smiley Not kidding, this is serious. I started reporting on May 20th, when I had 300 reports and I ended on the evening of May 21st, when I reached 1799 reports. I reported almost all members mentioned in this topic, posts by post, after seeing these:

The fourthfunction account has posted 288 times in the ~8 weeks it's been in existence.

All 288 posts are links to publish0x articles.

I have reported the account to moderators with this note
Quote
This account has posted 288 times. Every post is the same: the briefest of intros, followed by a link to media site publish0x. This is surely the definition of low quality posting and by inference paid-to-post. I request that a ban, in the interest of the forum's posting integrity, be imposed.
I'll check intermittently to see if any action is taken and post here.

Indeed, I tagged the account a few months back for this exact reason.

Checking Modlog, the individual reported post has been deleted. No other action appears to have been taken.

Checking Modlog, the individual reported post has been deleted. No other action appears to have been taken.

This is a practice that applies to all such cases, only posts that are reported are deleted, which leads us to the conclusion that each post should be reported individually, of course if we want all to be deleted. Depending on who is taking the action (not everyone has the same viewpoint), such users are first alerted by a private message, then with temporarily ban.

I see that last posts from fourthfunction is dated to 22 December 2019, which means that he didn't get a strong enough message to stop. This is probably one of those who think: "You can't delete as much as I can post".

I've wondered about this too. I have often reported with a comment along the lines of "Chronic/long term/repeated behavior. Please review post history and trash/delete/ban/nuke" or something similar. The post in question is often trashed, but very rarely does anything happen to the other posts. I wondered if it was due to the report being handled by a non-global mod without the power to delete the posts in other sections or ban the user in question.

If this is the case, does that mean a global mod will never see the report? Is there a system for mods to both handle reports like this but also flag it up for the attention of a global mod? Or is it better to report multiple posts from the user as there is then a higher chance of a global mod seeing one and banning the user?

I've even had to report the same user for plagiarism three or four times in the past, despite every report being marked as good and the post in question trashed, before the user was actually banned. I wonder if this is the same issue - moderators handling the report but being unable to ban the user.

That being said, I reported hundreds of posts (about 1500) made by Jgilpulg, -Multivitamina-, crabby, CoinCode_sh, CoinTrendy, Bitcoin_chaser, bitintruder, Denial11, market pearl, Xangle, BestBitcoinCasino, cryptocointrade.com, Alex077, mamamu111, star7dust, HB Wallet, cryptozink, fourthfunction, voskobojn and FXO - all these being members mentioned here. All the operation took me about 14h of almost non-stop reporting posts. I did it because as I understood from the above mentioned quotes, nothing is done unless there is a post by post report. However, I saw that a few members mentioned in this topic which were nuked or which have almost all their posts deleted, but these were just a few cases (such as ElizabethA, JohnPerino, stysn or CrisperSoft). All the others remaining (which represent the biggest part) had their posts deleted just one by one, for each report made.

So while I was in frenzy yesterday, reporting post after post, I received a PM from 3dOOM which, in case you don't know, works with Cyrus at Cryptios, a company helping the forum with account recoveries. He thanked me for all these reports but also asked me to not make hundreds of reports anymore for a single user which has a same pattern for all his posts. I sent him also all the above quotes, explaining him why I did it.

His reply was this (I'll translate it, as it was written in Romanian): "indeed, there are cases as the ones you mentioned but, if you don't see any actions taken, it doesn't mean that no action was taken. Reporting all posts of an user is not a way for solving the problem, as it overloads the reports section and instead of helping it does more bad than good. As you said yourself, it was difficult for you to report all the posts of a single user; think about the fact that the mods receive the reports from thousands of users and all the actions are manually made".

That being said, I reached the following conclusions / questions:
- what 3dOOM says is sound, but in the end all we can do is hope that sometime some mod will take care of the other posts of an user (the ones not reported but having the same pattern as the ones reported). So all we do is based on hope and if we really try hard to eliminate the spam we overload the mods. Of course this leads to the fact that the spammers are free to spam until a mod will take care of him, although this could mean after a long time. Long live the spam!
- I reported so many posts that the mods couldn't keep the pace with my reporting ratio - while this sounds funny, it is also sad
- while 3dOOM is not an official Staff member (as nothing is stated on his profile), the only "somehow-official" rank he has is the one that he is helping Cyrus for something completely different than analyzing reports (as I explained above, he is involved in Cyrus' company for account recoveries), somehow, for a reason which I'm missing, he has access to the reports. Meaning he also has access to members' emails and who knows to what more. This third conclusion mentioned here should raise serious questions, such as: why does 3dOOM have access to the reports section? What else can he access? If this is legitimate though, why doesn't he appear as a Staff member or as am official of the forum (at this moment he is only a Member with copper membership).

Looking forward for what are the thoughts of all those which previously posted here and which gave a lot of time for reporting posts -actions which now seem to be based on pure hope.
3995  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: May 19, 2020, 02:49:29 PM
After replying to your topic from Beginners & Help section, I just realized I somehow forgot to reply to you here as well.

We are building this forum together and you are making a suggestion that will weaken people that have done a great job in this forum without being recognized.

Please show me a few members which did a great job inside the forum and which are not recognized. Can you name some? And, of course their unrecognized posts.

I must say we are all friends and why would a friend suggest for a difficult ranking system because you are almost a High ranked member.

This would be nice, but, unfortunately, we are not all friends. Some have acquintances here...some have friends...some have enemies / ignored users and so on. Regarding the part "because you are almost a High ranked member" - I started also from 0, from nothing and all I did was to bring good contributions to the forum. I started my activity here 1.5 years after the implementation of the merit system with 0 merits at the respective time. For more information, please read my previous posts in this topic. What I'm trying to say is that I didn't write this topic when I had 600 merits and when I was already a Sr. Member, but when I had "only" 201 merits, being a Full Member who earned those 201 merits in only 3 months at that time.

They is a saying that the higher a monkey climbs a tree the more he expose his anus You don't care anymore for others that are finding it difficult while it's easy for to rank.

Actually I do care for others, this is why I also started a merit giveaway topic in the Romanian board, this being also the first merit giveaway from this section of the forum. Regarding the easiness to rank: ranking up is as easy as you make it. If you contribute a lot, your efforts will be appreciated. If you think your efforts are not appreciated, you can also try LoyceV's topic Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. If even this try won't bring you recognition, it means that your post is actually of no use.

Finally, regarding your saying - insulting will certainly not bring you recognition lol. Actually, as far as I know, nullius is the only one here who managed ever to receive merits after insulting someone, this being also a 50-merits bomb from the insulted person Smiley But I doubt you would achieve something similar with insults.
3996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not doing well in Alexa rank because of the Merit system on: May 19, 2020, 01:49:22 PM
some threads scare new visitors away, just like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5220580.0

Looool, I didn't expect to see my topic mentioned here. So I'm the reason why the forum scares the visitors and also for being low ranked on Alexa, right? My, oh my, what have I done Huh Well this must be indeed an allegation based on pure logic.

what is the actual aim of making the merit system very hard for users? This will scare some away and those who are not good at writing, it means they don't belong here?

An internet forum where people come to learn and share information on bitcoin is not just a personal forum for some users that have a good rank to suggest how difficult the forum will be. Also, it is clear that most threads from the newbies are not given much attention because of how they structured their article.

On October 25th 2019 I was a Newbie, with a few posts and 0 merits. I earned 600 merits in about 6 months and a few days starting literally from zero. If you share valuable information, your content will be appreciated. The condition is to post indeed valuable information. If you want just to spam: heheee the way is infinite. I saw a member a while ago who had 6000 posts and 0 merits. There are a lot of members supporting newbies which are posting high quality texts / essays, or at least which try to post something valuable. Nobody would expect you to post like a Bitcoin expert while you are a beginner, but at least you can try to share coherent thoughts. And to use an adequate English, not perfect but adequate - meaning to not sound like a caveman.

The forum is now difficult not only for newbies but for investors who came as newbies and left because they couldn't understand the forum better. I like this section "beginners and guide" but I didn't discover it as a newbie.

I repeat: I was a newbie too. And honestly, I did not know a single thing about activity, merits, the correlation between them default trust, Marketplace trust, feedbacks, flags, merit sources, signature restrictions, PMs / posts restrictions for each rank, evil IPs / points, copper memberships and so on. But I searched on Google. For example: "what is merit BitcoinTalk" / "what is activity bitcointalk". And, eventually, I found the correct topic answering my question. What is important is that I really wanted to learn how the forum works and not to be here for spamming it or for using it in various obscure ways. If you want to learn how the forum works, you can really do it.

I will say that this forum is easy if you have worked hard on it and it's part of you, But very difficult for freshers because of how old members treat them with merit.

I already answered that.

How do you expect better learning if they are no fun going on here?

The forum wasn't built for fun reasons. If you need fun, you can watch standup comedy on YouTube. However, you can find plenty of humor here, in a lot of topics and from a lot of members.

looking at the rank of this site do you think Satoshi will be happy? We can build a forum as famous as bitcoin.

Similar to previous answer: the forum wasn't built to rank up on Alexa, as Bitcoin wasn't created to be valued to 10.000$. The forum was created for Bitcoin-related discussion, for improving it, for spotting bugs in the code and so on, while Bitcoin was not meant to be listed on exchanges nor to reach a certain amount in USD - it was invented for eliberating people from the oppression of the governs, by giving them the absolute power over their finances and by offering them anonymity pseudonimity.

I hope this helps.

Quote
We take one wallet every 48 hours (we do not take more wallets in the 48-hour interval)

Or, upload by email 2 copy bloody passport or id and an invoice from utilities (your name and address must appear) and one copy with id in your right hand and with you (to show your face and the identity card clear and visible)
You have to agree, post and announce (bitcointalk.org) you have contacted our services (this happens after 24 hours after I took your case)

Don't worry @mocacinno, you are on good hands. Let me explain.

Let's start with the origins if his name. In Romania there is a guy - Becali - who owns now the football club FCSB, known previously as Steaua Bucharest - the winner of European Cup in 1986 (the predecessor of the actual Champions League). Becali stole the club from the army and now is being sued for using the club, the name and the mark without consent. That's why Steaua Bucharest changed its name to FCSB. Practically, Becali is a sort of CSW - Romanian version Smiley This is his picture from his resume:

I found this topic only by chance, being curious how is doing bekli23, our fellow romanian.

Bekli23, which is a short from Becali23 (he used k instead of ca) is either a huge fan of Becali and of his stealing methods or is Becali himself.

Now getting back to his activity inside the forum: he started the same topic in Romanian board on November 23, 2018: Decriptare parole bitcoin-qt client(Proiect). Meaning "Decripting bitcoin-qt client passwords(Project)". Most likely, after decripting all the Romanian wallets, he is now helping also the international community - a very nice gesture.

So after previously working with Nick Szabo at Bit Gold, with Dr. Chaum at eCash, with Adam Back at HashCash, with Wei Dai at b-money and finally with Satoshi at Bitcoin, now bekli23 is working on the reverse engineering: finding passwords of Bitcoin wallets.

Here is a rare picture of bekli at work, cracking a sunflower seed seed:

That being said, you can fully trust him. If NeuroticFish's words were not enough for you

OP is 100% correct. The only problem is that we just simply cannot live that long. Nor our sun, I've been told.
Good luck though.

Then I hope my words will grant for bekli. And about my fellow Romanian NeuroticFish's words: I'm sorry for you, mocacinno, if your life span is that short Smiley bekli will come with the passwords, as he promised. If you won't be around here, he can pass them to your successors. He lives billions of years, eons, and has enough time to crack all wallets passwords Smiley Just give him enough time.
