The total coins is too small at the moment and big shark are waiting to swallow millions but the supply is only thousands.  Buying volume does not mean anything as the shark will pop the price when mining network hashrate increases.

This is new crypto and many miners are still struggling to optimize the mining rig or get it running.  The difficulty will means development of ASIC much longer.  It took a year to develop scrypt ASIC and probably 3 to 5 years for a memory upgradable ASIC solutions.  At such low price it will deter the ASIC hardware investment as well.  Currently there is no sustainable buying volume and I see VTC prices will stabalise eventually to 0.023 ~ 0.026 this 2 days and until the selling volume hit 1,000,000 .... 1 day mining  produce 50 x 60 / 2.5 x 24 =  VTC = 28800.  If Invester want $30k a day a mining a year only make $10 million which is only 15% of DOGE capitalization.

To scale up the usable network to have $1 billion network in a year you need VTC price up 100x which is more profitable than LTC of price up 60x in a year.

Direct USD conversion will be 1 VTC = $100 USD instead of $1 now.

So the network hashrate need to scale up by 100x from now 4GH to 400GH/s or 500% LTC network.  Holding 10k VTC will be millionaire equivalent.

Well your math checks out, but since I'm no economy master I'll trust you on the logic Smiley

Thanks and please keep posting your thoughts like that Smiley

Values are psychological and crypto is the right place. All commodties weight by physical units like pounds, units of quantity, one dozen etc.

Naked short selling is not possible but a 51% could be given such a low network hashrate now.  Fortunately most scrypt are ASIC and I guess there are at least 100GH/s scrypt are ASIC now as DOGE is easily pump up and down at will and 80% DOGE concentrated in less than 0.8% address has proven the ASIC centralization has happened.

VERT is speculation proof and difficult to scale up like DOGE due to expensive DDR RAM.  I wish before network expand, miners can implement human proof as a decentralize as mining activities is still 100% machine and very less human required.  Which means bankers are machines and not human.  To make crypto more human it must have human factor inside and ID password with 2FF or multiple authentication with pictures helps as a proof of human interactions

You can add sound authentication as well.
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2453515,00.asp

Miner client can even implement  sound authentication on top of digital authentication.

The key is not about authntication but a proof that each miner is a human instead of a dead ASIC zombie is more important factor of decentralization.  If the miners are decentralize by region, it is easily done in the network address resolution congestion diversion algorithm.  Example of theory: ( Take note that the theory applies on physical optical network but the same concept can applies to hashing power )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmessage
BitMessage built with BitCoin core.

To achieve human recognition, this a BitMessage can be used to broadcast a Message randomly into the wallet address of miners and miners need to response with an answer during the deposit process.  VTC can be the postage fee for anyone who want to use encrypted BitMessge service provided by the VTC network.

The trading volume in cryptsy alone is 3days of total VTC mined.  28800 VTC is about 72 BTC or $50k @ 0.0025 but the trading volume is 200~300 BTC.

Daily rewards comparison
Reward last 24h
4,250 BTC
($2,754,608 USD)

34,600 LTC
($550,913 USD)

3,267 PPC
($13,891 USD)

329,254,973 DOGE
($480,633 USD)

http://bitinfocharts.com/

VTC has beaten PPC Peercoin for daily rewards now 28800 x 0.025 BTC aprox USD $50k.  PPC is running ASIC @ 140TH/s which is only 40 KNC miners in a room.

KNC miners at $13k and 3.5TH/s will need 100 days to break even if PPC price remain unchanged.

Increasing memory requirement does not deter ASIC as centralized banking capitalist has infinite resources so memory demand only shift to memory demands.   Cost deterance or pure hardware resources does not promote miners and miners are pure machines.

one way of decetralize by human and not decentralize geographically is using 2FF.

To decentralize by human the technique can copy from 2FF authentication.  If crypto network randomly request miners for 2FF we can ensure human are real and decentralized.    This method needed a protocol and miner clients changed.

This will shift demands of resource of memory to human and possibly create jobs.

Every business there is potential scam.  Learn how to deal with it.  The technology behind is useful to improve with experiment and deal with all problems and improve.  Remember that the crypto is still in experimental with version upgrade constantly and even possible forked out clones and modified version with different parameters.  Real hackers don't make loudspeakers and tell the whole world, BTC is hacked!

When all the scrypt copy/clone out from LTC, it actually lend credits to LTC.  BitCoin also have tonnes of clones.

When VERTCOIN is out, only one scrypt-vert Panda coin out is too little.  The market is big enough to digest more clones and more ideas.

WU varies between 650 and 750. No HW or rejects. Pool difficulty varries.

Yeah I see that ... its the same for me. You notice that the Pool difficulty is not varying but increasing.  Based on your screenshot you just restarted and miner and having small shares.  First the pool difficulty start with 16 and you could have very high WU even higher than hashrate.  When it stabalize after few minutes to difficulty 128 and above the WU seems max out at 90% of Hashrate.

Below screenshot is R9 290 Elpida.

--no-submit-stale --gpu-vddc 1 --gpu-fan 100 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 24000 -g 1 -I 20 --worksize 512 --gpu-powertune +20 --lookup-gap 2

It seems to me modded Vertcoin-CGMinerAleks_NR3 is more stable than buggy vertminer-0.5.2.  Verminer after crash cannot restart fresh like cgminer and need reboot Windows.

BTW vertminer options need to change --scrypt to --scrypt-vert

I managed to get my 2x R9 280x vapor x working @ 375kh/s each

here are my settings:

setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum12.dogehouse.org:9091 -u x -p x -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1076,1072 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 ---temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-target 75 --auto-fan

,
"intensity" : "13",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"auto-fan" : true,
"gpu-fan" : "70-80,70-80",
"gpu-engine" : "1076,1072",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "10,10",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"expiry" : "30",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"scan-time" : "5"

Temperatures are 59 for first and 70 degrees for the second one.

Any recomandations for some risers? I can't seem to make up my mind on what I see online.

Can share 3 more info?

1. Pool Difficulty for the Worker
2. Reject, Hardware Error, Working Unit
3. Miner version cgminer? verminer?

I notice my hashrate remains over 440kH for R290 but WU fluctuate depending on the pool difficulty for worker.  When difficulty is below 32, WU is very close to 400.  When the difficulty going up to 64,128 or even 256, the W.U. drop drastically to less than 380kH/s.

If you have 2 GPU most likely I guess your difficulty will be maximum at 256 or more and WU propably only 70% of 375x2 = 525kH/s if you are using traditional pool.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge - Only 0 more blocks for Dogecoin rewards to halve. Doge has Halved!! on: February 14, 2014, 04:50:00 AM
hash rate remain high and small GPU miners will operate at a loss.  Only ASIC farms remains so you can see in fact the whole DOGECOIN network hashrate largely own by ASICS and possibly the Chinese scrypt mining companies.

If mining for profits is by small miners and judge by returns there will be drastic drop in hashrate to other ASIC resistant crypto network.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coin backed by Gold needs coders on: February 14, 2014, 01:46:42 AM
This idea is very sensible and possible as this is no difference to Amazon card.  The owner sell goods or numbers that own by itself is merging the commodity to crypto currency.

The next evolution is the unit is the physical commodity quantity like pounds, ounces, barrel, tonnes etc.

This means the system only need minimum one miner which is the owner itself and with the owner deciding the transaction fee as payout with zero mining quantity.  The more production of the owner will produce more crypto numbers.  This is very different to how the mining works but a crypto commodities number network run by the owners.

Gold producers like yourself will be one node.  When all the Gold producers join together the network of producers of common goods expand.  You can start with one miners and this does not need competition of miners as producers directly guarantee the payout and you does not need miners for these crypto network because blockchains will exist even after power off.  For buyers which prefer to keep the crypto numbers instead of physicals, the vault will run by another miners which earn mining fees which in turn pay by the buyers.  Unless the Gold owners collectively own the vault and willing to pay for the network.

To ride on the success of BITCOIN, the first step is reuse the BTC network like Ripple in Singapore but that incur high administration cost and has no fundamental advantage for Gold hoarders.

This crypto numbers of commodities will evolve and extend into a super basket of commodities network which will then produce a new version of currency that is backed by all these commodities and operate differently from BTC which was produce from out of nothing.

Guys, i need your help! i have got 3 machines and none of them can run intesnity above 12! i get tons of HW.

At first i thought that it was a  RAM problem, then i have added 4 more gigs for a total of 8 gigs, but it didnt help!

I have 280x,7950 and r9 290. None of them can run intensity above 12 with out HW.

I have tried adding setx commands etc.
Lowering Core, memory. Does not help.
Im using vertminer 0.5.3 also tried 0.5.2

Any ideas?

i would really love to mine this coin, but with intensity  12, i get around 200khs on each card Cry

TC less than 8192?

Too much random comments without any proofs or arguments.

Vertcoin is seen as a good currency in a world ravaged by asic scrypt miners. We're are very far from it. So nobody needs vertcoin now.
Still, it could be a good currency, but they are very few support around it. Few apps, few merchants.
So, why should the price be high now ?

So my guess is a slow decreasing price for months until maybe a big asic scrypt miners hit.

Yes.  The ASIC scrypt miners are still in stealth operations.

For those unfamilar with stock trading...

From Friday 7th to (at least the 11th*) the exchanges have been pretty much in what a stock trader would call an accumulation pattern.
None of the three exchanges have been exempt from it... Bter has been just as bad as Crypsty...

The Big Sells (and Buys) are from a mere few whales who have acquired enough stock to bully the price around... (usually by trading Bitcoin in to get fat)

The Big Buy/Sell markers prevent us smaller timers from having a naturally adjusted price.
They then prey on those who panic sell into their range, (and also those who sell blindly and do not care about the price at the time, but just want their BTC).

Anyone selling now is only serving to feed the whales... And as long as they get fed.... That price is staying down...
When they have had their fill... The will pull their markers and give the price a good hard shove upwards, dump and then resume the gradual drive down to get more (if they think people will still be in it)

The ONLY way the cycle ends, is when the little guys (most of us) either run out of coin and lose interest (quit), or wise up and start to hold hold hold...
Whatever happens,  At some point the whale HAS to send the price back up... or else take a big hit...

------------

You can take the estimates with a grain of salt (I am no pro, that is certain), but based on what I have seen on BTer, I think unless the price goes back to 0.00540 one whale is going to lose some cash, and unless it goes back over 0.00580 he won't be making much profit (at least not at the Margins a whale takes the risk for)

Of course those values given above depend on the BTC / USD price (which is still the benchmark for all cryptocoin)

Either way I would be very very surprised if we dont see 0.00550 again sometime in the next few days, if not a spike back up to 0.00600 over the weekend.

-------------

Annoying as the market manipulation may be, There IS a silver lining, and what I am seeing is Volume Improvement....
Anywhere there remains sustained and increasing volume, there is value... and MORE importantly product exposure...

I know of at least two very well regarded individuals on a major stock-market forum, who took an interest in Vert (wouldn't surprise me if they are the Cryptsy traders peeps are hating, to be honest)... And one thing I have seen from these guys over the past few years, is they do NOT miss often with their money...

Whatever the trading clowns do, Im holding the VTC I am mining tight, and waiting for the opportunities to spend it to arrive...

-------------

*Lastly all the above aside, I have to concede the tumble in the last 6-8 hours sits OUTSIDE my expectations for an accumulation pattern (perhaps the whale met a kraken, and got snared) ...  Be Careful !!!

The whale are playing fair with the rules and I think there is nothing wrong with any buy/sell technique or move price with BTC.  Only problem in FIAT world is naked short selling with nothing you have on hands and push price down.

A more transparency on the exchange net BTC and net Alt coins published will promote more healthy exchange.

There is exchange of 2 different crypto and there is no way to know the numbers of BTC that buy the price up or the Alt coins that dump the price down balance in the first place.

I believe exchange will run into a problem of short of some ALT coins or BTC for example the deposit and withdraw and the transactions of BTC does not add up or balance at any one time.

Could exchange have the same situation like MTGOX with bank run that withdraw has difficulty because of imbalance deposits and withdrawal?  I could see that the exchange happen only in a different mechanism where the deposits are unchanged at the deposit address.  The trading transaction just add/minus the deposits during an exchange without actually using the blockchains value transfer.

Is 280 new low for DOGE?  Shocked
It will be interesting to see the effect of the Olympics and Reward Halving on the price tomorrow and these coming weeks.
I think price easily shoot up to 500 satoshi

Total market capitalization in terms of USD values for BTC/LTC/DOGECOIN drop 30% from peak $12 Billion to $8 Billion Total shed off $4 Billion from the crypto network with MTGOX news

market share of DOGECOIN is now 1% only at $88 million, LTC at 5% at $440 million and 94% BTC $7798 million.

Just giving a shoutout to http://vtc.crypto-pool.fr/. It's a good stable pool that's small at the moment but I've had consistent payouts and it hasn't gone down on me before Smiley. And it's small (I know, repeating), so it helps to spread the hashrate.

I spent 12 hours mining on this pool and saw no payouts...from the calc, I should be looking at around 2 VTC/day, rather than zero. Nothing unconfirmed, nothing confirmed, have other people been getting more regular payouts from other pools?

I wasted 3 times trying 3 different P2Pool 12 hours each and get zero payout as well.  The P2Pool is not more liable than the traditional pool unless the client design is changed.

Not all traditional pool is risk free and the same thing also happen to traditional pool as I encounter 10% of time pool scam and lower than expected payout, server down, missing transactions as well.  I can get max calculated 70% payout as i believe the real network hashrate is only a guessing work.

Hi!

Deposits are credited after 1 confirmation, plus up to sixty seconds, at https://CryptX.io.

Is there anything else I can do or add that could win your business?

Hi CryptX.io - nice to see attentive customer service there - added you guys to the official vertcoin.org site.

Yes same here.  My Cryptsy took long time to show up as well.  Maybe there is a auto account freezed logic when you create support ticket.

http://vtc.kilovolt.co.uk/index.php seems compromised again.  No transactions update and no payout and zero unconfirmed.

There is no issue and the pool is not compromised.  If you have a specific support request concerning an individual transaction or your account then please come to IRC #vertcoin on freenode and pm me (Aleks_N) and we will get it sorted.  People are being paid out as normal when blocks are found after 120 confirms.  It would be nice to get a support request before suggesting we have a genuine issue.

Thanks

you use mirc?

Thanks for the update.  I saw there is sharp decline on pool hashrate so I thought something wrong again
http://vtc.kilovolt.co.uk/index.php?page=statistics&action=graphs

I also trying to monitor the transactions because seems no update for 4 hours.  The average transactions I have with your pool and other pool was like 1 to 2 hours with auto payout.  The mining has no issues and I can see the hashrate is stable.
