Got the airdrop with same amount as last week. From the separate list, great to see many new participants in week 5. Keep growing!

Unless they conflict each other, why not having both? Lightning Network and SegWit2X can coexist to scale the bitcoin.

That is crazy gain in one month... Wish I have some TRON. But is it sustainable to grow at this rate?

Hi, I just became to JR from newbie, may I stake 1 now?
When taking a snapshot, if you are JR, you will receive a JR-level bonus distribution Is the snapshot at the beginning of the week of new week or at the end of the week? for example, for the upcoming Jan 6, 2018 airdrop, is Dec 31 snapshot or Jan 6 snapshot counted?

Very interesting strategy. It is similar as index fund of stock market. It diversifies the portfolio by investing equally in 100 coins.

how many can i get this week?
It depends on how many qualified users participating in the campaign and there is calculation formula for it. It is fair and transparent.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes and yes
Thanks for the answers. Good to know. It looks like very promising as they are all 'yes'.

Masternodes hosting is good, but without dev, without exchange all of this does not make sense. Are there any signals from dev?
Just out of curiosity - let's say the devs from this are gone. Is there a way someone else could just revive it somehow? Sort of how Dimecoin was abandoned and is back now? Yes that is the plan i am trying to figure out what chain everyone wants and Ill let coinsmarket know and then it will work. I really dont understand why everyone is crying for dev when the coin is in motion. Does btc cry for Satoshi Nakamoto? Great point! A dev cannot do much; a community is more important!

Japan is one of the pro-bitcoin countries. Good to know that bitcoin can contribute to its GDP and boost its economy!

If devs really abandaoned the project, hope someone from the community can take it over and move it to next level in 2018. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We are closer to the January 2018 semux live net launch. 2018 will be a great year for semux!

That would be nice as users do not need to worry about storing bitcoin and can earn interest from bank.

Why did Satoshi Nakamoto create the Bitcoin protocol with 21,000,000 coins, and not with 50,000,000 or 100,000,000,000 for example?
2,100,000,000,000,000 Satoshi fit in a floating point "double" with two bits to spare. This allows programs to use standard numeric code libraries without worrying about truncation errors - there's enough to have a rounding bit and a guard bit. In contrast, Litecoin's 8,400,000,000,000,000 Satoshi is right on the limit. Try these steps in a calculator on your desktop computer: 2100000000000000 [multiply] 4 [equals] [minus] 1 [equals] [divide] 4 [equals] 2100000000000000 [multiply] 8 [equals] [minus] 1 [equals] [divide] 8 [equals] On my computer, the first calculates 2099999999999999.75 showing than no precision was lost. The second produces the original number showing that the "subtract one" was lost. Now try these: 2099999999999999 [divide] 3 [equals] [multiply] 3 [equals] 8399999999999999 [divide] 3 [equals] [multiply] 3 [equals] The first returns me to the original value, the second doesn't! This means that a Litecoin like limit would need careful handling of numbers. Thank you for the explanation. Sounds logical. The total coins does not matter much as each coin is dividable into 8 decimal places.

Got 4th week's signature campaign airdrop. The amount is smaller compared to last week. But it is good as it means more participants join the campaign. Semux community is growing!

I guess the Semux btc airdrop requires the distributors to check if the btc account had a balance at a given time, right? In the form people only provide the semux address and the signed address. How do you check if from the signature what btc address somebody used to sign? Can you reverse engineer it?
Yes, BTC balance is based on a snapshot of the bitcoin chain at block #480,000. From signed message, they know the BTC address that signs the message.

how to copy? need sync from 0% really too much he mean copy old wallet dabase folder to new rc5 folder ,but i didn't recommend this ,just new clearly sync blockchain. Yes, that is what I did and it works from RC4 to RC5. Sometime, it may not work (e.g., from RC2 to RC3 or another upgrade, do not remember exactly). Then you have to delete database folder and resync.

There are already many universities offering courses of Bitcoin / cryptocurrency. As a major, it may not happen in the near future.
|
|
|
Upgraded to rc.5. The upgrade is very smooth and I am able to copy the database folder from RC4 to RC5 to save time to resync.

|
|
Voted and it is very easy to do so. Is it like SegWit10X? Why people are talking about SegWit2X if there is already a SegWit10x?

It is possible for ETH's total market cap reach BTC total market cap. But It is much more difficult for ETH price (per coin) to reach BTC price (per coin) due to difference of total coin supply.
