43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] alt-co.in Opens Automated Escrow Service on: December 05, 2013, 04:54:06 PM
Hi Jay,

I was wondering what's up with the site as I can't login anymore. Everytime I login it says i'm logged in as a guest user and it tells me to register. This happens on all browsers.
Wasn't sure where else to reach you as there's no contact info on the website, i tried info@, dev@, support@.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'll go take a look right now.  Can you PM me your username so I can see what's up?
I haven't had any other reports of login troubles, so let's hope this is just an isolated problem.

If anyone else is having login woes, just give me a shout!
44  Economy / Services / Re: Website Preview: BITADS.NET. Now Pay-Per-Day! on: December 05, 2013, 04:51:41 PM
I see an option to flag a site as http:// or https://.

However, it seems non-functional.  When viewing any site in my account after creation, they seem to be an http://, and this is preventing me from creating adspaces that BitAds can detect on secure servers.

Also, where can we see view/click metrics for our ads?  I'm curious to see how much bang I'm getting for my buck here.

Price has tanked.  Anyone still mining?

Yes, always.

You can now buy GME with a credit card at https://alt-co.in/buy-crypto/

Deposits are instant into your alt-co.in account.

Can we add this to the main post, pretty please?

Pool updated to mpos

www.coin-base.net/game/

Tossing ~200khash at the pool, seems pretty decent.

Great to see you've launched your Minecraft service jayo89. I've updated the initial post.  Cool

Can you get paid Gamecoins for playing minecraft?Huh

Once the service gains some traction, there will be in interactive marketplace where in-game commodities cam be bought and sold for GME.

Also, since there won't be any Diamonds available that weren't mined from the digital ground, early joiners to the server just might have an easier time finding some before the competition heats up Wink
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play Minecraft with Crypto! https://alt-co.in/minecraft/ on: October 21, 2013, 06:37:50 PM
Not bad.
Can I sell my MC for GME? Tongue

The plan is to implement a system on-site where users can buy and sell in-game goods.

A cornerstone behind this idea is that items sold on the marketplace will have all been produced in-game, no auto-generated stuff.  Everything on the marketplace will have been produced, mined, or otherwise obtained through gameplay.  This means no fear of players entering, dumping a bunch of coin on valuable materials and gear, and monopolizing the server.  It also means the distribution of resources within the world will stay correct and prices of commodities will properly shift with supply and demand.

And it's not just item markets in the works.  We're looking at transportation, enchantments, Real Estate, all sorts of ways to make Minecraft a little more interesting with the introduction of an actual economy.

  • If you stumble upon some diamond, will you use it to build better tools to improve your operation, or sell them for some quick GME?
  • Will you grow your own food, buy it from a supplier, or become a farmer and earn coin through that avenue?
  • How about buildings? Do you want to find your own materials, or buy them from the market and get right to building?  Perhaps you could hire someone else's architectural expertise for your next castle!

(It also hopefully goes without saying that Creative Mode servers will be exempted from the marketplace.)

I've launched a new service over at alt-co.in, allowing members to purchase time on Minecraft Servers with GME.

In the works is a web-based marketplace, where players can exchange their in-game commodities and services with eachother for GME as well.
(That's right kids, if you're diligent you just might get paid to play).

check it out over at https://alt-co.in/minecraft.

In other GME News, the alt-co.in slots are also running a GME-related promotion, aiming to get more coin into more hands: https://alt-co.in/slots.php

Hey guys, do we have a separate topic for buying/selling things with GME?

Don't wanna gum this one up with those shenanigans if it can be avoided Tongue

UPDATE: We're currently running a GME-giveaway promo. The next ten new users to sign up and provide bitcointalk as the promo code will receive a 1000 GME sign-up bonus!

Updated OP to reflect.  Will update again once the promo coins are all gone.

Alright guys, It's been a while, but here's a little update:

First are foremost, we've moved to a much meatier server, and performed all sorts of optimization on our code and internal processes.  For you guys, this translates to a faster, smoother experience sitewide.

We've shifted the coins we support a little, dropping some of the slower/riskier/less popular coins, and seeking to find a couple new up-and-comers.  IFC is a possibility if the blockchain stabilizes (I've been hearing about some issues, and it seems like a bit of a risk at the moment).  Currently supported coins on the Slots are GME, FTC, BQC, WDC, DGC.

Our automated escrow service is also still in operation, supporting a few coins that the slots do not Currently supported coins on the Escrow are GME, LTC, FTC, BQC, WDC, DGC, CNC.

Finally, in the next week or so, we'll be launching a crypto-accepting Minecraft server portal.  Members can play on premium Minecraft servers with coins straight out of their alt-co.in wallet.

The flagship of this entire project is a sort of Out-of-game Store, where players can buy and sell in-game items and commodities for crypto. That measn those diamonds you just dug up in-game are worth money.

We're hoping to add a whole new rush to the Minecraft gaming experience.  Turf wars over valuable mining land,  Contractors selling their architectural expertise, the possibilities are pretty broad and I'm exited to see how this all plays out (pardon the pun).

For now the plan is to initially launch the Server Portal with GME Support Only.  However, if people start voicing interest in the service and paying with another coin, the suggestions won't fall on deaf ears.

So, thoughts?  Suggestions?  A corny joke perhaps?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GameCoin (GME) - MANDATORY UPDATE to v0.8.4.0 on: September 16, 2013, 05:09:37 PM
No, I am just completely fed up of the utter lack of support for the coin. It really doesn't matter how I tweak it, if there is no real miner support it'll make very little difference to the overall result.

You need to STOP tweaking immediately.  a new nark fork every other week is murder to a coin's support.
If there is lack of support for the coin, it is not the fault of the people that refuse to support it, you need to give them a reason to.

Right now, GME is looking wavery as all hell because ther is a new mandatory update every couple of weeks.  Every time one of those needs to be released, you're essentially announcing to everyone that the system was flawed before.  It's difficult to gather support for a coin when you're essentially giving the message that it's got all kinds of problems that need to be constantly addressed.

To create support for the coin we need infrast5ructure that accepts this coin.  More effort needs to be put form on that than tweaking the coin, because even a perfect coin is going to have no support if no one will take it as money.

That being said, I'll be opening up a Minecraft server that will accept GME/LTC/ and possibly BTC as payment for server access and in-game resources.  This will eventually include a web-based marketplace where players can offer up their resources for sale.  We may also offer up Minecraft Game Codes for crypto as well if there's interest.

Fantastic work, everyone!  I was blown away when i noticed our little coin has blown up on cryptsy.

The good news is, this tells me that our little birdie definitely has some wings, which means I'll be focusing more of my personal time to porjects related to GameCoin, and making it simple and easy for developers and content providers to start using it as money.

That beingt said, if anyone has a game/game related business and you'd like to start accepting GameCoin as payment and need a little help, give me a shout.

And as for the coin being mined into oblivion... every system has rogue elements, and you can't always blame them for taking advantage of a situation.  However, excessively preying on a coin's weakness in this manner seeks to alert the developers quite quickly of a weakness in their difficulty algorithm.  Now we know, and now we can fix it.

There is something to be learned from every experience, and the coin will come out stronger for it, provided we keep learning as we grow.

Great to see you back! We really have a nice Dev-team now

Thanks!  I've been bogged down to all hell with my day-job and other personal projects, but I'm so glad to see our little community is alive and kicking, and (for the most part) working together so well.

I'm really excited to see where things are going to go from here.
