3981  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-23] Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk Again Moves Crypto Prices on: July 28, 2021, 10:56:42 AM
Why are you guys so negative? Elon Musk could have said something very bad about Bitcoin and it could have tanked even further. He said .."Bitcoin has potential" and that they are still invested in Bitcoin (SpaceX) and it definitely had a positive affect on the market.

Someone should really educate him on the "Lightning Network" and how that solved the "transaction speed" issue, because he obviously has not seen it or used it. Cmon, guys..... he was the pioneer in Paypal ffs..... he knows what he is talking about.  Roll Eyes
3982  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is growing, great, however it's still extremely cheap! U need diamond hands! on: July 28, 2021, 09:39:40 AM
You say... "the whales are still lurking in the deep waters" ....but I beg to differ, because these guys are Orca's!!... they are calculated killers that are working in a pod together to kill of the competition and all the small fish and even members of their own pod.

Let's not forget how these Orca's colluded together to trap one of their own and then triggered a massive sell off that brought us to where we are now. (From $60k to $30k in a few weeks)  Angry

We need to have diamond hands to keep the coins out of the Orca's jaws ... because that gives them power!
3983  Economy / Economics / Re: Will some companies like Amazon really 'store' Bitcoins? on: July 27, 2021, 07:01:03 PM
I think a lot of these big companies are just "following" the Money..... they are tapping into a new income source..because they know that there a millions of bitcoins being hoarded by people that are not really using it for anything else..other than gambling and the odd transaction to buy food and drinks.  Wink

They will in all probability use a Payment Processor and then instruct the payment processor to convert payment back into Fiat currencies, before it goes out onto their platform. (Payment processors will "legitimize" transactions, because they strip anonymity for all users that use their platform)  Roll Eyes
3984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 27, 2021, 04:15:50 PM
How controversial will it be if ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) won the 2021 Olympics.  Roll Eyes  The ROC won the Gold medal for "Women's Artistic Gymnastics" today... so countries like the USA and the UK got Silver and Bronze. Also, these countries might be close to the winner of the Olympics and they might have even won.. if Russia did not compete in the Olympics.

The bookmakers should actually "ignore" the ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) position on the podium in all the events where they are participating and just give it to the Silver & Bronze positions. (shifting them a position up on the podium)

Do you think it is fair for a banned country to participate as individuals to bypass the ban?

3985  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Watford FC Main Partner - UFC Betting Partner - $1M Race II ⚽ 🥊 on: July 27, 2021, 01:16:30 PM
Do you guys think it is fair that a banned country can still send people from that country to participate in the Olympics? If you have not noticed... Russian individuals are competing under the abbreviation ROC  (Russian Olympic Committee) but Russia was banned from the Olympics .. because of its doping scandal.  Roll Eyes

It will only be fair if betting on Stake are only approved for countries that legitimately participate in the Games? The ROC just won the Gold medal for "Women's Artistic Gymnastics" and if Russia was banned .. the USA would have taken Gold.  Sad
3986  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Pegasus & phone wallets on: July 27, 2021, 08:21:47 AM
Now that the "Pegasus spyware" are revealed to the public, people will be more vigilant on what they store on their phones. If you just dump a small amount of Crypto on your mobile wallet to buy something to eat or drink .. you will not be targeted.  Wink

The Anti-virus companies will also look at methods to detect "Pegasus spyware" and to block or remove it from people's phones. If they do not do that, people will not trust them to secure their mobile devices.  Wink
3987  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How many working hours does it need to code something like bitcoin from scratch? on: July 26, 2021, 07:21:54 PM
People said Satoshi Nakamoto's first code that was submitted.... was very sloppy. I do not know if he quickly threw a bunch of things together to create it or given more time... he would have made it more presentable. I think Satoshi provided the bones for the skeleton project and he coded it in a way that it could be used.

Other people submitted a more "fleshy" body to the bones to make it more presentable and they added more streamline code that made the body into a Olympic Athlete.

So if someone wanted to re-create it from the start... they should not aim for an Olympic athlete.... but rather a skeleton project of a bunch of ideas. (A team with different skill sets and knowledge.. will probably do this a lot quicker .. than one person)  Wink
3988  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hello does anyone knows how reedem casascius Bitcoin? on: July 26, 2021, 02:49:17 PM
For some reason, adding a prefix before a mini-private key will disable the "next" or "sweep" in Electrum's import or sweep private key.
When you want to sweep or import a mini private key, Electrum will convert it to a Full-size private key and generate a "p2pkh" address from it by default.
https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/07219cc4c6435011afacda546f652cea91d98cd4/electrum/bitcoin.py#L666

One of the conditions for Electrum to recognize a private key as a valid mini key is that its first character must be an "S". If you add p2pkh in front of it the "text[0] == 'S'" condition will fail and the next button will remain disabled.

Can you explain the difference between the Mini Private key and the Full-size Private key? Is this something like a URL shortener where you make it easier for people to remember the Private Key?

I have swept many Private keys into Electrum from my Paper wallets, but I have never seen this before. OP ..thank you for posting this, I learn something new every day.  Wink
3989  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon will accept Bitcoin payment this year on: July 26, 2021, 10:11:04 AM
Well, I hope the demand for bitcoins as a payment option, will be higher than the hoarders selling coins to buy sh1t on Amazon. It will be good if Amazon could offer some kind of promotional incentive, like a 10% discount for people paying with Bitcoin at the start of the implementation.. so that people will have a reason to use it.  Wink

Also, if Amazon is going to do this through a Payment processor .... then it will have zero impact.. because Payment processors simply convert all payments into Fiat.  Roll Eyes
3990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The attack is 51%. The Bitcoin killer. on: July 26, 2021, 08:21:21 AM
The real threat come in when 51% of people in this world do not understand what a "51% attack" is and they post misinformation like this on a public forum. Luckily for us, more than 51% of the people in the Bitcoin community know what it is and some of us even experienced a close call, when the GHash.io mining Pool nearly acquired 51% of the hashing power.

We also know shills love to talk about "51% Attack" as if it is a huge threat to Bitcoin, but we just smile at those posts and we go on with our lives, because we know the facts.  Wink   (Done that.... got the T-Shirt.... )  Cheesy

Facts : To sustain a 51% Attack is VERY expensive and definitely not profitable and if governments target 1 Crypto with that, then we just shift to the next Crypto and laugh all the way to the Bank.  Grin  (Tax money can only be wasted for a while, before the tax payer and voter starts to riot and not vote for that government)
3991  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind type of market player you are? on: July 25, 2021, 09:17:41 PM
Robert kiyosaki said on his youtube channel (The Rich Dad Channel)

"this is real financial education, what they don't teach you in school...so there's three kinds of people in the world when it comes to money, there's an investor, a trader, and a speculator"

- INVESTOR = an investor puts capital to use for long-term profit.
- TRADER = a trader seeks to make short-term profits by buying and selling over and over again.
- SPECULATOR = a speculator just gambles and hopes that other parties will dare to pay higher his/her tokens or coins later.

i'm an investor, not very trading savvy, just buy Bitcoin and some Altcoins for long-term.  How about you friend?

Robert kiyosaki also had a rich dad and a poor dad... and his poor dad was a hard working employer with a Pension Fund. The problem is, his poor dad never acquired the skills and knowledge to be an investor or a trader or a speculator. His rich dad on the other hand, acquired the knowledge and he was very successful when he applied it.

Traditional investing back then had a lot of barriers to entry for the unskilled, because the rich wanted to stay rich to hold onto the power. Now, with Crypto currencies..... ANYONE can still have their day job and also be an investor or a trader or a speculator ..or all three.  Wink
3992  Economy / Economics / Re: New Jersey Pension Invested $7M in Bitcoin Mining on: July 25, 2021, 06:29:40 PM
A responsible fund administrator will only invest a small percentage of the whole Pension Fund into High Risk investments, but nowhere are there mention made of what percentage are invested of the whole fund. If it is say... 2% of the fund, then I will not say it is reckless to do this... but if this is higher than that... then I will be worried as a member of that Pension Fund.

Crypto currencies are a High risk investment and it can give high yields over the long-term or it can completely collapse if it is one of the Pump and Dump Alt coins.  Angry
3993  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying BTC from KYC exchange on: July 25, 2021, 12:10:26 PM
Yea, I have always said..... the real "flaw" in Crypto currencies are the "need" for people to convert back and forth between Fiat and Crypto and visa versa on Exchanges. Exchanges could care less about your Pseudo anonymity, because they are only focused on their profits from your transactions.

When I started out with Bitcoin, we had to do person to person trading behind McDonalds where they do not have CCTV cameras. (Yes, it was illegal back then, so we did not trust 3rd party services and we had to take big risks to buy it from verified "contacts". Now, with verified contacts, I mean... people who knew people ...who traded with those people before.)  The authorities set traps for those traders, so you had to watch out for them and also robbers and scammers.  Sad
3994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: July 25, 2021, 10:49:00 AM
If large companies was held responsible for their activities and the products they provide... then companies like Coca~Cola and McDonald's would have been bankrupt. Also, big pharmaceutical companies would have to close their doors, because these companies pump several toxic drugs onto the markets and they bribe doctors to hide the adverse reactions to these drugs. ( http://www.pmlive.com/pharma_news/pfizer_fined_$60m_for_bribing_doctors_to_win_business_417954 )

The casinos offer responsible gaming and you as a individual must make the decision to STOP gambling, if you are becoming addicted to it.... they provide self exclusion and some even provide assistance if you show signs of addiction.
3995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will everyone still believe in Elon Musk? on: July 24, 2021, 09:34:55 PM
Elon Musk knows more than the "average" person about Payment systems, because he founded an online financial services company, called X.com.... which later became the global payment company called PayPal. So he can give good advice and also criticism about Bitcoin as a payment (currency) option.

He also has several "Green" solutions to make Bitcoin more environmental friendly and sustainable... which was been a talking point for years. (Most FUD creators jump on the "Bitcoin is bad for the environment" bandwagon and also mainstream media that are shills for the Fiat masters)  Angry
3996  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Million Dollar Race II - UFC Betting Partner - Play Smarter on: July 24, 2021, 02:53:24 PM
Olympic games won't be much preferred by gamblers. Most of the games like football, badminton, volleyball and similar games might get priority among the gamblers in the Olympic Schedule. When it comes to athlete and other sports it is tedious to select right odds.

It may not be as popular because it is only around once every couple years for a short period.  I'm willing to bet on anything entertaining enough for me to sit and watch though.  I know I'll be trying to catch a few games from the USA Basketball team and I'll probably need some sort of added incentive to keep my eyes open though international play.  Gambling tends to give me this incentive sometimes (not always) to pay attention and stay focused on the game.

I cannot keep my eyes off Women Gymnastics and Women's Volleyball and swimming... so I will be glued to the TV for the next couple of weeks if Stake added betting on those Sports.  Grin (jokes)

I think the team events like 7's Rugby and Soccer are more suitable for gambling purposes, because the disqualification of people in individual events are more likely. (Or if someone gets Covid or if they are sick)  Wink
3997  Economy / Economics / Re: What event could trigger new bull run and ATHs? on: July 24, 2021, 12:28:30 PM
Well, what we need is some countries making some positive announcements that they will accept Bitcoin as a "Currency" and not just allow it to be a "Commodity" ..... We saw what happened in China when they started to ban Bitcoin mining.... now imagine if they said that they will allow Bitcoin as a payment/currency.  Wink

The acceptance of Bitcoin as a currency will have a trigger action on large Merchants... because they base their decisions on what the government regulations stipulate. (Some are using a backdoor method... by accepting Crypto through payment processors)
3998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you accept hackers’ Bitcoin donations to charitable organizations? on: July 24, 2021, 11:46:38 AM
Any Crypto hacker that is actually good, will never send coins stolen (directly) from the source to the charity.... they push those coins through Mixer services so that it cannot be traced to a specific hack. The reason for doing this is simple... if they send it directly from the source to the charity... the authorities with enough knowledge to track transactions on the Blockchain, will be able to track it and then confiscate it.

Also, if the hacker is sending it to a charity and it can be traced to him (Example : Donation for a local school basketball tour...) then he will quickly be pinpointed for that hack by a simple process of elimination.  Wink
3999  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitRoul.com the only Roulette with no Zero and a solid Provably Fair feature on: July 24, 2021, 07:57:12 AM
answer to the yahoo 62278 stress test :

As it was already declared ,so far  we have not settled any maximum bet size .
you put the finger where its painful .
The big size of your bets is the source of the issues .
The pay out is capped , before next version that will integrate the management of the maximum bet size .
anyway , even in this circumstance  if you can show that you made the bet , you will be paid accordingly to the general rules of roulette payment that will be added in the Terms and Conditions very soon .

Is this capped for now, because you do not have the money to pay such bets if they win or is this just a "bug" that needs fixing? I know some small sites do this to build up the house to cover "winning streaks" or big Jackpots... right?

In any way, the site is still in beta version.. so you would expect that it will only be a skeleton version of the end product. Looking forward to see the final product in the future.... added it to my favorites under the "under development" directory.  Wink
4000  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Crypto-Gambling.Net 🔥 Crypto Casino Reviews By A Real Insider ✅ on: July 23, 2021, 07:40:13 PM
I have read through some of the reviews of the sites where I play ...and I can see that you did your research and you know your trade. I am looking forward to the "insider" information section, because I am very interested on how sites like these work.

Some things I would like you to add to that section is detailed information on how online casinos partner with third party providers. (How much does it cost to host 3rd party games and who is paying the casino when people win huge Jackpots?   -- Money goes from 3rd party to casino and then to the player or does the casino cover all wins from their profits?)

Thank you for some very good reviews.  Wink
