41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.0 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: July 24, 2017, 02:59:24 AM
Hello everybody.
I noticed that sometimes the miner hangs... It stops working without printing any error, just pauses mining.
The terminal doesn't output anything either.
If I press enter it resumes mining as nothing happened.

Do you know what can be causing that?
The version I'm using is 2.0 final for Windows. I am running it under Win 10 x64. Does the same thing both when starting it with AwesomeMiner or MultiPoolMiner.

 Would you need additional information?

Thanks!

I'm experiencing this on all my rigs as well.   would love to found out of  anyone here has figured out a solution.

Meanwhile gtx1060 doing around 30Mh/s, do not bother with AMD garbage

you realize that SP only got it to do 30mh/s for a few seconds before it crashed right?  It's only stable at <17 mh/s now.   Please don't inflate shit the the purpose of needlessly trashing others for the sake up being a fanboy.

I use all nvidia cards myself, but don't see the need to attack others with differing methods/opinions, out of respect and common decency.

Can someone please tell me what useful purpose this coin serves?   Their website is pretty sparse when it comes to information regarding why it exists.

How is a 1060 doing 30? 1070 only gets 20 to 21...

my 1070 is doing 20, 1080 TI's are doing 35.  What is the private miner?

it would be really useful to add the QR scan functionality into the app.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rig Freezing when mining on: July 19, 2017, 05:02:10 AM
while it's mining, press ctrl-alt-delete and look at the 'system interrupts' process.   that process should only taking 1-0.5% of your cpu time.   If it hovers at 5-20%, you have a problem w/ either your GPU or your riser.

I also use a program called LatencyMon to check the latency of devices that are talking to the CPU.   A good way to pin down the culprit is by running 5 cards at a time (instead of 6), until you find the combo that is stable (low system interrupts).   The card that is not running whilst the system is stable is probably the culprit.

I've built several rigs and have been troubleshooting the same for the last few weeks.  PM me if you need more help.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Parallel Miner 2400w PSU - questions / input requested on: July 18, 2017, 11:58:44 PM
You can power your ATX motherboard by buying this:

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/160watt-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-bypass-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/

It'll power the motherboard, cpu (4pin), and an SSD via sata.

As for powering the risers, I believe you can power them directly via the 6 pin pci-e connector if you get these risers:

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/ithoo-usb3-0-pci-express-1x-to-16x-extender-riser-card-adapter-w-24-cable/

In theory, you'll only need a single 2400w psu:

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/2400-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-efficiency-200-240v-up-to-24-gpu/

to power everything.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MinerWatcher - mining rigs monitoring service on: July 18, 2017, 10:54:47 AM
at the moment, i would love to see CHC added to the list (c11 algo).

As for not being able to exit, i rebooted my computer and everything is fine now.

current wattage for each card is a monitoring parameter that I find useful.

Thanks again for this awesome service.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MinerWatcher - mining rigs monitoring service on: July 17, 2017, 11:57:41 PM
awesome app!  I love it.  A few things of note:

- Any chance you can add all the supported coins/algos from ccminer?
- Is there an easy way to stop/start the job from the dashboard?
- Instead of AVG temps and fans, I think it would be more helpful, at least to me, to list the CURRENT temps and fan speed.
- The local app doesn't want to exit.  I had to go into task manager (win10) to end the process.

Otherwise, a great start!

Thanks again
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone have 5+ 1080 ti's working with risers on Asus Z270A? on: July 14, 2017, 05:33:37 AM
You don't need 6 pin risers...I got 5 going

You need to set your 4g decoding to enabled

And pcie gen to 1

Then if it's not registering, swap the pcie ports, and kill all power flip the switch on the PSU, then power back on

Honestly it seems very random. Just a simple restart can often solve all the issues. A few almost guarantees it

I can 100% attest to this.  These MSI motherboards are HELLA finicky when it comes to recognizing more than 4 cards.   I have a couple of rigs running on 6-7 1080 TI cards and have never had a smooth experience in getting my Win10 OS (version 1703) to recognize all 7 from the get-go.

best advice would be to install one card at a time, get into the OS, make sure it's recognized.  Then completely shut it down, install the next card, get the os to recognize to cards...and so on and so forth. one at a time.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: July 14, 2017, 01:49:36 AM
thanks for pointing that out.  The numbers don't sound that that impressive now that I think about it..but the important point to take out of all this is that there are no optimized miners/drivers out yet for this card.  Chances are it won't be a good value in terms of mining, but we will have to wait and see.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.0 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: July 14, 2017, 01:42:54 AM

--plimit=150,150,150,....

7x 1080ti wow lol Wink

muchas gracias Smiley  that worked like a charm.

I'm running them at 65% TDP (1080 TI ZOTAC AMP EXTREME).  These suckers have max TDP of 320w!  But they run cool, quiet, and have been rock solid for a month.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: July 13, 2017, 11:23:27 PM
Here's a reddit link about a developer who managed to get 1160 h/s mining Monero on his VEGA FE:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6lz1q6/vega_owners_club/djxpnhn/

He wrote his own optimized miner after studying opencl in the course of 40 hours.   Supposedly his "Vega FE is twice as profitable mining Monero as a GTX 1080Ti mining Ethereum"

pretty impressive if it turns out to be true.

Been looking around but can't find the answer anywhere.

I have a 7 GPU 1080 TI mining rig and would like to be able to control the power limit for all 7 cards via the ccminer --plimit parameter.    I'm currently on Windows 10 version 1703, page file set to 32-64gb, with a 4gb stick and intel g3900 celeron processor.   All is running fine and dandy, but I would like to explore the possibility of controlling the power for all 7 cards directly via the ccminer executable.

As it stands, I can only control the first GPU using the --plimit parameter.  I cannot find any documentation regarding passing that parameter to apply to all (identical) cards.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 07, 2017, 02:44:09 AM
I will only be using server PSUs for all GPUs from now on. so much cleaner and easier

each 1200w PSU I have it  power 4 1080TIs or 6 1080s

I think have a 500w PSU powering the MB and risers

all 240v of course

Server PSUs are very nice as long as you don't have them in a living space (very loud under load). We are using them for most of our rigs on my wife's farm and if you use splitters you can run the GPu and risers all of the same PCI-E cables (use 14 or 16 AWG cables of course).  With the right custom cables and a Pico PSU for the motherboard you can even avoid an ATX PSU altogether, although we have not tried that setup it does look tempting.

Is there a connector for the CPU as well?  What kind of splitter are you using to power the risers?

so nexus can be mined using the skein and keccak algo?  I've downloaded Nexus Wallet v0.2.2.2 (fully synced), created the nexus.conf file in the appropriate directory, and restarted the wallet.

ccminer -a skein -o 127.0.0.1:9325

is what i have so far.   what other details do i need in my bat file?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying a rig Vs Building a rig on: July 05, 2017, 02:28:33 AM
the only reason to get into this 'business' is if u were planning on staying in the mining field for at least 6 months.  With that being said, if u were to even think about buying a rig, STOP RIGHT THERE.  you are probably not the right person to be mining in the first place, as it requires a lot of tedious upkeep and technical/semi-technical knowledge.   you need to love and be involved in the intricacies of hardware, software, and everything in between.

this is just my personal opinion, b/c of anything breaks, and believe me, IT WILL, you want the technical know-how and thirst for problem solving to step in and just make the dang thing work!  If you are lacking this, than just keep your money and invest instead.

just my two cents.

Hello everyone! I've been using alexis miner for a while and it gave me 1300 k/h on my gtx 1070 for neoscrypt Cool. Few days ago I bought two 1080 ti, and I find out that they do only 550 k/h with alexis miner. When I switch to tpruvot ccminer 2.0 I start getting 1000 k/h for 1070s and 1600 k/h for 1080ti. Is there any way to fix this abnormally low 1080 ti hash rate for alexis miner?  Huh

I would just stick w/ tprovot for the 1080ti and alexis for the 1070.   not all miners are optimized for all card.

I've been mining on this pool for just under 2 weeks.   Would love it if you would enable(fix?) the idle workers notification system.   Although I've enabled it for my workers and turned on the feature, I've never been sent any type of notification.
