41  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin bounty for bitcoin hunters? on: October 24, 2018, 11:53:27 AM
Is this a new kind of a trend?  Cool

A friend of mine send me this site https://www.bitcoinbounty.me/ and ask me if I ever participated or tried to use this kind of tool before,

Don't know if it's working or if it is new blockchain analysis tool for future institutions.

Someone ever saw something like that?

Thanks for the answers

Strange never saw anything of this kind, the only way one person could prove it belongs to one entity is that they deposit to the marketplace/platform. I would imagine it's difficult to differentiate the validity of these claims , as majority of people wil anything to justify the means to receive the bounty.

I'll have a closer look and revert back!
42  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What methods to use to promote the project? on: October 24, 2018, 11:11:40 AM
Telegram bots help, but too many members in a group with little activity does not look good.

Yeah because that's authentic isn't it. Personally I will never touch any sort of fake digital supporters, members or followers it bares no integrity. People can do what they choose but i've realised these telegram channels with 10k+ members for airdrops and such are a complete waste of time. I'd rather build up my digital stance bit by bit rather than fake my way up the ladder, what good is a audience of nothing?

In relation to OP's questions the following are good methods;

  • Articles
  • Airdrops
  • Partnerships
  • Bounties (Development and PR)
  • Specialised tip-bot for your project
  • Posting informative content on Reddit, Twitter, BCT

Spreading awareness is the first step, keep it up. Good to see some people have some morals in this space Grin

Answered as best as I could Cool

If you are unfamiliar to some of the references i have made do google them! The internet is an encyclopedia of information, you just got to know how to use it.

45  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Scammer addresses directory on: October 24, 2018, 10:47:20 AM
Yeah it's common sense to never actually send BTC to a random entity that approaches you (email, discord, telegram) but some innocent people do fall ill to these methods. Nice work man, bit by bit we can make the space better through awareness.

Also you can find alot of scamming addresses on etherscan just look to the comments of each account, there is a bunch.

48  Bitcoin / Meetups / Who's hitting up the Malta Blockchain Summit next weekend? on: October 22, 2018, 03:54:43 PM
Do we have many advocates here travelling to Malta for next weekend? I am contending in the Hackathon, which will be my first of many. I'm interested to hear if anyone else from BCT is heading there and if so what do they hope to get out of the experience?

I myself am looking for viable transparent team members with a strong sense of moral values for my project Validity (VLDY) but also to find some information regarding digital asset legalisations within the EU or specifically Malta. I'm also there to mingle and meet with people who share the common interest of Blockchain and it's vast use-cases, as it's not everyday your in a close proximity with people such as so (well for myself anyways).

Best of luck on the hunt also I recommend conducting some bounties on gitcoin whilst you search, Solidity bounties are always apparent for big projects such as Polymath, Aragon and other such projects.
50  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: need an advice about finding crypto influencers on: October 22, 2018, 03:19:55 PM
The state of influencers in this space is an absolute joke, people look up to people who manipulate and deceit but yet these "influencers" don't even understand the mechanics of the system they represent? What type of role model is that?

Vitalik is a great influencer, end of. There should be more like him but the harsh reality is who is there past him? Dan Larnier for his ability to ignite and execute ideas sure, for his ability to maintain them certainly not. Then we start climbing down the ladder to people like Satoshi Lee, who is completely out of professional context majority of the time but he/s a technical advocate which is a bonus, but he just can't act in a professional manner (remember his twitter liquidation stunt) but let's not forget his ability to execute is quite poor (LightPay fiasco). Don't get me wrong there was some great accomplishments at his hand, like obtaining of equity of a bank as apart of the Litecoin Foundation and the ability for LTC to implement atomic swaps. Then we start see the true colours of the space as we decent deeper, John Mac Afee and Roger Ver for example I do not need to explain myself for these two enthusiasts and there is vast amount others that follow their same ideologies with their twitter follower count ascending into the high heavens.

There is a large majority of people i'm forgetting to mention as some of them i'm unaware to, why you may ask is this so? It's because i'm busy trying to create my own legacy than rather gloat in others. I only know the above from my initial research into blockchain when I was a trader, I no longer follow that path. We need more people in this space with the technical knowledge as influencers and not people who are just financially healthy and got a wallet full of BTC, but the underlying problem is that the average crypto-currency user isn't comprehending the technical/operational aspect to blockchain but only the potential profit margins. I always say that money distorts logic.

building projects with very good concepts and goals. especially if developed. I think there will be more people to participate / participate.
I check for the Airdrop section still in stage 2, and there is still one more step to come, there is still a chance to join.

Thank you Leftneck! We aim to deliver, yes there is still one month to go before our airdrop concludes and the launch of our DEX. Don't forget i'll be at https://maltablockchainsummit.com/ next week to attend the hackathon for $50,000 of BTC but also to represent Validity and try find some potential candidates for team members.

awesome gozzy, i hope you get some more team members on board.

Me too floorspeed, it will be a difficult task but it will be achievable. Some people aren't compliant to token payouts is the problem, as you know we have not raised any money through public funding nor will we in the future. Validity is dependent on the community and so we want to incentivise the relationship between the team and the community members as much as possible.

Important to note that the above reference to Validity as an ICO funded project is incorrect, which shall be addressed shortly. VLDY is a community-driven project and we will never raise money via a public sale, we believe in creating a strong bond with our community members that isn't founded on a suppressing expectation regarding trust with personal revenue. If a user wants to support the movement they can purchase the VLDY token through the free market,  for example on our exclusive DEX that is launching next month in order to provide a safe portal of liquidity.

The Malta blockchain summit is going great, networking as much as possible whilst engaging in the hackathon to win the cash prize but look who I was lucky to meet;

Great weekend, lots of viable contacts gained for the future also met a friend i've felt like I have known for a long time but it was the first time actually meeting him.  I was lucky enough to secure an award for the best smart contract in the hackathon , out of 50+ people that consisted of 11 teams.

The time for networking and gaining traction for opportunities is now concluded, VLDY is now entering a phase of execution.

Only 10 more days until the second round of our initial distribution scheme concludes, this is something you should not miss! The DLP (DEX) has been successfully automating orders in a simple implementation and there is a groundwork for the charting software, sneak peeks to come in the next two weeks after some real commitment.

20th of November 12:00am GMT+1 the airdrop form will be removed from the website, so be swift! Cool

5 days to go until the second round to our airdrop distribution concludes, the DLP (DEX) is now automating orders and a groundwork is laid for the UX with an associated charting software in React.js.

What needs to be done
  • orderFill implementation (order1 > order2)
  • Responsive orderbook updating
  • Charting UX overhaul
  • Fee implementation
  • UX overhaul
  • USP development

Three days to go, check out a new graphic we made Tongue

Share the love on twitter; https://twitter.com/ValidityCrypto/status/1063805367149309952

Two more days until judgement day, the airdrop will NOT be extended past this point. The next opportunity for round 3 will be approximately 1-2 months until opening, just to remind anyone who is unclear round 2 tokens are distributed with the launch of our DEX which provides instantaneous liquidity for applicants.

Just making people aware, hope to see you all in our telegram or discord!

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS is next Ethereum on: October 21, 2018, 11:11:47 PM
Well the main is issue is maintaining the factor of scalability whilst baring decentralisation, EOS may be increased scaling but in relation to it's state of execution it is partially centralised with the delegation system. I hunted down an asset that may bare the technological know-how to produce an effective solution for both conditions, Cypherium has a hybrid BFT/POW consensus algorithm and a Java (also with Solidity modules) based VM for smart contracts. Main-net is to be launched at start of the new year, it's been a year since it's private sale. I believe they have the tech, but do they have the skills to execute adoption is the question.
and then what's the relationship between cypherium and EOS? did you wanna say that cypherium will replace EOS? EOS has a horrible team and there are some people leaving from block.one and try to created a competitor to the block.one itself. EOS is a very centralized system.

It aim to be a VM platform that is scalable and is entirely based on distributed consensus, correct it's in the game to become a competitor with ETH for a more thriving dApp eco-system for more suitable applications. They are working on a new website atm but have been in the background developing their new consensus algo and working partnerships with VC's such as Pantera Capital and IC3 blockchain labs. They have the team for sure (new website will give an insight to it), with support from people like Jeremy Gardner (Co-founder of Augur, Editor of Distributed Magazine) Emin Gün Sirer (World-renowned blockchain researcher) and Patrick Dai (Founder of Qtum)

Check out their PRE-ANN; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2372072.0;t

If you really want to understand what is trying to be accomplished read the whitepaper it's really good, it may seem like a big task to comprehend but it's explained quite well.

Easy, just don't listen to these people just keeping doing what you do. It's true we are apart of a "cowboy" industry, mainly due to the fact of all the scams, frauds , amoral activity and ponzi schemes. I always argue money is never clean, regardless of it's form majority of the time it has been used unethically at some instance of time.

55  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are blockchain tracking sites tracking Segwit adoption wrong? on: October 21, 2018, 03:01:56 PM
I got into a debate with franky1 some weeks ago in this thread, starting with this post, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5026399.msg45926698#msg45926698

He claimed that websites like segwit.party were misleading everyone, and that Segwit adoption is only 10%, not 40%.

Quote
at the moment it still sits at only 10% segwit utility.
(i know people will say its 40%. but thats not the case. the graph showing such treats a mixed tx of legacy and segwit as a full segwit which misleads the reality of real statistics)

I replied with this.

Quote
You mean blocks, not transactions, right? But did the 40% Segwit adoption graph from segwit.party, before it went down, mean transactions? I believe it did.

Then he replied with this which confused me, because why would those websites be misleading us? Plus why isn't there anyone calling this issue out?

Can it be proven that there is only 10% Segwit adoption? How?

Quote
i mean transactions where if one input(UTXO) out of say 4input(UTXO). the whole transaction is classed as a segwit transaction instead of 0.25. then out of all transactions over one block or one day or one week whatever they say 40% are segwit and 60% have no segwit inputs at all

however. if they done it properly and said of all inputs(UTXO) being spent of (what the currently call a segwit tx) only 25% of a transaction is actually segwit.. then the result would be only 10% of all inputs(UTXO) being spend either per block or per day or per year, whatever would only segwit utilised

Bech32 Statistics; https://p2sh.info/dashboard/db/bech32-statistics?orgId=1&from=now-1y&to=now

Segwit Usage;
https://p2sh.info/dashboard/db/segwit-usage?orgId=1&from=now-1y&to=now

Seem's pretty viable in relation to all the other references, they have a number of viewable parameters like OP_RETURN usage etc

Your wallet site https://myegemwallet.com seems very suspicious.  It seems very similar to myetherwallet.  I am afraid anybody can enter here his own myetherwallet private keys and lose all his myetherwallet belongings.

EtherGem (EGEM) is a fork of Ethereum, also myegemwallet is a fork of myetherwallet. It is STRONGLY ADVISED NOT TO USE THE SAME ACCOUNTS ON MULTIPLE NETWORKS. If you wish to have a EGEM wallet please make a fresh account, otherwise you will be susceptible to attack/exploitation if your account is breached one network. This is common sense, EGEM is a communal project so they do not have the time to develop an entire new online wallet nor do they have the funds to, as there is more important goals to accomplish.

If you have anymore questions please do ask.

Chainlabs has kindly helped allow the exposure of the VLDY airdrop via their application https://chainlabs.ai/apps/kyte . Which allows users to stay up to date with ongoing airdrops without the manual hassle, available via a Discord bot, Telegram channel (@kyteairdrops), Slack bot, iOS and Android native applications. Airdrops are also viewable via browser at https://chainlabs.ai/airdrops . Please check it out, big thanks to NCG for making this all happen!

How many tokens will every user receive for this second Airdorp round,
and what exchnanges are in plan for Validity ?

Probably 10,120,000,000 divided by all the people that join Airdrop.
How many people joined Airdrop 1 ?

The first round of the airdrop concluded with 368 applicants with 41,250,000 VLDY each;
Correct the second round is also dependent on the number of applicants, at the moment it is undisclosed but will be announced on distribution.

The DLP (VLDY's own independent Solidity DEX) will operate on a VLDY/EGEM market, currently in it's pre-alpha and is expected to go live within the next month and with that is the distribution of round two to provide instantaneous liquidity for airdrop holders.

Attention the new Validity website is live and mobile optimised; validity.ae
I hope it suffices in describing what VLDY does in a simplistic manner, if you have any recommendations please do let me know.
With this announcement we are also extending the round two airdrop until the 20th of November, to allow sufficient time for the DLP to be developed and launched for late October/early November (sneak peak coming soon). Thank you all for you're on-going support and spread the word about the airdrop being extended!

Attention community, our new website and registration for the VLDY airdrop round two is now live at http://validity.ae/

It's partially mobile optimised for the majority of devices, which shall be improved as we go along.

The form will not submit unless you enter all parameters and have inputted a wallet address equal to 42 characters. Please wait for a second or two after clicking the submission button, if no response then it's an invalid submission if correct the form window will close and alert of the successful submission.

If you applied for the first airdrop round, you still have to apply again to avail of round two

Thank you for your patience and spread the word !

I have joined your telegram, but I haven't seen the specific airdrop information.
I want to know how your reward mission is going. Is it too late for me to join now?

Check the above my friend, no you are just on time!
