41  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: $40 000 to invest, is there money to make in mining? on: July 07, 2017, 05:06:26 PM
I would avoid BTC mining, unless you can do it on a larger scale. Maybe look into LTC mining (miners are really expensive, so maybe not the best move now) or other alt coins using graphics cards to mine them. If you choose a great altcoin (Zcash or ETH) you may see better returns in long run. Mining is already a lucrative industry, so why not try to choose a coin without a huge difficulty.

Watch Smallville. Its superman growing up and going through his childhood trying to understand who he is while also saving people. There are about 300 episodes with each one at 45 minutes. This should take you a while.

We will be stuck in another reality. Virtual Reality will feel and become so real that we will not even be able to tell the difference between reality and the virtual world. Another question we can ask, how do we not know if we are in a virtual world right now? Check out Elon Musk's views on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KK_kzrJPS8

What will the world be like in 100 years. I am an optimist and I see humans overcoming the many challenges we face today: Famine, climate change, terrorism, etc. Technology will advance to the point where we can eliminate most of our problems by then. Let us hope that I am right Cheesy.
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you convert cash to bitcoin anonymously? on: July 07, 2017, 03:56:30 PM
There are a two main ways to do this.
1. Use Bitcoin ATMs (limited amount you can transfer from fiat to BTC and also has terrible exchange rate)
2. Localbitcoin (Transfer your cash for bitcoin with another person, which can be risky so be careful)

Exchanges have to adhere to AML and KYC procedures, so it is very hard to circumvent this, understandably. This is to catch people money laundering or any other doing illegal activities.

I hope this helped. Good luck!
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is that safe to buy a used hardware wallet ? on: July 07, 2017, 03:48:52 PM
Yes, as long as you reset the wallet and create a new seed (new private key). Make sure to keep this new seed written down and stored in a safe place. Losing this information is very bad, as you will not be able to restore your hardware wallet and may lose all your coins.

Litecoin is strong and I see it going to $100+.

This will be exciting to see how high LTC can go. Especially with Charlie Lee (creator of LTC) working full time on the project ever since he left Coinbase.

We are living in an interesting time where people think you have to go to college to be successful. Now I am not advocating to not go or to go to college, but I think if you have an opportunity that is already in the works then maybe take a gap year. However, if you plan to sit around, then I would highly recommend going to college. This allows you to meet people, explore new interests, and possibly pursue a degree that will be meaningful to your future career.

Litecoin seems to be strong, especially as Charlie Lee (Creator of Litecoin) recently decided to leave Coinbase to work full time on Litecoin. I guess we will have to wait and find out Smiley.
