41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: can exchange services sell my personal data? on: August 05, 2019, 05:12:58 PM
Hello! What is an average fee you pay to crypto exchanger? I use changelly and pay just 0.25% and I think this is pretty weird. How do they make money? Sometimes I think that they sell users data and I'm thinking to pick another exchanger.

You cannot compare them with exchange, because you cannot define your price for the coins you want to buy or sale.
They are just connecting you with some of the exchanges and act as a middle man for the percentage of the price.

Regarding your question from where are they making  money? You are aware how much trades are executed every second? Wink
Now try to calculate their daily profit and you will get the picture about amounts they are scraping of top.

42  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [Help] Planiram prodati kuću i uzeti btc za long term on: August 05, 2019, 04:53:28 PM

Cool
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do privacy coins do so poorly? on: August 04, 2019, 07:12:07 PM
Even the best known one, Monero, has <1% of the market cap of bitcoin, it's really shameful. Is the reason these coins do so poorly because they are badly designed (which could be everything from the issuance to the mining to the cryptographic protocol to the governance), or is it because no one cares about privacy? Or is it because privacy is difficult to achieve today because of lack of DEX?

Have you seen any store that accept Monero? I still haven't, but I know a lot of stores mainly computer and electronic shops that accept BTC so that is the answer to your question. If world politics starts changing and people suddenly feel the need to hide for god knows what reasons, then you will see rise on demand for privacy coins. But it's unlikely that regular shops that sells TV and washing machines would need to hide their customers privacy.

That kind of coins will be reserved for something else and are probably used even as we speak for kind of stuff where people don't feel comfortable to state their full name or credit card number that can be traced to them.

44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [AUG 2019] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: August 04, 2019, 07:02:06 PM
Unfortunately, they are not. I am sure that Trezor team is well aware of this since there is a wiki entry about it.

They have stated "not yet supported" but I am not sure for how long that statement  have been on their wiki page.
Not sure if any other  hardware wallet supports RBF in their native wallet without connecting to third party like Electrum.

What about Ledger or KeepKey?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTOPIA SHUTTING DOWN: Investor losses on: August 04, 2019, 03:14:44 PM
Exactly no more updates from them, better I did not store coins in their exchange. I’ve heard many had lost their funds on this exchange. Never store coins in an exchange that is not secured.

What do you mean by this "exchange that is not secured"?
You are aware that some people like daily traders are trading all the time on hourly base 7 days a week. Exchange is actually their playground, not some bus station where they just unload or load goods and bags an leave without turning back.

Also bunch of people didn't withdraw funds due to fees they pay, so every person has their own story why it had coins on the platform at the time of hacking. Things are not black and white as some people are trying to present them now.
46  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We need decentralized exchanges on: August 04, 2019, 02:50:38 PM

But let's face it most people like decentralized exchange but couldn't use it on every crypto.
We are stuck in centralized because most of the famous and known exchange are CEX.
But if there would be a DEX for all crypto why wouldn't people choose it?
After all crypto is design for being decentralized for anonymity and for financial freedom to be out from those third parties .

You are looking this from only one point of view, yours.
Now let's assume that you are actually a company owner that wants to start implementing crypto in your everyday business.
You want to buy some crypto and get receipt for that, you also want to sell it and get receipt for that also, you want to make reports for IRS to be clean in front of the government, you want to be able to call someone if something goes wrong in any moment, you want to be able to sue someone if something goes wrong with your money, for example they got hacked.

All this are valid reasons to go on centralized exchange. Cool

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [JULY 2019] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: August 04, 2019, 02:12:55 PM
Earlier this morning I had a transaction of 1 sat/Byte was confirmed in less than 10 minutes then I made another transaction and that was again confirmed in less then 10 mins then again I made another transaction and this one is still unconfirmed LOL. Only few hours gone I think. However I know it will be confirmed sooner or later.

There is no point to spend 50x or 100x times for transaction fees if you are really not in hurry. One in a thousand time I end up using 20 sat/Byte :-P

Regarding this transactions of 1 satoshi/Byte, did your transactions ever get stuck permanently with so low fees? Huh
I see that Trezor hardware wallet still doesn't support RBF in their native BTC wallet, only way to use Replace-by-fee (RBF) would be to connect Trezor to Electrum wallet to secure low fee transaction from going to limbo Undecided

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: August 04, 2019, 06:43:32 AM
anyone can tell me,
the causes why this project in red colour, when a lot of good altcoin project in green colour ?
thanks

I have asked my self that same question for a year now, still cannot comprehend what is happening with the charts.
They have a working products in place, steady development, nice spread around different exchanges but the price is just drooping monthly and I don't see any movement to the upper levels around the corner. Angry

The more products they have, the more price is dipping under, that's just doesn't make any sense for me. Huh
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing ZKP privacy without trusted setup on: August 04, 2019, 06:19:21 AM
Hi, where do I download blockchain?

There are some sites refreshing up-to date XZC blockchain for download on weekly basis, but that is not recommended for obvious reasons. XZC Wallet has very fast update of blocks and it weights less then 14 GB on this day so I don't see why would you risk it with some 3rd party blocks anyway. Security must always be one ladder higher than convenience.

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The Monopoly of Binance on: August 03, 2019, 10:02:32 AM
Every to fast or rapidly growing business that eventually eat competitors becomes monopoly at some time, if there is not some regulatory hand to slow it down either with strictly set boundaries or with some kind of de-stimulating factors where business decides it's just not worth it to grow anymore.

People have influence in this outcome after all, if not so much people would use it as a reference then it wouldn't grow to become monopoly in the first place.

51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I just had all my bitcoins stolen and I don't understand how it happened on: August 03, 2019, 08:24:11 AM

..... As Luke JR would put it, if you aren't running a full node you aren't using Bitcoin.

If that was absolutely true then you would never go out from your house or a flat and use your bike or motorcycle instead we would all live our life under the iron doom and if we need to go out to our friend or to our jobs we would order armored vehicle. This is the same statement as that every bitcoiner must run a full node. Don't get me wrong I agree with the statement about  armored vehicle being more secure then a bike, but it's just not possible for majority of people and especially for something that we try to achieve and that is better adoption on the bigger scale.

52  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: missing funds on: August 03, 2019, 08:04:47 AM
Probably there was an popup box from Electrum wallet update leading to scammed Electrum update site, same happened to some other folks who lost the funds in the same manner. Any other thing that could happen is compromised seeds. Cry

Here is the link to that case:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5170714.msg52012528#msg52012528

This is definitely something for all of us to learn from, lots of people would automatically click on the update from the wallet because they are maybe in the hurry to pay for something and they would never suspect anything.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trump’s Ex Advisor Steve Bannon Says Cryptocurrencies Have a Big Future’ on: August 03, 2019, 07:42:28 AM
We just need some better adoption, all this hyper ramps from any of the billionaires or visionaries can bring us only another bull run and nothing more. Most people are happy with that result but real adoption comes from steady implementations from the side of small people. From example when you go to local barber shop and they start accepting BTC or to some garage sale in your street where you can pay with BTC.

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Denarius [D] - Originator "Tribus" PoW/PoS Hybrid Masternodes, Native Tor on: August 02, 2019, 06:31:00 AM
Any news regarding that integration with hardware wallets?
At some point there were some plans for integration with Ledger, what happened with that part?

Don't know is that manageable right now but it would be great for people to be able to store Denarius onto some kind of cold wallet at the same time it would have huge impact on coin from the marketing perspective and a lot of potential new customers would maybe hear for Denarius. Wink

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing ZKP privacy without trusted setup on: August 01, 2019, 10:03:51 AM
What should be enough time for the upgrade from your standpoint?
You are aware of the fact that some  people are on vacation for 2 months or even more, they can also say that they didn't have enough time to prepare because someone didn't tell them 3 months ahead.

I can agree with you that they didn't selected best time period for this upgrade but from the perspective all others that did actually made upgrade we can conclude that major part of owners did found time to do it on time.

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between Bitcoin and Facebook's Libra on: July 31, 2019, 08:10:26 PM
I cannot even understand why people are comparing this two when they are not even on the same level, they do not even stand for the same values.

One thing was open source project while other one will be Frankenstein made with corporate money that serves only one goal to jeopardize even more freedom while at the same time steeling your privacy to sell you even more stuff that you could buy with their currency.

What is even more disgusting is the fact that people will eventually accept something like that because it's convenient and effortless. Just take a look on how much online tabloids people are commenting daily events with their Facebook account.

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption Over Bull Run on: July 31, 2019, 07:52:25 PM
Most of those that want to see an altcoin season do not really care about the adoption and the success of the coins they are holding, they want profits and they want them now, so adoption is not really what they are looking for, they want their coins to be hyped, they want high volatility levels since that has the tendency to drive prices up, once you understand what they want then it is easy to see why most members show no interest in the adoption of most coins, so while you are correct in your analysis you got the motivations of most people wrong.

You are 100% correct, and that was most visible when crypto when down with the price. Most of hyped users went to some kind of hibernation sleep forgetting crypto altogether.

All this people that want adoption must ask them selves what have they done to make it more real for other people around them. You can always talk to people, help them to download some wallets on their phones, transfer them small amount of some cheap coins that cost you same one cup of coffee just to push them in that direction. You can try to sale some junk from you basement on your local adds with notice that you also accept crypto as a way of payment. Wink

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing ZKP privacy without trusted setup on: July 31, 2019, 07:18:50 PM
Any news about the fork ? All seems all right ?
How many masternodes were exclude from reward queue because not updated to 0.13.8.2 ?

This kind of thing was always responsibility of masternode owners, when your node goes offline from the network or you stop getting rewards then you know it's time to check up on things  Grin
But I am sure that people have scheduled this date at least 10 days before so no one should be surprised by this, maybe someone who is already on vacations somewhere without internet if that is even possible at the time we are living in.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to mine with GTX 1050Ti? on: July 28, 2019, 04:30:54 PM
Hello there,

I never mined any altcoin before, can anyone help me which altcoin i can mine with GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 GPU.
Please tell me one which is profitable.

Cheers.

If you just want to dip your toes in mining you can try to mine with Nicehash, just to see amount your card can actually give you in USD value over 24 hour period, after that you can decide if that is worth your electricity and your time.

Also you can test how much hashrate you get on each algo but that is something you can find online trough different charts that people created trough time.

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex coin, why not? on: July 28, 2019, 01:24:46 PM
It's obvious that they have other ways of getting in fresh capital money. They don't need their own coin to the the same thing with even more involvement that requires more people from their side and additional worries, not to mention effort to be clear from breaking any law or regulation they must do regarding the strict laws that binds them in the states.

On the other side people would expect to gain something from that coin and that means less money for the exchange from the current fees they collect.
