41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: November 15, 2022, 02:31:05 PM
Wow ) Probably no one expected that Manchester City would actually lose this game (even the referee who probably added so much time for Manchester City to win and not lose hahaha), but it happened.
Taking into account the fact that you spent money on hedging, did the final winnings turn out to be x18? This is really a minor loss relative to x19. At what minute of the game did you hedge?

Haha, yeah, but almost every win I have in this thread is unexpected, hence the longshot odds... but proving that season after season, you cannot ignore the value of such odds. TBF I thought it'd be longer than 10 mins injury time as Laporte was treated for 8 or 9 minutes, and normally you have min 3 mins injury time anyway.

I hedged 100 units so yes, it is as if it was x18, which means profit will only be 17x (as you'll notice I only add profit minus wager when I win). But it was a good hedge as I noticed Brentford actually played really well, and it was Half Time odds (as I noted in the bet itself). So I would have made profit even if Toney didn't score in the end, but happy I did as draw odds were going down actually as soon as second half started.

I'll update totals next time I put my bet here, thanks for following Wink

Oh, I completely forgot about the fact that the return of the bet is included in the coefficient, but at such a large coefficient my error is small )
What are your plans for the World Cup? It seems to me that there is a high randomness and betting on outsiders that you love so much will often work. When teams from different regions of the world play, which rarely meet with each other, it seems to me that even with all the analytical power of bookmakers it is difficult to predict the result with high accuracy.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 15, 2022, 02:14:57 PM
If you do not consider this situation as a simple joke, then I would demand the full winnings from the casino. "Friend" is not a legal concept and he has no right to cancel the bets that you have made, the fact that he took the chips from the table is the problems of the casino/croupier. In fact, the bet was made and after that the responsibility for its safety lies entirely with the casino, which means that the player must receive the full winnings.
It would be still situational or something that could be argued but you do actually had the point on which it would really be that final or considered to be fixed bet and when someone do really make out some changes and not the bettor itself then they dont really have the rights on doing so.Although this situation is really that something impossible to happen but still a certain friend could really punch up his friend if it turns out
that he had missed out on winning that $300k amount because of that intent on saving him up.This is why its always been that ideal on not to take involvement on someones decisions even if he's your friend.
No matter on how close you are, when it comes to money then everything could really changed up.In overall, this is really an impossible scenario and even myself cant really think off
that it could really be happening.

I don't think there's room for dispute from a legal point of view (formalities) as we have a video (hahaha) of the player making a bet and insisting on it. Outsiders (even if they are his friends) can't cancel it.
Financial actions, including advice, do lead to serious consequences, so it is wise to avoid getting involved in the financial affairs of your friends. The one who fully assumes the consequences of financial decisions should manage the money. Any problems and unsuccessful outcomes can lead to unnecessary quarrels and resentments.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copying Bets From Other Bettors OFFICIALLY... on: November 14, 2022, 04:07:49 PM
In my opinion, this is an extremely dubious idea. What's the point of mindlessly copying other people's bets if we don't understand why they're made? Maybe this is part of a big strategy (a series of bets) and if the one whose bet we copy loses nothing, but we lose. Maybe the bet being copied is a hedge of other bets or a preparation for a live hedge. All these possibilities show that even by "copying" someone's bet, in fact, we cannot copy anything, and the risk that we will be on the losing side is growing.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 14, 2022, 04:02:23 PM
I think this information should be hidden from everyone (except probably the family so that in case of problems with addiction they can help you) and especially from the tax office, hahaha. Unless I'm a blogger, streamer, or someone like that who makes money by talking about himself to everyone, then there is no reason for anyone to know about your hobbies (especially such controversial ones). Many people have different prejudices about gambling and I don't want these prejudices to be transferred on me.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 14, 2022, 02:36:39 PM
The World Cup trophy is now only 6 days away in Qatar. The Greatest So on the Earth Football World Cup will open in Qatar on November 20. The golden trophy of dreams has arrived in the desert country before the start of this grand event of world football. This time 32 teams of the world will fight for the title in the desert of Qatar. Not only the title, but winning this year's World Cup in Qatar will give the countries a huge sum of money.

The prize fund is really a record (but it will always be so due to inflation) and is 440 million dollars. First place will receive 52.5 million, second 30, third 27, and fourth 25. Plus, separately, FIFA will distribute 209 million between clubs whose players take part in the Mundial.
I don't know about the players, but I'm sure the clubs would easily give up this money in favor of this competition not bothering them in general. The budgets of most top clubs are larger than all these payments, and there are a lot of problems from the fact that players spend time and energy on playing for the national team.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 14, 2022, 02:25:57 PM
-skip-
Now I do not know if this ban on gambling ads was or has been unforced in the UK, but my question now is,
\if the UK goes ahead to enforce the ban on gambling ads in the country, you think this will reduce the number of suicides, and other gambling related problems in the country?
\Do you think banning gambling ads is a good measure for the entire government of the world should enforce? will this really stop people from gambling?
\In your own opinion, what measures do you think is appropriate to take that will help reduce the issues, gambling related problems cause in our society?

Lets discuss.

Is alcohol and its advertising already banned in the UK? But it causes a much greater number of deaths and crimes. I don't think that banning anything from ads can solve some imaginary problem because, to begin with, I don't see any connection at all between the harm and what supposedly caused it. If a person initially has mental problems, then he will find a way to worsen it and find a reason for suicide - by the way, even a romantic attachment to someone can become the reason for this. Maybe we should ban romance novels and movies about love?
The most correct thing is to strive for citizens to lead a healthy lifestyle (both physically and mentally), but the problem is that you can’t force anyone (this would be totalitarianism), and many citizens consciously choose a destructive path.

He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4GcK6Dpkk
I was trying to look for Kevin Hart movies on Netflix so I found one. Turns out one scene is an unsatisfying win.

If you do not consider this situation as a simple joke, then I would demand the full winnings from the casino. "Friend" is not a legal concept and he has no right to cancel the bets that you have made, the fact that he took the chips from the table is the problems of the casino/croupier. 48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinion on casinos that don't have ANN threads in the forum? on: November 13, 2022, 04:47:56 PM
Hey guys! Lately I have noticed a trend on one or two occasions and I am curious to ask for your opinion on this particular issue of casinos that do not have an ANN thread in this forum, where discussion on the progress and development of the casinos and also serve as a feedback mechanism to handle issues resulting from members' activities on their site.
I don't know if this topic has been discussed before, if it has, please point me to the thread where the topic has been discussed otherwise please leave your views here in the comment section.
Some of those casinos already hard a running signature campaigns in the forum but yet doesn't have an active ANN thread or a representative in the forum, so how do players deal with issues from the site, should we contact the campaign managers each time there is a problem from those casinos?

On the one hand, the spread of cryptocurrencies has long gone beyond this forum and many users do not even know about its existence, so this forum is not a "mandatory" place where this or that crypto project should be presented. On the other hand, it is natural that the members of the forum have more confidence in the projects presented here, which means that there is an additional feedback channel and there is confidence that the project will defend its reputation in an open discussion in case of problems.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: November 13, 2022, 03:45:38 PM
and nobody is suing him for cheating? in the end

the system is quite crazy, would expect at least something from FIDE, I don't know

too much drama.
how do you all think this will end?

So far, only he is filing lawsuits (which have no judicial prospects) just to save face. FIDE has not been active in this issue for all the years of its existence and has acted only to pacify scandals and negativity around chess (one might say on the side of cheaters). Therefore, here you should not expect any activity from them.
I think all this will end up with Niemann not being able to win anything in court, and the top chess community will try to ignore him.
But the question of the future is more interesting - how will it be possible to detect cheaters (and what about mind games in general) when the human brain is combined with external interfaces? These are questions for the near future, and it looks like they will finally kill the games.

I know I'm late, match has already started, but I already had this post ready, just forgot that the match starts so early, so allow me to put this in, won't you guys? Not like City won't win this anyway, right? haha.

100 units at Fairlay on Brentford to WIN vs City @19.00. Other odds at the time 15.0! (Note HT odds is still 19/1 Brentford, so consider this accurate).

Edit: Can't believe it's actually HT with Brentford allowing in a goal finally. Let's add a nice small live hedge here on a draw, shall we?
100 units at Sportsbet on draw @4.74. Other odds: 4.40

Units advantage: 400+34

Wow ) Probably no one expected that Manchester City would actually lose this game (even the referee who probably added so much time for Manchester City to win and not lose hahaha), but it happened.
Taking into account the fact that you spent money on hedging, did the final winnings turn out to be x18? This is really a minor loss relative to x19. At what minute of the game did you hedge?

After that first game, it's definitely looking that way and I like how JDG is putting up so much pressure throughout on T1 and they're still willing to start a team fight even though they're outnumbered.

T1 tried to keep it close by picking off Hope a couple of times but the draft difference was showing on the side of JDG in the later stages of the game.

I watched the first game yesterday and went to bed (I chose to sleep before work haha) and was very surprised when I saw the score 3-1 in favor of T1 in the morning. The first game from JDG was absolutely brilliant - these team fights in the minority, this playing against T1 which had a baron, but they could not even come out ahead by 50 gold. The moment JDG saved Elder when they ended up in a teamfight seems like 2 vs 5, but ended up with 3 vs 4 kills and forced T1 to retreat. The best LOL game I've seen lately and it's a shame that JDG didn't advance to the next stage.
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino with an online and offline branch. on: October 28, 2022, 04:19:57 PM
Are there any Casino's that are both online and have Land based locations where people can visit to gamble physically?

It is more likely for Land Based casinos to consider going online, but what are the chances that a casino that has started online will consider opening up a Land based casino in a very good gambling location? Do you think it will be good for increasing profit?

I am not an expert on corporations, but it seems to me that if you study the beneficiaries of various casinos (online and offline), it may well turn out that one company owns a number of different gambling projects. The situation may be similar to the situation in the automotive industry where one concern owns many different brands of cars.
I don’t know if offline casinos promote their brands online (and vice versa) or promote new brands in a new market for them, but it’s obvious to me that any business is globalizing and expanding, so online and offline casinos owned by the same company will definitely exist (if not already) soon.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 28, 2022, 04:10:51 PM
The English Premier League has been unpredictable this season from the start. But that did not change the fact that Manchester City is playing really well. Obviously not probably as consistent as we expected them to be but still they are playing well enough in my opinion.

I think Manchester City versus Leicester City match is going to be quite interesting. Both teams are going to play to win this match. And both teams really need to win this match. Manchester City needs to win to stay in the competition for first place and Leicester City needs to get away from the relegation zone.

Manchester City lost 7 points out of 33 possible and this is the usual champion pace where the team scores 90 points at the end of the championship and becomes the champion. The only difference is that Arsenal have an even better win rate, so they are still ahead of Manchester City, which looks unusual. And this year, Liverpool unpleasantly surprised all their fans by failing the first third of the championship and apparently already dropping out of the race for the title.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: October 28, 2022, 04:03:21 PM
Messi this season is much better than last season, but still PSG have such ambitions that they need not just good players in every position, but the best of the best. Plus, if you think about the prospects and take into account Messi's big salary, I think that PSG will find better options. If we talk about marketing noise and brand promotion, then the new generation has already taken over the media space. I think everyone sees that now all the hype is going on around new stars - Haaland and Mbappe, and the first one is still being discussed only in terms of professional qualities, and the second has already managed to get into various scandals and become famous even outside of football.
On the other hand I also read that Messi is not really interested in extending his contract here so indeed this could be a dramatic reversal but of course with the power of money everything might change.
His performance this season is much better than his first season, but this doesn't help anything because it seems that this goat is not really interested in a new contract, although I think this is a good move for him if he continues to stay in Ligue 1.

Objectively yes, this is a good option to play until the very end of a career - a huge salary, a farm league with a low level of competition (title guaranteed) and star partners who can bring the Champions League title. Apparently, Messi is not very worried about being in the shadow of Mbappe and he is satisfied with his position on the field - so if everything suits him, then why change something? From Messi's point of view, to extend the contract with PSG, in my opinion, would be beneficial.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Prefer Online Casinos to Land-based Casinos on: October 28, 2022, 03:27:11 PM
For me it all depends on what games I'm playing.  Some games are just simply more fun playing in person regardless of all other things being considered.

But the main reason I prefer online casinos is the simple fact that I don't like people, as well as at least here in the United States, most all Casinos allow for smoking, which is something that has been essentially banned countrywide while inside a public place, except for casinos (and a few other exceptions).

Wow, this is disgusting. I have never smoked and I remember the times when smoking was allowed almost everywhere with great bewilderment - before it seemed natural, although the stench of tobacco was always unpleasant. These days I can't even imagine what it's like to be in a room where people smoke, I'm sure I would quickly leave such a room. If smoking is allowed in a casino, then I'm sure they lose a lot of customers who avoid them for this reason.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 28, 2022, 03:21:53 PM
Having said all of that, they still have a chance to win the champions league
Some big clubs are now playing Europa League, they have a good chance to win once Bayern and Real Madrid have been knocked out already. PSG can get it this season
Do you believe Bayern and Real Madrid can be eliminated so easily in the Champions League? Or maybe you don't know Real Madrid that well to say so. Because I don't think that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will be eliminated easily, because the team that won the Champions League trophy last season and also as the team that won the most trophies in the Champions League in the simplest words is Real Madrid, will not be easy to beat by every opponent in the Champions League because the Champions League is something that Real Madrid is very focused on.

In fact, any team can beat any other, although I find it hard to believe that Brugge can beat Bayern, but again last year, Bayern were knocked out by Villarreal. But most likely in the 1/8 finals we will not see many "high-profile" sensations, because due to the draw procedure, strong teams will have opponents mainly underdogs and the outcome will be clear in almost all pairs. But of course I would like to see at least a few loud couples already at the 1/8 stage.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 27, 2022, 06:14:47 PM
All teams lose points sometimes it's inevitable (even City have lost 2 points more than Arsenal at the moment) and it's impossible to predict when it will happen. In the next round, Arsenal play with Nottingham Forest - the worst team in the league, which it is ahead of by almost 20 points. Most likely this game will be very convenient for Arsenal to regain their confidence and score a lot of goals. Nottingham Forest concede an average of 2 goals per game and Arsenal have the second attack in the league - a big score in this game is extremely likely.

Yes indeed, even the top teams that dominate the league from season to season are still likely to be held to a draw and also defeated. So yes, a result like this is certainly a reasonable result, moreover Arsenal also just got a very good performance at the beginning of this season which of course any result will still happen and it can happen randomly at any time and also by any team.
At least Arsenal can still rotate their players well because after against Nottingham, Arsenal will play away against Chelsea in the next match which of course won't be easy. Even though, for example, in the end, Arsenal did not win the title, but at least Arsenal have proven the revival they managed to do and will return to play in the Champions League next season.

Oh, if the game against Nottingham Forest is supposed to be a rest, then the game against Chelsea will be a big challenge. Moreover, between these games there will still be a game with Zurich, so the schedule is quite tense. Judging by the latest games, Arsenal have some problems with the implementation of chances, even now, if you look at the statistics, they dominate the game with PSV, but at the same time the score is 0-2 in favor of PSV. This game doesn't have much tournament value for Arsenal, but it will probably be a reason for Arteta to try to change something.
