KDC needs to get on a legitimate exchange to be worthwile. Those exchanges listed in the OP are ones that no one uses. Hell, most of them have different prices for KDC/BTC exchanges and one of them is currently even offline. I solo mined KDC yesterday and got a pile of coins but not sure what to do with them.

How are you guys till mining here? He admits to mining a bad fork and.... Crickets... No, "I'm sorry" or "Fees reduced today for my stupidity" or anything of the sort.
But the sheep still follow the herd.

Moria seems to be working but rejects are aweful. My farm is showing rigs that have rejects from 4% - 9% on that server. I'll test with erebor today to see if that is any better. If not, I guess I'll go back to 1gh.com. I get ~3% rejects with them across my entire farm.

This is great! Love how you are mixing coin algos and not just scrypt.
A one or two week revenue/day average would be nice. Helpful to know if it is worth mining by its past history.

Whats up with the U.S. server? Appears down.
Edit: Hmm.. I'm having issues with the US server for some reason. When I ping moria.dwarfpool.com it takes several seconds to show on my screen that I got a ping reply back. It is almost like my rig is waiting on something. I only get the ping lines moving up my screen one every 2 seconds or so. However, the actually pings are good. Less than 50ms. If I just ping the IP address (198.251.81.40), ping acts normal and I get quick scrolling lines going up my terminal which one would expect.
It is almost like it is a DNS issue. I still can't connect to the moria server though from cgminer. CGminer tells me it is dead and will only use the erebor server. Even if I remove the fail over to erebor, cgminer will not use moria.
I have no idea what that is about. Tested on several rigs on my farm and all show the same issues. There is something screwy between myself and moria.

So what was the consensus? Is this forking or what?

Yes, PTS mining may be even cooler than MAX. Regarding aticonfig, I can run it just fine on my headless Ubuntu (with X server started but no display connected to GPUs), just DISPLAY variable needs to be set. I am not a pro miner however, and cannot tell if I am doing it right and if I could lose some hps due to X running.
Ok, setting export DISPLAY=:0 lets me access the gpu temps via aticonfig. Great! I'll play around with this a bit more to see if it makes sense to switch the farm from MAX to PTS

Not that I know of, the algorithm is too special to fit in cgminer. However, this algorithm also puts a different load pattern on GPU, so cards run much cooler and consume less power than with scrypt.
I like how when mining MAX my GPU temps are much lower. Would mining PTS be similar? I have a rather large farm and it bothers me I can't check temps. All my rigs are run headless so there isn't any easy way to check their temps via aticonfig as I don't use a KVM switch. I only use SSH. BTW, don't sweat what that other guy was complaining about. Been using you guys for weeks mining MAX and I have never had one issue with your pool.

Sorry, not really, the miner is pretty basic. You are better off using amdconfig/aticonfig or overdrive5 for that anyway, even with cgminer.
Oh, thats too bad. I can't use it then. I really need to know if my GPUs are overheating. Is there a PTS miner that I can compile that acts/works like cgminer?
|
|
|
The miner only needs your PTS wallet address as a sole parameter, please run it like this: ./pts-miner PYi1qsSc4L99Lip5p3gMsgRtr2cExXXhHC
Great! That did it! Is there no way to see GPU temps with this miner?

Having some issues with setting up PTS on the pool. I downloaded the PTS miner from pts.1gh.com. Here is the command line I"m using on Ubuntu 12.10: ./pts-miner PYi1qsSc4L99Lip5p3gMsgRtr2cExXXhHC:x@ptspool.1gh.com:18120:18121:18122:18123/pts
I get: ('authorization failed with %s:%s@%s:%d', ('PYi1qsSc4L99Lip5p3gMsgRtr2cExXXhHC:x@ptspool.1gh.com:18120:18121:18122:18123/pts', 'x', 'ptspool.1gh.com', 13335)) Fri Feb 21 08:15:33 2014 Failed to authorize
Running four 7950s. After it says "Failed to authorize" four times it looks like it starts dong something: Worker 0-3 Tahiti CPM (15m) 124.00 HPM (15m) 43.00 | CPM 123.90 HPM 42.97 | A/R 0/0 (0.00% rej) Worker 0-2 Tahiti CPM (15m) 124.00 HPM (15m) 44.00 | CPM 123.90 HPM 43.97 | A/R 0/0 (0.00% rej) Worker 0-1 Tahiti CPM (15m) 126.00 HPM (15m) 43.00 | CPM 125.90 HPM 42.97 | A/R 0/0 (0.00% rej) Worker 0-0 Tahiti CPM (15m) 128.00 HPM (15m) 43.00 | CPM 127.90 HPM 42.97 | A/R 0/0 (0.00% rej) Total CPM (15m) 502.00 HPM (15m) 173.00 | CPM 501.60 HPM 172.86 | A/R 0/0 (0.00% rej)
But this can't be right. I'm only getting 500 CPM with four 7950's?? It will also say connection to stratum failed after a few seconds. Ideas?

Is there still no profitability calculator that will show what your expected earnings are per day yet?
|
|
|
Wow. Middlecoin has lost 25% of its total hash rate in the last two days.
What a downward spiral. The pool will have lost 50% by the weekend if he doesn't get his ass in gear and come on the forums to offer an explanation.
|
|
|
If you guys want to maximize profits, you need to strike out on your own and mine for yourself. Don't think the profit switchers are going to be able get you more $/day than you could doing it yourself because they simply can't.

Is there a calculator anywhere showing what one could expect from mining?

Selling 36K AKC for .07BTC. PM please!

Seeing how MC mostly mines Doge, I setup my own Doge P2pool node long ago and cut out the middle man. Hell, I'd rather do it myself and save 3%.
I still do enjoy reading this thread though. Great entertainment!

Fortunately, MAX is profit switching pool resistant. Not only is it NOT scrypt (it's SHA-3), but the hurdles to get the customized CGminer working are high. You have to compile your own miner version and then you have to tweak your command line settings as you won't be able to use the same overlock/memclock/Intensity/etc... settings for SHA-3 coins that you can for scrypt.
Not to mention that if somehow Middlecoin was able to begin mining for MAX it would kill the market immediately thus making it non-profitable.
I love coins like this that can't be taken advantage of by the profit switchers. If you want to mine it, do you own research and mine it yourself.
