Sweetstar has submitted this post about the Mexican local elections.
https://fittotalk.com/english-talk/index.php?topic=241

We will discuss this post, and possibly add a few more points before bringing it to Bitcoin Talk for further discussion here. I'm being a bit selfish, because this is the type of discussion that interests me. Hopefully there are other members here who will also enjoy finding out about the political changes around the world.

Just the fact that it is owned by Google means that you are probably correct.

I was thinking of it as a convenient communication medium where privacy wasn't an issue.

I wondered why I didn't visit off topic, and now I know. Smiley

I gave my Chromebook to my partner.

I'm considering installing Kali at the moment. Android on a netbook would be an interesting concept, but not under an emulator.

If I could use a cellnet connection, and link to another computer without using the Internet, then that would be great.

We have like what 1000 good posters or less, realistically.  I don't really understand what you're trying to accomplish here, but you could be spending your time in much important things.

A community of 1,000 intelligent and articulate members is a valuable asset. If you also consider that there is a fairly wide global distribution, and that most of the members are sceptical of the current structure of governance and banking, then that is a very unusual community.

I am aware of the vice like control that the US and English elite has over the western world. The EU is just a tool they created. A great deal is changing and the nationalist/populist movement is evidence of this, The elite are countering this with their eugenics plan. An obvious part of this is the vaccination initiative driven by Bill and Melinda Gates. There are many global experiments and test projects that have been activated around the world, and it is my belief that Bitcoin is one of these. It is important to understand the impact and interaction of current political changes, and to try to plan for the maintenance of a comfortable and healthy life in the future. If I can generate a few good discussions about economic and political conditions in a variety of countries that are being used for these experiments, then it will be a great help to me, and some of the other members here who are prepared to consider the realities of modern life. I had hoped to create such a thread about El Petro, but Venezuelans seem reluctant to discuss it.
3988  Other / Meta / Re: Where to run a spam free bounty campaign? [new board?] on: October 12, 2018, 01:56:35 PM
The problem seems to be caused by the constant bumping of threads by spammers.

Would a board that only allowed closed threads to be posted solve the problem? The post could contain a link to an active thread on the spammers' board, and, because of the link, it wouldn't really matter if it dropped to page 5.

The other alternative would be to use a line in your signature to provide that link.

I've just watched this video about running Android on a desktop computer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IUi-fnDaaw

It talks about 7 different ways to run your desktop computer as an Android device. I didn't realise that this option was as popular as it appears to be, This raises the possibility that Android could become another alternative to the often despised Windows.

The Android development company was bought by Google in 2005, so the real question could well be - Is Google prepared to allow this to become a real desktop operating system with mobile integration?
3990  Other / Politics & Society / Should the US be spending money on this B-2 stealth bomber? on: October 12, 2018, 12:46:22 PM

Developing it was probaly a great revenue earner for the defence contractors, but wouldn't it have been better to spend the money on improving the domestic infrastructure in the US, and in encouraging the purchase of US manufactured products.

I've always thought that the real threat to the US in a war with China, would come from the sleepers in the Chinese communities that are in every city in the US.
3991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many beginners make money trading in Bitcoin? on: October 12, 2018, 12:25:56 PM
it doesn't take much to learn how to study the market and check out for trending signs

I don't believe that the normal statistical signs work for Bitcoin, especially during periods of low volume. It is too easy for major investors to create false flags. More important signals are things such as the fact that Harvard has now lined Yale in buying in cryptos for its investment funds. However, that is a medium term signal, and not a short term indicator.
3992  Economy / Economics / Re: Beginning of the end for the stockmarket on: October 12, 2018, 11:23:02 AM
Stock markets are no longer used for startups or expansion. They are now used by the founders and initial investors to withraw their capital. Zero interest rates, and the removal of restrictions on share buybacks. mean that a company can borrow money to buy its own shares. This inflates the share price, and it loads the comany with debt, but it allows the directors to sell their shares and increase their personal wealth without consideration of the future of the comany. We are starting to see the company failures as a result of this, and it will lead to a massive drop in share prices as the fear sets in once investors realise the problem.

The greatest concern is the impact this will have on pensions in the future.
3993  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unexplained wealth order on: October 12, 2018, 10:43:13 AM
Since the 1970s, wealth transfer and confiscation has been a major consideration for most governments. They do it with zero interest rates, debt fraud, fractional reserve banking, and market manipulation amongst other tricks. Destroying the immune systems of most of the population, and forcing them to pay for "medication" that causes further destruction is another method. It wouldn't surprise me if they introduced some more direct methods to confiscate wealth.
3994  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit - Why do they call a second referendum a "people's vote" on: October 12, 2018, 10:33:02 AM
The core of the question is though, if now the majority votes for not leaving how can you deny their choice?

Technically we have already left, as we triggered an irrerversible leaving process. We can extend the "transition" period to allow furher disposal and theft of national assets by the Eton/Oxford banking elite. Alternatively, we can apply to rejoin the bankrupt EU. There wouldn't be any pont though, as the Elite are already working on the replacements for the EU - eEstonia, The Saudi community, The new British UnCommonwealth, and some Asian projects for example. They need to get rid of a load more of the world population first though. If you don't belive me, then reflect on these facts.

A Harvard University has stated that coconut oil is poison following some research funded by a corn oil manufacturer. Coconut oil is now considered to be the healthiest cooking oil because of a variety of its properties.Corn oil ranks with Soya as possibly the unhealthiest cooking oil.

Harvard and the Sorbonne are closely linked with the Eton/Oxford group - remember Clinton was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford.

Your first challenge is to read the threads here, and to see if anyone has already issued such a challenge.
3996  Other / Meta / Re: I'm thinking of running a topic starting contest for non-english speakers. on: October 12, 2018, 09:06:13 AM
I wonder if it would be better to open things up for all ranks, and to include English speakers.  At a personal level, I'm interested in the political actions that receive little publicity, and have opinions or facts added by Bitcoin Talk members.

Here is an example.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnZZixKl584

That video describes a giant mosquito that was developed by a company started by Oxford University in 2002, and these mosquitos have been released in north Carolina following the devestation resulting from the recent hurricane. Discussing items like this helps us to understand the dramatic social and economic changes that are going on at the moment.

I'll PM Flying Hellfish a bit later today or tomorrow, and see what he feels about such a contest on the political board.
3997  Other / Meta / Re: I'm thinking of running a topic starting contest for non-english speakers. on: October 12, 2018, 08:21:21 AM
I think it is high.

That was my first thought, especially as the post will have already gained 5 merits for being accepted. Also, as was shown by the Dr Gomez post, other members award merits as well, so the highlighted thread becomes a bit of a merit honey pot.

Another option I considered was to guarantee a minimum of 25 for the winner. That would mean adding 20 if no other member awards a merit. That seemed counter productive though, as a really good thread starter shoud receive more merits, and the bonus would be less in that case. Don't forget that 10 merits may be a lot for a newbie for ranking, but it's only 1% of the legendary requirement.
3998  Other / Meta / Re: I'm thinking of running a topic starting contest for non-english speakers. on: October 12, 2018, 08:03:28 AM
I'd like to restart this project fairly soon, and I'm not sure if beginners or political is the best place to make the thread.

What do you guys think about the 25 merit bonus for the best thread starter? Do you think it is too high?
3999  Other / Meta / Re: Inaccurate Merit Reflection on: October 12, 2018, 07:44:53 AM
Why do newbies feel they have to use oversized text, coloured text or disruptive formatting. It makes it harder to speed read, and just gets your post skipped, or you put on ignore.

4000  Other / Meta / Re: Merit for ranking is a great a idea to sanitize the forum on: October 12, 2018, 07:40:50 AM
Newbies need to understand it and make worthwhile posts. You only get worth you deserve.

Merit was created as a barrier to upranking, and your comment is true, and it is advice your should have taken.

I think you deserve to be placed on ignore for creating polluting threads such as this.
