Maybe on RPi it is easier to install php and use the bundled cgminer.php to access the API...

When i think about the setup with the cables... connecting a second board this way would mean that the power would flow completely through the first board until it goes to the second one.
No, it doesn't flow through the entire PCB and its power conveter circuits. It will flow just through the PCB traces between the PCI-E connector and the green power connector. As burnin states, these few cm of traces between those 2 connectors are rated for the current of 2 boards (1 non-overclocked board about 40W, so the traces are rated probably for 80-100 W at 12V, which would mean 6-7 A).

Steps:
1. get firmware .hex file and PIC32UBL.exe on windows (or pic32prog under Linux).
2. Preparations: Switch off PSU and remove all cables from BitBurner XX
So also the CAN cables should be removed? As I understand it, each Bitburner board has its own PIC. Should we update each board separately one by one? Or the update is needed only for the "main" board that will be actually connected to computer via USB?

!! Will two different CPUs work? !!
No.
Every 2 (or 4) socket system must use exactly the same CPUs. One of the reasons is that both CPUs must have access to all memory and must be able in-validate each other's cache data.

At least here in Switzerland DHL operates an own import department where VAT and customs are processed and you get charged within one week after parcel was delivered. Most often they take the declared value of gods from the attached documents and add some processing fee (like 40 CHF per processed parcel), but I also had cases where they re-estimated value (e.g. on used goods with obviously too low price tags).
@zefir: What was the declared price on those 10.000 chips?

Great! Thanks @eraziel.  Smiley

Can anyone comment on the CAN-BUS question ...

Where to buy CAN-BUS Stacking cable? (besides directly from burnin's site)
Googling "CAN-BUS Stacking Cable" isn't much help.  Some instructions for the
DIY stacking cable kit would be great as well.
It was mentioned here several pages back...
You need one 10-pin ribbon cable: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10647
And then for each board you need one this connector: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10650
Then you make a cable with many connectors on it spaced evenly.
48  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: July 22, 2013, 08:21:30 PM
can't replicate the problem here...
but if this persists i have to close it down.
Seem to work also for me (didn't finish checkout yet, but see only my items). But when I recalculated the shipping, it changed to 203e for 4 boards...

The shop multiplies delivery costs by the number od boards...

Yes, I also got too high delivery cost...
50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: July 22, 2013, 06:51:59 PM
First one is correct but its only connector and other is only wires no connectors and need to attach it yourself.

This is correct one with cable 6in and 2 female 2pin connectors.
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8535

I was under the impression that up to 16 boards can be on one cable so if you need more than 2 boards you have to custom make your cable.
Yes that is correct. The ready cable is good only for 2 boards without possibility to add another board.
So you should buy one long cable + the same number of connectors as you have boards. It should be easy to install the connectors, just snap the cable in and connector will strip the insulation off.

Oh god. Why open the webshop at 21:00? It's like asking for the webshop to be DDoS'd by the customers. Opening should have been at 6 o'clock in the morning or something to make it smooth.

The way it is now is bound to cause problems.
We aren't talking about the whole world ordering new iStuff Smiley
I guess he will have maybe 300-500 customers and that is not hard to handle on the webserver. And BTW the URL is not known, so people won't go there at the exactly same second, but in the order as they receive the email with URL...
52  Other / Off-topic / Re: DIY Klondikes: Oil Submerged K16 / K64 Blade Configurations Discussion Thread on: July 04, 2013, 08:40:28 AM
I have had a mineral oil setup for my FPGAs for over a year. Total wattage  is ~65 and the temperature was OK @37-42c ish depending on ambient . Heat syncs are mandatory and so is forced convection (one fan to keep the oil moving) otherwise the hot oil seems to stay around the heat source and does not flow away like you would think because the oil is thick.  I planned on reusing the setup for a BFL single but that won't be happening since they came nowhere close to their power goals. I may try building a new one just because I enjoyed building it. For the much higher wattage it would need a complete redesign and much more oil and more metal/glass/acrylic to transfer heat from the oil to outside the case. Unless you are doing it for fun it is not really worth the expenditure.  Water blocks is probably the better route... but look nowhere as cool (or as silent).
These guys http://www.pugetsystems.com/mineral-oil-pc.php have been running entire PC for few years in a miral oil and their findings are that the oil can easily transfer the heat from CPU even without any pumps. Although the CPU was quite hot (88 degress C), it was running stable which means the heat transfer from it was fast enough (it won't work reliably at 88deg in air). They also noted that bubble of air help to transfer the heat.
But don't forget that oil can only help you to move the heat away from the chips (so you can do more overclocking), but it still heats the room where it is located, so it won't you save anything on A/C for example.

No, the connector on the left side of the green connector. Im not sure what the green connectors cable would look like.
You would most probably split the power from a psu via y-cables.
The green connector is a screw terminal, you just strip a few mm of wire and screw it into the connector. You can use it to daisy-chain the boards (connect PCI-E to first board, then run wires from first board screw terminal to second board screw terminal and so on). But I would not daisy-chain many boards like that, probably would use a star design (PCI-E to a board, then connect screw terminal to other few boards, so connect board 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 to not overload the wires). All the power connector are connected together, so you can use any combination of them.

You connect the boards with data cables by the CAN connector and then connect the first board via USB/microUSB cable to a PC/RPi.

What about something like this http://www.pugetsystems.com/mineral-oil-pc.php for those with many boards?

We have time only until midnight, or 24 hours from Sebastian's PM?

The total sum of the current batches of four EU group buys is currently only 6537. Sad
I think it will rise quite fast once first chips are delivered to any group buy. Because we already know the chips exist, miners from developers seem to be working, so everyone (who still has some money to spend) is waiting if the 9-10 weeks of delivery will be true or not.
