3981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will another altcoin rise to overtaken Bitcoin? on: May 24, 2020, 12:52:24 PM
It will never happen, because even now the newly created altcoins are fundamentally very similar to Bitcoin, which was invented more than a decade ago. The technology behind cryptocurrency has seen very little progress, despite all these passing years. And unless we witness the emergence of a cryptocurrency which is different and superior to Bitcoin, none of the alts will be able to challenge BTC.
3982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Corona virus (COVID19) Effect in Cryptocurrency Gambling on: May 24, 2020, 12:46:19 PM
Online businesses such as gambling will definitely have a huge impact in revenue because people will be unable to use money and to go outside cause they might get infected or be transmitted with the virus using tangible paper money even discover Cryptocurrencies and how it is excellent in terms of speed and security.

Nope.. from what I have seen, till now cryptocurrency has got very little benefit from the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. I would say that the overall impact has been negative. Exchange rates have gone down during the last couple of months, despite the block reward halving which kicked in just a few days ago. This is perhaps the first time that the market didn't got any boost from the block reward halving event.
3983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: May 24, 2020, 12:40:10 PM
Normally I used to avoid Coingecko. But today when I visited (after a gap of many months), I found that they had made the site more user friendly. For me, it is easier to get the necessary data now. I am still using Coinmarketcap as my primary source, but I am using Coingecko along with that. And don't forget that Coingecko lists a larger number of coins/tokens when compared to CMC.

Hopefully we have very long list of cricketers invested in bitcoin as its good for them and their activities Cheesy Wink

I don't know investment is bitcoin is good for the cricketers or not. For sure, the match fixing takes place in bitcoins and other crypto currencies so there are no traces of transactions found for illegal money transfers.
I am sure every cricketers and politicians have their hidden crypto accounts.

How can you say this? Match fixing was at its peak during the 1990s, when the Sharjah Cup was being held and Mohammed Azharuddin was the Indian captain. Back then there were no Bitcoins. Bitcoin was invented at least a decade later. And nowadays, match fixing is extremely rare. Player salaries have increased by a great deal, and for them it is not worth the risk to get involved in fixing the matches.
3985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 10 alts under $0.10 that can go 100x on: May 24, 2020, 12:28:12 PM
I have seen similar threads quite a few times here. I don't know why everyone is focusing on the unit price, when market capitalization gives a much better measurement. For example, XRP is having an unit price of $0.19, but its market cap is $9 billion. Therefore the potential returns can be low. On the other hand, ZEC as one of the more promising coins. It is having an unit price of $47 per coin, but a market cap of only $430 million.
3986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 24, 2020, 12:22:13 PM
Despite the bad polls, Trump is still everyone's favorite, I don't know what kind of honey they found in Trump. I've been watching from the beginning the ruling party has always been ignored the pulling trend for presidential election. You can see that Donald Trump is standing at 2.10 where Joe Biden has managed to achieve 2.34. According to a survey by "RealClearPolitics", Biden is ahead by 5.1% on pool. Now it is a matter to be seen how neutral and fair the actual election will be!

If Trump is ahead, that's because of two reasons. First of all, in 2016 almost all of the polls under-estimated his support. And that too by a large margin. And secondly, the outcome of the US election is entirely dependent on the results from less than 10 states (out of a total of 50). The remaining states are either deep-blue or deep-red, where no one is going to campaign.
3987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: May 24, 2020, 12:16:17 PM
What happened in 2017 is never going to repeat again, if that is what you are asking. Back then, there were bounties that gave rewards of up to $3,000 for each of the participants. But those days are long gone. Nowadays, you can consider yourself lucky even if you get a payment of $5 after toiling for three months. There are too few campaigns and too many bounty hunters.
3988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 24, 2020, 12:10:55 PM
-I am against Younger players getting into foreign leagues, IPL is more than enough for them to show their talent and Keep them busy with the 4 day cricket strictly be in Ranji/counties/ Shield.

I don't agree with this argument. We have 8 IPL teams, and 7 slots out of the total of 11 in the playing XI are reserved for Indian nationals. That means that on average, IPL gives opportunity to 50-60 Indian players. What about the others? There is a huge amount of competition for the available slots, and I have seen promising players missing out because of the dominance of senior players.
3989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 22, 2020, 01:34:35 PM
Biden is an awful candidate.

He is awful for few reasons:

1. He is old.

2. His son is corrupt (it's funny, because in our country, Ukraine, you can;t do any business without a bribe, so, if you want to deal with Ukraine, you need to bribe) and because all this scandal in Ukraine it will be hard to Biden get out of this. It's a trump card for Trump  Cheesy

3. He is democrat, but as i know, major part of americans want from president another promises, than promise to feed all Mexicans.

I am not going to deny any of these points, especially #1 and #2. The last one is purely a political point, and it is open to interpretation according to the voter ideology.

The point that I made earlier was that Biden is the most suitable candidate among the dozen or so potential nominees we had during the Democrat primary elections. He is a much better candidate when compared to far-leftists such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, and he'll be able to attract a broad spectrum of support when compared to Kamala Harris or Julián Castro.

And that said, I can't recall any international cricketer ever hinting his interest in cryptocurrency.
I remember Michael clarke was shilling some ICO once  Grin

Quick google: https://wwos.nine.com.au/cricket/cricket-michael-clarke-cryptocurrency-investment-folds/0bfd536b-123b-4fe5-a748-1fc2259e2a5f

Wow... this is new information for me. Never read about this before. But still, I am sad that the project failed. Now before promoting any other cryptocurrency project, Clarke may think twice. The project failed for no fault of his, but I am sure that he would have received his share of the blame. It is always easy to make someone scapegoat, especially if he is a well known figure.
3991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 22, 2020, 01:20:47 PM
^^^^ I agree with the Hyderabad part. The outbreak there is under control, and new cases are being reported only from containment zones. But then, there is a risk factor. A lot of people from that city works in GCC nations such as Saudi Arabia. Expats are being brought back to their hometowns, and large number of cases are being reported from this group.

Staging the T20 World Cup in Australia may also involve similar risks. But I guess the risk can be brought under control, if they take strict precautions and play the matches with no crowd.
3992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is safer, USDT or Binance USD? on: May 21, 2020, 01:12:22 PM
Personally I don't completely trust any of these stablecoins. No one should trust them 100%, because you are not the owner of wealth, in case of stablecoins. Someone else is storing them for you. That said, I would say that Binance USD is a bit better than USDT. Binance is having a good reputation, at least when compared to Bitfinex and their version of the stablecoin.

I am not sure whether this incident puts Bitcoin in positive light or not. Already in India, a lot of people believe that Bitcoin is a currency that is primarily used by criminals, for illegal activities such as ransom and blackmail. Incidents such as this one are not doing any good. And that said, I can't recall any international cricketer ever hinting his interest in cryptocurrency.
3994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 21, 2020, 12:58:07 PM
Hyderabad is not completely free from the pandemic, but it seems to be one of the better options right now. Tier 3 cities such as Goa and Trivandrum lack multiple stadiums, where dozens of matches can be played on a continuous basis. However, from the article posted by Huanebu, it looks as if BCCI wants the ICC to cancel the T20 World Cup. So what is the conclusion? Both these tournaments can't go ahead this year? Zero chance?
3995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: May 20, 2020, 06:00:51 PM
Don't waste eth for gas fee if you think your coins are worthless. You'll just spend money on that if you do. Just use new wallet if those tokens bothers you. With that, you will not spend eth and at the same time you won't see those tokens/coins if you find them annoying.

The best option is to ignore them. Your suggestion (i.e creating a new wallet) is also going to cost a lot of gas, as the token holder needs to move all of his useful tokens to the new address. And not a very good suggestion right now, given the high gas prices. But if it gives peace of mind, then I won't say anything against. Just move all your tokens to a new wallet and end the headache once and for all.

Not sure if its valid comparison, they fixed the game and it was big scandal but Shakib did nothing like that.

There are a lot of rumors going on.. and we may never know what happened out there. The official version is that he "failed to inform" the officials that he was approached by the bookies (during the IPL). That triggers several questions, and it is possible that he was made a scapegoat. Anyway, at this point I can only sympathize with him. I wish he'll be back in top form, as soon as the ban is over.
3997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are safer with top altcoins on: May 20, 2020, 05:09:37 PM
Ideally, noobs should stick with Bitcoin. Because I don't consider even the top altcoins as 100% safe. Bitcoin is also not 100% safe, but at least in its case we can say that it is the original cryptocurrency. All the recent altcoins are not really decentralized ones. All of them have a substantial share as premine, and this goes against the principle of decentralization.
3998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 20, 2020, 04:56:05 PM
It doe not matter anymore, In my opinion any cricket tournament will be a welcomed by cricket lovers. I prefer WC over IPL but in crisis situation like this where global economy is on the verge of collapsing I guess IPL will be a refresher for ICC, BCCI, cricket players and other boards.

In terms of revenue, IPL is more beneficial for everyone. Also, the logistics involved with the T20 World Cup can me much more complicated, as it involve 16 teams from all around the world. On the other hand, the IPL can move forward with just 8 teams, all from India. With international flights not opetating, ferrying these teams to Australia is going to be a herculean task.
3999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The list of bounty projects that end in a scam on: May 20, 2020, 04:50:44 PM
Just wanted to clear one of my doubts. How are you going to differentiate between a failed project and a scam? Or in simple words, how are you going to label a failed project as a scam? Trust me, it is going to be very difficult. I am someone who participated in a number of bounty campaigns, which never paid any rewards. Most of them claim that the project failed to kickoff, despite the promoters doing whatever they could.
4000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 20, 2020, 04:43:41 PM
Saliva banned is the best thing. Another thing could that hugging or handshake with players might be not allowed or people themselves will refrain to do and from social distance only will try to celebrate and motivate each other. Things will definitely be not the same as it used to be past for some months later on it can be back to normal.

This should have been done at least three decades ago. In none of the other sports, we have such unhygienic practices. Imagine some Japanese or Korean watching cricket players applying saliva to the ball. In these countries, they give a lot of importance to personal hygiene, and such practices would attract instant consternation. Anyway, at least now ICC has reacted in a positive manner.
