Thank you for including me on this list, @Ratimov. I just wanted to let you know that I have achieved Hero Member status now.
Another member from the list, casperBGD, also reached Hero rank today.

From what I can tell, you haven't posted anything substantial on this forum. Why do you think you deserve a merit?

Interesting match! Italy is still not able to realize the moments, but I think that in the second half they will be able to make a successful counterattack! Spain also had a few chances, but their game is not impressive... If in the beginning of the half they played in attack, in the end Italy pressed them...
Well, Spain's coach Enrique did say yesterday "we are leaders in ball possession"... Italy have waited 45 minutes for their first shot at goal. In all, it has been a good match so far, but the Italians have not yet shown the same level of play as we've seen in previous matches. I expect there will be significant changes in the second half.

[op.a.] I ja se nadam da će ovakvih primjera biti sve više, pogotovo uzimajući u obzir mlade generacije dužnosnika koji dolaze na funkcije.

A list of more linked accounts of the already known bounty cheater and ban evader. 1. Doge112. Tron11 (Archived)3. Man22 (Archived)4. bluerich230No surprise there, after getting all of his older accounts banned, he just created couple of new ones and continued with business as usual. After those four accounts that you reported get banned too, he will just make new ones in a rinse and repeat manner. It may seem futile and some sort of whack-a-mole game, but at least we made his bounty business a little bit more complicated. Yes, this looks like a whack-a-mole game, but I've tagged all the active accounts anyway. Like you said, to at least make his bounty business a little more challenging. As far as I can see, these accounts are still active: Obi22, Ton11, Doge11, Moon1010, bluerich230

Congrats, buddy. May the merit force be with you! Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Yeah, I'm a bit of a movie buff.

He used the term "repurpose". I believe he checks the database of already deleted posts (posts deleted at one point in the past) and just reallocates the message ID of a matching post to a different forum member. It looks like it This is going to mess up some of the forum scraping. Your new msgID was originally created by skillscreating. Posts are deleted for a reason, storing their content would seem redundant. All posts are essentially records in the database, so removing a post also deletes its record from the database. As far as I know the forum keeps all deleted posts, all edits made (after at least 10 minutes), and only Admins have access to this data. Really? I didn't know that. Damn, that must be one hell of a database. I can see how reallocating the message IDs presents problems for scraping forum posts. Good luck with dealing with that mess. However, theymos' solution is quite elegant for this situation. I can't think of any simpler way to do this.

Posts are ordered in threads by message ID. What we do in these cases is that we repurpose the ID of a deleted post which lies in the appropriate range.
Does this mean that you do not keep track of the content of deleted posts? If not, that sounds risky. What did you do with the database entry for the old post? Posts are deleted for a reason, storing their content would seem redundant. All posts are essentially records in the database, so removing a post also deletes its record from the database. I think you're confusing deleting posts with archiving (threads) which is kind of like sending it to trash.

Hi @Hhampuz, I just ranked up to Hero Member status. I've already updated my signature, but I'm fine with Sr. Member rate until there are some Hero spots available. Thanks.

In the future, if you were to run a node you might actually need equipment, which gets rarer, and rarer as time progresses, simply because the industry might cater to the general consumer, which could take a more commercially hosted application approach.
No, I don't believe that's true. It is hard to predict the direction in which technologies will develop in the future. But, even with the current technology, we are good for the next 10 to 20 years.
|
|
|
What happens to the folks wanting to run a full-node in 20+ years when downloading the entire blockchain takes months and months to complete?
The size of the Bitcoin blockchain is increasing by linear progression (about 100GB every two years), while technological advancements in the IT industry continue to grow exponentially. For example, a decade ago, most personal computers had disks drives with a capacity of 320GB or 500GB. Nowadays, most new PCs come with drives that hold 2TB or even 4TB. In fact, storage capacity is doubling every few years and data transfer speeds are increasing even more rapidly. https://www.statista.com/statistics/647523/worldwide-bitcoin-blockchain-size/So, unless the rate at which new blocks are generated dramatically changes, there is no concern that blockchain data will surpass the limits of technological advancement in the foreseeable future.

But that is not the only function of money, money has another function and that is to be a store of value, look at gold, thousands of years ago you could by a lot of products with it and now you can do the same, this is a great store of value, bitcoin needs to perform this function as well and despite its volatility it seems it is on its way to achieve this, so while it is completely fine to spend bitcoin as that is one of its functions holding your bitcoin does not go against this as it is just another of the functions that money needs to serve.
Yes, I agree, but here we are talking about bitcoin's use for gambling, which is, in my opinion, one of bitcoin's first applications. And a very significant one in my opinion. The first crypto casinos appeared shortly after the first faucets, back when bitcoin barely had any value.

For flash content, it is better to use Chromium-based browsers but the lag was on the end of the website, in my opinion. Called ISP and they checked the connection, they didn't find a problem. Tried to change browsers and few hours later everything was solved.
I think you're mistaken. There is almost no flash content on the website anymore. The only place you might find it is on obsolete, no longer updated websites. As of 2021, Adobe has ended support for the Flash Player plugin. Flash content, including audio and video, will no longer play back in any version of Chrome. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6258784As for the animations in slots games, they are all HTML5-based.

No such thing as lucky day, remember that gambling is all math, statistics and probability, we just don't know how to explain it to ourselves that's why we call it luck. Of course anything that is likely to make you lose money is going to hurt you in the long run, I think there's no exceptions to that.
Obviously, some believe in luck, some believe in a higher power, God or a deity, but my point is, if everyone only thought strictly about math and probabilities, no one would never gamble. You cannot deny that sometimes in life you get 'surprises.' After all, the odds are a totally mathematical number, while randomness or luck is an unseen element. It is random and it happens. The odds do not affect the outcome of the bet; they only serve to predict the probability of success.

For me personally, the ATMs are one thing: a great advertising tool to make Bitcoin known to the normal population, but nothing more.
I suppose I could see Bitcoin getting further to "the people" by having more ATMs offer it as a "convenience" for users, and getting a wider audience. That might help further its adoption. The reality is that there are still many businesses and shops that don't accept anything else but cash. Food markets are the prime example. Even credit cards aren't always practical, so people have to carry cash with them. There will always be a need for ATMs as long as cash is in circulation and money doesn't become completely digital. I think there will come a time when all ATMs include a crypto exchange.
