41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from the cryptomarket for a while. on: January 11, 2018, 12:21:21 PM
It is better to stay away from the market for now as nobody knows what's happening. So it is better not to waste your money for now and don't listen to comments saying " it is a bargain time, it is the buying time , it is a correction time, ....

Yeh - I agree, and make sure you sell in the dip and buy back again when its high... Wink

Lol - honestly though - what part of the market do you think is unknown any differently now than it was yesterday?? or last week, or last september??

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency market crashes 20 percent on: January 11, 2018, 12:12:13 PM
I love watching the market respond... most people you see posting if forums and groups are clearly calm and experienced with ebbs and flows of it all, but the market looks like its being strung along by 7 year olds on sugar highs. Its probably just my naivety but the whole Korean Market issue seems blown out of proportion. The crypto market is supposed to be global - on a macro scale yet, apparently it can be "crashed" and "manipulated" at will by sensationalist journalism or a price valuation website... pfft, just meant a nice discounted buy price on the top100 coins. At one point I saw only 3 things on the list in the green lol.
Still been an interest day though Smiley Discounts all round!!
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is powtoken scam or legit? on: January 11, 2018, 11:53:00 AM
Unless "giving false hope" is the new definition of scam then no - i don't think its a scam considering the tokens were issued for FREE just by linking a FB or Twitter account. Its just stalled right now. You just have to wait and see and hope the devs post some new updates soon like the rest of us.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange for beginner? on: January 04, 2018, 03:42:55 PM
Trying to pick the best will depend on you and ur intended holdings and incremental benefits you want from a trading site. Brief points on 3 sites below;

For example, Yobit & Cryptopia have a trollbox section but only Cryptopia gives you chat options to ignore and tip other users, and viceversa be rewarded via tips of COMP
Yobit includes Investbox, Dice and when its working some FreeCoins. InvestBox offers rewards every 24hrs on certain coins (like 10% daily on some coins).
Yobit seems to be set to cover many BTC shitforks. These forks are getting out of hand, but still u get some free coin if you have a BTC balance. Bitcoin Uranium (BUM) is one of the latest (really... the coins short code is BUM... smh)
Each exchange has different minimum buy amounts, fees and withdraw fees. Buying min amounts - Yobits is only 10k sats, Cryptopia 50k sats and Binance is 100k sats.
None of these sites require you to complete verification to withdrawal or begin trading. And BTC deposits are available fairly promptly only needing a few confirmations. (Check first if your in a hurry, or give yourself time).
XRP, ADA & PO.ET are not available at many exchanges. Binance has them, but not Yobit or Cryptopia.

I think Yobit is fine to use for a beginner for trading purposes and the Investbox is a great idea, but due to a lot of the wallets being on maintenance or slow updates, and also the slower than expected withdrawal times, if you are looking to buy alts and send them back to you for HODL purposes, just make sure the wallet is working first.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta sucks on: January 01, 2018, 03:36:27 AM
Ive never used my mobile device to trade as I live in front of a PC with multiple screens etc... but I agree with you the site is clunky and annoying to use. There are a huge amount of features ED could incorporate to make user experiences more enjoyable. But I'd rather they keep the focus on security right now. A slow ED is better than no ED.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Explanation for ripple price increase? on: December 30, 2017, 10:09:39 AM
i read somewhere that there is a claim someone thinks XRP is going to be listed on Coinbase next and people are stocking up before the price moves skywards the way it rebounded for BCH... so u know - its the whole buy now before the muggles know its worth buying idea...

As for the noise everyone else is dancing too regarding banking sector uptakes or no, premines, artificial pumps, overinflation etc - none of this is new news or anything different to regular trading conditions surrounding any current coin... well maybe not banking stuff, but again, its just noise. I feel like XRP was giving all the signals for a rise for awhile now. Its quite exciting to see the action on the top10 Smiley

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CoinCodex.com – Cryptocurrency Listing Website Designed for You on: December 29, 2017, 12:37:48 PM
Stumbled across the site a few weeks back when I was looking for some token prices of things that had yet to list on Coinmarketcap. Its great to see you are covering different/newer projects here. The only thing I notice is decimal factor only goes to to 8 so it gives an overvalued figure for say POW or EXRN for example.

I appreciate the watchlist option also. This could be even further augmented to allow for a few sort options for the watchlist (A-Z, HiLo or user-custom select).

Thanks for continually upgrading the site. It is my go-to market listing data.
48  Other / Off-topic / Christmas Holidays & the Joy of having WIFI - **Warnings for imminent whinging** on: December 29, 2017, 04:10:30 AM
So for the last few years my partners sister and her family travel down to visit the rest of their family who live nearby to enjoy a big family christmas etc... isnt that nice! Well stuff that - christmas is my hated time of year because of their visit and the "forced" family time. (I'm a loner ok... I live on my PC and hubby accepts this happily!!)

Anyway - under the pretense of family visiting they call in at random occasions and times of day, screaming and yelling and pretty much demanding that they all be hooked up to our wifi immediately and then the 5 of them sit like zombies, or worse pretend to interact with us... If we are not home they park up in the driveway, or worse, demand the key to get into the house to get the password for a new device... or additional device they forgot about but desparately need to access.

Like I want these wifi ninja's in my goddamn house every year.

So anyway - im off home to change the password again, but then I wondered... all their devices -- can I ninja something back and make them go thru a proxy page to access my wifi and hit them with a browser miner running at max so they leave quick cos the network is rubbish hah!

Anyone do this to wifi ninja's in your fam or friends circle? The thought makes me happier at least Smiley

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to convert your tokens into ether in myetherwallet.com on: December 29, 2017, 01:54:07 AM

Do we still have to enter our private key details after installing the Metamask?

Sorry - removed my last comment - you shouldn't need to load your private key from MetaMask into ED, instead you login to the extension on the ED page and refresh the page and it will find your MetaMask account for you.

Otherwise you'll need to load in private key details - and most people don't advocate ever having to share ur private keys for security reasons.

However, if you are looking to trade and do share your private keys with ED, just exercise caution and limit your risks like using an account that only holds enough ether for gas transactions, and not the account with all your tokens in it.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Any coins - easily mined? on: December 28, 2017, 06:20:39 AM
Lots of coins can be easily mined with a CPU but whether or not they will be worth anything in the future - who knows. Anyone who could predict the future is unlikely to be trolling forums to offer you their valuable incite here. The rest of us just research the coins ourselves and decide based on consensus, belief in a project/community/dev/team etc that a coin might be worth getting in on.

First, do some research on CPU mining to get an understanding of what you are up against. Any coins that can be mined with a CPU can also be mined with much much much better and more efficient means (ASICS or GPU rigs) and therefore the type of mining return a CPU gets is tiny in comparison.

Still, because everyone has to start somewhere, CPU mining can still be done easily without requiring too much user input via Minergate or from Electroneum. With Minergate you can pick from a range of Cryptonight algo coins like XMR, ZEC or BCN, and obviously the Electroneum download, only offers ETN to be mined.

Disclaimer: Many people dislike both these options - but if this is your first time mining, these are hassle free options that allow you to be mining on nearly any platform (not ipad or iphone). Once you get more mining knowledge you will be better able to seek out better platforms, but these are both newbie friendly options.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to find an altcoin rating site! on: December 28, 2017, 05:58:04 AM
Agree with the others - coinmarketcap is great for quick realtime data. You can also try sites like coincodex or cryptocompare. Either way - google is pretty much your friend here.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Yobit is a scam exchange on: December 27, 2017, 11:01:59 PM
Yobit is a scam they keep their Wallets on maintenance indefinitely and will not allow you to withdraw their old coins. I have been trying to withdraw my OMG coins without any luck for over 6 weeks now they don't respond to any of their support tickets or telegram Channel
Yobit have poor customer support also their investbox looks scammy. Many of the wallets are offline and they will never respond to any support request.
Only wallet of coin with high daily trading volume are maintained healthy there and they keep adding new shit coins without fixing older wallet's issues.

How is their investbox scammy? They literally give u free coins for not trading them for a day... a week or a month depending on which you investment you choose. All it is - is short-term POS done within their exchange to encourage people to trade in and Hodl new coins. If you want your investment out before its matured - u just close the investbox option... again? How is that a scam??

And come on ppl... if the wallet is broken, just trade out the shitcoin and buy something with a working wallet to withdraw. Chances are another exchange will have a working wallet for your particular coin to buy if Yobit isn't able to.

Trading on Yobit has its quirks. It allows for a particular type of trading, but its well documented that the wallets can be unavailable for withdrawals, however "trading" is still allowable to give people the opportunity to ya know "trade" it out.

I'm not trying to promote Yobit - but people need to upskill themselves on how to use the internet/exchanges/crypto/life in general because its not hard and you don't need to raise support tickets or call out scams for everything just because it doesn't work out how you want it.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: December 23, 2017, 12:00:33 AM
what are thoughts about how much time L3+ will remain profitable? like month or maybe year?

There are several scrypt coins goin off right now - no idea for how long the upward momentum is gonna last - noone can predict that. But if i had the money i'd be buying one of these for sure. Two even.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: December 22, 2017, 11:55:59 PM
Where do people mine verge xvg? Dutch-mining got it but it is not profitable on there.

I use multipool for xvg, not sure if its the best pool - but you can either mine in the main multipool or select ur own pool.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: December 21, 2017, 01:53:25 PM
I'm digging the outlook for crypto's that offer that privacy element. Hoping for good things from XVG and the price is still completely worth buying in at. Its exciting to watch!!
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Starters portofolio on: December 20, 2017, 02:08:50 PM
Was surprised at your picks also - but saw this post was from a few weeks ago. How did you go? Did you get urself some cheap alts?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best strategy to maximize the gain on: December 20, 2017, 02:03:47 PM
My (non-expert) strat is hodling, so I would just keep on keeping on with ur current portfolio.

But I take it your asking the question because you're not satisfied with your current holdings. So, in that case I look at the returns and/or usability of the projects. If I wanted to try my luck with another project and I had to divest holdings to get it, the lowest returns would go first, and perhaps also clearing some profit from the higher returning projects (reduces the investment - but still keeps you in it).

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alt coin says it can beat Bitcoin on: December 20, 2017, 01:25:54 PM
Bitcoin might be the OG of crypto for a 7 year old project, but anyone who thinks that an altcoin will 'never beat it' isn't really looking macro enough. Based on the situation right now correct - BTC is King hands down, but so it should be. Its had more time to grow and more focus and attention.

But Bitcoin has issues. Its has a high barrier to entry for investing in, mining or just even hodling, its expensive to use as a daily currency, and slow to transfer.  But for most, entry into crypto relies mostly on attaining BTC first from fiat. Alts can step in here and bridge the gap and with the new tech they are and will bring in another 7 years I expect we'll have several high priced crypto's that top Bitcoin for usability.

For now though, I do tend to agree with the consensus - any project that states something so bold as "beating Bitcoin", should rethink their campaign slogan... its likely doing more damage to the project than garnering the community support that you want. I mean look how vehemently the community supports Bitcoin even with its known flaws.

Viva La #Pinkcoin!!

Is it worth staking 1000 coins? And anyone know if you can stake more than one wallet on one pc?
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Demicoin - The New Bitcoin Killer - Lending/Bounties/Trading ... on: December 13, 2017, 03:35:43 AM
Hi there,

I was about to buy some DEC from your website (finger hovering over the send button) you nearly got me on the website but... but then I was like no.. ask some questions first aye. Whitepapers are TLDR - you and your ANN doesn't give me much more to go on.

Does the 20 DEC signup bonus only activate after I commit to buying a min 50 of your tokens?

Why do you think your token will be worth $55 by Feb18?

What makes you different to existing projects with platforms, wallets, and supporting apps that aren't even close to $55 in value? And where is your community? Twitter, and here are very quiet so that makes me wonder.

Thanks
