41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is everyone loving Feathercoin so much? on: April 30, 2013, 11:03:47 AM
It has grown very quickly, much more than expected. I figured I would be working with a small community of people on this coin. It seems that the community has grown large and at great speed. This has made the project more serious sooner than expected, if people are going to use Feathercoins in the way they have been then it has to be taken seriously. Currently I am dedicating all my time to Feathercoin.

I'll ask you what you think of FTC community once price drops and most miners jump off the FTC train, as it happened with TRC, FRC, BTE and most other coins. It'll be
funny to watch you and alikes crying for more hashpower, and most of those who are speeding-up FTC train right now totally ignoring the cry. Once profit ceases, there
won't be any reasons to continue mining FTC because, you see, it is nothing but LTC with 4 times more coins to be generated - not enough changes to have life of it's
own outside of speculation circles. Even LTC is ignored by most of those who are accepting BTC, and you think FTC has a chance to be accepted for anything serious?

In the long run, FTC is going nowhere. Enjoy the show you started - I guess it is perfectly fine for you to have your name displayed on the scammer wall for some profit.
You talk quite a lot about a thing, that "is going nowhere" Grin

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone should clone PPC and call it Ecocoin on: April 29, 2013, 10:56:28 AM
As i understand PPC uses PoW and PoS, and because of that it can be called only half-eco-coin. Grin

PPC could be intresting but it's difficult to understand, lacks of marketting and community support. I think it's just too late for this coin. There are more improved coins being build. Maybe PPC will make understanding that public relations are important.

That helped, it's OK now. Thanks  Cheesy
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin - Updated Client - New Logo on: April 27, 2013, 11:42:26 AM
finally have downloaded the new client. Select folder view "large icons". Still see old icon.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PPCoin vs FeatherCoin vs NovaCoin on: April 27, 2013, 11:02:35 AM
It's up to you to choose what to mine. Even if someone knew what coin is going to succed, it would be more profitable not to share this knowledge and just acquire as many of those coins as you can.

Altough we still can discuss. I see it like that:
PPCoin (the name, the website...) is somehow not attractive. I think it also lacks suport and info from community and developers.
Novacoin would be probably the best coin technically, but it's was premined. For some this equals for a scam. Also it doesn't even have a website.
Feathercoin is just a copy of Litecoin, but everything runs just smooth, and probaly this is what gives tons of support for this coin.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin - Updated Client - New Logo on: April 26, 2013, 10:10:25 PM
i also have difficulties while downloading the client. The download speed just slows down to nothing.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I propose yet another new coin: Coinmunism! on: April 26, 2013, 05:13:46 PM
I see one problem. It's a piece of cake for a coinmunist to feel under threat, if this threat has low chance of really happening. But I think that sooner or later a real threat (something like DDOS) would strike. And then Coinmunism would collapse, and the fun would end. Sad

Can someone explain me more about 0.1 FC transfer fee? When and why do I have to pay it? Where does it go? It can't just vanish, can it?

It goes to the miners.  When a block is found it gets added to the reward for finding that block.  So instead of a 200 FC reward, the miners will get a 200.1.
But there are probably more poeple paying that 0.1, so can miners get like 300 FC? And why is this fee necessary?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GUIMiner-scrypt: A GUIMiner fork for mining scrypt chains on: April 25, 2013, 03:24:11 PM

NO
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PPC the one to watch on: April 25, 2013, 03:19:16 PM
Personally I am waiting for something new, which at least has something against SHA256 ASICs (scrypt maybe, but not necessarily) and 51% attack (PoS looks good for now).

Looks like all SHA256 coins (except Bitcoin) pretty much have come to a deadend. Buying ASICs just to mine is just unacceptable.

nprussell,
your last trys are nice, but the feather is going out over edge a little Grin

I have been using this forum for a week now and I just realized, I forgot to register  Smiley
This is why this restriction sucks. New visitors should be somehow informed that it's better to register.
See you on the other side Smiley
This is good attitude  Grin
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: REAL name for TrueCoin contest. on: April 22, 2013, 06:08:32 PM
Qashy

It took me a while, but now i am pretty satisfied with what i came up.
Firstly i somehow decided that the name has to start with Q. And then bam! Qashy. Sounds cool, should be memorable and (best of all) resembles the word "cash" (which is probably the most common word that comes to our mind when thinking about money). Whatya say? Grin
