41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ann] [scrypt-n-r] horuscoin - Rx - on: July 01, 2014, 04:25:22 PM
No news I see. What's a pity. Wallet seems worked.

That is the bad thing about all these shill accounts to launch coins. They forget they made it and move on since it had a bumpy launch. I like the style of this one with the eye, good mystical coin. Last I checked it had 2 - 5 active miners and the block height was around 22969.

i wrote, hope to be confirmed. thank you Kora !

Ya, this is just to make sure nobody gets a stake using somebody else's BTT ID. So 1 post and you're all set for this part of the process.

To confirm you stake, please do the following math problem. Correct entries will be confirmed.

 Perfect numbers are positive integers n such that
n=s(n),
(1)

where s(n) is the restricted divisor function (i.e., the sum of proper divisors of n), or equivalently
sigma(n)=2n,
(2)

where sigma(n) is the divisor function (i.e., the sum of divisors of n including n itself). For example, the first few perfect numbers are 6, 28, 496, 8128, ... (Sloane's A000396), since
6   =   1+2+3
(3)
28   =   1+2+4+7+14
(4)
496   =   1+2+4+8+16+31+62+124+248,
(5)

etc. The first few perfect numbers P_n are summarized in the following table together with their corresponding indices p (see below).
n   p_n   P_n
1   2   6
2   3   28
3   5   496
4   7   8128
5   13   33550336
6   17   8589869056
7   19   137438691328
8   31   2305843008139952128

Perfect numbers were deemed to have important numerological properties by the ancients, and were extensively studied by the Greeks, including Euclid.

Perfect numbers are also intimately connected with a class of numbers known as Mersenne primes, which are prime numbers of the form M_p=2^p-1. This can be demonstrated by considering a perfect number P of the form P=q·2^(p-1) where q is prime. By definition of a perfect number P,
sigma(P)=2P.
(6)

Now note that there are special forms for the divisor function sigma(n)
sigma(q)=q+1
(7)

for n=q a prime, and
sigma(2^alpha)=2^(alpha+1)-1
(Cool

for n=2^alpha. Combining these with the additional identity
sigma(p_1^(alpha_1)p_2^(alpha_2)...p_r^(alpha_r))=sigma(p_1^(alpha_1))sigma(p_2^(alpha_2))...sigma(p_r^(alpha_r)),
(9)

where n=p_1^(alpha_1)p_2^(alpha_2)...p_r^(alpha_r) is the prime factorization of n, gives
sigma(P)   =   sigma(q·2^(p-1))
(10)
   =   sigma(q)sigma(2^(p-1))
(11)
   =   (q+1)(2^p-1).
(12)

But sigma(P)=2P, so
(q+1)(2^p-1)=2q·2^(p-1)=q·2^p.
(13)

Solving for q then gives
q=2^p-1.
(14)

Therefore, if P is to be a perfect number, q must be of the form q=2^p-1. Defining M_p as a prime number of the form M_P=q=2^p-1, it then follows that
P_p=1/2(M_p+1)M_p=2^(p-1)(2^p-1)
(15)

is a perfect number, as stated in Proposition IX.36 of Euclid's Elements (Dickson 2005, p. 3; Dunham 1990).

While many of Euclid's successors implicitly assumed that all perfect numbers were of the form (15) (Dickson 2005, pp. 3-33), the precise statement that all even perfect numbers are of this form was first considered in a 1638 letter from Descartes to Mersenne (Dickson 2005, p. 12). Proof or disproof that Euclid's construction gives all possible even perfect numbers was proposed to Fermat in a 1658 letter from Frans van Schooten (Dickson 2005, p. 14). In a posthumous 1849 paper, Euler provided the first proof that Euclid's construction gives all possible even perfect numbers (Dickson 2005, p. 19).

It is not known if any odd perfect numbers exist, although numbers up to 10^(300) have been checked (Brent et al. 1991; Guy 1994, p. 44) without success.

All even perfect numbers P>6 are of the form
P=1+9T_n,
(16)

where T_n is a triangular number
T_n=1/2n(n+1)
(17)

such that n=8j+2 (Eaton 1995, 1996). In addition, all even perfect numbers are hexagonal numbers, so it follows that even perfect numbers are always the sum of consecutive positive integers starting at 1, for example,
6   =   sum_(n=1)^(3)n
(18)
28   =   sum_(n=1)^(7)n
(19)
496   =   sum_(n=1)^(31)n
(20)

(Singh 1997), where 3, 7, 31, ... (Sloane's A000668) are simply the Mersenne primes. In addition, every even perfect number P is of the form 2^(p-1)(2^p-1), so they can be generated using the identity
sum_(k=1)^(2^((p-1)/2))(2k-1)^3=2^(p-1)(2^p-1)=P.
(21)

It is known that all even perfect numbers (except 6) end in 16, 28, 36, 56, 76, or 96 (Lucas 1891) and have digital root 1. In particular, the last digits of the first few perfect numbers are 6, 8, 6, 8, 6, 6, 8, 8, 6, 6, 8, 8, 6, 8, 8, ... (Sloane's A094540), where the region between the 38th and 41st terms has been incompletely searched as of June 2004.

The sum of reciprocals of all the divisors of a perfect number is 2, since
n+...+c+b+a_()_(n)=2n
(22)
n/a+n/b+...=2n
(23)
1/a+1/b+...=2.
(24)

If s(n)>n, n is said to be an abundant number. If s(n)<n, n is said to be a deficient number. And if sigma(n)=kn for a positive integer k>1, n is said to be a multiperfect number of order k.

The only even perfect number of the form x^3+1 is 28 (Makowski 1962).

Ruiz has shown that n is a perfect number iff
sum_(i=1)^(n-2)i|_n/i_|=1+sum_(i=1)^(n-1)i|_(n-1)/i_|.

gathering 3000 unique stakeholders is not doable
you guys need to rethink about it
you are just giving them more time to find a way for cheating
according to my research, there are less than 1500 members (in very optimistic view of course) who are active on this forum
and i think there is no way to gathering all of em in kora project
it's just my opinion as a signed up user for kora
Please post your research, that would be an interesting read.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 17, 2014, 03:50:36 PM
Let me address some of the issues.

Regarding dev fund, as of today UF already spend 10.5BTC for UI/UX. And the estimate is another 10btc till Aug.
The dev fund is controlled by dev team, the accounts are in first post.

There are/were two main reasons for public auction:
  • get more stakeholder, to have 3000 stakes altogether,
  • get funds for future work (mainly for external expenses),
  • public auction would most likely be held AFTER BETA.

When it comes to me (and I think I express view of other devs too), I'm here for NEM, not for btc.
Whether public auction will be held (I think it should as it was promised), and how many stakes
will there be, is TBD. We will definitely take Eadeqa's fears and doubts into consideration.
(Give us few days time for some internal discussion)

Regarding 15%, keep in mind there is 400/100/100 split there, so it's not only dev but also promotion and ecosystem.

The 10% reserve, is supposed to go for FUTURE projects and it will be LOCKED (using NEM business rules).

How about we use a large percentage of the auction proceeds to benefit Sean's outpost or another non-profit organization.  This would be a great public relations event.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: {NEW ECONOMY MOVEMENT} (--NEW--) NEM Official Thread {Updates & Discussion} on: June 13, 2014, 08:58:23 PM
Wouldn't it be good to have a self-moderated thread where we could finally kick trolls out?  Grin
Problem with self-moderated threads is that is limits free speech. The world only see's what the person with the power in the thread wants them to see. This leads to a cabal that controls the entire project. Let the trolls die of hunger and it will be fine.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: {NEW ECONOMY MOVEMENT} (--NEW--) NEM Official Thread {Updates & Discussion} on: June 13, 2014, 06:48:20 PM
First off, I am sorry to hear that UF has left the community.

Once the lynch mob mentality is started, it is hard to focus on the reality.  UF will hopefully remain part of this decentralized community of Nemesters. I hope that he simply makes a new account and continues to provide his project management abilities in some aspect.
Don't get me wrong, I do not condone UF's hypocritical actions.  I do however don't think we should be a community that shuns another member if they make mistakes, or do something outside the scope of our own belief system. We are building a system that will take the human greed, mistrust and mistakes out of the picture. The nem protocol layer will allow for the protocol to enforce trust, honesty. These are the things we should strive for.
I have been around this scene for sometime and have seen many alts come and go. I think we are about par for the course so far.  Over time you start using the ignore button more and more as you realize the trolls.  Always remember people are to be thought of as looking out for themselves first. To overcome this we must engineering a crypto that automatically forces people to be honest to the protocol without telling them who to be, what to do and what is proper to themselves. This is what we need to be about.
Just my 2 nems.

Ok, I saw that the previous options dont let the wallet unusable, is working like old, I mean problem still, any other idea?

What are you running it on? If it is an old xp box, that could be your issue. Try downloading the latest client from http://www.pacifica-nation.com/
Save it to a new directory and run it. Also be sure your block height matches the one listed here: http://www.pacifica-nation.com/paccoin/index.php

And for clarity, I am not associated with this coin other then having a few million in my bag. ;-)

Help, debug window, console
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: June 04, 2014, 07:07:15 PM
Does I not will loose my coins using that options?

If you have coins that your client thinks were staked but are not confirmed on the blockchain, it is possible. But of course you wouldn't of had them anyway. wmcorless is usually hanging out over at https://rockytrade.net/index.php?page=trade&market=118

You could always ask.

How's the closed alpha coming along? Any horrendous bugs reared their ugly heads?

Define horrendous Smiley
So far NIS is still the main subject of testing as NCC is not done yet.
Gimre and Bloddyrookie are working everyday to get everything working stable. Other devs would have probably said "screw it good enough for alpha" but that's not how our core-devs role Wink

As I'm writing this we hit 3046 blocks Smiley

What kind of blockchain cache size are we looking at for the local client? Thinking about the mobile version and if a standalone app is created does it need to cheat blockchain storage like mycillium.

edit: nxt is currently at 319mb for client/cache

SAT could have a bright future , but not with these clowns we have and DEVs despise their community.
I'm SAT almost from the beginning , I started buying them Cryptorus 1 satoshi and Cryptsy bought many millions on 2 satohis to prevent sent to market LTC , I came to accumulate nearly 800,000,000 SATs, the community grew and I thought the risk was worth taking , but after receiving only slights and insults to education by asking what you are asking all now ( a little involvement from the dEVs ) and decided to sell what I have been doing for almost a month .
I still maintain a few million (just in case and since my initial investment is already covered) .
Worst of all is that ( and I think it was in the wake of the commentary I show ) , which was an active and growing community , was gradually disappearing , it seems that people are afraid to speak.
Anyway ... wish the best for SAT , but do not think it these DEVs .
Good luck to all

Please take note that Bob is no longer involved with Saturncoin Smiley

Didn't realize I wasn't, where do I send the foundation fund to?

Not sure what to make of this coin. Dev updates github pretty often, doesn't post to bitcoin talk. On average has about 4- 7 active connections on the client. Guess most are just slowly mining enjoying the reward. Listed on 1 exchange at  a price that is far too low. POS reward seems to be providing most of the blocks.

Wonders who is leading this show?

Foundation Members:
If you are interested in being part of the foundation, we are usually in the irc freenode #saturncoins
We need the community to move forward, take a little time to take part and voice your ideas here and in the chat.

POS client:
One of the issues Mintcoin has recently dealt with was people attacking the blockchain on the POW side since the diff went so low. To combat that they have removed the POW side of the coin and are 100% POS now. Something to consider as we are making the change to POS.

Kudo's:
Just wanted to share kudo's to all the folks behind this coin as it is a lot of work and somewhat stressful. Transparency should be hardcoded into anything we build so that issues can be resolved openly.
Bitcoines - Without your help, this coin would of died a painful death after being left on the side of the ditch by the original dev team.
Honeypot - You have been a great help poking and plotting us in the right direction.
Steady - You have helped keep the community informed and help to organize all of us.

I apologize if your name is not above, the entire community has come together to help this coin survive, so if you are left out know you are appreciated.

As always, I am around on irc or here. Please contact me if you have questions.

Any update about the auction? Has it started yet?

not yet, probably won't start until the open Alpha since we want to avoid scam accusation.

good idea! any plans on how the auction will be run? will you hold off on auctioning a couple stakes until just prior to nem launch? i think thats when you will get a huge amount of interest and much higher price!

edit

still looking for pledges towards the multipool!

i have a very strong plan but need pledges and a dev still.. it needs to be stand alone nem pool now in order to implement the full plan!

only 440k pledged so far 300k from 3 generous people so i think we can do much much better seeing as we have 3k stake holders!

We had discussion within NEM core dev, and nem core dev* is almost unanimously against multipool.

but as utopianfuture noted, there is possibility, for getting funds from ecosystem and/or promotional funds.

[/quote]

I agree here. We are trying to move away from the massive data closets of wasted energy, promoting a multipool that waste energy to get nem is something I am not supportive of.
Better that we just allow folks to obtain NEM in a free market. I would support an exchange more then a multipool. But we are all free to support what we believe in. I wish you luck.
