I wonder if @notsofast can help us link up with people - I see that he was an interested in this project early on.

For derpy, new to mining people...is there a .deb install guide?

Is it just git clone link and then compile?

Thanks for any info - have a 32 core server im looking to leave on while I leave town for the holidays! Nice project and attractive site.

Hopefully with DEXs are more popular next year and start coming up, maybe we could list there. I have done some trading on Bitshares and its rough...it looks nothing like the screenshots of Radar Relay.  Im curious of what the listing fees will me on Mothership as well, that looks promising. 2018 looks good for options!

Yea, its only a matter of time before these and dudes with vast resources enter. Its natural.
I watched it happen with Verium.

Looking at that let me tell you my experience.   I crunched the numbers and found the sweet spot to be Dell T3500 with Xeon X5650 processors.  Ordered a few off eBay for less than $200/each.  While I don't have one of those XU4's I doubt they'd have the same punch per dollar as the T3500 (I compared the Monero hashrate of the i7 listed in the article with my X5650 to determine they were in broad stokes pretty equal and the XU4 was pulling about 1/9th the rate of the i7 at a cost of $50) .  So I deployed several in my home in addition to my normal PC.  When I bought them, they'd pull close to 2000 coins a day on average, now they average about 400 coins a day.  Right now that's about 28 cents per day in BBP.  They run 170 watts, so I am paying 44 cents a day in power per box.  I would suspect most people mining are currently making little or even losing money unless they have very cheap power and that's not including amortizing hardware costs.  But most miners are likely mining for the long haul.  So they accept it might cost them a small premium to mine, but its easier to mine that buy in small quantities.  And there is the hope that the coin will be successful and rise in value.  But the nice thing about Biblepay is as long as it is GPU resistant, it's got a bright future if it can make it through these last few road blocks.  So as the coin rises in price, more miners will enter, the difficulty will increase and I'll probably drop to 200 coins a day but still be bringing in 30 to 40 cents at that new price.

Agree to that point. My single Opteron workstation is doing about 1500 coins every 24 hours, but its pricey to run, and loud. I hope to move it to another room and make it the MN box.

I share that gut feeling. It will weed out those who accumulated quite a bit but are here for the investment. Not to imply there is anything wrong with doing that, but MNs should lean towards those with earnest to see the concept / project succeed outside of monetary gain.

Post MN being brought online, I imagine that will result a better snapshot of coin circulation; perhaps after that a burn can be discussed to reduce quantity should it be a hindrance.

Also, pray for the victims of the church shooting yesterday in my home state, TX; an 18mo. baby was one of the many victims, that just breaks my heart.

Does anyone know how expensive it is to get listed on coinexchange.io? This is a much higher volume exchange and masternode coins are popular. Also, a free trollbox to advertise.

I just opened an account and opened a ticket to see if they will list us, thanks for the idea.

I can run a small campaign at bitcointalk, which would pay a 10 people to retweet my pinned tweet at twitter to coinexchange.io

something like this:

@CoinExchangeio #coinexchangeio Please add biblecoin BBP for trading at coinexchange.io
#Exchange #Retweet TY

I have not tweeted that yet, but I could do that, and pin it to my profile for people to retweet
Or you could tweet that at your twitter account, and participants have to follow your twitter account and retweet that tweet and perhaps more?

I am thinking I would be ok with 5000 BBP for myself to complete this campaign,
and anywhere from 1000 to 5000 more BBP to be paid to the tweeters(100 to 500 per retweet and follow, the more you pay the easier
it will be to find people to participate in this campaign),
but only 10 tweeters for now and they must have at least 200 followers and not bot follower but real people following them,
and it must be an account that is crypto related and perhaps something to do with Jesus Christ or the Holy Bible to fit
with the theme of biblepay coin.

The conditions would be up to bible_pay though

(I did not send you this in a personal message, because I do not want to get banned for sending unwanted personal messages,
but let me know if it is ok with you for me to send you personal messages, so that in the future I could contact you in private
about this kind of thing.)

This is down the road but since BBP is a charitable organization, we could probably do an old fashioned GoFundMe for the listing price on Cryptopia or something since its big money. An aspect that makes this project so interesting is that its not a profit driven token with an erc-20 ICO created just to take and not produce. I dont know all cryptos but its difficult to locate even 1 more "legitimate" project that is charity driven. I love that the mission statement is to server those i need since I get a notion of expansion into being able to provide a benevolent "purse" or airdrop to victims of natural disasters or medical costs. Glad to be part of it.

So if I wanted to get to the 1.1m mark by Christmas I would need more machines to do this.
Has anyone mined BBP on the cloud?
Where is this possible?

Or is it cheaper to just make an account and buy on CCEX?

Thanks

The $10 monthly Vultr VPS should work fine and let you transition from mining to mining + sanctuary.

I personally use the 2.50 a month and 5 dollar a month VPS options provided by Vultr with zero problems on my other masternodes.

You wont have an issue with the lower ram VPS as long as you remember to make a memory swap file. (Use google)

Hi JC Denton,

Thanks for the tip! I managed to get the BBP wallet mining on the $5 box, but can't get it to install on the $2.50 box (Ubuntu). I made a 4Gb memory swap file for both boxes.

Could you please confirm that you managed to get this working on the $2.50 box, and if so, how big was your swap file? Anything else that is tricky about installing it?
Thanks mate!

another option - I went with a used workstation server I bought off Ebay for 480.00; it was mining VRM for awhile before it got too difficult for it. Its working well for BBP. Just loud...like my wife hates it loud, luckilly I had an extra wifi dongle laying around and I just shut in the extra bedroom and tossed Teamviewer on it so its headless.  Here is hash info:

On the topic of bounties, I was thinking of something a little more true to the cause and salient than posting on twitter, etc.
What if there was a bounty for completing a Bible study / answering questions? I understand there are non-Christians involved in this project and thats is fantastic, but ultimately, I would also like to see those individuals come to Christ; at least open the Word and explore the truth and depth. If this is too pushy, I get it, I just know bounty campaigns are a big deal for attracting new users and it would be cool if we did something "more" than post a banner or spam BBP to random people.

Just thinking outloud -

Good Morning All,

My main rig is no longer syncing with the network. I deleted all banned nodes, backed up, and reinstalled and Im still stuck syncing. I show about 10 peer connections but its not moving. What would be the next problem solving step?

Thanks!
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: October 28, 2017, 03:35:44 AM

OP... Ive tried. Ive fought the good fight. Why can I not import my exported Meta PK? Can you post the import cmd again please?
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask / MEW Question on: October 26, 2017, 03:01:01 AM
I figured it out, seems silly now looking at it, but I was scared of the whole gas gwei wei yadda yadda. I need to watch a YT video or something on how all that works.
Im not accustomed to messing with ERC-20 tokens. Thank you for the comments. Yes, once I linked my MEW to my Meta, I didnt notice the drop down after I loaded my token. Duh.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITCOINEREUM - First Bitcoin Minable ERC20 Token on Ethereum Blockchain on: October 26, 2017, 02:08:56 AM
What does this mean? I am using Meta and tried to import my exported key but the path returns "Error: no key for given address or file"

"Make sure your wallet file is on the Ethereum keystore folder"
