41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ULC] ICO - ULACOIN(ULC) - POW&POS - 10% - C-CEX on: August 09, 2017, 11:25:56 AM
Anybody got the Ula-miner for Linux working? I cannot execute with ./ in command-line or otherwise. Any build instructions?

Will try to compile and execute from github: https://github.com/Ulacoin/Ulacoin

Let's see...
mv multichaind multichain-cli multichain-util /usr/local/bin
Connect to server : multichaind ULC@ulacoin.com -daemon
Thanks, the miner is running. It is now CPU only, correct? I really don't understand the online guide. How do I send mined coins to my wallet?? What command?

start Miner- Send
enter your wallet
send ULC

Thanks for your help. But that doesn't work for Linux. Anyone sending to web-wallet on Linux?

Meanwhile, if you use Ubuntu, use this guide for easy compiling: http://thecryptoworld.org/comment-compiler-ccminer-sur-ubuntu

I get 2MH/s more in total compared to palgin's mod on my rig with 980 Ti and 970 ^^

Thanks for the mod!

Very interesting project. Investing some mining power into it as it still seems to be the early days Smiley

Any plans on adding the coin to whattomine.com? Maybe that will also help in generating awareness for the coin and project.

Good lord, 154 pages with just newbies and low rank members, have you ever thought about if there is any back door? don't you all idiots know anything about covert mining boost? Cheesy now keep mining and waste your electricity and time.

Can you enlighten us Newbies? Elaborate?

I have the feeling many senior members like this coin and support it. Any coin could potentially have a back door implemented...

Thanks, if I don't manage to compile or sync on Ubuntu I will set up a wallet on Windows and mine on Ubuntu Wink. Thanks for the heads-up on Helium  Grin

The sync could take 16 hours. I'm thinking of uploading the current blockchain to my mega account to save others some time.

For Ubuntu users: the pre-compiled wallet from the website worked afterall. Took a while until the daemon found the network. So make sure to let it run and sync e.g. overnight.

I can confirm that syncing takes at least 16 hours Tongue
Would be nice to get a backup from mega Smiley

After reading your post I though to give this a go on my Ubuntu rig (16.04 LTS) but ran into multiple issues.

The wallet on the official site seems out of date and does not sync with the blockchain.
Any attempt on building the latest github build fails as I cannot obtain some dependencies for the QT5 compilation.
Anybody more lucky in setting up the Ubuntu wallet?

UPD: https://github.com/palginpav/ccminer/releases/download/1.1/ccminer-1.1-skunk.tar.gz - Fixed Linux binary, now working not only on high-end CPUs, also a bit different kernel code and built with CUDA 7.5. Please, test and reply.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for this! I have an Ubuntu 16.04 system with GTX 980 Ti and 970, Cuda v 7.5. Went from 28 MH/s to 41 MH/s! Epic work!
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HOW TO SET UP OVERCLOCKING AND FAN CONTROL ON UBUNTU 16.04 FOR NVIDIA CARDS on: July 28, 2017, 12:13:37 PM
Thanks for the guide, was very helpful. Can you control fan speed of 2 or more cards?
For some reason, I can only control fans of one card, but not both (I have a 980 Ti and 970 installed, 980 Ti is adjustable). Works flawless otherwise.

Assuming your fan controls are built to Nvidia spec, this activates both card controls:

sudo nvidia-xconfig -a --cool-bits=28 --allow-empty-initial-configuration

Doing it via the Nvidia X Server Settings

GPU 0 or GPU 1

Thermal Settings, move slider to the desired fan speed and click apply.

Or, you can create sh profile and attach it to the startup as the guide explains.
It was actually my mistake. I installed the second card after I modified xconfig with your command, so it did not add the string to the second GPU entry in the config file. I reran the command  and rebooted. Works as expected now. Thanks a lot Smiley
