Hi, We have our own blockchain forked from Bytecoin (AFTER the giant bytecoin / monero security patch!).

We've chosen and modified Bytecoin for a few reasons.

1. Bytecoin is a top 25 coin by market cap so the blockchain stands up to huge demand and transaction levels
2. The cryptonight algorithm that underlies the blockchain is CPU friendly and ANTI - ASIC. This gives windows and small CPU miners a chance, where Bitcoin is dominated with ASIC miners and Ethereum is dominated with GPU miners. Speaking of exchange listing, I should let everyone know - we've been in touch with all the exchanges from major to minor and will be pursuing all during the ICO campaign to get Electroneum listed wherever we can, as soon as we can, but we have one confirmation back - so we are now 100% confident that soon after the ICO closes Electroneum will be able to be able to be purchased by retail customers or exchanged by owners for other currencies, real or crypto.

Electroneum has one that is (of course!) easier to use than most, if not all of the others.

There are 255 characters per byte and we use 32 bytes of REALLY random data to make the key. That means there are 255^32 (to the power of). That is a LARGE number. Really large. You are probably thinking large is something like your last credit card bill, but this is even larger. In fact, the number is larger than the number of hydrogen atoms in the known universe! Tt might be more ATOMS than there are in the known universe, we haven't counted them, and be honest, neither have you

We keep making amendments and resubmitting to Apple and they keep asking us to make changes to code, policies, terms, asking us to justify each permission request etc. We get a bit closer each time! The xcode is all done - we have just resubmitted again. They weren't keen on us accessing the camera - but we need to access to scan QR codes for wallet addresses.

As soon as we can get it live, we will post. The android app is live!

Don't forget that you can't use the wallet to transfer funds or do any mobile mining until Nov 1st after the ICO closes. So we've got plenty of breathing room to get the app perfect for Apple's review team!

Yes, don't worry, you will be credited with stakes for all your hard work in the Electroneum Bounty Program - THANKS!!

To be fair, we are not the first - that accolade goes to Minergate who have a full miner for Android. They are the only other people I've seen attempt this. They don't have their own blockchain or cryptocurrency though and it runs your phone quite HOT! Our mining experience is super easy to do, no technical knowledge required. I'm also pretty sure that Minergate doesn't have any wallet facilities, so people need to be reasonably technical to use it. I don't want to take anything from them though - they were the first mobile miner - we've just made the whole thing slicker, easier and all wrapped up with our own blockchain.

Our miner is the only bit of Electroneum that is not decentralized I'm afraid! We've open sourced our Blockchain and Mining Pool to encourage peer to peer decentralization, but we are keeping the app's intellectual property to ourselves. The app will also only work with our pool I'm afraid.... BUT! It IS awesome.

We are going to get TONS of viral takeup of the app, just for the mining experience, and we all know on this forum what happens to people who start on the cryptocurrency journey.... they are hooked!

People who have never had access to cryptocurrency before will have some in their mobile wallet within a couple of hours of downloading a free app!

It's going to be GREAT for Electroneum, but it will also be GREAT for cryptocurrencies in general, as each new user of cryptocurrency will have to open an exchange account if they want to swap ETN for BTC or ETH (or USD!) Once they have an exchange account, they are far more likely to get involved in other currencies and be part of the community.

I have a really good feeling about the whole project! I had a GREAT meeting today with a major player in the tech world who is super connected, globally, and has nurtured more than 15 unicorns of the tech world (most of which you'd have heard of)! I don't want to name him without his permission, but if he does put his weight behind Electroneum it will be AWESOME! I'll keep everyone posted!

Sorry about that - we've modified the App Listing - while we had it in Beta it was limited to UK and US - but it's now on full international release.

At the moment signing up creates a mobile wallet which will enable you to partake in the ICO and take delivery of your Electroneum (ETN)

The mining function will become available on 1st November 2017 after the ICO closes.

Thanks for the feedback, we are awesome at building software and pretty darn good at marketing too, but this is our first journey on an ICO!

The Electroneum App is going to go viral - Imagine you mobile phone paying for itself while you use it! (or, depending on number of miners and price of ETN, offsetting the cost of use - or even making a profit).

It's SO easy to use it's crazy, so I know we'll make a monster success of getting Electroneum users - and that means more press exposure and more retail sales once we get listed on the exchanges at the end of the ICO.

I would like to take your advice, but we've given that information out to too many people, and I don't want to take anything away from what we've promised.

We are ADDING an additional layer of bonus, which will mean more viral growth, as we are going to have a REFER A FRIEND system, which will enable all participants to share an ICO link and if someone uses that link and comes on board during the ICO, the original user will be awarded some additional ETN to say "thank you!".

Thanks again for the suggestion, please keep them coming, I'm sorry I'm not able to act on this one - but the next idea might be crucial!

The app is in the android play store in Beta (which means I can just press a button and it will be live) and we are just waiting for the iOS one to pass some more Apple requirements (we've had to jump through a few hoops to define our access to the camera, which enables us to scan QR codes to make Electroneum wallet transfers on and off paper or screen).

Both iOS and Android versions should be downloadable and ready for install from the App and Play stores this week.

Your https://my.electroneum.com username and password will get you in to the app and vice versa.

We also use it in the back end between our app and our servers. It's only the main website and blog that doesn't use HTTPS.
